Camilla had never been so tired of one season. Summer was too hot, fall was too breezy, and winter was plain freezing. She was glad that spring was slowly popping out of winter and the cold was gone. She didn’t tell anyone, but she definitely more than wanted the warmth of spring.
When she first became a DMC Senshi and discovered her sphere, she had been getting more and more curious about Nightshade and other plants. Her parents realized this with a bit of sneaking around and ended up getting some supplies as a surprise gift. It was definitely surprising, but wasn’t so surprised that her parents were sneaking. She was glad that most of her DMC stuff could be hidden away or just looked like ‘normal’ items to anyone not powered.
She at least thought her parents were not powered. It was kind of hard to tell, and Camilla laughed at herself.
It always made her wonder who was powered and who wasn’t, who had the alter ego and who didn’t. She thought about it a lot when she had first powered up, scared of making friends with the wrong people, but eventually Camilla knew that there wasn’t much help thinking about it. C’est la vie, right?
Camilla opened up the door to the patio of her room where there was once snow covering. The snow had always been untouched since she chose not to step outside there with the cold, but the melted ice seemed to have cleaned it. She nodded to herself, thinking that it was clean enough to add decorative plants to. Since Nightshade was deadly, Camilla didn’t think that they would be easy to find and instead chose marigolds, cosmos, and zinnia. She had done her research before telling her parents which seeds to buy and these were supposed to be easiest ones to grow. “I can handle this, right,” she questioned as she looked at the packets.
The plants may not be Nightshade, but at least she knew they’d produce pollen. Camilla grinned. Her magic would cause people problems, but it didn’t mean that regular pollen wouldn’t. “At least there will be some sort of suffering with those with allergies.” She snickered as the thought passed through her mind.
She went to the family storage room to pull out the dirt and pots her parents had bought. It took a bit of strength to carry everything at once, but Camilla was glad that she got a lot of exercise at night as Mimistrobell. It certainly made things less stressful. Her parents were also not around so they would not suspect that their daughter was doing anything different from before. Once back at her patio door, she put the bag of dirt on the floor and arranged the pots, where the big ones were on the outside and the smaller were on the inside.
Three pots for three different flowers. Perfect.
Camilla first took the three pots and filled them up about three fourths of the total amount that she wanted. She had never planted things before, but it would definitely be a learning experience. At least, she hoped it was. She sighed as she sprinkled each packet of seeds on their separate pots. Afterwards, she filled the dirt up a little bit more. That was enough dirt right?
There was a part of her that wished she knew someone that would be good with plants. Camilla wanted flowers, but all she could think about it all was ‘ugh’ and ‘why did she even try’. She shook that off as quick as she the thought had come up. “Okay. I need water!”
She quickly read each of the instructions for the flowers, deciding how much water the flowers needed and how often and made a mental note of it. Camilla made a quick trip to the sink, got some water, and watered the pots. Now Camilla just had to wait and see. There was a part of her that really wanted it to work. At that point, she’d realize if she could try and grow some other stuff, like possibly vegetables for her parents. That ‘organic’ stuff was all the rage, wasn’t it?
“Please work…” Camilla really didn’t want to fail.
