Ceres hummed softly to herself as she lay in one of the flower beds scattered throughout the meadow, her long plum colored curls draped around her slender body as she gazed up at a pair of eagles circling so high they could barely be seen. She had been laying there for a while now, pondering her life and her calling and feeling a little lonely. It had been quite some time since she had had any company, winter had sealed many of the mountain passes leading to this place and it wasn't very well known to start with. The flowers brushing against her had blossomed, turning towards her like the sun as they drank in the power she released in a steady trickle to strengthen them.
Ceres lived in a small valley folded into one of the deep creases in the vast mountain ranges. The oddly symmetrical bowl was lush and shaded by a dappling canopy of green, humidly warm and strangely hushed and peaceful. Groves of fruiting trees awere dotted here and there throughout the landscape, the dark red and purple fruits lending color to the green ceiling and permeating the air with their rich scent. The beaten dirt path down into the valley was hard to find but once located it lead straight through the trees without branching, a cool mountain stream rushing parallel to it until it reached the exact center of the valley where a pond lay nestled in a heavily flowered clearing bordered by orchards and a tumble of rocky ruins. It was in this clearing that Ceres now lay, within sight of the tranquil water. The entire place hummed with life and serenity, the mare had lived there her entire life and had never felt the urge to leave it, until recently, for what jewel could she hope to find out in the wide world that was more precious than this one? Yet Ceres found herself growing lonely and weary of her enforced isolation. She could not abandon her duties, the Goddess pond must have a caretaker, but she wished there was someone around with whom she could share this burden, someone like herself...

Sorry, I had a hard time figuring out what aspects of her cosplay I wanted to incorporate and what her story would be, I think I have it straight now though ^-^
