For some time, Jericho had been leery about doing this. He wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was because it was somewhat of an unknown factor for himself. Or at least, unknown for him right now. Obviously, he would have been familiar with it before.

But, for now, he was going to need to tackle this one day. And it seemed, today was that day. The dragon stood out in a nice clear area outside in the school's courtyard. He had an idea of what he needed to do, but if the first thing he tried didn't work, he wasn't sure what he would have to do from there. In any case, he took in a deep breath, then removed his skull pin.

Immediately, his body began to shift. Scales took the place of skin, and his bone structure altered as his body changed forms. Before too long, he was standing as a large red dragon.

"Holy hell! I'm huge!" he exclaimed as he stared around at his surroundings which seemed smaller now.

That was a phrase Gabby didn't think he wanted to hear at the moment. He was looking for a good, clean spot to use as takeoff and landing, when he heard the rumble of words coming from nearby, and moved to find them. When he passed the last tree blocking his view, he froze at the sight of the red dragon, rooted to the spot in surprise, and apprehension. Something about the sight of him made Gabby feel.. unsettled.

He backed away before he'd be noticed, and returned to the clearing he'd found. There, he plucked off his pin, and took a deep breath as the tendrils of ghostly wisps extended out, covering him in a cloudy cocoon. It grew, and grew, until it finally dissipated, and he was left to resolidify in his dragon form. The last few tufts clung to his head, and he shook it mightily, before storming forward.

"Not so huge to me." Immediately he was challenging, finding himself unable to resist the urge of dominance that overcame him. A puff of icy breath snorted out from his nostrils, and he sized up the red dragon with a haughty glare.

Jericho was busy trying to look himself over when he felt a chill air nearby. There was also an unfamiliar voice here. Turning around, he was mildly surprised to see another dragon there. For a moment, he stared at the other, thinking. There was a bit of knowledge trying to surface to his brain. This dragon. He knew what kind he was! Just... give him a moment.

Oh. Wait. It was just a white dragon. Nothing fancy in the name. Though, he found it interesting that he was able to recall that much. He was going to see if he could remember anything else about these dragons but decided to deal with the one before him instead. After all, it sounded like he was trying to issue a challenge of sorts.

"I think I'm still bigger than you," the red said while sizing up the other. Yeah. He was sure of it. Though, just to double check, he went on and spread his wings, to try and get an idea of his new wingspan while in this form. Damn these things were big. He was.. going to have to be careful about not slapping anything with them.

A low, rumbling growl emitted from deep within, as Gabby inched forward to circle the red dangerously, scratching his claws anxiously in the dirt under his feet. "Size isn't everything." The low growl of his voice muttered. "It's how you use it that matters. And from the way it looks to me, you don't know much, pal."

The majestic movement of a dragon felt like it was missing in this particular red. Gabby could have lunged for the closest wing and ripped it to shreds with his claws, rendering the red flightless within mere moments. He was too open, too exposed. Gabby saw that neck from here, but he wasn't stupid. This was a student - or worse, some weird teacher - and he wasn't going to get caught killing some random Amityville inhabitant just because his pride was at stake.

"What are you doing out here anyway? Other than making us dragons look bad."

Jericho looked fairly indignant at that. Or at least... as indignant as he could with his draconic features. Making dragons look bad? But he was just standing here! With a huff, he tucked his wings back in at his sides. Unfortunately, this white had one thing right... he didn't know much. Along with personal memories, his time as an elf had caused him to lose grip of a number of natural instincts he had as a dragon.

He.. needed to re-learn how to properly be one.

"It's been awhile since I've taken this form. I wanted to stretch out," he huffed out. It wasn't really a lie. Though it wasn't the entire truth either.

"And what's your deal anyway? Jealous of how big I am?"

Gabby stopped casing the dragon when he admitted that there was legitimate reason for his inadequacy. That, of course, meant he was admitting inadequacy. Simply the admittance set Gabby as the dominant party of the two, and he padded back to the front of him, settling down partially while keeping a wary eye on the red.

"Jealous? HAH. I've got nothing to be jealous about, trust me." Gabby huffed out, his large eyes rolling in their sockets. "I just have a lot of pride for the dragons. We are the best creatures, after all. I'd rather not see somebody failing so hard at being one."

At this point, Jericho wasn't even doing anything that would be considered a draconic failure. Gabby was just making insults up to feel better.

"Well... yeah dragons are amazing," Jericho huffed in response. What was with this guy? The red wasn't really doing anything right now, so he was having trouble figuring out how he was supposedly failing at the moment. Now... if he was trying to breathe fire.. which he couldn't at the moment, or attempting to fly... which he also couldn't, then he could understand.

But that wasn't the case.

Hm. How to play this out without revealing too much that he really had no idea what the hell he was doing?

"So... exactly how am I failing right now?" he asked, sounding doubtful.

Gabby relaxed even more at the agreement. Maybe the red wasn't so terrible, after all. He was terrible, just maybe.. not as terrible as Gabby had initially thought.

He folded his front paws in front of him, and shook his read regally. "If I told you that, it would be cheating." This was code for there is no answer. Gabby gave him a secretive smile, and his muzzle cracked open, breathing frost directly at him. He knew the red would hate it. "What's your name? I'm new here, I was beginning to think there weren't any other dragons around."

Jericho snorted at this. Bits of smoke came out through his nostrils. Hm. That was something that hadn't happened before. He was going to have to try and figure it out later. Right now, he needed to deal with this white dragon.

"Right," he murmured before baring his teeth some as some frost was breathed in his direction. Bah! That was cold. Rumbling unhappily, he took a step back, unable to retaliate with flames at the moment.

"Jericho Bloodbane. I'm the only red around at least. What about you? Or do I just need to call you whitey?"

Gabby loved the way he bared his teeth at the frost. It made him slit his eyes with a satisfied air. "Please don't." He growled. "I have a name, it's Gabriel. Thank you for letting me know you are the only red around. You've just given me some good news today." Ouch. He refrained from taunting with frost any further, and instead just dug his nails playfully in the sand. "How old are you? Definitely not an elder. But not too young either.." He was big - there was no denying Gabby's jealousy. But Jericho was a valuable source of information.. and he wasn't nearly as hot headed as some other reds he'd known. "What do you like to do around here for fun?"

A low growl came from deep within his throat as he watched the White. There was a pause as he was asked his age. Riley mentioned that Jericho was old but.. .he didn't know a number.

"I'm old enough," he muttered, dismissing that question. He wasn't really sure if he'd ever really know the full answer to that. Unless someone around the school happened to know that.

"Well. There's games. And always hunting," he replied to the other question. After Riley had showed him how to hunt, he had been practicing. He still needed to improve but hey, the other guy didn't need to know that much. His dragonhood was on the line here!

What was left of it anyway.

Gabby's expression fell in disappointment. What a boring answer, to both questions. In fact, the red seemed to bore him far more than he'd expected. Weren't reds supposed to be a source of infinite amusement for their ridiculous tempers? "I don't really need to eat, so hunting's not high on my list of things to do right now." His sarcastic hiss was evident in his tone. "But what kind of games do you play?" And as soon as he'd repeated the word games, Gabby realized the dragon was possibly referring to sports. Suddenly, Jericho was not so bored anymore. "Are you on the bruteball team? Do you know if they're recruiting? Is there any other sports teams around? I never see anything lately - is there like some hidden underground sports arena I don't know about?"

Gabby had pushed himself up to standing position, and shifted his weight alternately in a jittery fashion.

Oh. Right. The white before him seemed like he could be a ghost. Even then, it wasn't really like any of them really needed to eat anything. As far as the games thing went, he paused. Thankfully, some of the things he knew just from his research on the school.

"I'm not on the team, but I'll play anything. The school has bruteball, as well as a track team. Um... there's also the fitness club which from what I know does a variety of stuff."

Think fast Jericho. After a bit of thought, he decided to toss in a lie. He was trying to see if he could save face somehow.

"I transferred to this place not too long ago so I'm not the most familiar with it. "

Jericho's answer was disappointing. "Oh." He mumbled. "I thought maybe you were on them.." Weren't dragons usually big enough guys, in their humanoid forms? But a transfer student explained away all his questions, and Gabby huffed out in understanding. "So you're as new as I am, huh? Are you planning on joining any of those things? I want to join 'em all, but I don't see any sign ups anywhere. And trust me. I've looked."

Gabby had scoured the school for any sign of sports teams. It was either the off season.. or the permanently off season.

"If I could find them, sure! Competition is good, no matter what the source is," Jericho replied. That was no lie. It would be interesting to join a sports team. Something like that might help him get back up to speed on things. Hopefully. Maybe.

"I've noticed there's a bunch of clubs and stuff. It is kinda weird though that there doesn't seem to be any sign ups for teams," he mused. Why was that?
