
Padma could not recall the last time she had heard the voice of her parents – any of them. Her family knew of her penchant for exploring, her tendency to get herself lost within a few miles of their home, yet that was not the case on this day. Today, she was bitterly alone, and even the very air around her seemed different than her home. The young mare's soft voice had tried to reach out to any creature that she'd heard, stalking around the woods, but none of them spoke back. She'd been grateful to find a small stream on her first day, but she'd had no such success since then, nor had she stumbled upon any food. She'd never realized how dependent she was on her family, not until now.
A soft whimper passed her lips as she continued stepping carefully through the... forest? It didn't seem like the forest anymore. It was much less often that she found herself tripping over rocks or running into trees, and instead of the cool, shady air that she was accustomed to, the air was much warmer and drier, the land beneath her feet flat and hard, long grasses tickling her ankles. It was worthless to deny that she was lost...
