One of Otto's better traits was his punctuality. And lo and behold, when Ami said to be at her place by 2:30, there was Otto knocking at the door. Was he that excited to get his hair cut? It would certainly be nice to get his mop of hair tamed. It was akin to a bird's nest by this point.
The house had probably seen better days, since the attack the night of the Shadowling King. Otto would never understand the appeal of having a home that was so vulnerable.

And ohhhh how Ami loved Otto's punctuality. So many boys on this island were late- most of the girls too! Ami's idea of "on time" was 10 minutes early, so even Lex arriving punctually on time annoyed her occasionally. Otto's arrival was appropriately early, and she appreciated it immensely.
Ami swung the door open, arriving to meet Otto's beckoning. "Hello, Otto," she said, gesturing him into the house. There wasn't any need for pleasantries, not with Ami. "So about that mohawk..."

"Hey.." Otto greeted back, stepping inside and getting his first look at a Hunter's house.
It was impressive for sure. It really did feel like stepping inside a home as opposed to a space that is occupied. Still, it was definitely not for him. Just not practical unless you lived with others. And the constant threat of monsters also deterred him.
Ami's sass was met with an unamused glare over Otto's shoulder.
"Not funny.."

Ami nodded and said, "Ah- that's right, you haven't visited yet, have you?" She nervously folded her skirt, looking around. Hopefully it wasn't too messy for the boy, or ... Oh no was that a spot on the living room table ...
She shook her head. "Yes. Well. We can save the tour for when you can actually see passed your bangs." A crooked sort of smile crossed her face. She began shooing Otto towards a hallway. "Bathroom's down this way, come come."

Otto shook his head, never having seen her place or anyone's in the Towns. "I opted for the fancy penthouse so, no. Never seen any of the inside of these houses." And by fancy penthouse he meant second floor apartment in the Dorms.
Otto moved along as he was shoo'd by Ami, led towards the bathroom to get his hair done. Day where he didn't have to use a beanie or shades to keep his hair out of his face were getting closer.
"Looks nice. The house, I mean."

Ami laughed and said, "Sorry, sharing a hallway with Dakota once again simply wasn't on the agenda." Nor Rep and his two boyfriends. Nor Jerry. Nor Bix. Nor Robert and Petra (their noise at night was definitely more than enough to steer her away). Nor anybody at all. Ami liked her solidarity, thank you.
"Thank you, it took quite a bit of time," she said, smiling rather proudly at her work. It was nice to finally have a place of her own.
"Okay, sit on the edge of the bathtub. No other way to do it," she ordered. "Plus that way you can see yourself in the mirror and tell me all the things I'm doing wrong."

Otto actually gave a short laugh at Ami's stab at Dakota. Otto wasn't a very social person either. Luckily, for the most part, he was left alone.
Otto sat on the edge of the tub, giving Ami an incredulous look. "Oh I'll be sure to b***h about it every step of the way." Otto replied in deadpan. "I ain't had a hair cut since...."
A long pause.
"I... don't even remember."

Ami rolled her eyes. "I'd expect no less." It wouldn't be a sibling bonding experience if there wasn't arguing.
Sighing, she gestured to the shirt and jacket he had on. "Lose the top."

Did Ami just imply that Otto was bitchy?
. . .
Meh. It was true.
Otto looked almost scandalized upon hearing Ami's request, his posture leaning back, and his brows furrowed tightly. "Scuse me?"

Ami gave Otto an "I am so done with you" look.
"Curb the ego, I'm not about to molest you. I have a boyfriend, Otto, and he's not you." Next she gestured up to the showerhead. "I have to at least get your hair wet. It makes it easier to cut. I just don't want to get your clothes soaked while we do it. I could stick a towel over your clothes if you're more comfortable that way, but it'd be much easier if you just lost the shirt.."
She gave him a raised eyebrow. "Have you never been to a hair salon?"

"...Oh." Well.. that made sense. He supposed. It wasn't as if he assumed the worst, but it hadn't clued in what the request was all about at first. Probably embarrassed but too proud to show it, Otto stripped out of his jacket and layered shirts.
"I ain't never been to a hair salon." Otto replied, successfully shirtless, with scars a plenty on display. The garments were simply laid in a pile on the floor.

Ami blinked a few times in surprise as she grabbed the nozzle and turned on the water, testing it with the back of her hand to make sure it wasn't too warm, wasn't too cold. Sometimes you never knew with the Deus pipes. It was a gamble.
"Really? Never?" she said, gesturing for him to lean back against the tub. "Why not?" She supposed money could be an issue, but still. In this day and age she just assumed everyone did it. Then again, she was a somewhat privileged girl from New York. Things were different there.

Otto leaned back enough for however it was Ami needed to get his hair wet or washed. Not like it needed a wash. The whole experience was surreal for the blonde.
"I lived in the middle of nowhere. So mom always just cut my hair." His mom did basically everything for him back then. It was a wonder he knew how to do anything. "Not like I never been to a city or nuthin', it just made more sense to get it done at home." And his mother usually assessed when he needed a cut. If she hadn't he'd likely have a lot more hair.
"I think she was just cheap."

"Well damn," Ami said, genuinely surprised. Maybe not getting a haircut she could see, but never going to a city? She'd lived in the "big city" her whole life. It was just ... unthinkable to not live in urbanization. "Where did you live then?" She knew Otto had an accent, but she'd grown so used to it that it didn't even phase her now.
She slowly began to tread the water through Otto's hair, not enough to soak him to the bone, just enough to make it adaquately damp. "Sorry, is it too hot?"

"Northern Louisiana. I was mostly surrounded by farms n' stuff. I got to go to a city like... once or twice a year?" It could have been more, but his mother rarely left the house, and he never wanted to get in a car with his dad. And vice versa. "Every couple years we went to California to visit my cousins too. They lived in a city." Lucky bastards.
Otto shook his head lightly, considering Ami was busy with his hair. "Naw its fine."
