Arachnae settled down near the small brook and bent down, licking at the large gashes on her shoulders. Her back end was sore, and her tail kept close to her body. Her pink eyes were focused as she looked over her body, looking over the claw marks from that brutish male. She sighed as her head swam as she went over what happened. She had been fine until she smelled, and saw the male mounting that little backwoods bimbo, and then a fire had started in her belly and her mind went black with the needs foreign to her past. She shook out her mane and frowned. She really didn't know what had happened. She thought she had changed, especially after making up with Cecelia, but... perhaps not? Maybe she just couldn't change herself. But why?

D'von had been following at a distance, just as he had when he'd first spotted the mare. This strange, new urge to watch over her was not like his usual recklessness; he could not suppress it. He couldn't leave her alone, even more so since there was a chance he'd bear his children. No matter if they were born by the flirty mare or from another, no child of his would live its life without knowing their father. He couldn't condemn his offspring to a fate even remotely like his own.
But he couldn't approach; not now. She would likely associate her agony with him just as much as she did with Orthus. Yes, she'd practically begged for it and yes, he'd warned her. But that wouldn't matter to the mare now; right now she was in pain and he was one of the last Azrien she'd want to see.

Nae curled into herself, but not before her pink eyes flashed across a blur of purple. "Come out!" She called to the being that was stalking her. She had an inkling of who it was, in fact part of her kind of hoped it was who she thought it was, but she kept that hope tempered by a sense of reality as she licked at her shoulder again.

D'von sighed. He'd been caught. Ah, well, he'd never been very good at stealth. He stepped out where the mare could see him, walking forward only far enough where he could speak without yelling. "I'm out. Satisfied?"

Arachnae studied the male, glad it was him and not the other, though she didn't let the feeling show in her face, seeing as how he obviously didn't think the same way. "Why did you follow me?" She asked calmly as she got to her hooves and stood up to her full height, despite her bruises and scratches.
She seized him up carefully, from the hooves that had been wrapped around her during their intimate moment, to the fangs in his mouth that had clung to her mane. He was a handsome devil, but it looked as if he had a bit of an attitude problem. She decided to take the offense in this situation.
"Alright, Fangface. Out with it. Did you just not get enough of a taste of me before? Cause I can give you a better taste, but it won't be the pleasant kind." She said as menacingly as she could, just before her legs wobbled, nearly crashing her body to the ground, but thank heavens she was still standing, if not a bit woozy.

D'von sighed quietly. Mares. "In all honesty, no, I didn't. But that isn't why I followed you." He pulled a front hoof back, which he'd instinctively moved forward when it looked like the mare was going to fall. "For one thing, I didn't get your name. As for everything else... are you sure you can handle that? You're snapping at me for just being here and not speaking to you flirtatiously."

Arachnae grimaced as she began to wobble again, but managed to gently set herself down on the ground beneath her and glared at the male. "Oh. I'm sorry. Is it wrong to snap when you're in pain because some brutish male decided to use you as a scratching post?" She sighed and tucked into herself. "What do you want...?" She asked tiredly.

"In all fairness, I did try to warn you about Orthus." D'von glanced around their surroundings as he answered the non-rhetorical question. "I'm here to watch over you." His eyes glided back to the mare. "And... to be there for any offspring of mine that you might be bearing."

Nae sighed and rolled her eyes. "And why would you want to do that?" She watched him carefully.

Because Orthus's actions had made him sick. Because he had claimed her his. Because of this infernal new impulse that refused to be quenched. But those weren't things he was planning to share with this flirtatious mare that hadn't even given him her name before requesting his intimacy. "I might be a monster, but I'm not heartless. I don't plan on abandoning my own children, especially to a mother who I doubt is capable of taking care of them."

Arachnae's eyes snapped open and she sent a hot glare at the male. "Wait a minute. Abandoning any children to a mother you doubt will be able to take care of them? Are you kidding me?!" Her voice rose an octave or two as her anger got the better of her. Her tail lashed out angrily and her pink eyes seemed on fire as her body began to grow hot with anger. "First of all, as you have already pointed out, You don't even know me, so who the hell are you to assume anything about me, let alone that I would abandon children of my own body! Second of all... no wait! There is only one point! You! Don't! Know me!" She snarled out, tempted to lash out and bite at the male for his impudence.

D'von's calm mask cracked. His eyes narrowed. He easily dodged her attack. "Who the hell am I to say that? I'm the stallion that you seduced into mounting you before we even exchanged names," he replied sharply. "And at the same time, you riled up the most notorious rapist on the island and incurred his services. What reason do I have to think that you have enough logic to take care of children?"

Nae's shocked expression soon returned back to one of anger. She stood up, her pink eyes never leaving his face. This was it. She wasn't going to stand for this, and she didn't have to. Without another word, Nae whirled, her back to the male, her tail whisking behind her as she did so, and began to limp away, her back leg having to be held aloft due to another, deeper scratch left over from Orthus. "Since its so important to you, I'll be sure to send word." She called over her shoulder, her voice tense as she hobbled away.

Great. His temper had gotten the better of him. Once she was a good distance away, he started tailing her again. It was a much greater distance this time, but she would go ballistic if she knew he was still there. How was he supposed to protect someone who didn't want him anywhere near? Maybe he'd get lucky and she'd go far enough north that there would be tree cover...

Nae traveled another mile or so north before she had to stop again, this time actually falling down because her legs buckled. She breathed heavily and struggled to bring her legs in closer to her body. The sun began to fall and she was out in the open, vulnerable to the wind. She gave a little shiver as she tucked in tighter, ignoring the pain from her wounds as she worked for her body heat and warmth. "Damn stallion, thinking he knows everything..." She fussed as she settled down.
