 Princess Soyala was in a foul mood. She'd been beaten in a duel not too long ago, and she couldn't so much as get someone to listen to her fume. Honestly, who did they think they were? She was royalty! She was supposed to be listened to. They should've been hanging off her every word. She was so distracted by her irritable thoughts that she ran into something--or rather, someone. "Oof!" She was about to snap at the one who was in her way, but then she saw him. A stallion with a gorgeous blue pelt. Maybe he was a gentleman and would listen to her. "Pardon me," she huffed irritably. If this one ignored her, she wasn't going to be happy.

 Elyan was enjoying a pleasant stroll, all by himself, loving the slight wind through his mane and the warm sun on his pelt. Nothing, absolutely nothing could ruin his day. And that was when he was almost knocked on the ground. Way to go...daydreaming already and you're tripping over stumps. He scolded himself in his mind. But it was quite the opposite, it seemed a very beautiful mare ran into him. Perhaps this day was going to get better! "No, pardon me. It seems my musings have clouded my eyes again. I am sorry to have gotten in your way. I hope you're okay?" Ely asked politely.

Oh? Wasn't he a polite one. "I am fine," she replied. "I was just caught off-guard." Princess Soyala inspected him. My, he was a sight for sore eyes. "I don't suppose you'd like to tell me what your musings were about, Mister...?"

"My name is Elyan Vanos." The male said with a slight bow. Manners were something he learned from his family and thought them very important. "Mostly just trivial things, like how beautiful the day is. It's not often that a perfect day such as today comes along. One where the warm sun is complemented by the slight cool breeze that keeps one from getting too hot. Yes, a perfect day I think."

"I am Princess Soyala. Despite the circumstances, it's nice to meet you, Elyan." She blinked at his reply to her question. The mare looked around, something she hadn't been doing. "Hm. I suppose it is a nice day today..." She sighed. "Your thoughts are much more pleasant than mine."

Cocking his head, the mare looked startled at his thoughts and said they were more pleasant than her own. "Is something troubling you, Princess?" Elyan wasn't sure if she was an actual princess, but if she wished to be addressed in that way, who was he to deny it?

Soyala sighed and shook her head. "It's nothing worth mentioning..." It would be embarrassing to admit that she'd lost a duel against that... that... unnatural mare. "But thank you for your concern." And he'd called her Princess. It made her much happier than she thought it would.

Princess Soyala resisted the urge to sigh and roll her eyes. He wasn't used to this type of thing, was he? Gentlemanly yes, but a little dense in the female department... "... Please wait." She walked after him, glancing away in slight embarrassment. "Would you mind if I joined you?" Her gaze slid back to him. "I wouldn't mind hearing more of your thoughts."

Cocking his head at the female, Elyan wondered why such a pretty mare would want to know what he was thinking. "If you would like to, you may." He said simply. He wasn't going to force his company on anyone, even a pretty mare. Ely wasn't quite sure what to say to Princess Soyala, if she was royalty, surely there was nothing he could do to interest her. He kept his eyes on the ground as he grazed. "I think it might rain soon."

Princess Soyala fell into step next to him, looking up at the sky at his comment about rain. "It is a little cloudy, but why do you think it will rain?" she inquired. Was it just a hunch, or did Elyan have a reason for his guess?

Elyan smiled at the female. "Can't you smell it? Look to the west, the clouds are darker out that way. I don't know if it'll stretch this far but its possible." She sure was a strange one, why would anyone want to know what he thought?

Soyala looked at the stallion incredulously. "You can smell a storm?" That wasn't something she'd ever done. She looked where Elyan indicated. The clouds were indeed darker. "But they're so far away..." Could a growing storm really reach them? This Elyan was something else... No one ever told her their thoughts--most wouldn't even stand her presence after her introduction.

The stallion continued smiling at the female. "Not necessarily smell the storm, but I can smell the rain from over there because of the slight breeze."

This was... actually interesting. "What does rain smell like?" This wasn't her area of expertise--far from it, actually. This wasn't something royalty often did, after all.
