In the days following the shadowling attack, those weird little creatures that came so suddenly and left just as quick, Steffani had been like most of the students. Apprehensive and wary about the return of the little creatures. They seemed harmless, if not voracious, but the last one... She grimaced quietly, rubbing a thumb over the stitches in her shoulder as she walked out of the undead dorms, her hand sliding down to the strap of her purse. It'd been fixed in the days since the attack, and she'd even found time in the chaos to sew up a few things.

Gifts, if you will.

She did owe a few people for saving her hide. A first year student, and she'd managed to help bring down the worst of the shadows in the student clubs. It was exciting, exhilirating, ex--

She glanced sharply to the left, pausing and scrutinizing the shadows in a nearby doorframe. Just shadows. But those things had been shadows, too, some small part of her reminded.

Shaking it off, Steffani walked past them, rolling her shoulders back as she hurried to the Monster dorms. It'd taken some chatting, especially since she didn't have the forethought to get anyone's names, but she'd remembered well enough what they'd been wearing to make something...appropriate, she hoped. Entering the Monster Dorms, the Patchwork simply...wandered, for a great while, trying to find a door that looked like it belonged to the right ghoul.

Coming up to one, she paused, glancing down the hall left and right. This had to be it. She knocked sharply on the door, and opened her purse, starting to rummage through the never-ending bag for the present she'd made. It wasn't much, but she hoped it'd be enough.

The door swung open when knocked on, having been left partially open by the ghoul inside. The room itself was in slight disarray but it seemed the ghoul was in cleaning mode. The shadowlings had made a mess of everything. What they hadn't eaten they had knocked over, and there were things that needed to be removed from her room and taken out of her sight. Well...maybe just some things. She had gone out and bought a small, pretty box with ornate silver and red filigree along the edging, one she could put a small lock on. A gold ring and a skeletal cameo necklace were put into the box, the lock snapped closed and the key for the lock fed to The Mistress who ate it gladly. The box was put on a shelf. It would be there, but she could not open it unless she broke the lock open...a drastic measure.

For the moment it didn't seem she noticed anyone was at her door as she set to righting some knocked over furniture and then stopping to stare at her half eaten table. It might be time to get a new one...

...Damn.

While Junko hadn't noticed the visitor at her door her minipets had. A purple pygmy fox had spotted her and started chirping and yipping, running from one end of the minipet pen to the other while the others looked on. Sayuri was special. Even Junko was still absorbed in her cleaning, so used to the minipet's antics that she thought nothing of them.

Steffani recognized the room for what it was; disarray was not the fault of the ghoul inside. Hers had looked much the same when she finally returned to it. Holding the poorly-wrapped gift in her hands, she smiled when the door opened, but the smile faltered as Junko went right back in to cleaning. "Uh--"

A purple pygmy fox suddenly popped up, reacting quite loudly to her presence. Steffani laughed a little, clearing her throat. "Excitable, isn't she?" She asked, just loud enough to introduce her presence. "My room looked much the same when I got back. There's going to be a pile of half-digested furniture somewhere on campus." She snorted a little, looking around absently.

Her eyes went to the box, but she didn't remark upon it. She looked at Junko, smiling a bit. "May I come in?" Ever the polite one, at least when it came to other students' dorms. Outside it was gloves off if she didn't feel like being good.

The laugh didn't get Junko's attention at first, it could have been someone laughing in the halls, but the definite voice in her room definitely startled her. She squeaked, jumping and tripping on her own bed. Luckily she landed relatively gracefully, sitting on the bed and staring at the vaguely familiar ghoul at her door. Who...oh! Oh, this was the ghoul she had helped during that attack! Right! "She is, she's kind of um...special..so I'm used to her antics by now. Your room too? That's sad..did you lose much?"

When asked if she could come in Junko gave a nod, picking herself up off her bed and standing. "Yes, of course! I'm sorry. I seem to have cleaned out most of the mess...but yes, of course! You're welcome to come in. I'm Junko, by the way. I'm sorry I didn't catch your name during um..all of that..." She waved a hand dismissively. Yeaaaaah. That.

"Not too much. Mostly just chunks of some old furniture." She'd write to the Creator and see if he could send some things to her. "I saved the important stuff in my purse." She smiled a bit, rubbing her neck. Steffani stepped in to the room, looking around closer now that she was in the sanctum of this student.

"No need to apologize." She promised, grinning a bit. "Thank you. And that's no big, I don't think most of us were worried about proper introductions in… all that." She grinned a bit, shrugging it off. "I'm Steffani." She said, shifting the package in her arms--

OH RIGHT THE PRESENT.

"Oh!" She brought it out in front of her again, holding a poorly wrapped package out for Junko to take. "I um… Well, you saved my undead butt more than a couple times back there. I wanted to make something, y'know, as a way of thanks. It's not much, but…" Considering the shadows had gotten to half of her fabric… |:<

Junko actually looked surprised by the package being offered out to her. What? A present..for her? She didn't get presents very often, and usually when they did they were bolts of fabric! This didn't look like one of those gifts! She dropped everything to take the package being offered to her. Something made for her? Oh boil! What was this?! She couldn't wait to know!

"You didn't have to do that." But Junko wasn't complaining. She sat down on her bed and opened it right up, gasping at the bag inside. It..it was beautiful! "You..you made this?!" It matched one of her favorite kimonos! And it was so well made! She took it out and looked it all over with amazement.

"I've never made a purse before! You made this? Oh, Jack! Thank you so much, Steffani! That's so nice of you!" She really didn't have to do this. She was far too kind!

Steffani smiled, shrugging a little at that. "It's not much, really. It was a good opportunity to practice." She said as she watched Junko unwrap the gift. She lit up a little under the praise, shrugging with a grin. "Yeah," She answered lamely.

"You're welcome." She beamed a little, rubbing her arm sheepishly. "I mean, it wasn't hard. A lot of the fabric I had just lying around, so…" She smiled a bit, going over to her quietly. "It's based off a template I use a lot. Most of my purses are like that, at least, the pretty ones." She gestured to the bag on her shoulder now, which was plain and unadorned. "This one's even easier to make."

"I'm glad you like it." She said finally, smiling sheepishly. "I wasn't sure if you, um, needed one, but…" Can you ever have too many purses? Really? I think not.

She had a template for this? Junko's eyes lit with excitement. "Is your template drawn out? May I try it? I've never made a purse myself, but I'd certainly love to try!" Junko really was impressed by this. It was so nicely crafted, the stitching was beautifully done, and it looked durable. Perfect for a purse! She had never had a proper one before, she usually just carried a messenger bag..this was so nice of her!

"Need one? Oh, yes! Definitely! This is so thoughtful!" Ohhh but now she wanted to make something for her. "..Do you like clothes?"

"Yeah, sure." Steffani lit up a little over sharing templates. That was the best part of designing, getting someone else's template to play with. "Let me see…" She opened the impossibly big bag, starting to rummage through. "Usually I have a couple in my bag to tweak…" Digdigdigrummagedig…

While she was digging, of course she was still listening. The question made her laugh. "Who doesn't like clothes?" She asked, finally pulling a folded piece of paper out of her bag. She held it out, grinning. "That's the one I used for yours. There are a couple, but that's the newest, most recently redesigned one."

She grinned at Junko. "They're pretty easy, once you do it a couple times. Way easier than you'd think." She had more difficulty with clothes than purses, really…
