Basic Information
The weapon is essentially a modified, elongated 3GL metal storm grenade launcher designed to be used as a stand alone weapon. Unlike an ordinary 3GL, the weapon is top loaded and loads directly into the breech, without having to move the barrel as well, allowing for the bulk of the weapon to remain stationary when loading (and to not have to flip over the weapon to load it, like would be required of an ordinary 3GL). Although the weapon has an 8 inch barrel (which is a 6 inch barrel is sufficient to stabilize and launch a 40mm grenade), the entire tube serves as barrel, and thus as the weapon fires the barrel gets progressively longer.
3GL can fire 6 shots in semi automatic fire and allows the shooter to maintain eye contact without having to look away; this can increase capacities by allowing the easier transactions of rounds fired. Further, semi auto allows the use of multiple types of rounds in quick succession or to simply fire multiple rounds to increase firepower.
Since the rounds are caseless and smaller, they remove some of the weight of an ordinary round. This cuts the weight of the round from 230 grams to approximately 115 grams, or cuts the weigh nearly in half. This allows the user to carry more rounds, or carry around the same amount for lighter weights.
The weapon is 6.5 lb, and is roughly 8 pounds loaded with 6 rounds. Hence every 6 rounds weights approximately 1.5 pounds.
