"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
Bren walked slowly back and forth in the command wing. Originally his goal was just to test to see just what all they could discover, and they figured out a couple of things. Based on the scans, there were a lot more P.U.s here than originally expected, but that only meant more would be eliminated from the picture after he had finished with this city. As Bren began to make his fiftieth pass through the room, the automated door towards the rest of the ship opened. Bren looked over towards the door to see Selene entering the command wing. "Hello again Selene. What brings you to the command wing at this hour? You should probably be getting some rest. We will be preparing our plans for the city here before too long."
Selene bowed to Bren before raising herself up and laughing a bit. "Sorry sir. I couldn't get myself to sleep knowing that you were still awake. If our leader isn't awake and ready when the mission starts, then the whole team will suffer." Selene walked over to where she was standing next to Bren. She looked out through the front viewing window of the H.A.W.K. and stared at the moon up in the sky. "You try to appear impenetrable to use sir, but we all know that you are normal much like us. So you too need rest just the same."
Bren smiled and followed Selene's gaze up towards the moon. "Don't worry Selene. I know what I'm doing. I will be sure to catch some sleep before tomorrow's mission. You can be sure of that." And Bren knew that tomorrow would most likely being one of the most important missions of all.
Selene sighed and then bowed to Bren again. "If you say so sir. I await your commands upon tomorrow's light." Selene bowed again to Bren before turning and leaving the room.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
Bren stood in the command wing again. The day was a very interesting day indeed. They had reached their destination, captured their first P.U., and he had a very interesting conversation with one of them. However, his commander was getting quite aggravated at the decisions that he was making. "I understand sir, but if what he says is true, then not all P.U.s are against us. We should try and find out just how many of the P.U.s here are not against us." Selene walked in behind Bren, looking up at the large display screen, only stopping a few feet behind him and then immediately standing at attention.
"I do not care. You have received your orders. I want all the P.U.s removed from that city at once. Do you understand that? They will plot against us. If you give them the chance, they will obliterate us. You must stop them now before it is too late."
Bren sighed, nodding his head as the display screen turned off. "Well that is just wonderful. If only our commander had the wits about him to think about just what kind of situation we are in. We are on an island of power users. If we started randomly attacking them, then they would most likely overwhelm us. I do not think our ship would last too long if they all came against us." Bren turned away, knowing all too well that Selene was in the room.
"But we must do something sir. If we don't, then even our commander will be against us. Our ship was made to fight against power users. Not against fighter planes. None the less, would you like the report of our guest?" Bren nodded to Selene and then walked towards her. "Our current guest has stabilized. Whatever she was injected with was neutralized and turned into natural proteins. If you wish to question her, she will be awake shortly."
"Thank you Selene. I guess I better start heading that way. The next few hours will not be very gentle." Bren looked down at his watch, noting the time. 'If our commander wants to think we are doing something, I believe I have just the time to do it.' Bren walked past Selene, motioning her to follow him as he began to make his way towards the medical wing.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
"Commander. We are picking up another reading coming from the surface. The scanners are picking it up as a level six." The man at the computer spun around in his chair to look at the commander to get his orders about the situation.
Bren walked over to the computers and looked over the man's shoulder at the screen. The signatures definitely were on the higher end of the scale. They needed to act, but he was hesitating slightly. "Selene. Go down with a few of our men and engage the target. Keep your communicator on standby in case we get further information. This target came out of nowhere so I want all of us on full alert." Selene bowed to Bren before walking out of the command room and heading towards the hangar to be airlifted to the surface. As she did that, Bren turned around and faced the computer again. "Give me a full scan of the target. I want to know everything I can about her before Selene gets in too deep." The man at the computer replied with a yes sir and then returned to work.

"Okay sir. The readings have come through. I can tell you this much sir, whoever that person is, they are not normal. Just take a look at these readings." The man pointed down at the computer screen and moving his hand along the screen to point out certain key points on the readings.
Bren didn't like what he was looking at. Whoever this person was, they were not normal. And not just normal in the whole P.U. unusual, but something entirely different. Not even a normal living being. Maybe their power revolved around some form of acid, maybe that would explain the higher acidic content. "Selene. I want you to approach the target with extreme caution. You understand." He gave his orders to Selene and then continued to read over the readings when the scanners blinked red.
"Sir. Level ten reading detected. They are directly - . . . What the? They are . . . gone."
'Gone!?! How could something show up the scanners and be gone so quickly. This . . . Hmm . . .' Bren looked over at what few readings they picked up during the automated scan for a High Threat warning. There was very little to work with. Bren walked over to another member of the team within the command wing and leaned down next to them. "Check these readings with our database. See if we have any matches." Bren knew he needed to be calm about this situation. If they had a High Threat target in the immediate area, then they needed to keep an eye out for the target and try to seize them.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
Bren was standing in the middle of the command wing, only pacing back and forth as though he was waiting for something. He looked almost uneasy, bothered by some unknown force. As the door opened to the command wing, Bren looked over to watch Selene entering the room. "Hello Selene. What do you need?" Bren kept himself cool and collected as he began to walk towards her.
"Its this target sir. The one that suddenly appeared below us. I don't know . . . but something about her seems off. I just can't quite put my finger on it though. I believe you should come check it out sir." Selene was obviously more upfront with her concerns when it came to speaking with Bren than she was with Everden earlier.
Bren knew that if something was bothering Selene, then she usually had a good reason to be worried. He looked over at one of the higher ranking members on the command wing. "You. You are in charge of the Command Wing until I return. If any new grade six power signs show up, inform me at once." Bren then motioned Selene to follow him and the two of them started to walk towards the place where the target was being held.

One of the men at the computer's was following normal routine, keeping up the scanning procedure for his shift throughout the city. As he was scanning over one of the many districts, several consolidated level five plus blips showed up on the radar. "Umm . . . Commander. I am picking up multiple signals coming from a concert hall further in the island. We are talking somewhere along the lines of . . . I think six. There may be more but they are too close to tell precisely. What are our orders?" He waited for a response and then listened to his commander before acknowledging the commands and turning to face the head of the deck at the time. "Sir, we are ordered to go into full engagement of the targets at the concert hall." The head chief at the time smiled and then looked forward out the massive view deck. "All hands. Full thrust. We are to move to the target position and engage with full authority." As the orders echoed out through the room, the ship's engines finally roared to life again. The bellows from the engines rocked the ruined grounds below as the ship slowly begin to inch forward before finally, its thrusters took full effect and the ship began to move at a moderate pace. For the first time in a while, the H.A.W.K., was on the move.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall" As the two of them arrived in the command wing of the H.A.W.K., Bren turned back to face his passenger so he could finally answer his question. "We are basically a military unit, comprised majorly of non-power users. Our original mission was to come to this island and eliminate all of the power users from it; however, in sight of recent events, I have tried to change that. Some of my men don't agree with my decision, and neither does my commander, but I am doing my best to try and change them as well. I personally am Bren. I am the commander of this ship and all the men on board. Anything that goes on in here usually runs through me first." Bren was originally ordered to never announce his rank to any power user, regardless of where they were. However, he felt secure in his current position. "And Once All Are Gone, I Will Remain"

Raven You have to go through the depths of hell occasionally....
Raven nodded, "I see. Well, that's a shame some won't hear you out. No offense to your soldiers or your commander but only a fool responds to fear of the unknown with blind ferocity. We are no more unstable or untrustworthy than nonpower users. Hell, if anything the only difference is our powers. It's just one thing we have that you don't. Honestly, they get in the way more than help. They are just excuses to do things that a rational person normally wouldn't do."
Raven sighed and spoke slightly grumbled, "However, I had to earn my power unlike those others." Raven then looked at General Bren. "I am sure you can relate, having to earn your rank you understand its influence. Many power users are ignorant just like some of your lower ranking soldiers. They haven't done much to earn their position and do not understand their position. Therefore, they take for granted what they have. The ignorant, inexperienced ones are the power users, the people you need to be careful about." Raven dropped his eyes in thought and to avoid accidentally addressing his frustration to Bren. His entire life Raven had trained nonstop and was able to tap into his power through sheer determination. Unlike most his power was of the mind, it wasn't something that happened accidentally, he had to learn and appreciate it.

"However, that is part of the problem. People fear that which they do not understand. Since people do not fully understand how power users work, then most people fear them." Bren walked over to one of the command desks and clicked a few of the tabs open. While he was talking with this man, he needed to make sure he was keeping up to tabs on any possible nearby targets. However, he had the ship on lock down currently, so even if they found a target, he would not initiate on them for a while. "With me trying to go about a peaceful resolution to all this, I know that I need help with people who also have abilities. So with that, I ask you if you would like to cooperate with me in this endeavor." Bren reached towards the top of the command desk and grabbed a white bracelet. He then held it out towards Raven and just waited to see what the man would say.

Raven looked at the bracelet for a moment and then at Bren, forgetting his vent about arrogance and going back to his calm yet friendly self. "While we are on the subject of understanding you must understand that I do not understand the purpose of the power users yet." Raven took the bracelet and examined it. "I also am not too great of a soldier. Never good at taking orders, I like to do things my own way." Raven looked back to Bren. "If I may be frank I never had any intention of joining your army even if I became your ally. Should I wear this bracelet you must understand that will not change and until I can figure out what the power users plan to do this will only be a trade, you don't attack me, I work with the power users to find a peaceful solution to all of this. I will decide who I protect on the field for my own."
Raven held the bracelet in his hand and finally returned his gaze to the General. "If you can allow me the freedom of personal judgment and action I would be more than happy to help any way I can and see fit. If you worry about trust, don't worry, I am a man of my word, if I do something that offends you then it is your choice to make me an enemy."

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall" "You can do things as you see necessary. As long as your are not outright hostile towards other people, I will see no problems with it. The bracelet is to mark you as an ally of our cause and will allow your powers to work even within our fields." Bren just continued to basically stare at the man. He was in a very serious mode right now, trying to keep himself calm in front of this man even though inside, he was still deeply worried about his comrades. "Just know . . . if you do anything that we see as an act that will break the peace that we are trying to build, I will personally kill you. When I am done, you will be nothing more than a crater in the dirt." Bren's face hardened as he said the last few statements. Bren was putting a lot of trust into this man, if it was betrayed, then there would be problems. And he would resolve them quickly. "And Once All Are Gone, I Will Remain"

Raven returned the glare, "You won't intimidate me." Raven put on the bracelet and checked it out. It was rather comfortable and shouldn't be too cumbersome in battle, "You don't know my power yet, and to give you a hint, you'll find me troublesome even as a crater in the dirt."
Raven sighed and stretched his arms. "Now then, getting that aside let's talk business. What exactly was going on down there?" Raven's sharp look never broke hold of the General. If you wanted to get on his bad side then unnecessary threats was very effective. He wanted to remain friendly but that was a step in the wrong direction.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall" "Don't get cocky. That bracelet can be turned off right along with your powers. It will not be hard to wipe you off the face of the planet if you betray us." Bren was quite serious with his tone. He was putting trust into this person and if that trust was betrayed, then he was going to make sure that this person never had the chance to do it again. "None the less, to business. You ask what was going on down there, we were after a group that is against us. The anti-power government I guess you could say. Selene was trying to go through a peaceful resolution, but I think something went wrong down there. I don't know. None the less, someone was armed with some sort of automatic weapon, and now one of our members is injured and the entire mission was a failure." Bren sighed as he looked out the large view port of the command wing. The sky cast about gave a very good feeling, but he knew that as soon as they started doing something again, it would be right back to hell on earth yet again. And he would have to put his people back in the line of fire.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
Bren charged into the command room of the H.A.W.K. with more anger floating around him then he has ever had before. "What the hell is going on here!?! Someone tell me why our birds were spotted out in the field!" Selene stepped up behind Bren and was going to try and calm him down, but thought it would be best to leave him be for the time being. "Sir. We don't know. We called to the VTOLs but they continued. We have reason to believe it may be Arwin sir." Bren clenched his fist and turned around to Selene. "Selene. Go now. I need you to stop him before he does anything that all of us will regret." Selene nodded and immediately started heading towards the hangar bay.

"One By One, Every Man Will Fall"
Bren stood at the front of the command room, quietly looking back and forth between the people in the crowd. He was irritated. Extremely irritated, at what had happened only moments before now. "As most of you know, just minutes ago, one of our own men had taken it upon his own right to go and seek out a target. A target that was with someone who was cooperating with us to try and come to a resolution in the group that will hopefully limit the amount of casualties either side has to suffer."
"Now before I go on, I am going to ask every single one of you in here what side you stand on. If you stand with me, you will cooperate with me over the course of our stay here in this city. You will follow my orders from here on out no matter what they may be. If you do not understand this, then you can feel free to remain in the cell block until your ride arrives to take you away."
"For those of you that wish to be on Arwin's side, totally opposed against the idea of maybe coming to a peaceful resolution with power users, then you too can go spend the rest of your week in the cell block until someone arrives to take you back. Now then. Show me your answers." Bren stood motionless, time moving almost seemingly at a crawl in front of him. He had hoped that most of his men were loyal to him, but as he waited, over 60% of his command crew left the bridge.
After a few more moments had passed and he was certain everyone else was willing to stay, he let out a long sigh. "Well then. To those of you still left in here, we have a lot to do and most likely not much time to do it. High command is not going to like what I am doing one bit so those of you that are with me might be putting yourself at risk of having to account for all this as well. If you don't want that over your heads, leave now along with them." None of the people who remained left Bren when he finished and he smiled at that fact. "Good. Then let's get started. I need to find out who is and who is not 'evil' out there. Get to work people. We got at most two weeks before High Command comes after this bird." Bren motioned everyone to get to work and begin the process of setting up possible methods to find allies amongst the power users to prove that there was a peaceful possibility to the High Command.
