The day had been busy and the evening was nice enough out Narisa felt she could get away with a simple tank top and leggings. She had opted to take her meal to her quarters and once she had finished, sprawled out on her bed. Try as she might, her mind could not ignore the fact that Cepheith was acting... different. Prody different. She was more vocal on her feelings towards this or that dragon and seemed to have an even more endless supply of energy.
Except when she finally lay to doze. Like she had been doing for the last mark or so. With a heavy sigh, Narisa twisted on her side to regard the other half of her home.
"Hey... Kindra? Just how freaked out were you really before Suunath Rose?" She asked her friend and fellow Goldrider, clutching a pillow and flopping her chin down on it. "I know they 'prepare' us for what's going to happen when our dragons Rise... but they can't truly prepare you for everything." Narisa paused, biting at her lip. "What was it like... ?" She finally asked in a small voice.

Kindra hadn't been sleeping well, oh she'd gotten enough to make sure she didn't have dark circles under her eyes anymore but no matter how long she stayed in Trine she didn't think she could ever get used to the heat at nights, some were chilly and she preferred those nights.
She'd been sitting up herself, a glow dim but giving enough light to see by without disturbing Narisa on the other side of the room, poring over some maps of the areas around Trine, trying to decide where she'd take Suunath when Cephieth rose, Kindra knew it had to be soon because the other Gold was slightly older than Suunath but from previous talks with Narisa she knew Cephieth hadn't risen yet. Although she wasn't really paying much attention to any other dragon except her Suunath, well, not close enough to tell if the other young Gold was ready to rise yet, she didn't think it would hurt to be prepared beforehand, rather than only having perhaps a few days to find a spot to take Suunath to. Since who knows, the other Gold might be one of those that gives NO warning whatsoever before suddenly glowing and blooding her kills.
She was studying a particular area that looked interesting when she heard the shifting from the other side and Narisa's voice rose, suddenly loud in the room despite the woman keeping her tone low.
"Freaked out doesn't even begin to cover it" she sighed, putting the map down and turning to face her friend. "I wouldn't know about true preparing my end, Kheth and Suunath were the only Golds back home at the time, well ... you know why" she sighed and rubbed her face "That sharding fool of a Bronzerider can only tell you so much, you've probably had more training than i did before Abigail's coma" She paused as she thought back to Suunath's Flight. "I'm Holdborn... and well ..... as much as i try i can't be 100% comfortable with Weyr life and i'm glad Suunath doesn't rise as often as a Green"
She considered Narisa for a bit, thinking about trying to reassure her but Kindra was nothing if not blunt, plus Narisa had seen her after Z'fer had left the room, she and N'mol the only two people who had ever seen her so vulnerable. "It's terrifying .. it's like your gold has suddenly changed completely from whatever reason they had.. to nothing bur rage and lust and the urge to kill and eat, then you have to get your thoughts to yourself, impose everything you have to make her just blood it ... nothing i've ever done has really been harder because you've got to force your will onto her but al she wants to do is tear and rend and kill" She closed her eyes and rubbed her face a little "Then when she was flying, it's like being on the back of her when she's flying but it's different, it's almost as if you merge and it's YOU flying, you get less aware of the people around you and you're mostly just HER, like... the you, down on the ground is a sort of daydream" she smiled a little "It was amazing and terrifying all at the same time, She's all lust but wanting to force the males chasing to prove themselves and you're trying to hold onto some of yourself as well"
Her eyes darkened a little as she remembered the last part "When she's caught.. for a few moments you lose yourself in your dragon's emotions, there's no You or Her... there's just .. well the both of you but you're not separate anymore" she cleared her throat and took a sip of the water set on the small table at the end of her bed "i remember fighting Z'fer because he wasn't who i wanted, oh i accepted him eventually.. but then.. you know all that" She took a deep breath "It wasn't really all that bad but something i'd prefer to forget" she sipped her water again "Narisa... find someone you would accept before it happens.... so you don't have regrets afterwards" she said, her tone, her eyes full of complete honesty and conviction, she didn't want Narisa to have to suffer regrets like she had.

Narisa watched her friend across the way, a little part of her wincing at 'freaked out' being an understatement. She sighed, a brief spell of curiosity in what Kindra was looking at making her glance at the map. But her attention was focused on her friend. She nodded in understanding in regards to Kheth and Suunath being the only Golds. "I... maybe. I'll admit, I did get some idea from her when Ceph was still growing." But not enough, she felt.
A small smile pulled at her lips. "I know what you mean." She murmured. After all, she was holdborn herself. But between the two of them, she seemed to have adapted to Weyr life a little easier. Except for being a Goldrider. That was still a learning experience every day.
When Kindra finally began to talk about how it had been for her's and Suunath's Flight, Narisa gripped the pillow tighter. That sounded... difficult. And, as Kindra said, terrifying. "I hope I don't screw it up... " She murmured.
And then there was a slow flush to her cheeks that started to form. "F-Find someone I accept?" She... didn't have someone like that! Not how Kindra had N'mol. That wasn't to say she didn't want to have someone be that person. And maybe, just maybe, there was a someone she wished would be that person.
