 Acacia Winter was wandering about the valley below Longwei's mountain when she heard the sound of wings. Blinking, she scanned the sky curiously. That was strange; very few Azrien wandered into this part of the mountains. After all, no one wanted to take a chance of meeting a dragon. Well, except her parents, but they were the exception to the rule. The mare couldn't help being curious. Who was flying through?

 Lysander had been flying at least since last night and his wings were growing tired. He had no idea of what the name of the mountain was he was trying to get to, but he knew his goal. He had been searching for his family that he had gotten separated from when he was just a colt. Now that he could finally use his wings for long flights the young stallion was flying from mountain to mountain in search of his childhood home. That's what had led him to Longwei's mountain. Only, his wings grew to tired to take him to the mountain so he would have to walk to it's peak. With a slight sigh the stallion flew down to the valley while he still had control of his wings and landed. Upon landing he pulled his wings into his body and ignored their complaints. When his blue eyes finally looked up and at the landscape he realized he had landed not more than a foot in front of a blue colored mare with green hair. "Oh. Sorry about that. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was landing." He said with a grin that held a bit of amusement in it.

Acacia watched the winged Azrien land, taking a step back when she realized how close to her he was going to land. She smiled at his apology. "It's fine. I was just a little surprised to see you land here; we don't get many visitors." What an interesting stallion. She'd gone traveling with her father a few times on his trips, but she'd never seen markings like those. They were beautiful...

Lysander was relieved when the mare wasn't offended by his lack of attention to detail when landing, one of the many traits he had unknowingly picked up from his father. "You don't? Seems like that would be kind of boring." Lysander said bluntly, but not intending it to be mean in the slightest. Since he had been searching for his family, well since he lost them, he had traveled quite a bit and encountered someone new each day. So it seemed a bit odd to him that her home saw few visitors. "How come your home sees few visitors?" He asked, curious to know the reason. Lysander was slightly intrigued by the female. "Have you ever seen a pink stallion with large wings and horns near here? Or a black mare with blue designs kind of like mine?" He questioned, remembering his reason for being here once again.

Acacia shook her head. "It's not that boring. My father's a merchant, so sometimes I go out on trips with him. And even if I don't, he comes back with plenty of stories." She smiled at his first question. "Because my neighbor's a dragon--a literal one. He lives up there." She nodded to Longwei's mountain. She blinked and looked at him when he asked his second question. "Well, my father's pink, but he doesn't have wings... and my mother's black but she doesn't have blue designs. I can't think of anyone that fits those descriptions... Sorry."

A merchant? He had found in his travels that merchants tended to be the people you wanted to talk to when you were looking for something or in his case someone. Maybe her father would know about his parents! His heart swelled with joy at the thought that he might finally be reunited with them once more. "Merchants know everything." He said with a grin. "On my own travels if I ever needed something whether it be an item or information, they are the one's to go to." Lysander replied in agreement. "A dragon?" He asked, his surprise clear in his voice. "I thought dragons were just in fairytales." Lysander said with a large grin. "One day I'll venture up the mountain and meet him. But not today. My wings are too tired." He laughed. At her reply to his question he smiled kindly. "It's alright. I'll find them one day. Thank you for your help....." For a moment the young stallion looked perplexed. "I'm Lysander. I don't think we exchanged names." He smiled, his cheeks slightly pinked by his embarrassment.

Acacia smiled as she nodded. "That sounds exactly like my dad." She shook her head. "No, he's real alright. I'm glad he is, too--he's the reason that I met my adopted parents." She giggled at his perplexed look and following statement. "I'm Acacia Winter. It's nice to meet you." She paused, then added, "And you're welcome to ask my dad if he knows anything. He's more well-traveled than I am."

"Met your adopted parents?" Lysander repeated. "YOU WERE ADOPTED?!" He exclaimed in surprise. Seeing as how he had been raising himself since a colt he found it bizarre that a family would take in someone who had no parents, or in his case, gotten lost from them. "How did the dragon help you meet them?" He asked with a look on his face that showed his willingness to hear the full story. "Thank you Acacia Winter. It's nice to meet you as well." He replied with a grin before laying down on the soft grass. "I'd love to hear how the dragon helped you meet your parents." He paused. "If you want to tell me?" Lysander asked, even though the small brain in his head told him she would tell him anyways because how could she not? She was the one who was truly out of a fairytale.

Acacia couldn't help laughing at his reaction. It was just so... well, funny! "Yes, I was adopted. And I don't mind telling you the story." She laid down on the grass near him and then began her story. "When I was very little, I wandered up the mountain and into the dragon's cave. Of course my parents followed after me, but it took them a while to figure out where I went. Longwei--the dragon, had let me fall asleep against him because of the cold. My parents found me and were overjoyed, but... then they saw Longwei. Needless to say that they freaked out. They ran away." Her sad smile brightened as she continued. "My adopted father is good friends with Longwei, and he always stops by when he returns from his trips. Longwei explained what had happened, and asked my father to take care of me. He decided the best thing to do was take me to my adopted mother and ask for her opinion. He put me in his cart so I wouldn't be in danger, and carried me down the mountain." She beamed. "Papa says that Mama got attached to me right away. But apparently I was crying for my mother, so Papa went out to find my real parents." She sighed. "They never told me what happened on that trip, but... I think it was really bad. Mama says that it made Papa really upset." Shaking her head, she smiled again. "Anyway, that's when they took me in as their own. We've been a family ever since."
