Cybele should have been at home and she knew it. With a bad cold and a test the next day, running around being a superhero was the last thing she should be concerned about. Her compromise to herself was probably an even worse idea. Instead of running around trying to find something to fight, she was curled up on a the sidewalk of a quiet street, staring at the stars and waiting for some youma or something to stumble across her.

Her thoughts flicked from school to the stupid war to the fact that the only thing making her life better than that of a homeless person at the moment was her tiara. Of course then they flicked back to the war, but that was a subject that she was hopelessly confused on and she really wasn't in the mood for deep thinking at the moment anyway.

She coughed, then looked around, wide eyed. The Dark Mirror aura she was beginning to sense brought back lots of very confusing memories. Memories she wasn't willing to face just yet. There was a person she didn't want to see, and some broken promises she didn't want to deal with. She coughed again. One thing was certain. She was not going to move.

The Eternal Dark Senshi was having a lot of fun. He was super excited about his recent upgrade, and he was having a great time exploring himself and his new abilities. He had not been able to use his new power, but if it still healed as well as his last ones he was not too worried about anything.

Not that he ever worried about much, not really.

He felt the aura of an Order member, a senshi if he was as good at identifying the different feelings as he hoped he was, and he bounced toward it. Rather literally, as their was a hop in his step that let him move in time with his good mood.

He didn't expect the senshi to just be sitting there, and he smiled when he saw her, trotting over like a kid on the schoolyard, seeing a friend.

"Hello there! Are you okay?" his first thought was that she might have been hurt, and he was there to help her if she was: he did not simply leave people who had been injured on their own.

The sense of panic that had filled Cybele when she first felt the aura faded a bit when she realized the senshi was not Remarque, meaning certian events could stay in the past. The panic was replaced by disgust when she noted his Eternal buttwings and sickeningly nice greeting. She so did not this at the moment, even if it was just the typical "join us" speech she had sat through multiple times. She sent him a very cold stare, hoping it would be enough to make him leave. At least she was pretty sure the Dark Mirrors didn't want to fight the White Moon Court. There was no way she was doing that.

"Of course I'm not fine," she said in a highly annoyed and fairly stuffed up voice. "That would be why I'm sitting on a sidewalk all alone late at night instead of sleeping like a sensible person or hunting like I'm supposed to." She sighed and shifted her position so she wasn't facing him. "So, can you just give me your speech about why I should join Chaos and leave? I'm tired."

Turning her head to look at him, she said, "We can start with introductions, I guess. I'm Sailor Cybele, Senshi of the Hunt."

Virtus tilted his head as she spoke, though the light in his eyes did not fade. He did not seem fussed at all, listening to her with patience and without a trace of irritation or insult in him. He did not think she was angry at him, personally, so how could he be offended with her?

Things were difficult, and everyone had their own battles to deal with: he knew that, and he treated every person he met as best he could, depending on what they needed. sometimes it took longer to figure out for some than others.

An sometimes he didn't figure it out at all, but he couldn't be faulted for not trying.

"Oh, I didn't... I'm sorry! I didn't have a speech prepared. Should I make one? I could probably come up with something if you wanted! I was just worried you might have hurt yourself. I'm a healer, but uhm." He looked perplexed, straining to try and think up a good 'join us' speech because he honestly thought that was what she was asking him to do.

Sarcasm was not something he seemed to know how to process, just as he did not really pick up on insults directed at or around him.

"Oh! I'm Sailor Virtus, Senshi of Kindness." He smiled like a dope, offering her his hand and stooping beside her, though she was turned away from him.

Any attempt at all to make a speech would have set Cybele completely on ignore mode, not that she had expected her demands to be followed exactly. She wasn't planning to pay a lot of attention no matter what. The hand thrust annoyingly in her face was hard to disregard, though she tried for a few seconds before shaking it, half out of instinct and half out of hope it would go away.

To do that, though, she had to turn back around, coming face to face with someone who she felt was far too cheerful. " Are you serious?" she asked, genuinely questioning. "You... are serious, aren't you?" It was actually quite a relief that he seemed more concerned about her physical well being than about her allegiance, unless he was blatantly lying to get her off guard. If that was the case, it was working fairly well. She dropped most of her attempts of ignore mode, even allowing herself a small, polite smile.

"It's all right. I actually hate those speeches. I've heard a lot of them lately, so I thought I'd get yours over with. Isn't it your job to 'save' White Moon senshi?" Her voice turned back to being bitter in the end. It wasn't like she was going to completely trust her enemy over a few sentences. " And no, I'm not hurt, just a little sick and really tired," she informed him. She didn't really think he could help, but he seemed genuinely worried.

Virtus looked happily confused, tilting his head at her and smiling harmlessly. He was often asked that question, if he was serious, and he wondered what about his approach often caused so much confusion. he would figure it out one day, and that would prevent him from confusing more people!

"We're supposed to do our best, but I don't think that always requires speeches. And if someone isn't feeling up to talking about stuff like that, then I won't push it! I promise." He chuckled.

"I'm glad you're not hurt! Though I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I wish I could heal that, but I don't think my powers work on illnesses. Just injuries." He could heal just the physical, not sickness or anything on the mental side of things.

Though he would try if he was asked to, because that was just who he was.

Cybele shrugged and smiled for real, hoping to make Virtus feel better. He was still smiling, but she hoped he didn't feel too bad about not being able to help her. "It's fine. That's what medicine is for. I mean..." She wasn't really sure how to cheer people up anyway, and when you added other confusing things like enemies and useless magic and people who already looked happy, it got a lot more complicated. Not that she was even trying to cheer him up anymore, he seemed happy. She was trying to fix her own awkwardness. "I'm okay, really." That was a lie, and probably and obvious one, especially as she turned away and coughed a few after she said it.

Ignoring him despite his lack of faction pressure would have probably been better, but she couldn't really do that now. Instead, she checked her arms for wounds, finding a cat scratch from when she'd volunteered the day before. "You can heal this if it would make you feel better," she said, pointing.

"Am I allowed to give you a speech about how my court's so awesome?" deciding to change the subject to something she knew at least a bit more about. "I don't know if I would, anyway, but nobody has told me to, or not to..." She frowned slightly in confusion.

Virtus, at least, was not someone who often needed to be cheered up. He had a good habit of just being a happy for no good reason, so it would take a lot to bring him down from there to start with. He noticed the way she looked away from him when she said she was okay, which indicated that it was not entirely true.

He smiled when she offered him her arm. He was the only one happy to see an injury, if only because he knew he could heal it. He wasn't happy she had gotten scratched, however small it might be, of course.

He reached out and touched her arm lightly, using his first level magic, which would feel warm as it healed the small injury without issue, not even leaving behind a mark.

"You could give me a speech if you wanted to! I wouldn't mind listening, I love learning about the other sides that we're supposed to be helping... and sometimes fighting, against. I would rather not fight, so talking is always better. We're both just doing what we need to do, you know?"

She didn't watch her arm being healed. She looked at Virtus, who seemed pleased at least. Afterwards, as the warmth and slight pain faded, she turned her gaze to her arm, running a finger over the smooth, whole skin that had been scratched before. She was very impressed. Cybele was impressed by magic in general, and she looked back up with a somewhat wonderstruck expression on her face. "Thank you so much! Your magic is really great."

Of course, he was still her enemy, even if he wasn't acting like it. Even if she would rather have forgotten. Even if she didn't really wish he hadn't come by. When she was asked to give a speech, she thought for a few seconds. Her smile faded. "Well... I don't really know a lot about my court, either." She paused. That sounded bad. "Well, we protect people. The youma and the Negaverse destroy things and kill people, and we're supposed to stop them. And we have princesses." She didn't add her opinion on the princesses, which was that they were useless. Her speech sounded very weak as it was, but she nodded confidently as if she had just said something amazing.

Virtus smiled at her cheerily, as he was glad to see her looking happier now. It didn't occur to him that she was impressed, not really, because he was just doing what he had been designed to do. He had to help people, it was just his nature, and he loved doing it. And seeing them healed and happy was what he did it for.

He let her speak, nodding his head. He didn't know enough about the people that were supposed to be his enemies, he found, and he always wanted to know more. Maybe not for the same reason as others in his court, since he would never use anything he learned against any one. Not on purpose, anyway.

He was a bit of a dope, and it was not the most difficult thing in the world to take advantage of him, though he was learning more about that.

"That does sound nice! Sometimes I think we should all focus on helping each other, but our court needs the energy we gather from people... and I don't think that's really hurting, because they just sleep and they feel better. But I do think you guys are doing a really difficult job, fighting all those youma! And you're doing it really well." He smiled brightly. He didn't understand why youma existed, or what they were necessary for. They were scary, and they hurt people without serving any kind of purpose. They basically just made him sad, and he didn't like that.

"You gather energy?" Cybele asked, surprised. She didn't know exactly what that meant, but she could guess. "That's... interesting." It wasn't really the fact that suddenly gave her a cold feeling, it was the fact that it hadn't been mentioned before. That wasn't Virtus's fault, though. In fact, she smiled again when she realized Virtus was being honest with her, which was quite refreshing when everyone else seemed to be trying to manipulate her somehow.

"You don't like the youma?" This wasn't as much as a shock, but was still refreshing. "We do our best to fight them. And, you know..." she paused, "The Negaverse and you, I think." The enemy thing. Sometimes they made her want to punch them in their faces, but at the moment that wasn't how Cybele felt. At that moment, she doubted she could even if she had wanted to. "Do you want to be my enemy?" She asked after a second. " Because unless you do, I'd rather not. Our courts are always fighting, everyone is. You and I don't have to, though, right?"

Making friends with 'enemies' was probably frowned upon, but Cybele hadn't really cared what her court thought for a while.

Virtus tilted his head. Had he said too much? There was no indication that the senshi shouldn't know what they did: must of the white moon he had met already knew that he gathered energy and they attacked him all the time for it. He tried to explain how it didn't hurt anyone, not really, but they were not much interested in his defense.

But he didn't fault them for that, that was what they were told to do and what they believed in, and he had to respect that if he wanted them to respect his own choices and beliefs.

He wanted to be friends with everyone, and the first step to do that would always be understanding.

"Yeah! You guys are trying to do good for the city, and I can understand that. Sometimes the youma and the negaverse go too far. But we try not to. Well, I try not to. I don't want to hurt anyone." He was a healer, and he just was not built for anything but.

"I don't want to be your enemy. We don't have to be! If we're not causing the other trouble, and if we're not being mean to one another, I don't think we have any reason to be enemies. We're just two people working on different goals, in different ways, but we're both senshi, right?"

"Right."

That was what Cybele said, anyway, though she suspected it would be frowned upon by pretty much anybody in the war, especially her own court. It took her several seconds to remind herself that she didn't care. Of course, she was still smiling. Such a conversation would involve lots of bright, beaming smiles as well as awkward feelings. Most of the biggest smiles were coming from Virtus, though, just as she suspected most of the awkward feelings were coming from herself.

"I'm glad I don't have to be your enemy." That was honest at least, and simple enough, unlike everything else. "Even our courts probably shouldn't fight so much, but..." She was just going to say 'they do', but her thoughts turned to energy draining, which hardly sounded pleasant, and Remarque, trying to snatch her from the White Moon and very nearly succeeding. "I can see why they do." Her smile faded for a second before she shrugged, asking, "Well, what about your court? I know I told you not to give me a speech, but it only seems fair."

Then what was there to do but smile again, this time encouragingly?

It was unclear if Virtus knew what awkward felt like, at this point. He was a good guy, bright and warm and just generally interested in other people and, more than that, in making them happy. He loved being nice, and it was more than just his sphere.

Though that was certainly a helpful little add on, as if by introducing himself all his actions were suddenly made clear and justified.

He didn't realize he was getting away with a lot of things that would not be approved of if his whole court knew of his tactics, though if he did ever get himself in trouble he would be fully apologetic and do his best to right his behavior. It was just, so far, he didn't think there was anything wrong in just getting along with people.

"My court? To be honest, I don't know! I mean. I think we're supposed to believe in space and finding a better way for senshi, returning where we belong, but recently I've been having a lot of fun just talking to everyone else and learning about everything for myself! The White Moon seem nice, even the knights, and we're not supposed to be friends with them. I guess I'm just figuring things out one step at a time. We're all fighting for things we believe in, but sometimes I think it's really just the same thing and we shouldn't be fighting at all."

The cheerful, encouraging expression faded a little at a certain comment the Dark Mirror Senshi had made. "You're not supposed to be friends with knights?" Another possibly useful tidbit dropped into her lap, probabally inadvertently. She wondered for a second what would happen if someone was trying to take advantage of him, then pushed the thought from her mind- that was the sort of thing enemies thought, and she'd really prefer to stay not enemies with Virtus. "Like, more than senshi? They're not that different from us, and they're pretty interesting."

She wasn't exactly an expert on knights or anything, but it just seemed weird. Not that most things didn't, but she turned her mind to other things. Like peace and the Dark Mirror Court. Two things she really didn't see going together. "Anyway, space? People are always talking about it. I don't like how they all think I don't belong here. That... we don't belong here. It would be better for people to accept that we do, I think. Maybe that's what we're fighting for. Ideals."

She shrugged. She wasn't sure what she was even fighting for, but since she happened to be a part of the White Moon Court, she figured not getting kicked off the planet was a good place to start. "Or to save people, maybe? Or stay alive. It would be better if we weren't fighting, but..." Again, there were several memories reinforcing her answer, making her say it with a hint of bitterness, "I can see why we are. I mean, I've fought. Hit people. It doesn't seem natural, mostly, but... it didn't seem wrong at the time."
