Rosetta arrived in Ashen City with her new wand in hand. She touched down softly before a quaint little flower shop. The young Orderite had received news that her parents had been killed in the war, and had their weapons returned to her. She had decided that she needed to grow up and that today was the day to choose her weapon. Tendrils of sorrow and loneliness still wound around her soul, though, and she wanted to do something to make that go away. She wanted to get some roses to leave on their weapons, as a token of her acceptance that they had passed. The red-haired girl gingerly entered the florist's shop, and was met with the most pleasant fragrances of each and every flower. The tiniest of smiles graced her lips as her eyes wandered over the rainbows of flowers. Poppies and peony's, tulips and snap dragons, daffodils and daisies, this shop had every flower she could think of and then some. And the roses. She had never seen such a wide array of roses before. So many different colors had bloomed beautifully, their sweet perfume gracing the air. She lifted a white rose to her nose and breathed in deeply. She had no idea which roses she would pick.

Feeling a bit defeated from her last couple dragon hunts, Kavanna decided to take a trip into Ashen City, where she would surely visit the wondrous flower shop that she loved oh so much. She had become good friends with the owner and would oftentimes get flowers to decorate the yard with, even though she could definitely provide enough flowers around the home just by way of magic. She still liked the gardening aspect even if she didn't necessarily need it.
Upon her arrival, she looked at the rows and rows of beautiful flowers that lined the shop. Looking over, she noticed a girl looking at roses. With a bright smile on her face, she rolled on over to where she was. "Did you need any help, miss?" she asked as if she worked there. Obviously she knew enough about the store to help a customer, but she also found this little Orderite to be quite a beauty. Her crimson locks flowed down around her. Kavanna was jealous of her beautiful hair, but it also gave her an excuse to talk to someone new.

Rosetta nearly dropped the rose bud when she heard a voice directly next to her. After a long pause she used to calm her heartbeat down, she realized that the woman who had asked her a question was still waiting for an answer. "Oh! Um..." Rosetta lowered her gaze to the rose in her hands, embarrassed at her clumsiness. After a second she returned her gaze to the employee. She didn't seem to be an Orderite, judging by her olive green horns and scales that lined her forearms. She must be a Dovaa then, Rose concluded. She smiled shyly, her cheeks rosy from embarrassment. "I... I was, um..." she fumbled with her words. "I... I need some roses." she mumbled, twisting the white rose bud between her fingers. "Would you help me?" she asked, shining her golden eyes on the young woman's. She seemed friendly, with her easy - going smile spread across her face. But then again, she might not be. Some people were like that.

The Dovaa smiled as the girl caught her breath and the words slowly poured from her mouth. She was cute, sweet, and just seemed to bring a sense of peace. Maybe she was nervous or a little shy, that could most definitely be why she stumbled over her words so much.
"Of course I will. There are some beautiful roses over here." Kavanna said, showing the girl to the most beautiful red, yellow, and white roses the store had to offer.
"May I ask what these roses are for? Someone special perhaps?" she asked, a bright smile upon her face.

Rosetta happily followers the pretty Dovaa lady over to the roses. When she was asked who the roses were for, she lowered her gaze to her hands again, biting her lip. "Oh, no..." she mumbled, twisting the stem of the white rose bud between her fingers. "They...they're...um..." she brought a hand up to brush her bangs out of her eyes. "They're for my parents..." she let the words tumble from her mouth, keeping her golden gaze downward. "They...um...They passed..." she added. "...in the war." she sighed. She looked up quickly, locking eyes with the Dovaa. "But I'll be alright." she said, sounding less confidant than she'd hoped to sound.

Kav looked at the poor girl as she struggled to find the words for how her parents had...died. She was so young, younger than her own son, and she was alone? This broke the Dovaa's heart. "I-I'm so sorry to hear that." she said, a sad, shocked look upon her face.
A moment of silence went by and Kav spoke up again. "A-are you living at the academy here in the city?" she asked curiously, just trying to get the poor girl's mind off of the loss of her parents. She seemed so sweet, so gentle, so kind. Kav couldn't imagine what she must be going through at this vital point in her life.
A flashback to Kav's childhood crossed her mind. At this girl's age, she was going back between Serenia and the Celestial Plane to meet with her family, the Kaalia's, and her second family, the Naraama's. It was as though she had two family's and this girl has nothing anymore. "If you ever need anything, just ask. I can't imagine what you might be going through at this point in your life. Please, feel free to come to me if you need anything. I live right outside of the city in a little cottage by the ocean. Oh, ah, where are my manners...I'm Kavanna by the way. Kavanna Kaalia-Naraama. A Ysali Dovaa." she spoke at once. She definitely wanted to help this beautiful girl if she needed anything, though she seemed so strong for one so young.

Rosetta tried to fix her posture so she wouldn't give off the emotions that were swimming in the pit of her stomach, but her eyes gave her away. In the depths of the golden orbs gleamed a sadness and grim acceptance. When faced with another question, Rosetta blinked several times and tried to think of a way to answer her. "No... I, uh... I live in the woods..." she explained, then realized that her explanation sounded as if she had no home. "I... I mean, in a cottage." she squeaked, nervously raising on tip-toe and rocked back on her heals. "My parent's cottage." she mumbled, lowering her gaze and biting her lip. She was lost in her thoughts for a second when the Dovaa began talking to her again. She could hear something in the lady's voice she hadn't heard in a long time (since her parent's had been gone, to be exact), something that she had been afraid of since; concern. Actual concern filled the lady's voice. Concern for her, Rosetta. The lady had told her that if she needed anything that she should come to her. A complete stranger. "Oh, I couldn't..." she tried to interject, but then the Dovaa mentioned that she lived by the sea. Rosetta had never seen the ocean before, only the lake that she lived nearby. She immediately began to think about the stories her mother told her about it, how it stretched as far as the eye could see, where the deep blue of the water met the horizon was almost indistinguishable. How the water was salty, and there was sand leading into the waves that lapped the shore. Rosetta snapped back to the present and realized that the Dovaa introduced herself. Blinking several more times, Rosetta shakily did the same. "M-my name is Rosetta." She curtseyed politely, dipping her head. A Ysali Dovaa! she had read about them in her father's study, and they seemed to be nice. Rosetta gave Kavanna a small smile when she realized where she was again and what she was doing. "M-might i buy these flowers?" she asked, pointing to the two white roses sitting next to the others.

Kavanna just listened politely to the girls explanations. She was so kind, so gentle, it just made Kavanna's heart ache for the girl. After all, it brought the thoughts of loneliness to her that she had known all too well. At least she was taken care of for the most part, living in a small cottage in the forest seemed nice enough, though Kavanna would almost be stupid to let a young girl of her age, younger than her very son, live alone in a place so desolate.
"If you ever need a place to stay, you're welcome into my home." the Ysali stated. It wasn't like her to just invite strangers into her home like this; but when she was young and needed help, a kind old Orderite helped her out, becoming a mother figure to her. She realized that the people of Magesc can't make it alone...and thus, need to work together to make life as interesting as they can.
As the girl introduced herself and demonstrated her bow, Kavanna smiled and bowed her head in response. "It's very nice to meet you, Rosetta." she said with a smile.
A nod came from the woman and a few plucks of the two white roses sitting among the others. She took them to the counter and began to chat with the woman there. With a smile on her face, she returned. "They're all yours." she said, holding them out to the girl.

Rosetta's eyes sparkled with admiration, leaving her in awe of how compassionate and considerate this stranger was to her. Well, I guess she isn't a stranger any more... she thought to herself. Wild adventures played out in her head of her exploring the vast ocean, envisioning a quaint cottage not unlike her own nestled on the sand as the waves lapped at their lawn. Life must be so subtle and care-free at the ocean~ she smiled minutely. Rosetta snapped back and scolded herself for her daydreams. She told herself that it would be muck too rude just to show up on Kavanna's doorstep and ask to stay. The Dovaa had done so much to ease the pain of her parent's death away, and she didn't, she couldn't be that selfish. The little Orderite's mind returned to the sandy beaches, the pastel shells and the unimaginable shades of the ocean, clouds, and horizon. The sound of the waves lapping the shore and the white birds circling above, just to fall into a steep dive and break the surface of the water, capturing a wriggling fish in its beak. Her mother's tale whispered through her mind, bringing tears to her eyes. She decided that the ocean would be her next big adventure. Rosetta looked up and realized that the kind Dovaa was holding the two white roses out to her. A red blush covered her ears as she sheepishly accepted them. "Th - thank you." She grinned, feeling the first smile of the day light up her face. Forgetting about the sharp thorns on the thin stems of the roses, Rosetta tightened her grasp on them, surprised at the sudden stinging in her palms. "Oww..." she breathed, raising her palm to her lips to lick the tiny crimson lines of blood that had appeared on her palm. She looked up and met Kavanna's eyes, her ears turning red again. "So... um... what's, uh," she stuttered, dropping her eyes. "What's it like? To live on...on a beach?"

Kavanna smiled down at the girl as she took the roses from her hands. Taken aback a bit at the sudden squeal of pain, Kavanna just smiled slightly before looking up, closing her eyes, and reminiscing on old times she had at that very beach. Kav loved the water, but she was never as obsessed with it as her son or her brother had been.
"The beach is a very calm and tranquil place. It's nice if you've had a stressful day or just need a peaceful place to think." she said, a brighter smile growing upon her countenance. It was always so pleasant being able to live by the waters of the ocean.
Looking down at the girl after her reminiscence, Kavanna noticed the crimson fluid oozing from her hand.
"Here, let me help." she said, offering her glowing green hand to the girl for healing.

Rosetta nodded enthusiastically, adding to her visual of how the beach might look. She looked down at her hand, the bright liquid pooling a bit in the lines and creases of her palm and fingers. The stinging sensation had spread up to her elbow, her arm shaking slightly. Then Rose moved her golden gaze to Kavanna's calming, reassuring green eyes, then to her glowing green palm. A second of indecision hit her stomach, but then she slowly extended her shaking hand closer to the Dovaa. She had never healed anyone herself, and was curious to see how it was actually done. She was a bit surprised that Kavanna was a healer, but then found that it would have been an easy guess, judging by her soothing aura. She bit her lip and waited to see what would happen.

Kavanna nodded and took the girls shaking hand in both of her own, closing her eyes, the green light illuminated the small area between the two for a split second.
A second later, Kavanna opened her eyes and smiled, letting go of the girls hand. "Should be all better now." she said, clasping her own hands together and allowing them to hang down in front of her.
"So...Rosetta...when do you plan on coming to visit the beach?" Kavanna asked curiously. After this current run to the market, Kavanna had planned to just return home. Maybe the two could meet again sometime very soon.

Rosetta brought her hand up to her eyes and smiled. Her skin was as perfect as it was when she woke up that morning. "Th-Thank you." she mumbled. She looked back up at Kavanna, smiling and responded confidently. "Once I get another dragon soul, I will visit the beach." Rosetta smiled peacefully at the Dovaa, happy that she had encountered and befriended her. "Well, i better...um... get these home..." she brushed a finger over one of the silky petals. "It was a pleasure to meet you." she twittered quietly, bowing deeply. I hope I see her again soon. Maybe at the beach! rose thought as she exited the shop and headed home. ~ Once home, she placed the roses atop her parent's weapons, glided over to her small desk, and started to doodle on a sheet of milky parchment. Curling waves and scalloped shells emerged from the tip of her pen, her mind elsewhere, thanks to one very motherly Dovaa.
