I just heard someone do this, and it was very disheartening mostly because they claim to be a Christian and are 'teachers' of the word. I rebuked them and said it's blasphemy to curse someone in the name of Jesus and pointed them to Bible verses about death and life being in the power of the tongue.
Ephesians 4:29 - "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Colossians 3:8 - "But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips."
Jesus forgave us, so we should forgive others and not curse them.Yet this person remains firm in their notion that if someone deserves punishment and has committed a crime, they can pray for that punishment from Jesus.

alot of people who call themselves christians really have no idea what being a christian means and probably just see it as a get out of jail free card. i often see quite a few people who call themselves christian but then go and do the opposite of what the bible says, its what first turned me away from christianity
god is not going to punish someone just because a person tells him to, its silly to think that would ever happen.
