With the arena going dark, the sounds of fast clapping can be heard with the new theme of GBL playing out...
Be careful making wishes in the (the lights flash twice along with the beat) dark, dark
Can't be sure when they've hit their (light flash) mark, mark
And besides in the meantime I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart
I'm in the details with the (light flash) devil

Once the chorus strikes, the lights would shoot back on with GBL standing on the ramp, twirling his feathered hat on a finger. Tossing the hat up, he would catch it to place it back on his head. A little fun for GBL as he would begin his way to the ring, lip singing a bit to the song. Sliding himself into the ring, he would perform his cross taunt before taking his trademark bow. Backing up to the corner, all that was left was waiting for his opponent.

Ryan stood towards the middle of the ring, waiting for the match to officially start.

GBL kept his back to a corner as he watched Ryan. Finally, GBL would push himself away from the turnbuckle to approach his opponent. Once that bell rang, GBL went straight for a lock-up.

Ryan went for the lock-up, because he still does not know his opponent's style in the ring.

With the lock-up, GBL would look for a quick headlock for early control. He knew he needed to be careful of his opponent, but he also knew not to give out any openings, either.

Ryan was locked in the headlock, but he knew he has control of this match.

With the headlock intact, GBL's neck plan was to flip him over for a headlock takedown and keep the pressure applied.

Ryan attempted to block the flip, and attempted to jump up and wrap his legs around GBL's head and pull off a hurricanarana.

It wasn't too often that GBL was in a situation that required him to be against moves like this, but it didn't mean he knew nothing about them. Keeping his ground against the hurricanrana, GBL would wrap his arms around the hanging waist of his opponent and move to lift him back up in a powerbomb before looking to send him up over his head with an Ally-Oop.

Ryan didn't expect this, and was slammed down on the mat.

Laying down for a brief moment, GBL sat up and glanced over to Ryan. He had to admit that it was a close call, but his veteran instinct kicked in. Moving himself to a knee, GBL would watch from his knelt position as he awaited for Ryan to start moving.
