Deep into the night, she decided to sneak out of her room, past the forms of her sleeping servants. Xi-Feng was unable to sleep, frankly not exhausted with the previous day's events. More lessons, more poetry, more flower arranging...Boring. It was what she did daily, except when visitors graced her presence. Silk dragged quietly across the wooden floor as she stepped out into the garden, not minding as white touched the green of the grass, sure to be stained by it. Perhaps a walk in her garden would do her well.
The garden was the closest to being outside that she got, though the foreboding walls kept her in. She could always try and fly away, though with the weight of her kimono, she wouldn't be able to go far, not to mention the possibility of being snagged in trees. She gave another heavy sigh, settling at the edge of the small, yet sprawling pond, hungry fish swarming near her, ready to be fed.
Quietly she sighed, dipping one paw into the water, causing them to scatter. "The pine leans in the midnight wind, and yet the sparrow cannot land..." She mumbled unhappily, watching the water ripple.
