 Gulliver was still fuming about the arrogance of the faun he'd brought into custody. The male had just assumed a 'sorry' would right all the idiocy that he'd displayed? Not only had the faun spoken disrespectfully towards himself, but in his speaking to Rais he'd shown some serious attitude and spoke to Rais as if he was stupid.
The male needed to get away from duty for a bit, after that episode there was no way he wanted to return to the forest that day. He walked around the Tree's center and up the ramps not aiming for his own nook but to Kishi's nook on the second floor. When he arrived there he knocked lightly on the door, he felt if anyone could cheer him up... It'd be Kishi.

 Kishi was just starting her spring cleaning in her nook, going through her few boxes of personal items. She figured if she didn't use them in the last year, she didn't need them and another faun might need it. She also thought maybe the newcomers could use some stuff too, since she heard they didn't come with much.
The knock on her door startled her. She wasn't expecting visitors and unexpected company was rare these days. "It's open!" she hollered at the door as she shoved a few things in the open box in an attempt to quickly make her nook presentable for guests.
"Gulliver," she was pleased to see her friend. She hadn't seen him in a while, but she knew he'd been busy with his duties, so she was delighted that he thought enough to stop by to see her when he had some free time. "How are you-" she had hopped up to greet him, but stopped just short when she noticed he didn't seem to be in a good mood. "What's wrong?"

Gulliver gave her a smile, he was right she was exactly what he needed. "Hi Kishi, may I come in?" he waited for her to nod and step back so he could enter, and then he entered her home "It's been a very long day, and it didn't help having to deal with a faun who felt like expressing himself against the Tree" he didn't give a name of the faun causing his mood, instead he turned to Kishi. "I'm hoping your day was better then mine, I'm not sure what could make mine worse at this point". Gulliver reached towards her hand aiming to take it in hers if he could.

Kishi returned the smile, though she was concerned about what Gulliver had told her. She'd never heard of such a thing happening and she couldn't understand why any Faun would speak against the Tree. "What would prompt a Faun to do that?"
"Oh my day was simple. I started my Spring cleaning," she told him as she tucked her hair behind her ears. She allowed him to take her hand and felt her cheeks warm a little. It was a gesture she hadn't expected, so it illicited an appreciated, but nervous and awkward response. She patted the back of his hand in a comforting manner. "Did you want to hit the pub and grab a drink, maybe?"

Gulliver held her hand for just a moment then let go, "To be honest I really don't know. I heard a crash in the woods, found the source of the commotion and when I go to find out what it was..." he threw his hands up in defeat "This faun starts reaming me out that I should leave him alone that if I wanted him to come to the Tree for some reason I could forget it, and that he basically didn't have to listen to anyone in the circle cept Mo." Now he was ranting, but it felt good to vent it and get it off his chest. "I eventually took him into custody and brought him to the Tree, and he starts giving attitude to Chieftain Rais.... On top of that he then proceeds to try and take back everything he said and apologize cause he was in a bad mood from falling from a tree... Like that's going to make things better and we can ignore it, let him go on his merry way." Gulliver took a breath to calm down a bit before he got too riled up.
The male paused and smiled weakly, "You know I think I could use a drink right about now, yeah lets go get one"

Kishi's eyes grew large and round as Gulliver told her of the insolence of a fellow faun. She was stunned speechless. It was beyond her understanding how anypae could bite the hand that feeds them. "I can't believe a Faun would do that."
It was nagging at her to know who was so brazen among them. "Am I allowed to know who did it? Anyone I might know?"
She pushed the newly filled box back against the wall, then dusted herself off a bit. "Alright, let's go." She moved passed him and opened the door to her home, holding it for the Captain of the Rangers. She knew Mojo's brew would be exactly what he needed.

"That makes two of us who was shocked to say the least" he hadn't even told her all of what happened and yet she was shocked. "In all honesty the only ones who know he's still in the Cellar is the Chieftain, Seer Vanya and myself, and of course any faun they shared the info to." he sighed, "Of course it's going to tie up some of my Rangers helping to guard Tafari.... Which is a pain."
Gulliver followed after her "Thanks, I appreciate the ear", he exitted her nook and waited for her to close up so they could walk together do the tavern

Kishi considered the name for a moment. "No one I know. Odd, I at least know all the faun here by name, if I don't know them personally." She was merely thinking out loud as they walked down the ramp towards the first floor. "So he's been detained? That's ... I don't think that's ever happened, has it? Poor Rais...."
She had empathy for their chief. She's heard a lot of gossip in the tree lately about how over-burdened he's been with all that's been going on. The hurricane, the attacks on his wife and Seer, the newcomers, and then whispering of other trouble coming. Sometimes Kishi thought they were living in a terrible time and dreamed that she'd been around during the peaceful isolation when the Tree was hidden and tucked behind the island away from Pae'il eyes. "I think I'll leave an offering for the chief during my prayers tonight." she said quietly as afterthought. She remained a very devout Faun, considering they were growing rarer and rarer as more Faun explored the island and were exposed to the carefree and dangerous "do what I want" lifestyle of the winged Pae'il.
As they approached the pub, Kishi sniffed the air. "Oh, do you smell that? A sure sign of spring to smell the strawberry brew. It's my favorite, have you ever had it? It's delicious!" She practically pulled Gulliver into the pub, eager to share her favorite flavored drink, and completely distracting herself, and hopefully him, from the days woes.

He'd been about to reply to her thoughts when she'd pulled him to the tavern "Strawberry brew? No I haven't, it sounds interesting" He moved ahead and ordered to mugs of the brew, and took them. "Let's go sit back here" he motioned a corner of the tavern that wasn't too crowded and then led the way to the table. Setting the two mugs down he sat down.
He'd wait for her to settle into her own seat before he spoke again "Two seasons that fawn will occupy the Cellar, I personally think our Chieftain was generous... Thing was even after all that, he wanted me to grant him a personal favor of sorts.". Gulliver lifted the mug and sniffed it then took a gulp "Mmm good stuff"

"It's seasonal, so if you like it, make sure to get all you can. I crave it all Winter." She mentioned with a chuckle as she moved towards the table. She took a small sip to taste it and savor the first taste of the year. A grin spread across her lips and she watched Gulliver with interest to see if he'd like it. She was delighted at his reaction, glad he liked it too.
"Wow, two seasons. No one, that I have known, has ever done anything like that, so I am not sure if that fits the crime or not. Though I guess two seasons is a long time to have to sit alone to think about what you did wrong." She took a chug of her strawberry brew, as any good faun would. An audible "ah!" was remarked as she wiped the corner of her mouth with a finger.
"So what kind of personal favor could he possible feel he was entitled to after all that?"

"Seasonal huh, wonder what the other seasons will bring... I'll keep my eye out on that one for certain." He chuckled inwardly seeing her take the chug of her brew. He heard her question and thought about how to word it before continuing "He apparently feels his daughter and her chick are unable to fend for themselves, after arrest before coming to the Tree he wanted me to let him take her food for the infant... And after Rais passed sentence, he wanted me to take a note to her of his whereabouts. Both requests I declined to allow."
As he talked with her he felt like a burden of sorts was being lifted off his shoulders, though of course in all reality it wasn't, he still had the ongoing prisoner to deal with. He'd much rather be dealing with other issues but he'd manage for the time being.

Kishi set her stein down, and held it between both hands for a moment, as she listened to Gulliver. "A chick infant? What is that? And ... I didn't think it possible little girls could have babies, but still, isn't a chick a baby bird?" She fidgeted with her mug trying to make sense of the mental image Gulliver's words caused.
She pictured a child Faun and baby seagull sitting helpless under some shanty in the woods. Faun wouldn't live like that, would they?
"Will someone be sent to take care of her if she's that helpless? A child shouldn't be left alone, even with a baby pet." Kishi's concern was over the welfare of the child in question. She didn't feel pity for any Faun who committed treason, because she felt that was a slap in the face to every Faun in the Tree and on the island. Rais and his Circle work hard to make sure they are safe and taken care of and anyone who'd disrespect them deserves to be cast out and shunned. But an innocent young girl is another story. That poor child is being raised and taught wrong things by her wrong father. Kishi shook her head at the thoughts and took one last chug to finish off her strawberry brew.
"It's horrible you had to deal with it. I really hope that doesn't incite other islander Faun to follow that example. Last thing we need is more trouble like that." She noticed he didin't seem to be relaxingt, so she wanted to sway the conversation to something else to take his mind off the new prisoner. "So what were you out doing today before you were so rudely interrupted? I wonder often what kind of stuff Captain of the Rangers does out on the island all day."

Gulliver scratched his chin a moment while listening to her "I don't know much about this daughter or the granddaughter, he did call the granddaughter a chick, I don't really understand it myself but at the time I didn't really think much of it either. It may be worth investigating if only to find out more about this bird. As for someone being sent to care for them, it wasn't the instructions of Rais that I am aware of, and I do not have Rangers to spare to play babysitter. I need to get some recruiting done I think."
He stopped speaking to take another swig of the brew, it was good and he was glad she suggested it. "That makes two of us that hope we don't find more Faun of like mind to Tafari." he paused only a moment then continued "Patrolling the area, making sure that we are safe as we can be, and of course watching for signs of the lost acorns. That's pretty much what I had been doing when the poop hit the wind"

Kishi considered seeking this daughter out to see if maybe she could help in some way. Afterall, the child might be lonely and need someone to comfort her. She could bring some bird feed for the pet maybe too. "Do you think it would be okay if I checked in on the little girl?" she asked curiously. She'd of course not do it, if it meant breaking protocol, but she couldn't shake the nagging thought of a child being alone and scared. She had no idea they were talking about a full-grown adult who is more than capable.
Kishi made a sad face at the mention of the lost acorns. "I didn't realize the acorns weren't recovered yet. I tried helping, but was told to go back to my dailies after a while. I thought that meant they were found. I wonder if they have hatched." She fidgeted with her cup a little, staring into the emptiness a moment before looking at Gulliver. "Did you know I was a lost Acorn once?"

"The chick? I think she has her mother for care, I don't imagine that her mom is that bad a caregiver that she'd be incapable to care for her. At least I'd hope not, but then Tafari didn't even feel she could provide food for the chick" he frowned in thought over this one."I don't know, Rais certainly didn't prohibit it, I personally won't be going out of my way, I suppose it's up to you Kishi"
He finished off his brew and set the mug down contemplating a refill, the strawberry brew was in fact quite good. "As far as i'm aware they are still missing, Rais hasn't made any indication they've had any sign of them found. As for hatching, I suppose that is possible." he watched her fidget for a moment and then heard her question "No, I didn't know that, but I'm glad you are not lost anymore, wouldn't have had chance to become friends if you were lost tot his day"
