I have come across people who consistently play cannon rushes shits in all their games.

I don't really have high regard for that. I don't think they are interested in playing a fair game. They just want to 'cheat' to win. I hate to admit it but it does require some well thought out strategies to be able to counter them.

Do you need help countering it?

Cannon rushing is one of the easiest ways to win a game, requires little to no skill, and the pay off is almost always huge, as it requires really well timed scouting, and proper reaction, or a REALLY high level of focus and micro.

I've never cannoned to win, but I will cannon a natural hatch if the zerg is too stubborn to build pool first, some zergs CAN handle it properly, but most can't, and since I'm usually FFE anyways against zerg, it's too easy not to use, and I'm going to use every tool available to me.

I have seen some videos on it.

Countering is easier if we don't let the probes get to the level of the main base, preferably by walling off the entrance.

It's the ones where the probes get into my main base where I have a bit of problems. Pulling off workers to destroy the pylons might be the only way, but I am not good at doing it efficiently enough. Cheesing back is a possible response, but I have come across a guy who build up a decent defence in his own base. sweatdrop

Yeah from what I've seen, pulling workers is usually the only way you can do it, and it can be hard to do if you don't have the multitasking to continue making probes, adding pylons, and trying to squeeze out a couple units here and there.

The important thing you keep in mind during the whole time, is how much they are investing in the attack, a lot of times all you have to do is survive the cannons and you will win. It's likely your opponent is terrible, don't skip your first zealot, make sure get a stalker asap to kill the probe and any follow up probes and do your best to not let your worker production slip, also keep chrono boosting, chrono everything.

It really depends on your race. If you're being cannon rushed:

Zerg: Spread dat creep and keep zerglings ready to destroy pylons. They're expendable, don't worry.
Terran: Same thing, marines at the ready. If worst comes to worst, pull workers to destroy pylon, or lift off and start somewhere else.
Protoss: Cheese that mofo back. No but really, zealots at the ready, and hey, having your own cannons helps keep probes from placing more cannons near you.
