Personality/Mannerism: Feared by his enemies, and also his allies, Zael is very strict and dedicated to his work. He is fiercely loyal to the Yukikage and he has a strong sense of pride. Zael puts on a tough attitude, but he is willing to help those in need. He has a stubborn streak and doesn’t like to reveal his weaknesses. He also veils his good or kind actions with exaggerated annoyance and agitation. Unfortunately, he is a chain smoker. Zael doesn’t lust for women and can even express annoyance when forced into a conversation with one. He is terrified of ghosts and anything supernatural. Zael doesn’t seek or expect forgiveness to those he has killed, but stops those who are making the same mistake so he can move on. Despite living in Yukigakure, Zael is not so fond of the snow-capped mountains. He prefers open beaches and the sun.

Special Tactic/Skills: Zael is very skilled with a traditional Japanese sword, a katana. He grew up under the bushido code and is very prideful of his samurai heritage. He is also very silent on his feet, much like how any skilled Shinobi should be.
Battle Strength: Zael is very strong and quick on his feet. Being quick on his feet means pivoting, dodging, reaction timing, and short quickness. In order to use his strength to its full capacity, he uses a special katana that was given to him as a gift to harness his strength.
Battle Weakness: Zael isn’t very fast in terms of long-distance speed and he has trouble determining what moves to pull next. To him, battles are much like chess. He’s much more likely to sacrifice pawns in order to get to the king, but he always has difficulty planning his future moves.

• Kinobori no Waza - Act of Tree Climbing ~ E Rank
Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed.

A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.
• Shunshin no Jutsu - Body Flicker Technique –D
Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu. The ninja will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.
• Swamp of the Underworld ~ A
By changing the surface of an object beneath an enemy into mud and creating a swamp, the user can sink his enemy into the mud. The adhesive, chakra-infused mud ensnares the enemy's body, making it almost impossible to recover one's strength and escape from the swamp. The size and depth of the created swamp depends on the user's skill and the amount of chakra used, but if the user is an expert in this technique, it will always be possible to make a fair-sized swamp which is extremely effective against a great number of enemies or when having to face gigantic creatures.
• Earth Prison Dome of Magnificent Nothingness ~ B
This technique traps the victims inside a self-repairing dome of earth which is almost instantaneously able to reform. It is able to absorb the chakra of anyone trapped inside. However, the users chakra is not evenly distributed throughout the dome. Near the back, the user’s chakra is much weaker, making the dome weaker in that spot. This jutsu can also be used as a protection against foes and can surround the user in order to protect him.

This technique causes a cave-in by destroying the equilibrium that holds the cave together. Just removing a single vital stone throws off the balance of the cave, making it unexpectedly fragile and causing a domino effect that destroys the entire cave.

Murasame ~ S
This katana-style blade was given to Zael as a gift from Mitsuba Jirochou. Murasame was forged in chakra-induced lava and a seal was placed on the sword so that only Zael Yukimura may wield it in battle. In addition, Murasame is possibly the heaviest blade to grace the Shinobi world. It weighs a hundred pounds. This sword is indestructible and extremely difficult for its opponents to block or parry any attack made by Murasame, considering its weight.

Background:
Zael Rose Yukimura was born in a puny village on the outskirts of a snow-capped mountain range. His village was normally chilly, but it hardly ever snowed. It was a peaceful village in which did not raise Shinobi or ask for trouble. The inhabitants of this village lived in huts and bathed in fresh water streams and ate the crops they grew themselves. This village was isolated from the rest of the world and was self-sufficient, so they liked it that way. They had their own village symbol that looked, and was, very much like a rose. This village, which came to be known as Rose Village, was in blissful peace.
Like most villages, there is always a troublesome child. This child, conspicuously, was Zael. While the adults were bathing in the streams, Zael would release hundreds of frogs he had found and the amphibians would tumbled into the angry bathers. Zael would draw gigantic pictures in the dirt in the middle of the village using a stick. He was a menacing little brat that annoyed the adults, but everyone still loved him, still cared for him and although he would trick everyone, he still loved them. Rose Village was just this kind of village. Not one person deserved to die in a horrible fire that spread like a tsunami. Despite that, nearly every villager was burned to death. The rest were killed by the bandits that had raided their isolated home. Zael, still as a child, was indeed sliced with a dagger. He was the only survivor and was never discovered before the bandits left with bags of stolen goods from Rose Village.
The half-dead child remained silent underneath the blood and corpses of his family and friends for almost an entire day. By the time his body was teetering on the edge of the abyss named death, rescuing Shinobi appeared to retrieve the survivors. Of course, it was only Zael. These Shinobi were from a Snow Clan village and brought Zael to their hospital. It took weeks for Zael to begin speaking about what had happened to everyone he cared about. Frighteningly, the first words uttered from Zael’s mouth as he was stabilizing were, “Kill them… Kill those men who took everything from me.” Though the boy was still dazed, the Shinobi didn’t take him seriously and brushed off the tears that slid down his bloodied cheeks. After receiving all the information needed, the Shinobi left Zael alone on the streets. The child didn’t mind all that much. He had nothing left. Through his pitch-black darkness arose a shimmering light of hope. In the shivering village of Yukidon, a blanket was thrown around Zael’s shoulders. Knowing nothing but hatred left, Zael looked up to find a girl no older than he, smiling warmly at him. The shine seemed to return to his eyes that day. Her name was Mitsuba Jirochou.
Mitsuba was the daughter of a high-class Shinobi and the sister of a younger brother, whose name was Saitou. Mitsuba brought Zael to her house and fed him and kept him warm. Within the first few years of his residence with the kind and generous Jirochou family, Saitou began to childishly hate Zael for soaking up so much of Mitsuba’s time. Zael lived with the Jirochou’s until he applied to be a Shinobi and his own apartment in Yukidon. He had turned twenty by this time and he was deeply in love with Mitsuba. He would buy her flowers and jewelry whenever he had saved up enough money. She was his ray of light that pierced through his chilling darkness. Mitsuba, on Zael’s twentieth birthday, gave him a katana named Murasame, forged by her father with the emblem of Rose Village on the hilt and up the side of the scabbard. It was specifically made for him due to its weight and Zael gratefully accepted the beautiful gift.
In between missions, unfortunately, Zael would challenge Shinobi to fights and return home injured. He felt the only way to prove to himself that he could protect the ones he loved was to get stronger by becoming an honorary Shinobi. Mitsuba hated the idea of Zael putting himself in danger, but knowing of his past, Mitsuba didn’t have the heart to tell him no. On a horrible, fateful day, Mitsuba suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Due to work, Zael arrived last, after Saitou, as their father had passed away from old age. They both learned that Mitsuba had an incurable illness in her lungs, most likely due to stress. Zael knew it was his fault that Mitsuba was under so much stress. Zael had to make a terrible choice between fighting to protect those he cared about or stay by Mitsuba’s side. His lover soon realized his predicament and smiled weakly on the hospital bed and held Zael’s hand, “Go. You can’t protect anyone if you’re weak as a kitten.” With tears brimming on his eyes, Zael kissed Mitsuba on the forehead and said, “I love you, Mit-chan.” She returned the feeling and fell unconscious just as Zael left the hospital.
While in training to become a Jounin, Zael received a letter from the hospital about Mitsuba’s death. For many weeks, everyone who knew Zael was confused and worried. He had disappeared, as did Saitou. The only difference between the two of them was that Zael returned to finish his training. After finally completing the Jounin Exam, Zael returned to his empty apartment to find Saitou standing at his doorstep. Saitou’s eyes were wild and malicious as he spoke, ”You killed her. You killed my sister, you b*****d!!” Zael kept a straight face and said nothing. This only made Saitou angrier. The younger brother of Zael’s lost love pulled out a dagger and attacked Zael. Easily, Zael was able to overcome Saitou, but his own emotions got in the way and a wave of killing intent washed over him. Zael stopped himself from killing Saitou, seeing Mitsuba in her brother’s eyes. Saitou disappeared that night after escaping and hasn’t been heard of since. Zael takes full responsibility and feels the need to find Saitou in order to salvage Mitsuba’s family. However, to salvage the career given to him by Mitsuba, Zael stays a Jounin and looks for Saitou on the side.
Within the month of Mitsuba's death, there was a peace between all the Snow Clans, which Zael first thought was impossible. His warm heart had already frozen from his loss and the weather, so he wasn't about to give up on fighting yet. Zael continued his ruffian, barbaric behavior and soon enough, he had picked a fight with the Yukikage of the newly-made Yukigakure. His anger blurred his vision and his skills were no match for what the Yukikage had in store, but words were exchanged and Zael came to realize the pretty boy might actually be able to lead the Village Hidden in the Snow to peace and properity. This is where Zael’s story begins.
