Name: Potamphith
Colour: Blue
Size: Above average
Impresse: Lysandor
Egg: Touching this murky blue egg will instantly give the candidate a feeling of floating in a soothing warm. It feels secure at first, with no real feelings toward negative or positive. Then it comes. It begins as a pickling sensation, wandering up the candidate’s spine: They are not alone in this place. Somewhere in those warm secure depths there is an immense force, watching and waiting. No challenge comes from the Hippo egg; it does not need to prove itself. It knows completely what it can do. There is only one option: flee. It is giving you this one chance. Run. It will not offer you this chance again.
Personality: Potamphith is, in a word, lazy. The dragon very rarely enjoys getting up to do anything, except possibly to eat, chase or move to a more comfortable resting place. However it would be most unwise to assume that this blue was not a threat because of his lethargic ways. There seems little that can be done to catch Potamphith’s interest. He is confident in himself and therefore no challenge will rouse him. He is very well aware of what he can do and what he can’t do. The things he can’t do are obviously very few. Still, he knows and that is all that matters. Your opinion in the matter isn’t important.
The dragon can be irritable, sometimes set off by something as simple as an unwanted presence. Potamphith is aggressive if provoked, though his version of what counts as being provoked seems skewed. When it comes to people and other dragons, Potamphith does not like the unfamiliar and is likely to lash out until they leave him be. It is then that Lysandor will have to pacify him. Despite his dislike of the different he is perfectly content to have those he is familiar with be near him as he lounges. He seems to pay no mind whatsoever to those that he is used to, or even likes, and will even tolerate children and firelizards climbing over his immense bulk without complaint. Some may even find a bizarre security around the large blue, despite his danger to those outside his little group.
This blue’s rider is his restraint. The dragon’s volatile temper could be dangerous if not kept in check. Lysandor is Potamphith’s balance, curbing his aggression, calming him and teaching the blue to be more tolerant of others. Despite his frequent irritation at others and occasional aggressiveness, Potamphith poses no threat to his rider. He rarely will fight his rider on things, though he may complain, he would never do anything to harm his rider, physically or emotionally. Lysandor will never have anything to fear from this hulking blue.
