Aponi had met several interesting people during the course of this ball. However she hadn’t seen the two people she knew should be here. She vaguely wondered if they hadn’t attended for whatever reason, it wouldn’t surprise her about Noah, the male had come across as a bit shy. Though she did hope he was still here, she was a little nervous even though she had met several new friends.

She was just about to start her second round, around old castle when Llyr moved to light lanterns and then the trees were sprouting with fruit. She has been meaning to get over there and ask him a question but it appeared she had missed her chance, no matter. She watched as the trees grew lush and then heavy with fruit and she smiled, clapping her hands together in excitement. She had never seen such magic and this was truly remarkable.

Maul seemed to think so as well, he had at some point throughout the night eaten most of the petals off his flower costume, perhaps with some help from the other herbivores around here. He seemed most interested in this new bounty of food, hopping forward to sit on his back paws and sniff at the fruit that hung teasingly above his head.

Aponi gave a smile; she had no fear of the fruit or the legends and stepped forward to touch the fruit in wonder. She was sure Llyr had made it and if that was the case then it should be safe to eat. It would be rude to refuse such a bounty, and thus she reached up plucking two plumbs from a tree, handing one down to Maul before slowly biting into the sweet juices of the fruit.

The night had seemed to laze by slowly for Rosalie, now fully dressed in her costume, enjoying the balmier weather within the grounds. Her arthritis had died down after the initial shock of entering the warmer dome of air, especially after a glass of wine to ease the pain. She was curious just how many of her acquaintances would be at the ball, though made no real effort to search them out. They would find her when they wanted to.

However, as she wandered around, partaking in various small horderves, she spotted a familiar face, right by one of the trees. The smith, being well versed in various books on the stories of old, including that of the fae, was horrified to see dear, sweet Aponi taking a bite of the fruit. What would it do to her?! She had yet to know much about Llyr, not knowing if he meant well or otherwise.

"What are you doing?" She cried, rushing over to the hedgewitch's side. "Don't you know about the stories? Of eating the fae's fruit?" Rosalie had already decided not to partake, and was scared what it would do to one of her new friends. If Noah had decided to come, maybe he could have prevented this!

Aelius followed behind, sidestepping many people to come over, looking regally down at Maul again before nuzzling against Aponi, inching closer to the fruit in her hand before gaining a sharp glare of warning from his chosen. Dejected, he slunk back to her side, giving a huff.

Aponi jumped slightly at the voice whirling around to look at Rosalie. "Hey!" She gasped slightly letting the fruit slide from her fingers as she hugged Aelius gently. She dug in her pocket and pulled out a sugar cube that she had been hiding away just in case she did meet with the rather adorable buck. She held it out to him before looking back at Rosalie.

"Ah, I just... well if Llyr made it then wouldn't it be safe?" She stilled for a moment. "It never occurred to me it might not be from him... or that he would hurt us." She fell silent for a long moment. "I figured the Queen wouldn't let him hurt us... you don't think..." She looked towards the dais in a slow sort of sluggish fashion before turning to look back at Rosa.

"No... I'm sure it will be fine." She waved her hand shaking her head. She wasn't going to think of such things instead she would rather think of happy things. Or perhaps anything that wasn't boarding on treason, thinking the queen had gathered them all here to hurt them? That was just a ludicrous thought.

"Where's Noah?" She asked rather out of the blue, grasping for a topic change. Though things were starting to grow a little fuzzy in her mind, and she couldn't quite stay focused.

Maul on the other hand seemed relatively alright for the most part. Though he did seem mighty interested in Rosalia's boot, for he had moved forward and was currently sniffing it, his nose pressed against it as his ears twitched back and forth and his eyes cast and eerie glow.

Aelius was very much so excited about the sugar cube, prancing around Aponi in thanks before slowly, and carefully, partaking in the grainy goodness. Awww yeeessss. He loved being spoiled by this one, she was forever a best friend of his growing list of best friends. He made sure to kick the fruit a little ways away out of reach from both Maul and his witch.

"I wouldn't trust him completely." Rosalie warned, frowning. "I would have thought you knew about the stories of those who have eaten the fruit of the fae. The ending is never good. As for the Queen..." There was a brief glance at the woman and her buck, which obviously impressed the smith. "I wouldn't think she could control Llyr if she wanted to. She's not looking too well either...." There was the slightest hesitation at that last phrase, unsure of what might be wrong with her.

She was happy for the change of topic, not wanting to discourage the girl any more than she had to. "Oh, you know him. He doesn't like getting out much. I offered to bring him along, since he got an invitation, but he said he'd rather be tending to the shop. He's not terribly much of a people person." She frowned, obviously just as disappointed.

The fuzz in Aponi's mind certainly wasn't a sole incident. In a far more vivid vision, Rosalie happened to look down to her hands, feeling a few more pangs of pain run up them, and upon doing so, she saw blood. She paled the slightest, though noticing Aponi wasn't reacting, figured it might just be in her head. Sure enough, it was gone a blink later. She nervously shifted, wringing her hands a little. She was careful not to move her feet, watching Maul carefully. "Ah....Is he enjoying the festivities as well?" The smith asked, bending down a little to pat him. "Or have my new boots taken his interest? I'm afraid I'll lose him under this damned skirt!"
