Red dripped down the silver blade in her hand, coated her pale face and neck and stained the once pure white of her uniform. She tipped her head back breathing in the scent of death and licking her lips free of the viscous liquid. Ah it was warm. It was always so warm no matter how long she let it sit. It was rejuvenating, somehow.
With cat-like languidness she rose from her crouch and stretched working out the kinks from her workout. She brushed a sticky strand of hair away from her face so she could freely lick the crimson substance off of her hand regarding the form beneath her. The man remained silent on the ground his eyes wide in sheer horror. The ghostly pallor of his skin was a testament to the terror he'd experienced before his death. He'd been so weak... not much of an effort at all. But at least he'd provided her a bit of amusement before he died.
Rolling her eyes she did another luxurious stretch, her mouth widening in a yawn as she stepped away from his body to resume cleaning her arm. She wished there'd been more than one of him. Even when they were inexperienced or stupid if there was a group then she could normally get a bigger meal out of it. What a pain... she wasn't satisfied with this night's game at all. Maybe she'd go find someone else to play with after she cleaned up a bit. Wouldn't be as fun if they ran away on sight. Oooh what if she could seduce one?
The girl giggled softly to herself brushing her hand against her face to draw the liquid off. What if she got more than one? Even better~. Oh how she wished she had a gigai. She could do all sorts of fun things then. Maybe even get the cops involved an expand her meal! With enough bodies she could bathe in this stuff. Oh how delightful that would be just to spend a while languishing in her namesake. Blood was just so delicious.
She paused midway through cleaning off her right hand a soft shuffling sound alerting her to the presence of another. She breathed in through her mouth as the wind shifted in her direction tasting the blood and death and... something light like rain. A sizzle pop on her tongue. A slow smile curved on her lips and she raised her right hand watching the moon shine through her hollow hole. When she spoke her voice was thick with amusement and a touch of sadism.
"What are you doing here... Rai-kun~?"

As the soft, sadistic voice echoed out into the darkness, the shadow in the bushes stood up to full height. The moonlight reflected onto piercing golden eyes, the effect casting a slight glow to them. As the shadow ventured closer, more into the light, his form became definitive. Tall, pale blonde hair, and a white uniform with various trinkets on it that blew in the light breeze of the night, causing a light tinkling sound. Rai Katsu, the Diablo to Akane Chi. He rubbed the back of his neck as he moved closer, a soft sight escaping his lips as he looked down at the girl he served. With such pale white skin, the blood covering her stood out immensely.
"Akane-sama.." he started softly, then shook his head. "Chi. I'm here to take you back home. Akane-sama doesn't like when you do this, and it's my job to keep her happy and safe. Your actions in her body generally don't contribute to that." One hand still rested at the back of his neck, but the other was slightly tensed at the holster of his weapon. Chi was definitely not one to take orders from anyone, especially himself, and so she usually tried to fight him on matters such as this. He didn't like hurting Akane, the innocent companion to Chi, but sometimes it was the only way to force her back in.
The Arrancar allowed himself a brief moment to look down by Chi's feet, the dead body of a man slowly going cold. He could see the shocked expression on his face, evidence of what his last thoughts had been before his life had been cut short. And honestly, Rai couldn't blame the man for being afraid. Chi topped the list of the things that he was afraid of.
Waiting to see Chi's reaction to his proposal, Rai's golden gaze lifted up from the man's body to focus on her once more.

Chi's smile became a little wider if that was even possible. He was always so straightforward it was laughable especially when he was so weak. She turned her head slightly to smirk at him her red eyes glowing in the moonlight. Besides her erratic behavior they were the only other way to tell who was who in this mind swapping madness. She gave Rai credit where credit was due, he could usually tell just who was who.
"Aw is ickle Wai-kun hewe to save Akane-sama~?" she giggled and turned fully to face him. The blood that had stained her face and left arm were gone since she'd lapped it up already giving her skin back its chalk-white appearance. She grinned savagely brushing her right hand lightly against her neck to pick up the blood there before casually licking it off her eyes locked on him the whole time.
"Howww cuuute~. Although... you're not really doing such a good job are you?" she laughed mockingly. Her hand dropped and she fingered the katana in her left hand as she cocked her head to the side "But Rai-kun..."
Her arms looped around his neck from behind though they provided no true weight as her feet were on solidified reishi. Her body was firmly pressed against his her eyes on the spot where her fading silhouette remained. Chi laughed slightly, a bit breathily, batting her lashes as her lips brushed his ear "Why don't you ever like keeping me around~?"

Sighing, Rai had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at his red eyed companion when she belittled him with baby talk. He watched with repulsion in his eyes as she licked the blood off of her hand, oh so casually. What she said next struck a chord, but he managed to show little reaction to it. It was his job, after all, to make sure Akane didn't get hurt, and the fact that Chi was here was evidence that he had failed. He hadn't known exactly when Akane had wandered off, she was so quiet, so sometimes she was hard to keep track of, but it wasn't like him to be to negligent.
His gaze dropped down to her hand by her side as it moved to finger her katana, before meeting her eyes once more as she spoke to him. The next few moments were surprising, and one of the many reasons he fear Chi as much as he did. Besides her bloodlust, she was incredibly fast. Depending on who she was, she had the ultimate flight or fight response. Able to move like a frightened animal in danger as Akane, or strike like the faster predator as Chi, her speed was arguably the best of the Hellfire.
Tensing up, Rai watched with something akin to admiration as the silhouette of Chi in front of his start to fade away. Her body had vanished from the spot seconds ago, and yet she had remained seemingly solid in front of him, which had been enough to confuse him when her arm wrapped around his neck. Barely suppressing a shudder as her lips brushed against his ear, he listened to her whisper, and forced himself to relax. Laughing quietly to himself, her turned his head slightly and glanced down at her. "Why, Chi, are you flirting with me?"
It was strange how much of a difference the personalities of the Fantasma changed Rai's own. Had it been Akane who had wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered to him, he would be putty in her hands, and in a metaphorical state of melting and spontaneously combusting at the same time. But because it was Chi, it didn't effect him so much. "Akane-sama is much more gentle and graceful than you are, so I prefer her company better."

She'd admit that he had guts, at least. His heart was racing so fast... the sound was very alluring. It reminded her of the very rich, very tasty liquid rolling through his veins. A predatory growl rumbled in her throat as she met his 'fearless' gaze before it dissolved into a muffled laugh at the returned comments her breath ghosting over his skin in a way that may or may not have been intentional "I won't deny it~." she purred her eyes half-lidded with amusement as she met his gaze "Ne Rai-kun how mean~. What about my sexiness and charm?" she winked.
On the outside it might seem a friendly spat between two friends but both of them knew that was so far from the truth that it was almost laughable. If she had the attention span to get through it without being hungry all the time she might be more willing to press Rai's buttons and see if he would give into carnal delights above the 'grace' of Akane... but the way she was going with her growing attraction to his blood she was rapidly becoming the ADHD poster child of the year. Although maybe she could pull something quickly and satisfy her tastes at the same time...
Without warning she slumped heavily on him and her eyes slid shut a heavy shudder running through her body as if she was cold or ill. Her voice became piteously low, weak even in a way that almost matched Akane when she was at her worst "Rai..."
She waited for the brief alarm, the flash of concern before the realization, and then quick as a wink she sank her teeth into that space between his shoulder and his neck mindful of touching anything vital. Her incisors weren't particularly sharp despite her tastes but they still punctured the skin. An odd sweetness flooded her mouth and she relished in the taste for a moment her legs instinctively locking around the boy's waist in order to prevent him from squirming or throwing her off like many of her prey had tried in the past. Oooh this was gooood~. Rainwater and sizzle pop tang. Her favorite.
Reminding herself of her own intentions she pulled back, intentionally dragging her teeth and tongue across the bruising patch of skin. As soon as she was out of its range she quickly placed a kiss against his neck before pushing off him her body doubling for an instant as she retrieved the blade she'd dropped when she'd become so embroiled in her pleasure. With a delighted laugh she danced away from him her eyes a rich shade of scarlet with their amusement "Oooh Rai-kun tastes good~."
She wiped the corner of her mouth with her thumb careful not to waste the small drop of blood there. Not much of a mess. The puncture had been relatively small. Honestly she much preferred the jugular but since that would kill Rai and that, for once, wasn't her intention, she'd avoided it. It was almost disappointing but the very thought of what she was plotting was more than making up for it. The young woman had a cheshire cat grin on her lips as she leveled her blade "What are you waiting for, Rai-kun~?"
"Come and get me~."

Goosebumps formed along Rai's skin as her breath danced lightly across it, a strangely pleasant feeling despite the current circumstances. He forced another laugh to respond to her questioning about sexiness and charm. "You're about as charming as that dead human over there," he managed with some effort with a slight shrug. Honestly, if Rai wasn't so scared of Chi, he might actually have fun bantered back and forth with her. But as it was, she never really did anything without a purpose, except for maybe mass slaughtering.
This interaction was actually a rather strange one. Chi rarely got this close to him, and she seemed torn between eating him alive and partaking in a whole different activity. He had to admit though, it was actually nice having her so close. It was Akane's body after all, and her skin was just as soft as it usually was. The only differences were really her eyes, and the fact that Chi was a psychopathic Hellfire with an insatiable lust for blood. Which was what it mostly came down to. He was in love with the sweet, shy girl who had saved his life, not the one with him currently. Having her body really meant nothing to him emotionally.
Pulled out of his thoughts by a sudden weight on his shoulders, Rai instinctively twisted his body a bit and wrapped his arm around the girl's waist to hold her up. Only because he was so close to her did he hear her voice that came in a tone that made his eyes light up. His arm tightened to pull her closer to him, and when he started to speak, his voice was laced with concern. "Akan-"
He cut himself off, and suddenly tried to push the girl's body away from him, his actions of pulling her close as a protective measure detrimental to him now. Akane only came back when Chi was exhausted, and Chi had yet to do anything strenuous yet. And Akane always called him 'Rai-kun', not just 'Rai'. It had taken too long for the Arrancar to wrap his mind around the fact that Chi had been playing with him, like a cat toyed with a mouse. Pain shot through him as something punctured his neck and he gasped quietly at the feeling, his eyes widening.
He continued trying to push her away, but she had latched onto him, and was surprisingly strong for a girl so seemingly frail. The wound wasn't altogether too painful, but it was definitely creeping to watch the shell of the girl he cared so much about tasting his blood as if it were candy. When she finally released him, his hand shot up to his neck, like touching it would ease the pain, or heal it. Noticing that her katana was in her hand, he pulled out his own weapon. The fact that she hadn't bitten into his jugular didn't mean she didn't intend to kill him. It just meant she wanted him alive for the time being to play with him. It was time to get serious.
Almost as soon as Chi had finished her last sentence, Rai drew his weapon as quick as a flash of lightning, and shot a series of small, but rapid Ceros at her.

Oh she'd pissed him off now. That was just how she liked it! A savage grin lit up her features her body coiling into a crouch as she watched Rai launch the mini cero. Metralleta had always been interesting to watch and today was no different. Even in the moment where the little orbs were nearing her she watched their approach with avid fascination. Doble was useless for someone like her, Metralleta would have been sooo much cooler to have.
And then she launched herself forward.
Now her Hierro was crap but her endurance was not. When Chi was in control she gave no hint that she felt any physical pain, and if she did then it was obviously some sort of pleasure to her. Point being that she let the ceros she didn't dodge crash into her without a care. As soon as she get close enough she stepped again closing the distance as much as she could before slashing down with her blade. If he took or blocked the blow power to him- she'd kick him in the stomach. If he chose to dodge or step back she'd dig her blade into the soil to use it as a brief support so she could move forward... and kick him as well. Possibly in the chest though not enough to shatter bone as she was so often fond of. Waiting was making her impatient but she was dealing with it by reminding herself what she might get out of it afterwards.
"Haha what's the matter, Rai-kun~? Did I make the fox boy angry~?"

Shot after shot exited Rai's weapon, even as Chi advanced toward him. While he was generally reserved about hurting her, since she shared Akane's body, he wasn't all that worried about hitting her with his Metralleta. He wasn't even in his released state, so his shots honestly weren't all that strong. Besides, his objective wasn't to blast a hole in her stomach, it was to tire her out so Akane would come back. As his opponent swung her blade down toward him, he brought his weapon up to block it. The wonderful thing about his weapon was that it was perfect for both long range and close distance fighting. If he had decided to spend more time training with his weapon, he could become a very effective enemy.
However, it just wasn't in his nature. Rai never went out looking for fights, and only fought when it was necessary to do so. Eventually he knew he would have to better himself through training, so that he would be able to protect his Fantasma, but for now he was content where he was, even if he was rather weak. The blade clashed with each other, metal against metal that caused a brief spark in between them before being kicked back. Grunting at the feeling, Rai's hand went to his stomach, and he quickly stood back up. It would leave a nasty bruise most likely, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Chi was holding back. Immensely. And in some strange way, that scared him more than it would have if she had just come at him full force.
Delving into the mind of the girl in front of him wasn't particularly something he wanted to partake in. But he was curious as to what she intended to do, and knew that he would inevitably find out soon enough. Without listening to the last bit of her question, he shot a couple more Cero's at her front, then used Sonido to get behind her in an attempt to hit her back. Even as he executed it, he knew it may be useless, since his speed was nowhere near on par with Chi's, but there wasn't much else he could do. He was fully prepared, as always, to believe that he wouldn't leave the battle unscathed, and he didn't mind the pain as long as Akane came back.

"Awww Rai-kun are you going to ignore me~? That's rude, you know~."
She was having fun with this. The second wave of metralleta came as no surprise but the movement did. Ah he was trying and trying, wasn't he? How amusing~. Instead of looking back or twisting around to retaliate she ducked down slipping her katana into its sheath so she was free to place both hands on the ground in a handstand. Her leg kicked up slightly to redirect the attempted cero shot at her back before she hooked her foot around the edge and trapped the weapon between her legs. With a sharp movement and relying on him briefly supporting her weight in his surprise she pulled herself up in a manner not unlike an acrobat to wrap her fingers around the hilt of the blade.
"Monkey see monkey do~." she sing-songed the notion briefly humorous as she curled the fingers of her free hand into a fist. For the second time that day she aimed to strike at his stomach, this time with a bit more force, enough to wind him and hopefully force him to release his weapon. Yep. Having too much fun with this.

The words she spoke barely registered in Rai's ears because he had already been in the middle of his Sonido. As expected, Chi didn't get hit by his attack, maneuvering her body into a handstand, and redirecting his weapon so that the cero fired harmlessly toward the sky. From there on, he was caught in the weirdest sort of tug-of-war with the girl, and after an awkward moment of his weapon being caught between her legs, she moved her body once more so that her finger was hooked around it. Seeing her little hand curl into a fist, Rai braced himself, but still grunted and gasped when the air left his lungs, barely managing to hang onto his weapon as he brought his leg up and spun in a blind movement to knock her away from him.
Whether or not that worked, he gave himself a few moments to attempt to breathe normally, the blow having knocked the wind out of him. He still had his weapon for the time being, desperate to hold onto it so that he could go into his Resurrecion state if he needed. Whether or not Chi was still attached to him, he moved forward to try to slash against the girl's stomach.

Being forcibly removed from the weapon in question was more of her body's natural reaction to the kick rather than feeling any sort of pain. It jarred her a little but the effect was more like someone had applied light pressure to her and shoved her off. Hitting the ground she rolled back onto her feet easily nonplussed and at ease; Akane's arm would surely bruise but it was of no consequence to her. The young woman rolled her neck and stretched slightly giving Rai the moment he needed to regain himself. She was a bit disappointed that she'd been unable to completely disarm him then. She'd wanted to have some fun but oh well. If she could egg him into releasing that meant he'd get his fox ears and tail! All the better to engage in her mischievous plot~.
The thought made her giggle slightly and she glanced over briefly to see the young man approaching her. A small smirk slipped onto her lips as she took a little leaping step back hands folded behind her back no doubt to mock him. She met his eyes briefly before the tip of her shoe touched the ground and she darted off again this time spinning around the blade in a motion to make a prima ballerina proud. She crouched slightly her right hand gripping the hilt of her katana before she pulled the blade out using the force of the motion to jab the boy in the stomach with the hilt. It was a playful, slightly unorthodox move that wasn't usually credited to her. She usually played around just slashing at people randomly until someone was stupid enough to knock her blade out of her hands. If there was any doubt she was messing with him before it was cleared now.
Finishing that she let the blade click back into its sheath before dropping low to the ground moving one leg in a sweeping motion to hopefully knock Rai to the ground. If she succeeded then from there she'd hop up and deliver an axe kick to his head, marginally slower so he'd have juuust enough time to dodge. As stated prior she was playing with him not trying to cause him life-threatening injury.

If Chi was trying to piss Rai off, she was doing a damn good job of it. It wasn't necessarily the fact that he couldn't hit her that was frustrating him. It wasn't like he wanted to hurt her, really. He cared about Akane, so in some weird and twisted wait, he cared about Chi, too. But mostly what was angering him was the fact that she was being so incredibly nonchalant while they were fighting, if one could even call it that. He at least wanted her to break a sweat or look engaged, or something!
Graceful as ever, the girl spun away from his attack, and he grunted as she jabbed at his stomach with the hilt of her blade. Obviously she wasn't taking this seriously, and Rai was getting pretty tired of being played with. About to retaliate, the world suddenly shifted around him, and after a moment he realized he was on the ground, laying on his back. Barely managing to avoid Chi's kick, the boy rolled away from her, gaining enough distance that he felt comfortable."Estrepito, Trueno Zorro." With those words, Rai shed his normal of appearance. The slightly blonde hair of before was bleached completely white, with ivory fox ears peaking out. Coupled with a busy white tail tipped with black, the boy took on the appearance of what resembled a fox. Even his clothing had changed, white silky robes adorning his body. His once golden eyes had changed to a similar crimson color that matched Chi's and although he glared at her, he didn't seem completely threatening.
Slamming his blade into the ground, the earth shook furiously, and a loud crash, much akin to thunder filled the air. Hoping that Chi had been knocked slightly off balance, he yanked his blade from the soil and shot small balls of energy at the girl. Upon contact, if they managed to hit, they would have the same effect somebody felt if they were to get hit by a taser in the World of the Living.

Oooh yes! She did it!
Chi's eyes widened in delight as the familiar fox ears and tail poked out. She would shamelessly admit that on the rare moments she got to bother him in that state she enjoyed the softness of the ears and tail. She may be a bloodthirsty destructive monster but she was still kind of sort of a girl who liked cute things. Except her version of 'cute' had a way of being radically different from any other girl human, spiritual, or otherwise. What she especially adored, however, were not the fox traits but his eyes. She grinned as their gazes locked her body relaxed as she waited for the next move. She was ready.
She slammed her blade into the ground easily finding purchase in the soft soil of the graveyard. She would have retained her grip on the hilt had the sudden shaking not knocked her slightly off balance. Her shoulders tensed as she saw the energy coming for her. She tried to dig her heel in to move out of the way and only briefly found purchase. She spun away from the first and second only to be pegged by the third. She flew a foot before crashing to the ground her head banging against the soil and her body spasming from the electricity. It seemed she might be down...

There was always a pang of guilt when hurting Chi. Even though he hated her personality and every part of who she was, she did share Akane's body, and to hurt her meant to hurt the girl he cared so much about as well. With his blade still held in his hand, he jogged over to the fallen girl and knelt down by her, fox ears flattened against his head, tail curled around his knees. It was always difficult to tell when Chi had finally been defeated and Akane was back, because she was stubborn and tough and loved so much to toy with people that it was hard to send her back into the abyss of unconsciousness. Hesitantly, Rai placed his hand on the girl's shoulder, shaking her a little as he waited to see just who he was dealing with.
