Ever since the Mirror Wraiths have gone crazy, Eternal Sailor Tsui had her hands full. It seemed that every corner she turned, there was a new Mirror Wraith, without a Dark Mirror Senshi there, and already she found herself growing annoyed by their presence. It was one thing to deal with a Dark Mirror Senshi, but dealing with their minions? Tsui had smashed one already, all to save the life of a poor Negaverse lieutenant who had made the mistake of crossing paths with it, and in truth she had pitied the poor fellow too much to just walk away. If they were attacking Negaverse officers, than that likely meant that they were going to attack her allies as well, and Tsui wasn't going to allow for that!

She made her way to a familiar garden, trying her best to avoid stepping through the flowers and crops as she sensed a Mirror Wraith nearby. This was where she had first met Ida a few weeks ago, and her mind immediately went to the young senshi's safety. She didn't want her friend to be hurt, especially not by a damned Mirror Wraith!

"Ida? You around here?" Tsui called out, killing the notion of stealth and only caring for the safety of her friend. It was her duty as an Eternal to look out for her fellow Senshi, and that only compounded her concerns. She turned the corner around to the tall corn stalks, and the only warning she got was a slight ruffling as the Mirror Wraith shot out to strike her. "Oh no you don't! You won't catch me off guard!"

Tsui was read to defend herself, putting aside her search for her friend for the time being to clear the garden of anymore threats. This was getting ridiculous!

Hearing her name being called by a familiar voice, Orah nearly broke from her cover, only the fear of the wraith stopping her from running to her side.

"Tsui!" She called from her hiding spot behind the garden shed, her voice forlorn and scared. Thank god the older senshi had shown up... that monster had chased her five blocks before she lost it among the plants in this little garden. She'd heard it sniffing around for her for a good ten minutes and had been terrified the entire time that it would discover where she was hiding. Afraid to power up, Orah had no way to fight it off when running didn't work.

This was horrible... she was so useless. She'd nearly died, and now she couldn't even fight off this weak monster. Hunching down, she leaned out enough to peek around the edge of the shed, trying to place the wraith and the tiger senshi.

Thankfully, Tsui had managed to dodge the incoming Mirror Wraith, thankful for the increased speed that came with powering up and using her many years of gymnastics to keep her balanced and on her toes. She found that it was sometimes better to dodge a wraith than try taking it on upfront, not unless you were certain to hit it. Unlike the last one, this one wasn't feasting on anyone and had its full attention on her, but still, the Tiger senshi was fairly confident that she could hold her own.

No sooner did she dodge did she hear Orah call out, and Tsui looked towards the shed, seeing the young girl that poked her head from behind it. She recognized her from her visit to Farah's Garden, and the fact that she had called her Senshi name was enough for Tsui to put two-and-two together. She had met Ida here, so Orah was Ida all along?

It was a pleasant surprise and Tsui was considering letting her in on her little secret as well, but the Mirror Wraith demanded her attention. She dodged its attempts again, but tried to keep it focused on her, not wanting it to go after Orah while she wasn't powered up. She hadn't noticed the fear in her voice, as she called out to her friend, "We can chat it up later! Wanna double team this thing?"

Orah pulled back and pressed her head back against the shed, letting out a shaky breath. There was... just no way she was transforming right now and taking that thing on. Yes, Tsui was there, but... there was still that nagging fear in the back of her mind, eroding her confidence.

"I can't!" She shouted from her hiding spot, wrapping her arms around her knees and tucking her face into them. She was so useless...

Maybe she would be safe with Tsui around, but it was just too much of a risk for her comfort. After all, she'd seen her friend taken down by Painite, and if she could do it once, she could do it again.

Tsui wasn't quite sure what do say or do in this kind of situation. She had never seen anyone, much less Orah, turn down her request for aid, and it was so distracting that the Mirror Wraith almost took her by surprise. Tsui managed to dodge the strike, tucking and rolling through the flower bed and unintentionally squashing a few flowers but having no time to mourn their loss. At least they weren't Krishna's flowers... but still, that was someone else's livelyhood she just rolled through!

She pushed that guilt trip to the back of the line for later, and she called out to Orah, though she kept her gaze on the Mirror Wraith as it came twisting around for another strike. "What do you mean you can't? Did you lose your henshin pen?"

It seemed likely- after all, given the cluttered mess that was Gwen's room right now, Tsui had problems finding her belongings from time to time. Maybe she dropped it while being chased by this Mirror Wraith? Yeah, that had to be it, and Tsui glanced at the ground to see if she could find it. "Give me a moment and I'll help you look. Just... stay there, okay? I don't want this thing hurting you!"

Had Tsui known the horrors that Orah endured, she might have been a bit more sympathetic, but right now, she had not only a Mirror Wraith to fight, but a henshin pen to find! Wasn't her plate already full enough?

Oh, this was awful. She felt like a coward with Tsui out there, fighting that thing alone... but what could she do? Face tucked into her knees, the teen tried not to cry, knowing it would only make the situation worse. Hopefully the wraith wouldn't be too much for the eternal to handle... a hard concept to imagine, when you considered their differences in power levels.

"Okay." She called, lifting her head long enough to shout around the edge of the building. "Be careful!" Not that telling her that was going to make much of a difference...

What was going on lately, anyway? When she got past her problems long enough to think about it, she had never seen a wraith before, and from what she'd read and heard, they were creatures controlled by the Dark Mirror. What was this one doing running around by itself? Was there a senshi out there somewhere who knew about her and specifically wanted her energy? It was hard to imagine... she'd thus far been very careful about her identity when she was powering up and down. But why would they suddenly be running around on the loose? Had something happened?

Had Tsui been more observant and didn't have her hands full, she would have hear the fear in Orah's voice and immediately known that something else was up. Unfortunately, the Senshi of Tigers was too busy playing dodgeball with the Mirror Wraith to hear it, or rather, she had, but she had misunderstood it for having lost her pen at such a crucial moment. Either way, Tsui was trying to do two things at once, ducking and dodging, all the while looking to the ground and trying to find her friend's pen, knowing that at any moment, the Mirror Wraith would snatch her.

It was only a matter of time, given the rate they were moving at, and one dodge in particular sent the Tiger senshi stumbling into the corn field with a shout. The move seemed to confuse the Mirror Wraith for a moment, and Tsui took advantage of that to crawl along the ground, grabbing and groping soil and roots but not feeling a henshin pen at all. The corn field was close to the shack, and while the Wraith circled around, she crawled towards the shack and poked her head from around the corner.

There, she saw Orah, curled into a ball with her back against the shed, and she immediately knew that something else was wrong. Did the Mirror Wraith get to her already? "Hey, are you alright? You're not hurt or nothing, right?"

Tsui was worried for her friend, so much that she didn't notice the Mirror Wraith that was closing in on both of them. She reached out to Orah, wanting to put a comforting hand on her shoulder, as she continued to question her. "I couldn't find your pen. Maybe you left it at home? Orah... are you alright?"

Orah started when Tsui suddenly appeared, lifting her head to blink at her with wide eyes. The friendly face, the note of concern and the out stretched hand proved to be too much and she broke down again, angrily scrubbing the tears away as they ran down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry... Sorry." She said over and over as she tried to master herself. Now was probably not the best time to get into the big mess over why she hadn't transformed, but... "I didn't loose it... I've got it right here." She said as she touched the pocket the pen was in, feeling the weight of it heavier than she used to.

"I... I can't transform... nothings wrong... I just..." She hiccuped as she tried to explain, but failed to get the words to come together the way she wanted them to. How was she supposed to express the jumble of feelings inside of her right now? "L-long story."

Tsui had suspected that something was up, but she wasn't quite ready for this. She had seen Sailor Ida overcome with self doubt before, but this went deeper, and Tsui couldn't fathom what had happened to cause the poor girl to seize up like this. She hated to cry, so to see someone else do it... almost made her want to cry along with her, but she remained strong, hopeful, and she was certain that she sounded like one of those disgustingly optimistic fools to Orah, as she tried to comfort her. "Hey, it's alright... you don't have to tell me the whole story if you don't want to... at least not yet."

She wanted to be angry that she had just spent a good while searching for something that wasn't lost to begin with, but now wasn't the time to focus on that. The sight of her friend practically weeping had distracted Tsui long enough for the Mirror Wraith to catch up with her, and Tsui gave a startled gasp when it latched onto her feet. Now that it had caught her, it likely wouldn't have let go, and she could feel it beginning to suck in her energy, and she tried to hide her discomfort from Orah, perhaps knowing that it would make matters worse for her friend.

And Tsui didn't want to do that. She tried to appear strong, even though Ida had seen her at her weakest, and saved her life. She tried to be patient, as she tried to comfort her with words. "I don't know what happened, but I know you're stronger than this, Orah... you saved my life from General Painite, remember? And... uh, you may not have realized it, but... you found the perfect flowers for my girlfriend. She really loved them, by the way... heh..."

Perhaps revealing her identity would help? The Mirror Wraith was moving up quickly, becoming more and more solid as it made its way up, and Tsui didn't try to fight it off. Not yet. She had to tend to Orah first...

"I want to!" Orah said finally, a scared expression crossing her face at the mention of the thing that had started this all. "P-Painite... found me. I was so scared... if I power up... she'll sense me..." She finally managed to get out, stumbling over the words. Reaching jerkily, she tugged up her shirt enough to see the edge of the bandages that wrapped her ribs. At least she was healing well... the run from the wraith hadn't reopened the gash, so they were mercifully not stained red.

The sight of the wraith though, that was just too much... She might not be willing to transform, but she was a senshi to the end. She had helped Tsui fight off Painite once, had distracted a youma to let Myr escape... she was not afraid of these little monsters any more, even if she was still afraid of their masters.

Jerking into motion now, pushing away her own fear to help her friend, she lunged over Tsui to drive her shoulder into the Wraith and drive it back. Protecting herself was one thing, protecting someone else would always be more important.

Tsui may have been in the clutches of a Mirror Wraith, but nothing would tear her attention away from Orah, especially when she admitted her justified fear to her. She looked at the bandages, and despite how her energy was being drained away, she could feel nothing but anger and contempt towards Painite, as well as sympathy for her friend. And then, there was the guilt. Did she go seeking Ida for revenge? Was this somehow her fault?

Wasn't everything her fault, in the end? No, perhaps not everything, and a whole damn lot. It was a lot to think about, but there was no time for that. She could feel her strength ebbing away, so quickly, and the sight of Orah trying to push the Wraith back caused Tsui to renew her vigor all the more. She may not have had a lot of strength left, but she wasn't going to allow Orah to get hurt saving her, not again!

"Orah, g-get back..." Tsui said, trying to grab her friend and pull her away before she got hurt again. She was tired of this. She was tired of messing things up, or causing others pain, when all she was trying to do was help. It wasn't fair that others kept getting hurt on her behalf, and she was determined not to allow that to happen again! When the Wraith made it to her waist, it was close enough for Tsui to grab at its sides, and between Orah's shoving and her grip, it could not proceed any further. "I got it... for now... find a rock... or a garden tool... see if you can shatter it somehow..."

Orah stumbled as Tsui pulled her back, falling onto her backside in the grass. She stared wide-eyed for a moment before she blinked and scrambled up. Yes! A tool... they were in a garden, gardens had things that could be weaponized. As much as she hated to do it, she left her friend to grapple with the monster and dashed around to the front of the shed, jerking open the doors to see what she could grab.

Yes! A hoe! That was perfect... a long shaft with a hard metal hook on the end would make a good weapon to smack that thing with. Grabbing up the implement, she ran back around and wound up like a batter on the mound. Giving a little oomph of effort, she swung with her weight at the thing's head, hoping to either shatter it outright, or knock it back enough Tsui could get out of its reach and maybe attack it. Orah had been afraid of it before when she had been alone, but defending her friend gave her courage. In the end, she had to believe that they could do this, as long as they were together.

"Duck!" She shouted as she swung, hoping the other senshi had the sense to keep her head down and not get clocked by the hoe.

Tsui released the Mirror Wraith long enough to hide her head under her arms, and Orah's aim was true. The hoe hit the now solidified Mirror Wraith straight in wht they could only guess was its glassy face, and with a shriek, it went flying back, freeing Tsui from its clutches and smashing against the ground was a loud CRACK. Tsui tried to pull himself to her feet but it was too soon and she went down again, just as the Mirror Wraith struggled to rise and do the same.

"Good job, Orah..." Tsui said, flashing her a proud smile despite her weakened state. She was at least able to pull herself up with her elbows, and she cast a look towards the trembling Mirror Wraith. "Drats... how the hell is that thing still alive after a hit like that?"

She tried to pull herself up again, but the world spun and the Eternal Senshi of Tigers went crumbling back down. She hated herself for getting this weak, especially when Orah needed someone stronger than this, and some of it showed when she looked to her friend. "Can you manage another hit? If you can't, then... give me a minute and I'll see if I can muster up some strength to do it myself..."

She fought the guilt, for now. She'd talk with Orah after the Mirror Wraith was destroyed, when they weren't in immediate danger. Could Tsui do nothing right?

Bluefire Dragonz
PostPosted: Mon Apr 15, 2013 7:37 am

Orah didn't wait to be told to hit again. As soon as she saw it moving again, she smacked it again with the hoe, aiming for the center of its chest with the hardened metal end of the tool. Normally she was not such a violent person, but recent events had pushed her a little to far lately. It helped that the thing looked only vaguely human and that it had already hurt her friend enough that the eternal senshi would ask a civilian to take care of it.

There seemed to be a lot of self-loathing going on around here... Orah hated herself for not transforming and taking care of the monster herself, for being so useless that someone else had gotten hurt. What was wrong with her? All this conflict inside was tearing her apart and she wasn't sure how much longer she could do this.

Drawing back the hoe and giving the wraith another smack, she actually thought for a moment about giving up being a senshi... she'd never asked for it in the first place and obviously, she was no good at it. If things kept on like this, she was going to get herself, or worse someone else, killed.

Finally, it seemed that Orah's pent up rage and the mighty hoe that she wielded was enough to smite the Mirror Wraith. The last blow ended its life, causing it to shatter entirely and crumble into dust with a groan. Tsui could not have been happier, and by this time, she had finally found feeling in her legs again, which caused the Tiger senshi to give a very loud and very annoyed sigh. "Of course, I get the strength to sit up again AFTER you've already taken care of it! Maybe I should leave this whole Senshi business to you since you're kicking a** all over the place..."

The words came out quicker than her brain had time to function, and she remembered Orah's confession mere moments after she ran her mouth. Immediately, Tsui felt a tinge of guilt, and with no Mirror Wraith to worry about, there was nothing to stop it from completely taking over. She sat up, calling to Orah with uncharacteristic meekness. "Um... now that the fight's over, you wanna talk about it?"

Again with the talking. Something Tsui was horrible at, but she'd still try. She could tell that something was bothering her friend, and the moment she mentioned Painite, she couldn't think ill of Orah for her fear. After all, if anyone could invoke fear into Tsui's heart, Painite was definitely one of them, without a doubt. And she wasn't even a General-Queen yet! At least Zinkenite had shown her mercy... Painite? There was no such word. "Come on, it's okay. I'll listen to whatever you have to say. I... may not have a solution, but I'll try my best!"
