Yeah, lucky me. I'm about ready to graduate, so it's time for me to do my senior project.
I'm posting what I'm doing soon, but I'm just curious if anybody else who is or was a theatre major in college is doing/has done for their senior projects.

What I'm doing has never before been done at my college, and I would be surprised if it has been done ANYWHERE before. Since I'm a theatre/vocal performance double major, the choral director and the theatre director are letting me do a 1-night, 1-hour review instead of a 50-minute recital and a 2 1/2 hour play. They've also let me pick the scenes and songs to perform and who with.
So, without further ado, here's the repertoire I'm doing for "Baroque & Broadway":
Act I: Music Widmung by Robert Schumann Die Lotosblume by Schumann Du Bist Wie Eine Blume by Schumann
Vaga luna che inargenti by Vincenzo Bellini Dolente immagine di Fille mia by Bellini Tornami a dir che m'ami from Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti
Whither Must I Wander by Ralph Vaughan Williams I Bought Me A Cat by Aaron Copland Where The Music Comes From by Lee Hoiby
Act II: Theatre A scene from The Kentucky Cycle by Robert Schenkkan Confrontation from "Jeykll & Hyde" by Frank Wildhorn A monologue from Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll by Eric Bogosian In Whatever Time We Have from "Children of Eden" by Stephen Schwartz A scene from Greater Tuna by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard For Good from "Wicked" by Stephen Schwartz*
*With this song, I'm going to be presenting a powerpoint presentation thanking all the people who've had an impact on my life while in high school and college. It seems appropriate since I may not get another chance.

That sounds AWESOME. I'm a huge Ralph Vaughn Williams fan. Good choice.
I'm a senior, too (in high school). I go to an alternative school, so in our second semester, we do 2 quarter-long projects in areas of interest. My first project is an internship at a local theatre. It's eye-opening if nothing else. xd

my high school does things like that, except they can range anywhere from a quarter to 4 years.
I think it's a great idea for a senior project. Have fun!

Sweet idea!
I'm a vocal performance major myself so I understand having to do the Senior recital thing. I'm doing some similar stuff like you just without the theater dialogue. And I'm a 1st soprano. ^___^
Now this is my only suggestion, you don't have to use it cause I know what it's like when you have to get your list of songs turned in. I would add a piece from a Gilbert and Sullivan show because it is a good interlude to go from classical to Musical theater.
I wish you all the best in your recital! Please let me know how it goes.
What part do you sing? 1st Tenor?

Kate the Curse I did Where Have All the Lightning Bugs Gone. It was my Theatre Arts class graduation peice. My partner and I did it really minimalistically, though, which was cool. It's SUCH a fun piece. So is Eleemosynary. I freaking love that show. My school put it on in my Sophomore year and then I went home and made a pair of wings. I'm not even kidding. I like the way we did Lightening Bugs. We interpreted it a different way then it's intended. Rather then it being the boy returning home from war, it's the girl dreaming about the first time she met her husband. So it makes it really ironic because in the end, when she is writing him the letter, she doesn't know he just died. It was so sad. As for Eleemosynary, I fell in love with this last fall. We host the regional high school drama fest at my school so the majors come and help the kids run our equipment. The one school did it and I just wanted to do it. I need to contact Jim (the director) because he trimmed it down to 40 minutes and it was really nice. He told me that he'd send me a list of all the cuts he made so I can trim it too.

I'm the highest tenor in my choir, able to hit an A before going into head voice.

I think I just died a little on the inside, that's so sad. Imaginative, but damn depressing. You know that act's the first of a trilogy, no? I think it'd be exciting to do all three as a show. That's really neat, you get to do that! Good luck with your choices....I don't think I'd be able to do that. I'm far too indecisive. I'm not too sure how one would go about cutting Eleemosynary down to 40 minutes. Have fun with that!

I'm not too sure how one would go about cutting Eleemosynary down to 40 minutes. Have fun with that! Yeah, I say it done. Literally it was done in 39 minutes and 58 seconds. Two seconds more and they group that did it would have been disqualified. My heart definetly skipped a beat for them on that day. Like I sad though, Jim offered up the cuts he made when I worked on the Nutcracker with him this past year. OMG! I am so excited! We just found out that since next year is going to be the first year we have a musical theatre major graduating, it's going to set the standard for them in the future so we get a musical next year after all! Laurie (the major) is gonna do a musical review of songs from all the shows she's ever wanted to do at our school but got turned down by the nuns. She's literally taking suggestions for the most offensive Broadway songs we can get our hands on. Her senior workshop is going to be a blast!
