He'd been playing with his phone for an hour. He kept flipping it open, and looking at the two phone numbers. His finger would linger over each one, over and over, before he'd flip the phone closed again. He wasn't supposed to need anyone. He wasn't supposed to want anyone. How had everything changed so drastically in the short span of days? He'd always been so happy alone. Spending his days curled up on his treasure, enjoying the silence. The cold. The distance. It used to please him so. Now his room was a graveyard, and his heart yearned for company. His hand reached over and rubbed the wispy side of his body, as if it ached for attention. And then he flipped open his phone again, and looked at his two contacts. People who had somehow, despite all the barriers he'd put up, managed to sneak their way into his heart. He pushed the icon for a text message, and gave up on the idea that he'd ever be able to be happy alone, again. Eight Text to: Sibyl Wanna come over and hang out? I'm bored.

Sibyl's phone was so new she really wasn't used to the sound it made when she received a text. She'd been sprawled out on the floor and staring up at the ceiling. She was bored. So bored. Boooooooooored. She needed to go see someone. She needed--eh? What was that twinkling sound? It sounded like a magical sparkly spell of magical sparkly things. OH WAIT! That was her new phone right right she got it so she could talk to all of her awesome new Amityville friends more! Right! She scrambled for the phone and picked it up, squealing with delight when she saw who the text was from. Gabby! Her super awesome amazing special best friend! Yay! Um..how... She held the phone above her head, turned it upside down, right side up, sideways, and flat on its back. How did she reply? Sibyl had kind of zoned out when she was being taught how to use the phone. Eventually she figured it out, slowly pressing each key on the screen's keyboard. Nio Love Text to: GAAAAAAAAABBYYYYYYYYY =D!!!!!!!!YES I WILL BE THERE SOON Sibyl put the phone down on her table and just..ran out without it. She also often forgot the phone was really only handy if you had it on you outside of the dorm room. Regardless she ran the whole way to Gabby's dorm, remembering how to get to it from the last time she'd been there. When she arrived the knocked a few times on the door, bouncing on her toes and grinning from ear to ear. Gabby Gabby Gabby Gabby Gabby Gabby Gabby Gabby~.

Gabby laughed out loud when he read the text. He laughed because he could hear her voice when he read it - so loud and hyper and full of exhuberance. He wondered when he would decide it was a mistake to invite her over.. and he waited for the moment to come.. and waited.. But it never came. He closed the phone and laid back on his treasure, no longer fearing the silence of his room. With the impending destruction of said silence, he didn't mind it so much. He soaked up the remaining few minutes, knowing that any minute, it would all go away. And it helped, just knowing that he wouldn't be alone anymore. The knock at the door came, and he almost got up to get it, but he was hit with a dose of laziness and flopped back down on his treasure. "It's open Sibyl." He called out to the door.

The door flew open when Sibyl was told it wasn't locked or anything. The last time she had been in this room she had been asleep, and then when she'd left she'd been half asleep as it was so..she didn't remember what it looked like. That was why when the door opened and she saw the huge pile of glittering treasures Gabby was lounging on. Oh. My. Jack. Sibyl's eyes were wide as saucers and her jaw dropped as she just stared at it. So many shinies. It was hard to get a speechless Sibyl, but when one encountered a speechless Sibyl the best choice of action was probably to bask in the silence for as long as it lasted. Five, four, three, two... "YOU HAVE THE BEST ROOM EVER OH MY JACK THIS IS SO COOL CAN I TOUCH IT IT'S SO SHINY EEEEEEEE I CAN SEE MY REFLECTION THAT'S SO AWESOME ohohohohoh I bet it was super hard to see me when I was a minipet in here blended like a ninja!" Sibyl struck a ninja post then, and then she quickly climbed onto the pile to sit beside Gabby. Oh. It wasn't as comfy as it looked. Maybe it felt different for dragons. Some of these diamonds were kinda pointy. Whatever, she'd deal. She squirmed and moved until she was able to get as comfortable as possible on the pile without disturbing it too much. She'd read in her book! This was important to a dragon! She shouldn't mess with it too much. Ohhhh what was that over there? Was that a crown? It looked like a crown. Could she try it on? She'd put it right back! Honest! "I was bored too. My brothers used to say it was dangerous when I got bored." Sibyl shrugged, flopping over so her head was on his shoulder. "Am I dangerous? I'm a monster you know. Monsters are fierce." Her eyes widened again. "Let's do something awesome."Because being bored was bad. And bad things were bad. Gabby was bored, she was bored, they could go on an adventure. Or something.

Gabby had the tiniest moment of 'what have I done' when he saw that look on her face, before she exploded into excitement and he groaned, flopping back down onto his gem pile. It wasn't as if he thought, even for a moment, that telling her not to touch his pile would stop her. She asked, and then climbed up onto it, leaving him no time for rebuttal. He knew better than to even try. When she shuffled to get herself comfortable, he winced, trying his hardest not to think about how many things were getting displaced under her movement. He closed his eyes so he couldn't see, and waited until she'd stopped moving before looking again. It was just in time for her to declare she was fierce. His expression broke out into a grin, and he let out a sharp little laugh. "Sibyl, you're the fiercest creature I know. I'm afraid of you every day of my unlife." But he hadn't invited her over to go on an adventure. He'd invited her over to spend some time with him. She was already proposing leaving the room.. and moving.. and not laying down.. and uuuuuuuuuugh. "Cant we just sit here and do nothing togetherrrr." He whined, laying flat with his limbs flailed out dramatically.

The fiercest creature he knew. Sibyl gasped and sat up, clapping her hands excitedly and giggling. She was a fierce predator! Feared by all! Oh but wait..she wanted to be feared by humans, not her friends! What had she done?! She couldn't hold it back! She was too scary! Noooooo! All in a moment Sibyl went from the most excited to heartbroken and regretful, flopping back down beside Gabby with a mournful howl of despair. "No! Don't be afraaaaaaaid!" Sibyl cried, clinging to Gabby. "I won't scare you I promise!"At this point it was hard to tell if Sibyl was playing along or if she was being completely serious. When Gabby complained about doing nothing she blinked. Whiny scareling. She sat up again, looking down at the boil with a thoughtful little look. It was never a good thing when Sibyl was thinking. Gabby was bored, wasn't he? And so was Sibyl! And when Sibyl was bored she...went out and did something. How could she convince Gabby they should go out somewhere and do something fun. ...Dragons didn't like their stuff touched. With a completely innocent look on her face the ghoul turned and looked around at the glittering treasures underneath them. She spotted the tiara from earlier and reached for it, putting it on with a little giggle. It was so pretty! Ohhh, was that a necklace? It looked similar to the one she had found adventuring with Hel! That was picked up and put on, too. She then turned to Gabriel, grinning from ear to ear. "Am I a princess?"How to bribe a dragon to get out: Show him what will happen if you stay in.

Gabby almost sat up when he saw her picking up and wearing a tiara, but in truth, tiaras weren't even really some of his favorite treasure. It wasn't like he was ever going to wear it - he just.. treasure. Still, the damn thing looked better on her than it ever would on him. So he slowly pushed himself up to sit, and reached out to adjust the tiara gently. "Yeah, Sibyl." He murmured affectionately, tweaking her cheek. "You'll always be a princess." Her plan had failed her. Even though he'd initially been horrified at her invasion, he couldn't help but notice that the more she wore it, the more it looked like it had been made for her. And like hell would he ever do something to change that ridiculously over-smiling face. "UUUUUUUUUGH." He groaned, leaning back down on his treasure with a flop. "Keep it. I can't stand to look at it anymore. It's not like I wanted it anyway." Lies, lies, and more lies, just to make it seem like it wasn't a sacrifice to give it away.

Her plan was flawless. Gabby would see that she could not be trusted to not touch and mess with all of his treasure, and as a result he would realize that clearly the only solution was to get her out of the room and go do something awesome and fun with her outside! It was a beautiful Autumn day out there! There were so many possibilities! When the boil sat up and was completely expecting a 'fine we can go out' reaction or something along those lines, but instead Gabriel surprised her by fixing the tiara so it sat neatly on her head. The ghoul squeaked as her cheek was pinched, rubbing that cheek and looking up at Gabby with surprise. He wasn't mad she was touching his stuff? "O-oh.." Gabby was getting nicer, huh? That was good. Grumpy pants wouldn't make him lots and lots of friends like she knew Gabby could make if he really tried. The groan made her grin again. There it was! Success! She won! He was giving in! ...He was not giving in. Sibyl gasped. "Keep it? But...but I thought dragons loved their treasure!" He would really let her keep this pretty thing?! Her eyes turned up to the tiara. "I can keep it? Really?" She almost couldn't believe it. From what she had read it sounded like dragons didn't give up their treasures for anything! She was right. Gabby was amazing. She threw her arms around the boil in a tight hug, squealing with delight and nuzzling her cheek against his. "Thank you, Gabby! Ohhh it's so prettyyyyy! Thank youuuu! Oh! Ohohoh I know!" The tiara was removed so Sibyl could reach up and mess with her hair, tugging and pulling at the various decorations she'd woven through her braid. After a bit of difficulty she made an aggravated little noise and just untied the leather strip that kept her braid together at the end, pulling free a long string of pearls that had been woven through the braid a few times. The string was held out to Gabby, the tiara put back on her head without fixing her hair. The pearls were all from the ocean, brought from her home outside of Amityville, and the ghoul cared well for them and kept them shining and brilliant. "Tradesies~. These for the tiara!" Sibyl was a genius. It astounded her how smart she was.

"We do love our treasure." He snapped out sharply, sitting up just in time to catch her when she flung herself at him. It was reactions like these that fueled his irrational moments of affection for the ghoul. Really, it was all her fault. But he wasn't complaining, as she smothered him with gratitude. He just let her have her way, and tried not to nuzzle back. He did not nuzzle. At least, he didn't think he should. There were lines he was crossing left and right, nowadays - he tried so hard to keep hold of the few he still had left.
Gabby watched curiously as she fussed with her hair, until the pearls came out. Gabby's eyes went wide with a look that she'd never seen before - it was intense do want desire. He reached for them and looked at each one, before his lips opened in a giant, almost frightening grin.
"I looooooove pearls." Gabby drawled, clearly smitten by the gift. He put them against his face and held them there for a moment. "Oh yes, I will be happy to take them."

So Gabby liked pearls. Sibyl blinked, watching him inspect each pearl. He really liked pearls. "You should'a told me sooner." She would've given him a strand during Scarentine's had she known! Sibyl put the tiara back on her lap and quickly put her hair up in a messy bun held together by the leather strip..somehow.. ...For now. "Did you really just wanna lay here and do nothing, Gabby?" Sibyl asked while she fit the tiara neatly on her head, taking off the necklace she had picked up and reaching out to put it on Gabby instead. There, now he could be pretty too. "We could go oooout. Swimming or flying! That'd be fun!" It would be nice to be taken flying as a ghoul and not a tiny minipet who had to shove itself in his hood to not get lost.

Gabby wrapped the pearls around his own neck, and tied them messily behind his back until they hung against him. "I didn't know you'd be offering." He answered, before giving her another hug. He really did love his gift, and the fact that they came from her made them extra special. When he pulled away, he stared critically as she messed with her hair. After a roll of his eyes, he reached out and pulled the tiara off, before pulling her long hair up into a bun. He tied the strands up into one another, and pulled a single short curl out on either side of her head, before settling the tiara back on her head and sliding it into her hair. "Is it such a crime to want to stay home? I'm happy, here. This is fun, too. People can have fun at home." Even as he said it, he felt defeated, as though he'd never be able to win an argument with Sibyl. She alone had that power. "Or.. I guess we could go flying or swimming.." He sounded so unhappy about it.

"You didn't ask~." Sibyl giggled and returned the hug, making a happy little sound. Yay hugs! And he started it this time! Gabby was making wonderful progress, she was so proud~. "I find lots of shiny gems and stuff when I go swimming. I can hold my breath for suuuuuuuuuuper long time and swim through the water like super fast! Bet I could swim faster than you can fly." Sibyl announced proudly, fully confident that she could totally swim faster than Gabby could fly. The water was her sky in a sense. She'd noticed when Gabby had taken her flying the first time that it was basically swimming through the sky, only you needed wings instead of fins or flippers. Sibyl had been content with how her hair was at first. She could fix it later, she just didn't feel like spending forever on it. The ghoul needed a reflective surface and new hair decorations, none of which she had except for Gabby's pretty and shiny pile of treasures. Maybe the silver could act as a mirror.. Suddenly Gabby was taking her tiara away and she gasped, nearly whining in protest until he felt her pull her hair free from what she had done to it and started...putting her hair up? She blinked, sitting still like a good ghoul. In truth she did like having her hair pet and played with and styled, it reminded her of when her sisters would sit and brush her hair and make it pretty like them. Her eyes closed and her smile became somewhat sad for a moment; Sibyl was feeling homesick. She would have to go visit them soon. Her eyes stayed closed even when she felt the tiara being placed back into her hair, her smile brightening for Gabby so he didn't have to see her even a little bit sad. "Thank you, Gabby~." Sibyl opened her eyes and turned to look for something to see herself in, spotting a silver platter nearby and turning her head this way and that to get a good look at what he had done. It was so.. cute! She had no idea Gabby could do things like this! "I love it!" The little selkie squealed with delight, turning to Gabby again. "And you're right, we can. What would you like to do, Gabby?" Sibyl was being honest. As much as she wanted to continue with the adventure kick she'd been on since Pickles had taken her to that island and Hel had taken her geocaching, Gabby had invited her here to hang out, and she wanted him to be happy. She'd be happy as long as he was, really. But if it were up to her they would either go flying again or she would take him swimming to find more treasures for his room.

This news interested Gabby almost as much as his new pearls had. "Is there a lot of shiny things in the ocean? I confess I've never tried looking down there, myself. I'm not much of a water person. I can swim.. just don't do it much." And then the last thing she'd said hit him like a ton of bricks. Was that a challenge? Gabby's eyes glittered before he bent in close, baring his teeth slightly in a predatorial grin. "I'm positive you can't swim as fast as I can fly. You wanted to go out? We're going out - racing." Well, she'd successfully found a way to keep Gabby from being a lazy do nothing..

Sibyl grinned. Lots of shiny things? Uh duh! "If you know where to look~! And I know where to look." She told him happily, about to let him know she could take him treasure hunting when he grabbed onto the challenge she had playfully offered him. Wow! He looked really excited, too! Sibyl couldn't help but grin, looking cockier than one could ever expect this particular ghoul to be. If there was one thing she knew she knew it was swimming, and Gabby didn't have jack on swimming. She would win. "Bring it on, dragon boil!" Sibyl laughed and climbed off the pile, taking her tiara off and putting it somewhere safe. She would come back for it later. "Let's go, let's go!" The ghoul wasn't going to move until Gabby was near her, which was when she would move behind Gabby and climb onto his back. She pretty much wasn't giving the boil much of a choice, just like last time, nestling her head against him with her cheek pressed against Gabby's.

Ah, he'd gotten her all excited again. Gabby deadpanned for a moment, before slowly pulling himself off of his treasure and standing up, taking a single step forward. Sibyl was upon him then, leaving him to stumble with the sudden weight and impact, but he kept himself up and turned his head to give her a squinty look. "You're a lot heavier now that you're not a tiny white fluffball." He remarked, reaching back and tugging on a strand of hair before returning the nuzzle to his cheek. She hardly weighed anything even now, but he had to tease. He grumbled something about riding him without permission, before heading out of the dorms. Sibyl made it harder to fly when she was full size between his wings, so he hoofed it - jogging to the nearest lake, and pausing there to size it up. "All right, these are the terms. You swim. I fly. We both start at one side. First to make it to the other side, wins. Deal?"
