One moment please, randomizing the field... .... ...... Field Randomization complete. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

The dark-haired beauty was absolutely miserable as she entered the field, bundled up in a thick, black wool coat; the splendor of the ice pillars completely lost on her. Muttering to herself as she took careful steps forward, Iovi looked around for a moment before huffing and reaching into her bag for the right poke'ball.
Finding it, she tossed it casually and didn't bother to watch as the spindly-legged blitzle emerged, instead she looked around the stadium for her opponent.
Snorting in frustration as his hooves slid upon the slick floor, he grunted with a tail flick before stomping into the ice with a sharp hoof; finding purchase for his footing as the surface cracked and gave a little. Satisfied, he anchored himself there and stood tall, head swiveling about as he took in the surroundings.((Kit! This is the intro post. George walked in wearing his normal clothes and exhaled slowly watching the mist float up. He enjoyed the view a bit, the pretty ice columns and the way the field had changed. He had come with Otto next to him as he always traveled and was glad he wasn't using him in this. He could tell by the look of him that Otto wasn't happy with the cold. His fire went down a bit as more of the heat was being used just to keep him warm.
He pulled on his gloves making sure they were tight and in place. He quickly reached to his belt pulling off the right pokeball releasing his sandshrew into the arena.
He was really excited to see how Puck would perform out there. Puck had never been in a battle yet but they had been training for a while. So he leaned over the railing to talk to Puck before the battle starts. "Remember your training and you'll do well in this Puck. I will guide you as much as I can."
Puck looked up at George and nodded, he had been training for this. This was an interesting battle, he had the advantage of facing a lightning type. He gripped the ice with his claws scratching furrows into the ice enjoying the feeling. He couldn't dig well in this but should be able to mess with this blitzle here.

George looked across the ice at his opponent, making some decisions quickly. "Lets start this off right Puck, use Earthquake and try to keep your distance." He gripped the railing tight so he would keep his balance as the ground started to shake. He wondered if the Blitzle would be able to stay standing on the ice while it was shaking.
Puck focused his attention on the Blitzle hearing the move called and gripped into the ice with his claws. He used Earthquake and knew that this would be really effective against his opponent. He watched as the ground began to shake, using his claws to keep balance as he focused his energy and will into the ground to make it shake.

((edit: I crit'd! So damage is double. Stomp is a normal move, does normal damage on a 'shrew, so that's doubled for 200 total damage))
Rubbing her shoulders for heat, Iovi tugged her scarf closer around her throat, though the thin material was more for show than warmth. Huddling into herself, she vowed to never battle on an ice field again. It was about then that she noticed Lethe was looking up at her for an order, however the ground had begun to shake. Ice shattered as cracks branched out and chips of ice flew up.
She sighed, realizing this wasn't going to go in her favor, and simply waited for her poke'mon to recover himself before yelling at him.
"Go already! Stomp him into the ground!"
Once the ground started to give, there was nothing for it. He couldn't move out of the way fast enough, certainly not on the ice, and his legs weren't exactly sturdy as they buckled and gave beneath him. Twisting as he went down, he writhed and tried to get himself righted again, though he kept stepping in crevices.
Snorting in anger, he dug his hooves into the ice with each step, giving himself stability as he kicked up ice chips while barreling towards the sandshrew. He reared above him, bringing his hooves crashing down upon the other poke'mon in his rage.

George didn't like how upset the Blitzle was and how badly he had stomped onto Puck. He knew Puck wasn't paying close enough attention when the Blitzle attacked. "Pay attention Puck, this isn't practice. Try it again!"
Puck couldn't help himself seeing the Blitzle's legs thrashing on the ice because of the earthquake. He was laughing to himself about how silly he looked but he hadn't noticed him get his feet and charge at him until it was too late. When he went to pull his claws from the ground he couldn't get them out in time to dodge.
He really felt the lesson sink through with the pain, no matter how funny it might be he had to stay focused on the opponent. Hearing to try it again he sunk his claws in holding the ground tightly as he used Earthquake. He looked up at the Blitzle paying attention this time. Lets see those hooves move. This will show you for stomping on me.

Iovi grinned wickedly as her blitzle danced upon the sandshrew; that should wipe the smirk off their faces.
"Hey! Show 'em how angry you are, use Frustration!"
When his opponent started to dig his claws in again, Lethe simply stood on top of the sandshrew, trampling and thrashing about. Snorting as each hoof connected with the hard shell.

George was not liking these two and how angry they got so fast. He looked around, no wonder the Earthquake didn't work. Most of the ice pillars and such fell with the first one. He had to switch it up, the ground would be hard but he had faith in Puck. "Dig Puck, Dig now"
Puck immediately started to dig understanding his logic. If he could get into the ground, the damn thing couldn't keep stomping on his back. Lets see how he would like this. Puck dug through the hard ground and came back up just behind the Blitzle trying to scratch at him as he broke through the surface.

"He's using Dig, watch the ground!"
She thundered, her fists balled into the soft fabric of her mitts as she pounded on the rails. Maybe this would swing their way after all, and why shouldn't it?
"The second you see him pop up, it's time to play whack-a-rat! Stomp him back into his hole!"
Of course he knew what the sandshrew was doing, and he certainly didn't need to be told to watch the ground. Whinnying at his trainer as if to tell her off, he carefully picked his way over the field debris and followed the tremors in the ground. It was easy to tell where he'd pop up, the ice cracked loudly and started to creak long before his head emerged.
And when it did, Lethe's hoof came down. Hard.

George didn't like that but he knew Puck knew what to do now. They had practiced this before. So he waited for him to use Dig again until he could get back up without being a blatant target.
Puck coming up saw the hoof coming down at him and attempted to dodge it by digging back into the ground. This Blitzle was starting to irritate him. He would try to come up right under his back legs this time to see if he liked not having use of back paws.

She yelled in frustration and shook the railing when she saw what was happening, screaming at Lethe to do something, move, kick, anything! Just something.
"Stomp! Stomp the ground, don't let him get underneath you!"
He was surprised when his leg went further down the hole the second time be brought his hoof down, and the third time there was nothing there to touch down on at all. Confused, he looked down the hole as his trainer yelled at him. The sudden pain in his gut was a complete surprise, which made it all the worse as he nickered and gasped for air. Kicking and stomping without seeing his target, there wasn't much strength behind it as he fought to get his breath back.

George smiled, that was good training they had done previously. Now he needed to hit them again hard, maybe they could turn this back around into their favor.
"Good job Puck, now Earthquake again. Make him reel."
Puck hopped back up out of the ground and noticed that the Blitzle didn't like that very much. He was going to have to remember that for a later time. He heard what George had said and it made sense, his legs were trapped shaking the entire place might just really mess with him again. So he dug his claws into the ground and really started to cause the ground to shake hard.

"C'mon! Don't let him unnerve you! Get back at him, get even! Use Frustration again! Take it out on that sandshrew!"
By this point she'd forgotten about the cold entirely, instead Iovi was all red in the face as she barked her orders, driven on by the fact that for a moment she thought she could see a victory in this match and now it was suddenly being taken from her.
Buckling as the ground gave way again, he snorted and strained to keep himself on level ground, though his ribs still ached from the previous blow. Flailing about with his hooves as best he could, Lethe kept going down as the floor shifted, and though he was plenty angry most of his kicks didn't land on his enemy.

George thought for a minute, the Blitzle was still taking a lot of damage from it but it wasn't that powerful. Maybe they needed to try something slightly different, that could work but he was almost down.
As he looked around he had an idea, "Puck try using Sand Attack"
Puck had tried to dodge the attacks as best he could while he was making the Blitzle's world rock a bit. But it didn't seem like it was enough, and George's command rang out, he already had his claws dug in, there was a pile of freshly churned dirt next to him. So why not, it was all right here ready for use. He quickly started scratching the ground trying to kick the loose bits of dirt, sand and ice at the Blitzle.
