It had been a grand turtle she surmised. Afterall, its shell was so large so the body must have been equally huge. But now the shell was hers, its insides pecked incredibly clean by scavenger birds and busy little ants. She broke the ceiling of the shell with short kicks so it now sat a bowl. But what to do now. She had her broadleaf backparcel. She kicked the upturned turtle shell around some more until it bounced off some rocks. Back and forth, she played with the boulders and invisible enemies. When her feet faltered in speed, her tail came with the swiftness. Finally settling down, she had worn herself out. It was a fun game. Now for a bath, the highlight of her day. She usually had flowers strewn across where she swam, but this sturdy shell should float. Loading it up with flowers, herbs and sweet smelling grass, she took the shell by her mouth and walked into the water. Serenity, here they came. And float did the shell do fabulously! The water was smooth that day, flowing silently along as Drowning lay by the bank, occasionally dipping one hoof in far enough to enjoy the cool liquid without getting completely wet. She wasn't quite sure where her twin had got off to, but here in the quiet, she didn't worry much about it. Searching was far more adventurous than she, he was bound to find some fun without her. ...Although, perhaps this wasn't quite the quiet she'd hoped. She scrambled to her hooves as she realized just what was floating there, and swallowed before lifting her nose into the air, so that her voice might be better heard. "Are you all right?!" There was a definite note of worry in her voice.

She lost count how many times Doom found herself in this situation-- trying to relax only to be bothered. She all but shifted to her wasp form to flee from the intruder but she would look mighty silly flying around with a large turtle shell above her. She doubt she would have any visibility. All but stomping she asserted herself mentally. She was here first. The intruder would leave.
Sighing she lifted her head up more above the water and barked out, "This isn't quality girl time. Go on, leave!"

Startled as much by the irritation as the answer, Drowning hesitated, tripping along the edge of the water as she kept pace with the flow. "But," she finally called out, her ears flicking nervously, "are you stuck? I can...." She trailed off there, not at all sure what she could do, but knowing that she should at least try to think of something. Searching would, after all, were he here!

What. The. ********. Doom shook her head sadly, thoroughly damning the MotherFather for giving her fire but not the necessary range. She smouldered under the other bewildered doe's gaze.
"Have you lost your common sense? Is your sense of comprehension stuck elsewhere? Can't you see I'm trying to enjoy some relaxation but a little bug keeps on pestering me" Doom noticeably turned her back to the bank, swishing her tail underneath the waters, playing with the current. Doom's hair wavered slightly.

Drowning stared, dancing back as realization struck her. Bug... meant her. Before she even knew it, her mouth had opened again. "You're HORRIBLE!"

"And you're still daft!" she all but sang her response. Mmmm, the sun was really nice here.

"Rather be daft than like you!" Drowning called back, stamping her hoof. She'd been trying to do a good turn here! Was that such an awful imposition?!

And this is where many failed with Doom. They thought if they brought light to her disposition she would be aghast and in a move of self-loathing would change. Yeah, right. She owned her propensities for leaving trails of destruction. In fact, Gloom and Look-See were more of her ilk. They enjoyed what they did. It was nature, a landscape where only the smart and stupidly luck survived. She wasn't too ruffled.
"I love being me. It's just so much fun." A cool breeze came and left as if agreeing with her. Sighing a content sound, she was still turned around, ignoring the doe.

"I want an apology!" Drowning decided, when she realised that anything she had to say to Doom's announcement really wasn't fair. "You didn't have to call me names just because I was trying to help and interrupted you instead!"

Doom almost laughed. An apology? In what universe was this? Her tail was swishing gladly underneath the current. She was just in too good of a move. "You just admitted to interrupting me. Rude and daft, you owe me an apology!"

Drowning huffed for a moment, stamping a hoof again. And then she sighed. "I'm sorry," she said, the words grudging but unqualified.

"Apology accepted," Doom crooned. "No go away" it was the nicest reminder she gave yet.

Drowning opened her mouth, then snapped it shut, growling to herself. She could argue herself hoarse that she deserved an apology, but she knew very well that one would never come. Her head dropped and she stared at the muddy bank for a moment before rearing one hoof back and knocking a large clump at the floating shell. That, she was NOT sorry for!

Doom's eye snapped open when her turtle shell knocked into her delicate skull. There was mud on the side. Spiteful little thing this doe was. Very well, shifting to her wasp form she crossed the distance that spanned between them. It was there she noticed the very plump doe. With children. Many. Oh goody. Her voice flitted through the doe's mind, words spoken and understood but her waspmouth not moving: I can't say childbirth will be easy. It most decidedly will not be but that's of your doing. Your children will sing my name and know my designs. They'll be hale and hardy and unlike you, have sense about them.Blessing complete, she returned to the waters, lifted her turtle shell and flew off. Perhaps the shell can make a nice boat for her ghost owlcat, Key.
