Andrew wasn't entirely sure why he cared so much, but he had to go back and double check, and bring a few extras he had found for the club. The boil really liked the idea of building race cars. And bets. Surely there would be bets on who the winners was, he could take a nice percentage out of the pool. He was just going to pop in and drop a few things he had found off for the kits, paint, and some decals nothing fancy, just something for added fun and to make the bets go a little higher.
The flame demon was rather content to just take the things there and leave.

With the beginnings of the Romance Club approaching, Thackery had a great deal of things to do to prepare. He'd worked feverishly to update the ship wall, each time taking a moment to quietly thank the brilliant genius of the person who had thought it up, had collected all of his fanfics, and had even begun to check out some of the better romance novels from the sparse collection owned by their library.
None of this even cracked the surface of preparations, however; he still had to secure a room for use, and that room had to be decorated appropriately, and the list of things he needed to accomplish was multiple pages long and growing. So he had decided to skip down the aforementioned list a little to take out a chunk of the room-related necessities, and headed that way, hoping that the damage had mostly been cleared by now.
Everything was generally quiet, but he caught a glimpse of another boil that looked familiar. He didn't like dogs, right?
"Hello!" he called in singsong, smiling to his classmate. "Whatcha doing?"

Someone called and Andrew looked up ready to greet them back when he saw who, or rather what it was. His wings jumped and splayed posed as if ready for flight and he turned and very quickly attempted to leave room. Noooope. Dog. he was done. So done. Forever done. Thackery didn't even get a proper response as the demon made his escape towards the door.

What?! Not even a proper 'hi' from the boil Thackery had protected before he was trying to bolt. Suddenly suspicious that there was an actual reason for this reaction, he glanced down to be sure that he was wearing clothes today. Upon discovering that yes, he was, he dropped his notebooks to chase after him.
"Hey, wait! I know you're - I mean I think you're new here - but this isn't how we do stuff! You're supposed to say hey back! Or whatever, and...stop running!"
Not in the mood for chasing anyone on two legs (and guessing that a more canine form would just inflame the situation), he got close enough to stretch over and snatch at his jacket, hoping to stop him.

For a brief moment he thought, just for a moment, for a split second, about stopping. He was right Andrew was fairly new. But new didn't really make up for the fact that Thackery was a dog. The last time They were in the middle of a battle situation, it was understandable that he hadn't bothered with avoiding the dogs then. They are all a bit busy, but now. There was nothing to distract the Canine's attention. Andrew didn't even slow down, in fact he went faster.
And then his jacket pulled tight. Oh Jack. It was an attack "Don't eat me!" he flung himself to the floor tail and hands covering his head and face, hoping to avoid being bitten anywhere important. His wings folded in now uselessly flat against his back.

The chase didn't continue for long. Thackery found himself sliding to a stop in front of the boil, staring down at him in confusion...until he caught himself in the flat mirror he'd slipped into the back of his binder, and considered his options. There were no options cooler than 'have two of me', so that's what he went with, calling his reflection into reality. Unfortunately, he still hadn't quite caught on that his other-self acted the exact opposite of how he might want to act, which went terribly in this situation.
With an apparent Cerberus on either side of him, options of escape were kind of slim.
"Eat you?" he asked, frowning.
"Yeah, we're gonna eat you!" the other-Thackery sang, clapping his hands together.
"No, nuh-uh, we're not, don't listen to him. I'm the real one. Shhhhh," he insisted, trying to retain his attention.

One was bad enough for the flame demon, but suddenly there were two dogs. The new one was even saying they were going to eat him. Andrew's tail flickered on the verge of passing out right there but he manage to pull himself together and crawl off to the nearest table, and curl up under it. Flames demons couldn't cry but that shaking was about as close as one could get.
"ssss." he hissed weakly no longer even able to form coherent words as he curled up under the table looking for all the world like a lost scareling.

The boil's escape-and-cower methods concerned Thackery, and he began to move towards him like one might approach a frightened minipet, hand outstretched, slowly sinking towards the floor. He was cut off, however, by the other-him, who saw an opportunity.
"Cornered prey is the best prey of all!" it squealed, diving towards the table. Fed up, Thackery picked up his notebooks and smacked his duplicate as hard as he could, sending it back to its mirrorworld before it had time to spit out any more 'helpful' input. Maybe he should have tried to get the hang of that copying thing a little better before using it out in the open like that.
"Hey, uh, sorry." He plopped down onto the floor, skipping all of the 'approach slowly' steps from before. He did still offer his hand, slightly crooked, palm mostly up. "I'm Thackery. And that was also Thackery. I think. I haven't really decided yet."

The slower movements would have helped, maybe, if it were not for the duplicate that decided to announce Andrew as prey. He let out a small whimper accompanied by a hiss at the duplicate until with a thunk, it vanished. The other boil still approached causing him to back up more. Andrew swatted at the hand with his tail, letting the flame lick around Thack’s arm, hoping that the dog would take the hint and go away. “No you, may not eat me. Ssa-sstay away. Shoo.” Andrew accompanied the tail strike with pathetic little hand motions as if that would somehow help. He had the sinking feeling that he was very screwed. He wasn’t sure where the other dog went but it could come back at any moment, and why was that dog introducing himself? It must be a trick. “Bad dog, sa-shoo.” He rejected all advances. Never mind that with all the hissing he was only half understandable. His flame burned a bit higher with agitation and a certain readiness to fight. Fire started to burn in his hands as he prepared to defend from teeth.

The defensive attack didn't register to Thackery as an attack at first; the flame was hot, and tingled a little against his skin, and he might have considered it closer to a high-five if he were not listening to what the boil had to say. Unfortunately, he kept listening, so the words that came next struck him to his core. Bad dog. He stopped. His ears drooped at first, then went back against his hair. He slumped, slid his palms across the floor, and didn't stop until his chin was flat against the floor, eyes staring up at the boy with a piteous gaze. " What did I do....what did I do to be such a bad dog..." he whined.

“You attacked me! Your friend tried to eat me. Where did he go?” Andrew was becoming more and more confused and lifted the table to make sure the dog wasn’t there. Nope the twin had vanished into thin air. He stared down at the dog on the floor and realized he had the upper hand… wait perhaps this was one of the more obedient dogs? No, no it had definitely attacked him; he stared at it, gaze hard. “You aren’t good at listening either. Give me some space. Back up.” Andrew’s wings might have relaxed a bit now that the dog was in a submissive pose, but he well knew that it could snap up at any moment, so he kept his gaze firm on it. At least, he wasn’t hissing anymore.
