Appearance:
Akane is a very tiny, shy looking girl with a tendency to hide herself away. She has the white skin and hair of most hellfire, but her waist-length hair is streaked with pale blue and tied back. Her pretty blue irises are often hidden beneath the shadows of her hood. She wears a long skirt and long-sleeved jacket ensemble complete with gloves, boots, and a hood all of which are white. Despite the cloth-like appearance of her clothing it is very durable armor and she carries a vast amount of antidotes, herbs, remedies, and medical tools on her person at all times. The jacket and skirt, while equipped for medical purposes, are removable revealing a sleeveless shirt and pants for the much more combative Chi.

☾ ══════════════════════[ Spiritual Connections ]═══════════════════════ ☽
Sonido Level: Akane has a master level sonido, something necessary in order to avoid damage and heal her allies on the field. She is good enough to leave a vague afterimage behind which is further defined by her white clothing, allowing it to stay behind longer before the opponent realizes she’s moved on.
Cero: Suiting her nature, Akane’s is a Cero Doble. She absorbs the oncoming Cero, blends it with her own energy, and then rebounds it, doubling its power.
Hierro: Akane’s hierro is, much to her misfortune, very weak. She can’t prevent cuts; making it so her skin is very much like a human’s. This is most likely due to the influence of Chi.
Other Abilities: Unlike other hellfire, Akane has access to and can utilize healing kido. She is very experienced in the field and can form “barriers” of sorts that accelerate healing and can be extended to a wide area effect. This makes her both an oddity and an asset to the Hellfire.

Despertar Appearance:
Akane’s long hair darkens to the vivid blue she had in life, her eyes returning to the condition of a normal humans. The wings borne on her back are small but she is still capable of flight. In this form she seems to be a bit more confident and collected, regarding the situation with a cool nature. The scythe she gains in this form is wielded with deceptive skill.
Despertar Abilities:
-Reishi Absorption: Be it kido, the reishi in the air or the power of her opponents Akane can, without a doubt, absorb that reishi and put it to good use. It is extremely useful in her healing as she can use it to increase the efficiency and, using this skill, can easily overcome one of the main flaws of healing kido; reishi density.
-Counterattack: The reishi she absorbs doesn’t necessarily have to be used for the benefit of her healing prowess; it can also be made into a weapon on the battlefield. The power is self-explanatory; absorbing the reishi from an attack allows her to unleash a counter of that power upon her opponent. She can’t mimic the attack; she can only send the force of that reishi back as retaliation, an ability that manifests itself in the form of a wave of blue reishi. The technique can best be thought of as a form of Cero Doble without the additional power.
-Barrier Manifestation: Once again the reishi absorption comes in handy. Akane normally manifests healing barriers for her trade, but with the additional reishi gathered she can form relatively minor but powerful defensive barriers in the form of a solid wall of blue reishi. The strength of the wall is equivalent to a Danku and has the power befitting her rank.
☾ ══════════════════════[ Otro Despertar {Optional} ]═══════════════════════ ☽ (Note: Otro Despertar is for Fantasmas ranked from 4 to 0 ONLY.)
Otro Despertar Appearance:
Because Akane is a healer first and foremost, this form is so rarely used that some question whether she even has an Otro to begin with. Her hair turns silver, the blue wings become pure white and flowers adorn her hair. Despite its apparent frailty the blue gown she wears is built like armor and difficult to pierce. She wields a double bladed scythe, which she can split into two and are connected by a chain that runs through the pole.
Otro Despertar Abilities:
-Reishi Absorption: Is still a prominent skill in this form and can be used as in her Despertar. The difference is that she can absorb more reishi in this form.
-Flowers: Most prominent in Otro is Akane’s ability to form flowers out of gathered reishi which she can use to replenish and heal the spiritual power of herself and others.
-Judgement: Akane holds her weapon before her in concentration as a runic circle stretches out beneath her. White feathers begin to fall from the sky disappearing as soon as they touch the ground and unspeakable power builds in the air around her as she chants: “Under the shining name of the Lord, may the Light of Judgment fall as rain upon those impure souls who crawl in the World. Rest in peace, you who are burdened by sins! Judgment!”
Upon the completion of the chant pillars of light descend from the heavens incinerating whatever stands in their path. The ability has a mile radius on its own and a devastating effect. To make up for the massive amount of power used Akane is forced back to her sealed form and left without any strength. (It takes Akane three posts to fully charge up Judgement.)
Note: There is a color palette swap between Akane and Chi if they are in Despertar. Akane’s blue/white color scheme becomes red/black under Chi’s influence.
☾ ══════════════════════[ Background Information ]═══════════════════════ ☽
Personality: Akane is a sweet but almost ridiculously shy girl; she can barely speak without stuttering and meeting someone’s eyes is a trial by fire in its own right. She’s more likely to blush and quickly look away than have to face someone but she does try her best to make friends. She doesn’t like fighting and avoids it if she can help it, also saying that it’s not her job to begin with. The hellfire is very dedicated to her profession (healing) almost to the point of obsession, and that’s when some of the shyness fades away. When her comrade’s lives are at stake the stutter will disappear and Akane will become much more forward, sterner, and stubborn. A patient who thinks they can boss her around will quickly have another thing coming for the shy little girl can put anyone in their place with a simple, stern look when she’s in “healing mode”. Despite this many wonder at her position of Dos Fantasma. It doesn’t seem logical to have someone so meek in a position of power. Then they meet Chi…
Chi is the split in Akane’s personality, her other half, her ferocious counterpart. She is bloodthirsty, vicious, and without a doubt completely insane. Her sadism is great and she has little sympathy for anyone that gets in their way, tearing through them with the brutal efficiency that she does all her foes. Innocence doesn’t matter to her, what matters is how much blood she can spill. She doesn’t know how she came into existence and she doesn’t particularly care; only existing for the sake of death and destruction. Fortunately Chi only comes out when Akane bleeds, something that the Hellfire who know of her condition and her Diablo Rai take great care to prevent unless otherwise necessary.

History: First and foremost, Akane was born a real, breathing human being. She died in a car crash when she was 14 and like all souls she arrived in the Rukongai and was assigned her “family” to live with. She ended up in a surprisingly well off district and was adopted by a family that cared for her dearly. Akane lived this life happily and worked hard to provide for her family, because of her spiritual power she soon forgot her life in the World of the Living in the favor of the one she had in Rukongai. She can’t remember how long she lived there until the blackouts began. She would wake up in the rougher parts of Rukongai covered in blood and would stumble her way to a stream shaken and scared. Her family questioned her disappearances but since she always washed off the blood she merely told them that she went for walks and eventually the matter was dropped. As she got older the episodes got worse and Akane resolved to do something about it, without a word to her family she joined Shino Academy.
They weren’t pleased and she didn’t exactly give them a reason but they accepted her choice. She excelled in studies on kido and exercised excellent control of her spiritual power, honing it to a fine point. Her talent was such that she was recommended for the 4th Division but instead chose the 12th upon graduation. In her time at the Academy Akane’s blackouts had diminished to nothing. For a time she was at ease and eventually the incidents faded into the background of her mind. The turning point came with an unexpected injury. Blood spilled and suddenly Akane woke up strapped to a hospital bed, disoriented and confused. She was informed of the situation and thoroughly shocked by the information given. Chi, a second personality, was the source of her troubles. Understanding this, Akane and the 12th Division took action to protect both her and others.
The lab was deemed too dangerous for Akane, anything could happen in 12th, so she was transferred over to the 4th whom had rarely seen battle. There she learned to heal and developed an obsession with it as Chi’s destructive nature disturbed her and she wanted to heal instead of hurt. Time went on like this and believe it or not Akane made friends not just in her own Division but also in others. A few discovered Chi, but with time even the destructive personality seemed to sort of calm down. Then the fight came.
There was no warning, not really. How could they have expected what would happen when they were dispatched to Rukongai’s outskirts? Certainly not that the team of shinigami they were supposed to provide healing aid for were now hollow… Akane was cut and Chi was unleashed… but this was something that the others had never seen before. She went absolutely mad slaughtering the hollow, and then, the rest of her team. Looking back on her memories Akane can never understand what drove Chi insane like that though she’s thought of asking her. The last thing she remembers is staring down at one of her best friends, the length of his blade buried in her chest as he stared on in horror. She smiled, whispered a goodbye, and was gone.
And for her sins she was sent to Hell.
Akane slept and slept and slept some more. Chi was the part of her consciousness awake for the entirety of their stay in Hell and it drove her nuts like nothing else. In her time there she encountered her future leader, Sestran. To say that their meeting was not kind was, to be frank, an understatement. Chi was an aggressive and sadistic soul that had only been twisted further by her imprisonment and therefore not someone very willing to take orders. Majesty was used on her and she was forced to bow to the man’s will. Hatred burned in her heart for this act, something she has never forgiven him for, but the escape from Hell seemed to be worth it.
Chi faced the cool night for only a moment before something changed and suddenly she was someone who had been sleeping for far too long. Confused. That was one word to describe Akane’s state of mind when she came to, not as the shinigami she had been, but as a Hellfire. Things were explained to her in time but she still guarded her secret, her loyalty, and her past… No one would ever know of the young woman’s prior affiliation with the Soul Society.
The more time passed the more time Akane devoted herself to her work in the Hellfires. Her purpose was to heal and she felt she owed Sestran something for freeing her from hell (something Chi argued vehemently against). Whereas Chi was filled with a black hatred for the man Akane was thankful for his help and willing to repay it with loyalty. Besides that all her friends and everything she had known was gone. She had no place to go… So she at least stayed with the people that had really begun to matter to her in her new place in the Hellfire.
