Neena was for once on the ground, wings folded against her sides as she strolled along, enjoying the spring sunshine. It seemed a fine sort of day, and by rights she should have been taking a good long flight, but it seemed like she was always doing that and it might time to smell the roses..or something like that.
So here she was, her mane braid bobbing along as she clipped along, occasionally stopping to tug at some of the newer, green grass that was slowly beginning to sprout, chewing on it as she went.
Eventually she came to an area that was bordered by woods, and in the distance she could hear the sound of running water. She started looking around for any sort of movement, she was a mare who liked company and if she spent too long by herself she started to feel adrift and not a little lonely.
She headed towards the sound of water and was soon in view of a river, her eyes scanning the banks of either side - for potential friend or foe.

The day was quite young as he wandered through the forest. He took the days as they came and embraced each warmly. He did not have any goals in mind that he knew of. He was like a free spirit that could do whatever he pleased. Loosing his mate was not all bad it was not because of love. It had just felt as if they rushed into it he had loved her but leaving was for the best. That was not his goal i life she was not his soul mate. He kept on walking unsure of what he should do. The thought of flight crossed his mind but he was distracted by a stream. Walking up to it he glanced around hoping to find another as it could get quite lonely. He scanned the area again this time noticing a mare on the other side of the river further down. He shook his mane ot and slowly started to walk closer to the stranger.

Neena was just swishing a mouthful of cold water around her mouth when she saw the stranger come into view and she hurriedly swallowed the liquid, coughing slightly as it almost went down the wrong way.
He was walking slowly, giving her ample time to give him a good, long look over, taking in his striking colouration, the long braided mane and the leonine tale. She smiled at him from across the river, catching sight for the first time of his colourless eyes, which whilst slightly eerie, well suited the stallion.
'Hello there!' she said. 'Lovely day isn't it?'
It was a fairly trite greeting, but she meant the words, and how else did you start a conversation?

He eyed the mare slowly and nodded at her offering a smile. She was pretty he could say that about her. An angeni he knew from her four wings and build. He had only seen a few in his life and always loved to meet enother. She was colored as if she cold blend into the earth at any moment. On closer look he noticed she was not full angeni though he had yet to meet a half. Her voice carried over to him and he nodded again. "Yes it really is..This day has held surprises.." He walks closer to her and takes in the area.
"I was only traveling as i always do..It is always nice to meet another in the open world.." The wind blows his mane some and he slowly stretches out his wings.

'Surprises?' Neena echoed, wondering what he meant by that. 'Do tell.' she continued, smiling in her usual friendly and open manner. She was still quite taken with his eyes, still fascinating and yet she felt they were a tiny bit eerie.
She watched as he spread his two wings, and nodded at them. 'Are you a fair flyer? Do you fly often?' she asked, two questions she'd wanted to ask in the moment they'd met as flying was a thing dear to her, of great enjoyment. She checked herself after asking and then grinned.
'Oh, and I'm Neena by the by.'

back on the mare he smiles "Well i can say that..running into you was a welcome surprise.." he glaces at her again noticing more and more the beauty she holds. He had never seen an angeni or for one a angeni cyreni. She seemed to have an aura all her own and was drawn to her for some reason. He knew about fate and he believed in the spirits. He wondered if this was there work or his own mind. He wondered what she might think about him and his ghostly image. Most were drawn to him because of his looks he had many a mare go after him but he never liked them the way they liked him. It was unfortunate that his looks attracted so many that he never liked. He was still listing to the mare and stretched out his wings to there full length. "I have not much reason to fly but back when i did..i was a frequent flyer..i lost the urge to fly as there is no purpose for me in the sky..i still do fly but it feels lonely now instead of free.." he looked up at the sky and then back down "I feel as if ive been grounded.." he takes in her name "My name is Titan..it is nice to meet you Neena"

'Oh, well, I am glad you think that it was a good thing to bump into me.' Neena said, smiling, she wasn't entirely sure she'd describe bumping into Titan as a 'surprise' as she would be more surprised to not run into anyone in a fairly well travelled area.
She watched as he spread his wings; the span was impressive and they were neat wings, so she would be interested to see how he was in the air. She frowned a little at that thought, though at times she could admit to the same thing - but it would never stop her from flying because she loved the sensation of being on the wing so much.
'That's a shame. I mean, it's a big open sky and you can feel as though you're the only one around when you're up there but company can be only a landing away. Even on low days, I still like to fly.' she said, adding; 'The weather is really the only thing that can stop me.'

"He eyes her and nods thinking of what to say. "It was a good thing..i have no friends and am always open to making one.." he smiles at her looking around wondering what he should be talking about. He was not much of a talker and had no idea of what to say. "What do you like to do..besides flying..?" he felt friendly tworads this mare but he did not feel a deeper connection with her. She seemed to be friendly enough but her past but not of been something to draw him in.
He assumed she spend most of her time in the skies. He was mostly on the ground seeking out those who he could help that was his purpose. He could be friends with this mare but did not think it would grow into something more but fate was a funny thing. Looking around he eyes the sky "The sky..reminds me of my father..i never liked my father..i prefer to stick to the ground not to be reminded of him..i will fly though and i do. I long to feel one with something but i know it is not the sky"

It was an odd thought for the mare. She considered herself friendly, chatty and she would happily talk about anything, but a friend? Neena wasn't sure she'd properly made one of those yet, though she knew that she would be happy to see each and every Soquili she'd bumped into again as they had all been uniformly friendly and interesting.
'Do you not? Is there a reason you don't have friends,..or a friend?' she asked, curious as to why that might be. He struck her from first impressions as being able to make one, maybe he just had not had the opportunity, or maybe he was like herself in that he had made acquaintances but not friendships.
She listened as he spoke of his reasons for his reluctance to fly. She was not particularly close with her own parents as she wandered so much but she didn't have an axe to grind with them, and she supposed that if she took the effort she could get to know them better. Neena had just always felt that her real family was somewhere out there, one that she made of her own choosing, and so she had kept moving and looking.
'I'm sorry for that, sorry that your father has soured the experience for you.' she said, her expression speaking of her sympathy as much as her words did. She did not feel right prying into exactly what the discord between father and son was as she did not yet know the stallion well enough.

He wanted to keep walking for he still felt nothing but a friendship forming with this mare. He did not think she was in his future as anything more. He smiled at her though and did think her to be quite friendly just not the type he was seeking.
"I do not have many friends..i am a traveler looking for my purpose..i would not mind being friends with you though..seeing how you can fly..im sure we would meet again.." he nods at her and looks into the distance again. he wondered if this mare had any friends or a big family. all he knew was that she had a love to fly that was not much to go off of.
"There is no reason to be sorry.." he nods at her "I did notice your colors..you seem to be half angeni..?" he eyes her wondering about her heartiage. "One of your parents was an angeni..?" of course one of them would have to be. for her to look the way she did.

'Do you suppose you don't have friends because you don't take the time to make them?' Neena asked, catching something that spoke maybe not of indifference but of an urge to always be moving, even now whilst she was being perfectly friendly.
'I don't mean to be rude.' she added hastily, though maybe it sounded that way. She knew that given time and ample opportunity (ie more that one meeting) she would make a good and loyal friend for anyone that cared to do so, but if he was always searching what he called his 'purpose' than he would always walk away from those he could have in his life.
'I would like to be friends..but if I am stopping you from being somewhere, then I cannot see that happening. I believe that a friend is someone that stops and listens..and gives their time.' she rustled her wings. Whatever was going on with this stallion she would listen to if he felt he wanted to speak of it. But if he wanted to go, she would bear him no ill will.
'I can give mine..will you?' she asked, wanting to know if he would show that he was worth her friendship before she spoke of anything more private about herself.

He ponders his words only to find them true. He had never really taken the time to seek friends or try and make them. Those he talked to he never would really give them time and then he would be on his way. Her words were very true and he never thought about that before. "Your right..i have met others but i have never taken the time..to try and be friends with them or make any..I am just always on the move i assume i dont need any.." "You are not rude..you are making me think about my actions..i should give other a chance..so i can have friends.." he glances back at her now ready to give her the time she needs.
"You are not stopping me i would love to give you the time you need..i would like to be friends with you and get to know you.." he keeps eyeing her not sure about how to start making friends. "I will lisitin to your words.." he sits down and glances around taking in the area. "The weather has been nice recently..do you enjoy this type of weather..?" he tries to make small talk before they get into the bigger things. "I will share my story with you..not many know it.."

Neena really did expect the stallion to just take his leave after she had spoken so frankly, so she was pleasantly surprised when he not only stayed but took her words to heart.
'Everyone needs at least one friend. I promise you, if you take the time to become mine, I will be a good one. I can listen whenever you want to talk.' she smiled.
'I'm glad..' she watched as he lowered himself to the ground, and she followed suit, plucking at a wing before turning to Titan.
'It's lovely, good for flying.' she replied, figuring that if he was talking about the weather that he wasn't well practised at conversation.
'But you asked about my parentage.' she continued, figuring that she should be honest to him as she wanted to be friends, despite her wish to lie to herself. 'Honestly, I don't know. I've never met either, I was an abandoned basket.'

He did need friends someone else to rely on besides his scarce mother. It was hard for him to open up to those he felt no connection to but he needed to learn that skill. Even if he felt like leaving he had to teach himself to stay and make a friend instead of just leave. "I will also be a good friend..who will care and lisitin to your worries and troubles..and try to offer advice on how to solver them.." he smiles at her being true to his word he would do that. "I never lie so that is the truth.." he nods at her and looks around again. He watches her and tries to keep the conservation going.
"Im sorry if im not the best at talking.." he looks away embarrassed "You look like im boring you.." he does not know what to say really "Would you like to fly..? Im willing to if you are..My skills might all go away if i dont get up there" he laughs slightly but then goes quiet at her next words. "I am sorry..I do not know what i would do i i had neither a mother or a father..How did you grow up..? I have two brothers myself though i was never close to them..You already know about my father.."

'That sounds nice to me. I think that it's good to get someone else's opinion, I mean, love is a fine thing, but I bet that it's hard to be really subjective when you're in love.' Neena chuckled.
'At least I think that's how it would be, I've never yet had the chance to find out.' she shook her head. 'No, not boring, just, well the weather is something to talk about when you have nothing to say and I think if we speak frankly we can find plenty to share.'
Neena nodded; 'In a bit, I'm interested to see how a single set of wings affects your speed and ability to fly high.' She listened as he spoke and then replied. 'My basket was found by a mare, she raised me as best she could, though she always admitted she wasn't very maternal, and so when I was grown we parted ways.'
She let out a little sigh. 'I'm thankful that she found me and cared for me, but I wish I knew my family, or even why my mother did not want me...but there we go. Do you get on with your mother?' she asked.
