Sibyl had just been on a grand adventure! She'd met Pickles, a really awesome clown boil with a really awesome view on life that meshed well with hers, and gotten something interesting from their perilous adventure. Maybe she could take Marzena! Or Gabby! Or all her friends! All of them! She floated along, her long shining wings flapping slowly and keeping her in the air. Flying was fun! Was it always like this? She kind of wished she could fly on a regular basis! In her little paws she held her obsidian compass, clutching it tightly like she would do with her own seal skin; Sibyl had worked very hard for this, she refused to let it go. Sibyl was humming a happy little song as she floated along, but really the humming just sounded like a high-pitched string instrument or something that'd been set on high speed.

When the door to the dorms swiveled open, Gabby hopped out, taking the steps two at a time before his boots hit the floor hard. Then he started jogging around it, slowing to a stop when something small and bright started floating his way. When he finally stopped, he was openly staring at the overly bright thing.
"What the.."
He kind of wanted to smack it.

Float float, flap flap, float floa--GABBY! The grumpkin made the happiest of noises and flew in the ghost boil's direction, chittering and squeaking like she was talking to him. In all actuality she was but Sibyl didn't realize Gabriel only heard minipet noises.

And now the tiny glowy thing was attacking his face. Gabby waved his hands in front of him, trying to shoo the thing away, but it seemed insistent, and annoying, and strangely familiar in that way. "Get off me, ugh!" He cried, tripping as he tried to walk backwards and falling on his rear. He put his hands on top of his head, and tried to protect that part of him. "You're probably contagious or something.. geez, why are you bugging me? Do I smell or something?" Maybe you did, Gabby. Maybe you did. Eight OK ILL STOP BEING LAZY U SHOULD DEFINITELY QUOTE ME FROM NOW ON XD

"AND THEN I BECAME A SLIMY CAT THING AND PICKLES WAS A MIRROR AND ONE TIME HE WAS A FISH AND I TRIED TO EAT HIM AND--WHY ARE YOU BEING SO MEEEEEEAN?" Sibyl squeaked and chirped and purred and made just all kinds of little critter noises at Gabby, flying in circles around his head. "FLYING IS SO FUN GABBY DO YOU FLY--smell? You don't smell!" Sibyl attempted what she thought was a graceful swoop and land onto the boil's lap, only in reality she kind of..just... ... She crashed, okay? She just flat out crashed and laid there on the ground...confused.

Protecting his head put the rest of him in danger - but he didn't expect the little creature to try and CASTRATE HIM. Gabby screamed like a little ghoul and picked the minipet up, throwing it back up in the air. "OH JACK WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU!!" He screamed, scrambling back and trying to turn and run away as fast as he could. He never knew minipets could be so vicious.

Gabby stumbled in his run, and looked back just in time to see that the minipet was not following him - instead it was.. wait.. he didn't even know what it was doing. Was it.. crying? Or perhaps that was just the way it prepared for feasting on its prey. He stopped running away, but he only took a few steps closer, and instead of trying to help the minipet, he picked up some leaves and threw it at her to see what she'd do.

Gabby said he loved her! Did he lie?! Why didn't he love her! He was being so mean! The little minipet continued to cry, wailing loudly for a grumpkin; it probably sounded similar to someone dragging claws down the front of a chalkboard. Leaves fell over her and she hiccuped, looking up at the boil who'd just dumped leaves on her. She gave him the saddest eyes ever.

Oh, Jack. Gabby could tell this was no ploy, now. This little.. thing, whatever it was, was definitely crying and being abnormally sad and adorable. Gabby fell to his knees, crippled by the look it gave him, and then crawled cautiously closer. "Come on, don't.. don't do that, little crazy thing. Give me a break, you attacked me, I thought you were going to bite me!" Now he was feeling embarrassed that he was so worried such a small, harmless little fluffball was going to hurt him. With his pride shattered and his heart bleeding for that precious face, Gabby sat down next to it and brushed the leaves off of its head. "Stop. Okay. No crying. Be.. happy, or something. Jack, I don't know! I'm not good at this stuff.. I didn't mean to upset you." He awkwardly tried to pet it on the head, but kept his eyes very cautiously on its face. "I can't believe I'm sitting here apologizing to a minipet."

Gabby came closer and she whimpered, almost cowering under her tiny wings. What was he going to do now? He obviously didn't love her! He'd been lying! He was just being mean and...and..he wasn't hurting her anymore. Her tiny body trembled and quivered with quiet little sobs as she tried to calm down, listening to her weird explanation. Attacked him? She didn't! She was trying to tell him about her day! "Y-you were mean to meeeeeeee!" She wailed, hiding her face under one small wing. He told her to stop crying and told her to be happy. It wasn't that easy right now, okay? The head petting did seem to help. Sibyl sniffed and shuffled closer to Gabriel, flopping down beside him again with her head against his leg. She hugged her compass as tightly as her tiny, stubby arms would allow.

Oh, Jack help him. Now it was all cuddly and cute and harmless. Why had he been so scared of it before? It was probably the cutest, most innocent minipet he'd ever met. "I'm sorry, light brite." He muttered with a frown. "I'm an idiot. Look, I'm not used to - anything. No, whatever, I don't have a good excuse. Just, an idiot. That's all." He was still talking to a minipet, and that still made no sense, but he continued to pet it gently. "You're a pretty little thing. Not sure where you came from. Do you have an owner? Maybe I can help you find your way home?" It was obviously lost - and hell, it even had a compass in its hands. That was the quintessential thing a lost creature would have, right? He reached out, trying to take the compass so he could get a good look at it. "Here, let me help."

Oh the petting was nice. The tiny shining grumpkin gradually calmed down as she was petted and complimented, nuzzling her face against the boil's leg and sagging against him. Maybe Gabby wasn't so bad after all. He just said he was an idiot who'd been scared. Light brite was a new one! She was a pretty little thing, a very pretty little thing. And he'd do well to remember that, yes. "Home would be ni--" He reached for her compass and she gasped, eyes widening and body tensing around the artifact. She jerked away from Gabriel and his curious hand, laying on top of her prize from her epic adventure with Pickles. Oh...wait. That's silly. Gabby just wanted to help. Oops. "I'm sorry." She pouted as much as a grumpkin could manage, turning wide, apologetic eyes up to the boil beside her. "It's mine. Don't touch it, please. I earned it." Sibyl obviously forgot he couldn't understand a word she was saying. She wobbled to her feet again, picking up the compass and waddling around the boil. She stopped to sit at his right side, flopping down beside the boil once again with her head against him. There, much better.

The way she jerked away and kept her compass from him was startling. He froze, half-expecting her to start going nuts over it, but all she did was keep it safe and away from him. In fact, the way her little hands clasped around it and the look she was giving him felt way more familiar than he could comfortably ignore. She was chittering up at him, but he had no idea what she was saying. All he knew was, the way she looked at him, the way she absolutely denied his attempts, it reminded him of something that was really bothering him. Then she hopped away, moving instead to sit on his right side. Instantly, all the discomfort of worrying over what he was recognizing melted away. There, everything felt better. Just like - "HOLY JACK ON HIGH!" Gabby screamed, jumping to turn and stare at the tiny fluffball with absolute horrific shock. It couldn't be. It COULDN'T BE. "SIBYL!?"

The tiny grumpkin squeaked loudly when Gabby suddenly screamed and jumped, staring up at him with worry. Was he going to hurt her again!? Oh! Wait! He said her name. Her ears perked. "Hiiiii~." Sibyl blinked, tilting her head to one side and then the other. Why did he look so frightened? She held the compass as tightly as she could, flapping her wings to lift her off the ground enough to flop onto the boil's lap and curl up. "Flying is hard. Can you fly?" Sibyl. He can't. Under. Stand. You. Stop it. Boils were weird. Why did Gabby keep screaming? That was for humans.
