Had it really been that long? With one arm looped around his Raeven’s and the other pressed against his temple, Leo couldn’t even fathom how long these photos had been lost. Upon development, they must have fell from their clippings and remained forgotten until mere days ago when he was cleaning out his dark room to renovate (don’t get him wrong, sleeping on the couch was comfortable enough but eventually it was time for Ethiriel to have her own room, after all.)

Two years… or a little over, to be exact. That day at the beach with the rest of Lab 305’s members, long before he had become an owner himself, when everyone had gathered to have a grand time. While he remembered going and enjoying himself, Leo was a bit ashamed that he hadn’t even seen Anita since that day. He promised her, he recalled, that she would definitely receive copies of said photos once they were finished. Idly wondering if she would even remember, a small, cold hand gently clutched at his sleeve, dragging him out of his daze.

”Leonard, how far lost in thought must you be to remain so quiet?”

Leo almost didn’t hear her among the crowds, but having been with her for over a year now he had become accustomed to her voice and instantly recognized it, despite the noise. ”I’m sorry, Eth,” he said, chuckling as his free hand reached over to squeeze her arm. ”I was just thinking about how long it’s been since I’ve seen this friend. I’m sure you’ll like her.” Patting her shoulder twice, Leo’s hand fell back to his side as their destination drew nearer. Game Depot, if he remembered correctly, was where Anita had told him she worked. While he didn’t know if she worked today, it wouldn’t hurt to drop by. Perhaps even picking up a new game for his ever diminishing free time would be a good idea.

With no door to stop them, Leo and Ethiriel meandered their way into the store, his attention drawn to the desk. It seemed no one was there at the moment, but there had to be someone manning the store. They must have been in the back. Looked like it was time to browse their selection; it had been so long since he sat and watched TV, he had no idea what was new or what had come out a few years ago. Oh, well. Not like he had too terribly much time to waste on video games.

In the back there certainly was someone and that individual exited the door just a few short moments after Leo and Ethiriel entered the store. It was an older man, not quite corporate type but definitely a manager -- of course, one could easily tell that from the name tag on his shirt which also listed his title. He glanced around for a few moments, spotting Leo, squinting in recognition of the frei accompanying him, and then his eyes locked onto the unattended register. "Did she leave already?" he mumbled to himself, stepping past the two potential customers with a soft 'excuse me' and 'I'll be right with you'. The manager walked towards the door, leaning out to the rest of the mall and giving a strong shout. "Anita!"

An arm shot straight up from behind the counter, in tandem with an even toned call. "Yep!" A short giggle followed, one that didn't match Anita's voice. The manager approached the counter and leaned over as Anita retracted her arm and all but disappeared again. Short, hushed discourse was held between them that, with the store being mostly empty and quiet, wasn't that hard for the two newcomers to overhear. There was a little playful reprimanding but now that she'd been found his voice wasn't nearly as serious.

"There's two customers. Just help them out and you can head home." He gave a friendly pat to the counter before moving back towards the other end of the store, smiling to Leo and Eth again.

With a single bounce, Anita was on her feet. It only took a second to straighten her braids but she seemed a little preoccupied looking at something on the floor while she started her sales pitch. "Hey, welcome to Game Depot, what can I do for you to--" when she finally looked up and saw the familiar tanned face alongside a very unfamiliar female with no lower body, the practiced tone and smile gave out and she stared for a few seconds, brows lifted, "--day?" Anita finished with much less zeal than she started. Beside her, behind the counter, several clawed fingers curled over the edge and a green head of hair lifted just enough to flash a set of equally green eyes. It only took a moment but when they landed on Ethiriel the expression shifted to match Anita's surprise.

With short nods Leo had dismissed the manager, but it wasn’t until he called out that he had given him his full attention – and even that was short lived. As soon as her arm was seen he couldn’t help but grin; not so much from her apparent energy but how she presented herself, even at work. However, as soon as she had bounced up his attention was now in his camera bag, searching for the photos he had long owed her.

Ethiriel had noticed Cruz’s scent as soon as they had even entered the store but remained silent as she was led around. Leo, on the other hand, still hadn’t noticed the mistletoe, too amused by Anita’s sudden shock. With the photos in one hand, Ethiriel in the other, he approached the counter.

Almost as soon as he reached its marble tops he stopped, taking a moment to stare down the unexpected fourth head to their party. Leo’s brows raised, his smile turning into a smirk as he let out a small chuckle. ”Hello, Anita. Long time no see,” he said, reaching his hand out with the laminated papers clutched carefully between his thumb and forefinger. ”It’s been a long time coming, but just as I promised here are your photos.

Oh, and I’d like you to meet Ethiriel. Ethiriel, this is Anita. I met her… what, almost two years ago?”
he said, the question directed at his human counterpart.

”It is a pleasure, Miss Anita,” Ethiriel said, dipping her head in a small bow.

”And who is this?” Smiling at the male Frei, Leo mindlessly offered his hand regardless of whether or not he would understand.

Anita closed her mouth upon their approach, eyes scanning and examining the frei at Leo's side as quickly as she could while he was preoccupied with his bag. Her fingers fidgeted nervously atop the counter when he approached, a slight anxiety still present from him thanks to her lingering embarrassment from both of their meetings.

"Hey," she forced a smile and a quiet laugh once he approached. Her attention quickly drifted back to the female frei who was lead along by Leo's hand and didn't seem to look around overly much and she certainly wasn't making eye contact. Anita's eyes quickly snapped back to Leo's as he held the photos out, smile having faded while scrutinizing the frei. She took the photos hesitantly, careful not to get fingerprints or smears on the picture, but barely had time to look them over before introductions occurred.

Ethiriel. She had no idea how it was spelled but her immediate thought was its phonetic twin and she could certainly say that this frei was most definitely an ethereal sort. Lost in thought for a moment, Anita fumbled her response when she realized Leo trailed off to ask a question. "Oh-- y-yeah, just about!"

The bow Ethiriel gave threw her off about as much as it did Cruz who, all the while, quietly kept his sights on the frei. He'd scarcely paid any mind to the exchange between Leo and Anita, already gathering they knew each other from Leo's greeting, though he did notice his guardian's sudden trepidation and offered her quick glances to make sure everything was fine. When Ethiriel finally spoke, his fingers soundlessly clawed at the counter and his eyes widened but he too noticed her lack of accurate eye contact.

Once attention was brought to him, Anita looked down and almost instantly seemed more at ease, holding the photos carefully with both hands. "This is Cruz and he's not supposed to be seen by customers." Her tone trailed off to a more comical one as she narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips at Cruz's head. The frei's eyes locked onto Leo's, then his hand once it was offered. Without any hesitation he reached out to take Leo's hand but, once gripped, he made no movement to shake. Instead, he used it to pull himself up so he was hovering, utilizing it as leverage to float higher than the counter so his ribbon splayed across it, and instead leaned close to Ethiriel's face, trying to lock eyes with her. Experimentally, his free hand reached out and gently cupped her jaw with his fingertips, thumb lightly directing her chin so her head turned in his direction.

"Wh-- h-hey, Cruz! That's rude!" Anita promptly clutched the neck of his shirt but didn't pull, just holding him for now, "Get out of her face."

As Cruz grabbed hold the photographer nearly made the motion himself, stopping and leaning his head back once the Frei pulled himself higher. Sometimes their weightlessness took Leo by surprise, even when linking arms with Ethiriel on their walks, and he always had to remind himself of what they were. The odd thing, however, was that he didn’t push Cruz away from Ethiriel – instead, he chuckled and watched with a raised brow.

”It’s fine,” he said, releasing his own companion’s linked arm so that she could react.

The fairer of the two Raevens lifted her brows, eyes widening only by a fraction as they finally settled on Cruz’s vibrant green ones. His color was still muted and things were still dark but a smile spread on her rosy lips, her hands daintily taking hold of Cruz’s neck. She didn’t mind that his hand guided her, the sensation on her jaw welcoming while his skin was a bit rougher than hers. In one slow and precise movement, she kissed just beside his lips on both sides before returning to his grip.

”Greetings, Sir Cruz. A pleasure.” With something to finally gaze upon, her eyes didn’t leave his – at least not until he was to pull away. It was rare and she was always fond of getting glimpses of those around her when allowed. Most humans seemed to have a bit of an issue with space, much like Anastacia though she was far, far less tolerant.

Content enough with the interaction between the two Freis, Leo decided to turn his attention back to Anita. He couldn’t help but be amused by her initial reaction to Cruz but hell, Ethiriel was a stranger to both of them and the poor girl couldn’t have known what reaction was to come. ”Were you just getting off?” he asked, though based on her manager’s request to help them he already knew the answer; he just wanted to get conversation going. Pointing a quick thumb at their Raevens, he added, ”I think these two just made friends.”

Corny and a bit forceful, though his main train of thought did focus on the two Raevens. Anita was attractive and he was certainly attracted to her, but he was originally just here to drop off those photos and perhaps bring a new game home. He had absolutely no idea that the girl had a Raeven of her own and he was more than pleased to see them get along, at least for now, and he was more than eager for Ethiriel to make friends.

”If you haven’t eaten yet, I can treat while these two talk.”

The frei barely recoiled from his guardian's hold on his shirt but he did not approach further, staying where he was across the counter and looking thoroughly undeterred in his curiosity. As soon as Leo assured Anita there was no harm she quirked a brow at him, lips pursed, and her fingers slowly loosened their grip until she lifted her hand away entirely. This allowed Cruz to rest more comfortably, one hand still holding Leo's while the other rested upon Ethiriel's fair skin. His eyes widened when their gazes locked and at the feeling of her delicate hands on his neck his lips perked, smiling. Her kisses were where Anita and Cruz both balked but the croc recovered far faster, expression and posture softening with a low rumble of delight.

"Hello," he nearly purred, releasing Leo's hand and bringing his to rest atop one against his neck. They'd been close enough to his lips to truly taste her kiss, even if they were short, and they were as nourishing as they were relaxing; it was difficult to describe but they tasted the way incense smelled.

Anita watched warily while Leo seemed completely fine with these events. Ethiriel did too and Cruz was always content for kisses and affection, which was fine she guessed as long as the other party didn't mind but it wasn't something she was used to and even after nearly two years it still caught her off guard. Leo's voice brought her out of staring but her expression didn't change from idle worry until his words registered.

"Oh-oh, yeah, yeah I was," she practically sputtered, green eyes flicking back to Cruz and his new friend as Leo called attention to them. He seemed to have taken her contact and kisses as an invitation, brushing his nose lightly across her cheek near her lips. Anita's expression stiffened at the display but she was quickly called back again. Then all she could do for a moment was stare, frazzled. "Uhh... pff--" yes, talk, that's certainly what Cruz was doing right now, not brushing his lips against the poor girl's, "Sure! Yeah. That'd, uh, that'd be nice. Did you -- uh... did you come to buy anything first, or...?" she wasn't really feeling the whole Game Depot spirit and it'd feel disingenuous to fall back into a sales pitch right now when conversation was on an obviously more candid note. "Just, y'know," Anita waved a quick hand in the direction of her manager who had returned to reorganizing the shelves.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 04, 2013 8:55 am

Ethiriel didn’t mind the croc’s displays, keeping her own face still as he nudged and prodded. While she couldn’t see the entirety of his face she would definitely keep his eyes in her memory, relishing any chance given to her when it came to seeing someone. She also kept her hands planted on his neck, especially once one of his rested; with Leo having let her go she needed something to ground her, something for her to latch onto and not feel as if she were drifting alone, and for now Cruz was just that. The only adjustment she made was a quick nudge of her own, lifting her chin to for her nose to bump into his while a soft smile remained on her cheek.

The photographer was completely fine with how things unfolded so long as Ethiriel seemed content. Over the last year and a half he had learned that while she was very much a lady, she enjoyed contact. Part of it was her handicap, he figured, but he was happy that she was willing to accept another Raeven with little difficulty, whether it was for her own comfort or if she enjoyed their particular company.

To her question, Leo turned his attention to her once more, brows raised but the rest of his expression returned to its normal, near listless disposition. ”Ah,” he hummed, letting his eyes drift around the store for a moment and rested on the manager once he was brought into the limelight, then shook his head once. ”I don’t think so. I relieve you of your duties.” This time a small smirk spread, finally putting away the hand that Cruz had used into his pocket. ”I guess Cruz can hold onto Ethiriel since she’ll need the help. Is there anything he eats, or…?” The question was more of if he devoured anything tangible – Ethiriel was at least able to accept hot water, but he didn’t know the croc’s essence and wasn’t entirely sure if he’d need to provide for him as well.

Leaning against the counter, he allowed himself to watch the scene with slight amusement while he waited for Anita to finish up her closing work. He’d never worked retail thanks to his father but he was aware enough of protocol that he hung back rather than get in the way.

Anita tugged one of her braids over her shoulder, a hand running over it anxiously while she kept her attention away from the two raevans aside from maintaining them in her peripheral. Her brows raised at Leo's smirk and she managed one of her own in return before glancing to her manager who'd paused to get confirmation as well. She nodded and started work on clearing out, leaving the two freis to Leo's care.

"Nothing solid," she answered with her back turned, stacking some games for the display case, "He keeps hydrated, though. That's about it aside from, uh..." There she paused, lowering her head and scoffing. Had she not explained this to him before? It was a long time ago since they last saw each other at the beach and longer before then when that all actually went down. No, she must not have, there hadn't been proper context at the time but, even if she had, it was long enough that she'd forgotten and he probably did as well. "Do you, uh--" another scoff, why was this so difficult to talk about? "Do you remember when that 'event' was going on and it was like 'hue hue, buy a game get a kiss'?" Anita exaggerated her voice, taking a very mocking tone. She still resented her manager other for feeding into it and not letting her take a break but, to her credit, it had actually gotten a ton more customers and her sales went through the roof that day. Despite the goofy tone there was clear embarrassment and she couldn't bring herself to face him, continuing her work with her back turned.

Ethiriel's touch as so gentle it surprised Cruz because he could feel the eagerness in her fingertips, the enthusiasm in her soft nudge, and the calmness in her smile. She wasn't put off by the contact at all and fed into it, which made him all the more excited. His rule pulsed affectionately as he drew closer, fingers lightly tracing the shape of her face before exploring her hair and making their way to the metallic branch. The other hand tangled a few of its fingers with hers but continued to rest at his neck as he nuzzled her face with his own. The other frei smelled crisp, like dried leaves, and her odor was as calming as her kiss. He was completely tuned out to the conversation between their guardians, single minded as his rune thrummed hungrily and he brushed his lips against hers. Ethiriel had already given the go ahead with kisses as far as he was concerned but before he took her lips for his own he waited to see if she would pull away or show any sign of disinterest, a silent question. Perhaps that wasn't as polite as Anita wanted him to be with it but Ethiriel was already so accommodating he didn't see the harm.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 04, 2013 11:31 am

The smirk had long gone away as Leo watched the two. With his brows raised it was easy to tell he wasn’t agitated and really held no will to pull them apart unless Ethiriel were to react poorly, but for the moment things seemed okay so he continued to let them be. The awkward pause in Anita’s speech was enough to pull his attention and while he didn’t face her, his eyes trailed toward the girl as she worked. With her bending over it was a bit more of a sight than he expected, lingering just a moment before glancing away out of courtesy.

”Yeah, I reme—“

Ethiriel gave no objections to his exploration, his trailing fingers lightly tingling her skin and she even opened her fingers to accommodate his, firmly taking hold once their hands tangled together against his neck. Just as he was taking in her scent she did the same, staring all the while. He held a strange, citric scent, much like an orange and it wasn’t long until her chin lifted once more in recognition. By that time his lips had met hers and she gave a quiet breath of surprise, eyes open and examining before something inside clicked, realization. With a gentle hum she relaxed, thumbs lightly running over the lines of his neck and her smile was felt against his lips. The tea Frei didn’t want to close her eyes, keeping them open and studying his face while allowing him to feed, her lips softening against his.

With lifted brows once again, Leo let out a light scoff. ”So it was him?” he asked, looping a thumb into his pocket. He had received Ethiriel after she had already grown so he knew next to nothing about the abilities their essences held while raw in a bottle. With his own companion so willing to give in, much to his surprise, he couldn’t help but be amused with the results. Leo trusted the Frei’s judgments and if she was comfortable with Cruz he wouldn’t argue. When it came to how Anita reacted, he didn’t know, eyeing her warily while seeming completely nonchalant about the whole thing.

Leo's pause only succeeded in making Anita's face feel hot and she tried to distract herself with organizing. It just got worse once he started to respond in the affirmative and then stopped abruptly, which caused her to turn around in time to see the two raevan's sucking face. Her hands immediately went to her cheeks and ran up, covering her eyes with a firm huff but an embarrassed smile crept across her features just to show she wasn't mad despite her obviously growing discomfort.

"Mistletoe. It was here, I didn't have a choice," she sighed, trying to calm the redness in her face but it was so obvious because of her pale skin, "and that's his food: kisses." Her hands drifted down, gently tugging her eyelids for a moment while she stared at the green freis. Ethiriel didn't seem to mind and that was reassuring but she felt the need to talk to Cruz again after this since she hadn't heard a lick of permission being asked or granted.

Cruz's eyes were closed as he enjoyed the kiss, slow and calm, soft and tender. His fingers explored her hair all the way to the braid in the back which he wrapped his hand lightly around and stroked once, appreciating the similar style to Anita even if it was just the one and Ethiriel's hair was straighter. Several throaty hums passed through him for the duration, their reptilian rumble a bit lost while his mouth was closed. For all of his intimate touchings and physical displays, his kisses were fairly innocent, closed mouthed, and surprisingly chaste. That was one thing Anita was thankful for if he had to feed this way and enjoyed doing so this much; at least he wasn't truly amorous, making out whenever the opportunity suited him, though she was certain everyone got the wrong idea the first time around.

It only took a few more minutes before the counter was straightened up and she clocked out, her replacement having come in and assisting their manager until she was ready to go. Once she turned back around to face them she gave Cruz a quick flick to his back to get his attention as she moved out from behind the counter, "Time to go, dingus."

Cruz pulled his lips away as soon as he felt the quick slap of her finger but he returned quickly to give Ethiriel a parting peck. He didn't remove his hands, merely adjusting them more comfortably to rest upon the other frei's shoulders, and he stared with wide eyed wonder at Anita, smiling brightly. "She tastes really good," he purred, sounding all too flirtatious without meaning to.

A sharp breath left Anita as she bit her lip, making a goofy face. "Be careful who you say that to," she chided in a whisper but there was bashful amusement on her face. With a quick apologetic glance to Leo and a confused look from Cruz she gestured for them to head out of the store. "So, what were you thinkin' for food? Just mall stuff?" The croc adjusted for Ethiriel, not wanting to move away completely, and offered his hand to her as best he could with her limited sight. Floating side by side while holding onto one another sounded perfect to him.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 04, 2013 12:57 pm

Drumming his fingers once against the counter Leo let out a small chuckle and turned his head, scratching his nose. Even if Cruz was feeding he couldn’t help but avert his eyes after a moment, having been raised with the idea that kisses needed at least the littlest bit of privacy. ”And here I thought I might have been attractive. Oh, well.” His voice held a teasing tone, though it wasn’t angry or malicious; more like the way friends would play. The photographer also wasn’t aware that the croc was required to ask permission, but with his essence he would have been a bit surprised that such a rule was enforced.

Finally, at the feeling of Cruz’s fingers in her hair, Ethiriel allowed her eyes to close. Her expressions remained ever gentle, calm at all times, and while all of his sounds were lost to the ears she could feel them reverberate through her silver, much like a tuning fork. His temperature was about like hers, the same as the room and comfortable and she was grateful for that since he wasn’t too cold.

With his parting she opened her eyes but was still caught off guard with the second peck, humming out a gentle laugh when he turned away. Ethiriel’s hands didn’t leave his neck even while his drifted down to her shoulders, still tracing her thumbs gently across his tendons. The female Frei offered another laugh, slowly bowing her head. ”I will accept such a compliment.” she said, eyes blindly searching out for Anita in amusement from her hushed and amused tone. When she couldn’t find any sliver of her in the darkness, she settled on Leonard’s watch until it was time to adjust. She wasn’t opposed in the slightest to being held but it was often difficult with her branches in the way. Once he found a comfortable position for himself, she allowed it.

”Oh, I don’t eat mall food.” Leo said, sounding more pretentious than he intended. With his diet it took a bit more premeditated planning when it came to eating out and about and he usually had his own designated spot. ”If you don’t mind, there’s a diner not far from here. I’m a regular there and they’re growing fonder of Ethiriel by the day.” His voice was a bit light and amused at the addition to the last bit even though his face didn’t show it. He hadn’t explained anything about Ethiriel; her soul or her essence, but perhaps if there was still some silver needing to be polished it would give him that chance.

True to his word the diner was a mere five minute drive from the mall with a quick promise to return her if she had left her car behind, insisting that he drive. It was a small, quaint place, and they were immediately greeted with warm familiarity – at least toward Leo, though Anita was shown just as much hospitality.

At Ethiriel's acceptance, both Anita and Cruz were relieved; he hadn't thought anything of the comment until his guardian mentioned and then he just felt confused about why that was bad to say. At least it was to another Raevan, that could have gone over horribly if said to a human and she hoped her manager or passing mall rats didn't overhear. Her attention was piqued as Leo spoke, quirking her brows with surprise. Mall food was far from healthy but she wasn't about to turn her nose up at it and there were a few places here that were really good by her standards. Apparently they were low compared to Leo's but she didn't let that thought linger long.

"Yeah, sure, that sounds good." She glanced at the two freis, smiling a little awkwardly but it was genuine. With the way their arms interlocked it was almost like Cruz was escorting her. The drive was fairly quiet between all parties, the raevans exploring their skin and clothes curiously while Anita and Leo tried to fill the occasional silence with conversation but the two really weren't well acquainted so a lot of it on Anita's end was accented by nervous laughter. It didn't help she'd been embarrassed one way or another each time they seemed to meet up, even if it wasn't often; first the kiss, then catching up with him in a bikini (even if she was wearing trunks), and then kiss number two -- at least that one wasn't her.

They got settled at the table easily enough and once they were in a public venue again Anita was all smiles and pleasantries. For her own comfort, figuring he'd had enough of a meal anyway, she situated Cruz and herself to sit next to each other across the booth from Leo and Ethiriel with human and raevan sitting diagonally. She thumbed through the menu idly while taking in the appearance of the diner and Cruz took to examining Leo and Ethiriel with his eyes. "What do you usually get here?" the burger was looking really good. Maybe Cruz could stomach the lemon places like this usually added to the water.

At the same time, he gently reached out and rested his arm across the table, palm laying flat in front of Ethiriel to try and attract her attention with the sound of his claws tapping the wood. "Thiriel~" he hummed, all smiles with his voice soft, "What are you?" He was vaguely aware of the process involved with making raevans; he knew now that they had certain components and that each of those components was unique to the particular raevan, he knew that they were born in a laboratory, and he knew that every one he'd met so far was unbearably interesting. Her scent and obvious greenery, the shape of her branches despite their metal texture and scent, told him plant, and then there was the metal itself that intrigued him.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 04, 2013 3:17 pm

The diner itself appeared old but well taken care of, off-white and red checked tiles decorated its floors while the walls were newer and cleaner, white and tan. It almost seemed like a themed joint, its bar and barstools looking like they had come out of a fifties’ milkshake hang-out with chrome trim and candy-red seats. The booths’ cushions were red and white striped and secured into their wood frames with large, round bolts. It was a comfy spot and certainly seemed right up Leo’s alley in appearances with his stupid hipster look.

”Mm?” Leo mumbled, looking up from his menu with a somewhat bored expression. ”Oh, I normally get the vegetable wraps or the salads,” he announced, taking one last glance at the menu before folding it and setting it down in front of him. It seemed like a boring choice but even for non-vegetarians the wraps themselves were pretty popular, though mostly as an appetizer.

The sudden tapping caught Ethiriel’s attention, turning her attention downward until her name was half-called. Smiling, she rested her hand on the table and stared in Cruz’s vague direction. Her hand slid carefully along the surface before finding his fingers, her other coming up to meet and hold his between them both carefully. His question was simple enough even if it could have been worded more eloquently and she was quick to close her eyes. ”The soul I house is green tea. As the doctor described, I am also ‘unoxidized silver.” And much like Cruz’s own awareness, Ethiriel opened her eyes and tried to focus on him but sadly he was too far away for her to make out his shape. ”What soul do you carry, Cruz?” she asked, running her fingers along the lines of his hands and arm, though she didn’t stretch far from her own spot like he had.

She glanced back down at the menu at his answer, brows raised and mouth open in recognition. Those sounded pretty boring but she wasn't much of a veggie wrap kind of girl. If she knew him better she might have asked if she could get an appetizer and a meal but she felt bad enough he'd offered to treat so she decided to just stick with something simple and filling, a burger definitely fitting that bill. "Alright, cool, I think I know what I want then," she closed the menu up and tucked her hands across it when Cruz asked his question, at which she smiled and watched Ethiriel's hands cup his.

It was such a simple gesture but greatly appreciated, each light touch adding an exciting tickle. Even if she was soft spoken, calm, she seemed quite serene and it made it difficult for the frei not to smile. Cruz listened eagerly to her explanation, though what precisely unoxidized silver might be went over his head aside from it being a metal in a state that could not normally occur. That was all well and good, it explained enough. He exaggerated his reaction since she couldn't see his completely enamored expression, letting out an awed sigh. "Tea," he breathed, "If tea tastes like you, I'll drink it all the time," when he got a stomach, of course.

Another throaty hum left him as he enjoyed the touch of her fingers, her room temperature skin pleasant but a bit disappointingly neutral. He was so used to others having a warm touch and in Spring, in these air conditioned locales, that was always a nice reprieve from the slight chill. Alternatively, a cooler touch was more than welcomed in the sweltering heat of Summer but to his knowledge the only being he was acquainted with who offered such relief was Zurine. Her followup question caused Cruz to boast an exceptionally toothy smile, eyes narrowing as his expression otherwise softened. It wasn't an intimidating look save for what lay in his maw, in fact he looked quite delighted she'd cared to ask. "Crocodile," he purred, the reptilian rumble clear in his voice this time as his fingers attempted to gently wrap around some of her own.

Before long, it was time to order their drinks and she was pretty hungry already so she went ahead and ordered her burger, medium rare, hot sauce instead of ketchup, nice and cheesy. Once their server was gone all Anita could do was scoff quietly to herself. She hung her head a moment before looking back up at Leo with an apologetic smile. Her cheek rested on her palm while her elbow propped her head up, braids hanging over her shoulders lazily. "Thanks for this. I feel kind of bad, maybe I can return the favor sometime?" Now that she knew a raevan was in his care it made interaction a little more palatable considering how mortified she'd been after the whole kissing episode. The two really did seem to be getting along but, to be fair, Cruz never seemed to have much difficulty being civil at the very least.
