Pandora yawned as she stretched and looked outside at the beautiful full moon and decided to go for a walk and get some dinner, she was starving and she needed some fresh air so she grabbed her bag and placed it over her shoulders and started towards the forest, tonights dinner was deer, she preferred fresh blood from a Pae but she wasn't in the mood to coax one over to her and just take their blood, willingly or not, so she carried on towards the forest, tonight she would eat well.

User ImageFor Criofan's part, he preferred his food already killed.

He also preferred it bought from someone else and already properly prepared to just be cooked and eaten that way, but hey, Criofan didn't need to hunt to have an excuse to wander out into the forest. He was a fae. He liked being out here, as much as he enjoyed his niceties, silver, gold, and anything else that was handed to him on some kind of silver platter.

After all, he had multiple treasure rooms in multiple locations, all of which he was rather possessive of. It was why he did his best to ensure that they had taken minimal damage during the storms ... and if they had, he consolidated. He hoped not much had been snatched from Erylia's old treasure room before he managed to clean that mess up near the Headquarters. Hmm.

Criofan ticked his tongue against his teeth, and bit down lightly on his lip as he took in the environment. It didn't seem like many others were around, and that was the way he preferred it, really. If he was going somewhere to reflect by himself, he didn't necessarily want to be bothered. Of course, when something fluttered by his vision, that desire to be by himself melted away as he was taken over by an overwhelming curiosity, watching the woman as she carried on into the forest with a look of what seemed to be determination on her face. What was she trying to find?

Or did she already know she had found something?

Hm, perhaps she had found something rather valuable. That was certainly a thought. Silver? Gold? Precious gems with which to trade with? Relics?

With the promise of treasure in his own mind, Criofan decided to follow the dark-haired fae, keeping his steps quiet with the art of sneaking he had developed over his years.

Pandora went deep into the forest, paying no attention to anything or anyone around her so if someone was following her she wouldn't know anyway unless they were rather loud about it so she just carried on into the deapths of the forest and stopped when she saw a deer with her baby and just shook her head and moved on, she may be a vampire but she wasn't heartless "now where can another one be?" She said softly to herself before seeing a stag about ten minutes away from the last and put her bag down gently so as to not startle it and took to the trees. Pandora moved as swiftly as a Fae could and reached the tree that was over the stag, she had moved round quite a few trees just to not be sensed by the stag so hopefully, now that she was over the top of him she lowered herself down and then dropped once she was over the stag and bit his neck deep, hard and fast so the creature had no time to even try and run or buck her off and, after a moment or two Pandora felt the body go limp and as it fell she took to the sky and hovered over the now lifeless body.

Pandora settled down and pushed the deer over onto its other side, the side where the blood was now not dirtied with leaves and dirt and took a bite into its neck and pierced it with her fangs and then started to now drink happily from the other side, feeling the delicious warmth of the blood go down her throat, warming her within, she may prefer Pae but animals were definitely the next best thing, especially if they were majestic animals like stags.

Silence was his friend, blending into the environment around him as he continued to move behind her, watching her hair, her movements, the way she seemed to stalk as if she knew there was something there; what was she looking for? Criofan's mind was abuzz with the possibilities, golden and silver and shining in his mind's eyes as his imagination took him on the trips only a riches-obsessed faerie could really take himself on, so distracted by his own thoughts that he almost missed what was happening in front of him.

Of course, Criofan was nothing if he was not observant, and watching the woman move into the trees to stalk something caught his attention nearly immediately, yanking his mind out of his imagination and back into the rather ... interesting reality of the situation. Apparently she wasn't out in the forest to get anything that had anything to do with treasures, unless deer meat could be traded for treasures. He had no interest in keeping completely fresh meat for himself.

The fae woman circled the stag below almost like a vulture. Well, this could be interesting, right? He had never really watched anyone actually hunt, though he was uncertain what was so interesting about it. Hunting seemed to involve a lot of the waiting game, a lot of missing, and worst of all, a lot of ... unnecessary gore and blood. Criofan only wanted his meat juicy if he could decouple it from the animal.

What he saw was not exactly what he was expecting.

When she sprung, she sprung, and his sky blue eyes bulged as the woman just dug her teeth into the stag. She didn't have any weapons, she didn't try to slit its throat, she wasn't taking it out with a gun or an arrow; no, she was literally trying to bite it to death. And it was -- working? It wasn't putting up any resistance? At all?

When the blood was flowing, Criofan sputtered to himself, attempting to hide the bit of mild terror from his expression. He had never seen anyone pull off such a feat before, and she wasn't even trying to take the damn thing apart. Or clean it off, for that matter. Didn't deer have bugs? She was just sucking on it like some kind of ... bloody ... straw. He may have not enjoyed hunting himself, but he certainly knew that was not what the average hunter did with their kills. At least, he thought they didn't. What did he know? Criofan rubbed at his neck awkwardly.

For the moment, the golden fae was rather lost for words.

He really didn't know what he was seeing.

Pandora drank and drank as much as she could and then, after she was done, she got up and walked over to her bag and took out a hunting knife and started to skin the animal, the skeleton she would bury along with the pelt but the meat she would take back to the less fortunate Pae that never really got a chance to eat meat, it was the least she could do and she didn't want to let the poor stag go through this without at least putting ALL of it to good use, it wouldn't be fair on the poor creature when he just unwillingly gave his life to her. Pandora worked quickly, as she went she prayed a little, hoping that the poor creatures soul went safely to the afterlife and thanked it for allowing her to take his life "rest now, be in peace and thank you" she said as she finished skinning the stag and started slicing the meat off it, placing it in the bag she brought and, once that was all done she placed the bag back where she first left it and started digging a hole with her hands, not the greatest of ways to doing this but she forgot a shovel so hands it was.

Would she ever stop?

Something in him was screaming that he needed to fly, that poking at the bee's nest was not exactly the right or even amusing choice at the moment, but another part in him, probably the part that was utterly confused and maybe a bit terrified--that part wouldn't let him move, and there he continued to stand, watching as she made a feast out of what was only moments ago a perfectly living stag that wasn't some kind of blood feast for a rather terrifying faerie. What was she, a Maenad?

Was Magnus involved in this insanity somehow? Unable to rationalize what was going on, he glanced around for his younger brother of sorts, hoping to see him holding some kind of brew with a wicked grin on his face--"Joking!"-- any time now, right? No? It wasn't coming? Criofan bit his lip again, turning his eyes back to the site, just to see her begin to actually take the stag apart.

Oh, was she going to actually eat it now?

Criofan wasn't able to help his squeamish winces, not particularly fond of the hunting process and preferring to keep himself as distant from it as possible. Perhaps he should do that. Before he was seen by the creepy Pae'il who seemed fond of having blood feasts. Yes, that might be a good idea. Why wasn't he moving? Criofan, move! How old was he? He was certainly not a baby; he had his own children and had been alive for many seasons, there was no way he should be so contained in fear and horror and okay, there they went, his feet were finally moving and he was finally starting to back up--

Was she seriously praying over the deer?

Criofan attempted to not trip over the branches while he backed up.

After everything was done and she had finally dug a big enough hole with her hands she placed the remains of the stag into the ground and looked around, noticing some wild flowers growing near by and picked a small bouquet and then took the ribbon out of her hair she tied it around the stems of the flowers and then placed them into the ground as well and buried the remains and silently said one more prayer for it before getting up, picking the bag up and the knife and started to walk out of the forest, the meat in her bag...well, she didn't know what to do with it besides giving it to Tafari so that was what she would do unless she found another who wanted it. Looking around to see if anyone saw her, not that she was expecting anyone to care about what she did, she was pleased no one had as she never did like having others watch her whilst she ate and besides, it was rude to eat in front of others anyway "now, head home or go to Tafari's now..." she said softly to herself as she decided to go to Tafari's first, it was probably better she gave him back his knife now as well as the meat, she just had to figure out where he lived, it had been a while since she had been there.

Criofan winced as his attempts to not trip were not the most stellar, attempting to keep the sounds of the cracks in the branches from being too loud. The last thing he wanted to be was seen by this odd woman. Of course, she also seemed to be off in her old world, looking around--right around him--and not noticing he was there before she continued all of her handiwork.

Who was Tafari?

Never mind, did it really matter? That was where she was going, so that was likely where he didn't want to be. It was time to get out of here. With her moving away, his rooting into the ground didn't seem to feel as significant, and he was able to lift his legs without outright stumbling over his own two feet--but after what he had seen, could he be blamed for his instinctual reaction to it?

So, with her leaving, he focused on getting out of there as quickly as possible. No more forest adventures for him that night. He was done with this. So very done. He wanted to go home and bury himself in his vault. Or maybe he could bury himself in something else. The blankets sounded like a good plan. Hide under those and not think about blood-draining Pae'il. Or anything. Just warmth. And not being drained of all life-force by someone who lept out of the trees like a freaking squirrel.

His quick exit resulted in quite a bit of noise, but he didn't seem to particular care anymore. Criofan just wanted out of there.

Pandora stopped as she heard the noise and looking around she finally saw the one who made it and flew after him "excuse me!?" She called, wanting him to stop "please, wait! I want to ask you something" she called once more "I am not going to hurt you! I just want to know if you want something to eat!" she called, it was late at night, she had eaten and this one, regardless of what time it was, she wanted to make sure he wasn't going to go hungry, not that she was certain he would but she just wished to make sure he wasn't late with having dinner or whatever so if she could cook him dinner and get rid of some of this meat then it would be perfect to let him have some of it. Pandora carried on following him, wanting him to just talk to her, given the way he was getting away from her she was certain he saw but whatever she just wanted to get rid of this meat and if he was willing to take it then so be it "please, I swear, I am not a bad Pae! I promise! I just want to talk to you, that is all, I am full now, I wouldn't be able to feed off you even if i wanted to" she called, knowing that probably wasn't the best thing to say to him but meh, whatever, she just wanted to get his attention even if it was in a bad way.

"Excuse me?!"

Oh dear.

Oh, he was so very dead.

Criofan didn't want to stop, and he didn't let himself. Frankly, once she asked if he wanted something to eat, that just drove him to want to get out of the forest even faster. Home was a bit of a jog from the forest, but he didn't care. He would chug his underused legs all the way there. Nothing was going to stop his heart from pounding and the blood slamming through his legs as he kept himself going, the sounds of his heart beating so loud it nearly made it impossible for him to hear.

He didn't really manage to make it far away from the woman, though, because she seemed relentless, not giving up on following him no matter how much he wished she would just fade into the forest and go join all of the other feral things that lived there, because his mind couldn't come up with any other descriptor to explain her ravage behavior.

Was this girl serious right now?

She was asking if he was hungry after he just saw what she did. No, he was the exact opposite of hungry, actually. Food was begging to make its way out of his digestive system. The last thing he wanted to do was eat oddly bloodless meat from a woman who was probably bloody herself who had such extreme power to take down a stag without so much as a fight from them, and the worst part with all of this was that she just suggested she would feed off him if she wanted to. Even if she wanted to, at that. Usually, when people said that, there was some kind of implication that they might want to. Why would the thought even come to mind if there was no potential reason for her to think it? She had clearly thought it, and he was certain he must have looked like a tasty bloody morsel to her.

She had his attention in a bad way, alright.

"I'm not hungry!" snapped Criofan back, hoping that would get her to lay off the weird, creepy offers.

Pandora took the message and sighed "alright, fine, be that way, judge me before getting to know me, it isn't like THAT hasn't been UNFAIRLY done in the past, but if you just want to be like every other jerk out there then so be it!" She called to the fleeing other "heaven forbid one of you Pae were open minded for once! Not judge a book by its cover and all of that but whatever, later, just remember it is YOUR fault for what you saw tonight, NOT mine, maybe in future, if you are going to be so damn rude, you wouldn't follow someone who is eating dinner if you are just going to hate it!" She said as she flew back towards Tafari's place.

After a while of flying though she slowed down and stopped, resting on a tree branch and placed her back against it, thoughts racing through her head, all she was was a monster and that was all everyone would ever see her as and this comes from a Pae who hardly even feeds off Pae anymore...well, the unwilling sort but whatever she would forever be a monster "whatever did I do to deserve this fate?" He asked softly as she looked up to the moon, smiling softly before pulling her knees up and hugging them. Pandora opened one of the pockets in her bag and took out a picture of her aunt and the Goddess she now called mother and sighed, why did they accept her? Were they not afraid of what she may do when she was growing? She placed the picture back and just sat there, looking at the moon and thought things through.

The girl somehow seemed surprised and rather offended that he wanted nothing to do with her, after she was just declaring that she wasn't a bad Pae'il and nothing was coming to harm him while she came towards him with bagged freshly drained meat. Seriously, did she think he got to where he was by having no survival instinct?!

She seemed a little off-kilter in the first place, but now she was starting to come off as extremely so. Criofan was certainly made uncomfortable with the way she was claiming that he was judging her--well, didn't everyone judge everyone, sometimes especially the ones that said they weren't at all being judgmental? And sure, he would acknowledge that what he saw that night was partially his fault for being overly curious--curiosity killed the Criofan quite frequently--but what he witnessed was also something he had never ever seen a normal Pae'il do before, so his instantaneous response was to assume that, well, she was most definitely not someone he felt like he was going to be alright around.

If just because she made such quick work out of that stag.

Still, Criofan didn't particularly want to find out what else she had in mind after sounding so incredibly infuriated, knowing what she was capable of. He was just going to flee the premise, then. As quickly as possible. Stumbling over his own feet in the process, certainly. Maybe he wouldn't come out to the forest at night anymore. It didn't seem like a good place to be. Maybe if he could ensure he got to the Fae Clearing before the sun went down and just stay there until the sun came up again, then he would go, because there would be no crazy Pae'il that left the blood still pounding in his ears.

It was not an easy jog, but Criofan had one particular location in mind after that fiasco, an exact coordinate of a warm place where he knew there was going to be no crazed outbursts, no blood sucking, and certainly no taking apart piece by piece meat...

Or blood sucking. None of that. No more of that ever.

He was relieved to see the home on the horizon.

Pandora shook her head and carried on towards Tafari's, her thoughts could wait but the meat couldn't so it was best she left to see what he was doing and if he wouldn't mind taking the meat off her hands.

((Care to fast forward to maybe a day or two later? ))

It had been three nights since she had gone out to eat but tonight she had fresh blood, a Pae was willing to give her some so she was lucky to have been able to eat before leaving home. Pandora stretched and then flew out her window and felw straight to the lake and took her hair out of the ribbon before diving into the cool waters and started swimming around, enjoying the water as she thought about the other night, the other Fairy and the fact she was a monster and she just sighed as she just started to float on her back to think the thoughts that were still eating away at her.

Criofan wasn't entirely sure why he was going outside.

Being inside had sounded like a rather good idea after what had happened a few nights prior. His destinations outside of his house had become a very short list, mostly places that were all fairly nearby--Texas' house, for instance, which only took a short walk to get to. A short walk that took him nowhere near that forest, most importantly.

The lake was a fairly large one, but it was a fairly peaceful one, especially after those naiad had moved in and made their home there. He was alright with that. He generally felt like he was under no harm here, and considering that was where his family had set up their houses, it was natural that he felt alright walking outside and nearing the lake.

Of course, he didn't know why he was going outside aimlessly. If he had no goal, perhaps it would be better to go back inside. Something was so peaceful about the air, though, that he took in a breath and resisted his urge to go back inside for the moment. That was what he was out there for. As much as he loved his house, the fresh air of the water at the beach was something he would never want to be away from.

Was that a naiad swimming?

Criofan was not exactly anything like an extrovert, but he certainly was curious, and so, he decided to move a bit closer, pondering offering a hello--that was, until he saw whom was in the water.

... Really?!
