With spring round the corner, the nights were certainly warmer now in comparison to the fateful night of Dallol's awakening and induction into the war between Order and Chaos. A war that she was slowly learning more and more of with each passing day and encounter with the Senshis, Knights and Negaverse agents who played an integral part in it. Yet the young Page couldn't help but gradually realize that some of the information she had acquired so far weren't quite matching up, thereby giving rise to a situation in which for almost every answer she received to her questions, even more started popping up.

It was all starting to become very confusing for her really as she found herself questioning if those who chose to side themselves with Order were as bad as the Dark Mirror Senshi and Negaverse officers made them out to be. Maybe not the Knights if what Camelot shared with her the other day could be taken as what they stood for and believed, but if that was the case...

Perched atop the edge of one of the skyscrapers in the city, Dallol cast her gaze upon the city below, her eyes and inner radar searching for a stronger aura similar in make up to her own. She was lost. She knew it and she very much hated the situation that she had somehow landed herself up into at the moment. Even more so when she didn't know how she should go about resolving the issues at hand so that she could move on subsequently.

She just wanted to talk to somebody, anybody from her own faction tonight. Perhaps glean some pearls of wisdom from his/her own experience with regards to what he/she did back when he/she was a Page like her. There would be no fighting for her tonight so long as whoever crossed her path didn't come looking for trouble or tried to drag her back to the Order against her own free will.

With less than two weeks left until his wedding, Valhalla found himself even more restless than usual. He was typically more than happy to go throughout the day as usual, going to class and then baseball practice and then spending his time with his fiance, but once Paris fell asleep, much earlier than he was ready to go to sleep, he ended up wandering the city, looking for ways he could keep the civilians safe and chaos free.

It didn't take long for him to pick up on an energy that seemed to be gravitating towards him. At first he wondered if it was just a coincidence, but soon realized that, no, they were definitely heading towards him.

Valhalla stopped where he was on the roof of a low building, at least in comparison to the skyscrapers around them. It wasn't a particularly busy part of town, but one that he'd found got more than one youma a week. That was the reason he'd started there first, after all.

Not wanting to make the Page do all the work, he moved to the edge of the roof and lept to the roof of the next building, closing the distance between them, until he felt they were close enough for him to wait if they really wanted to get up with him.

His eyes widened in surprise when he saw it was a girl he'd never met before, but still smiled as he would when meeting up with a friend. "Hey," he greeted, letting her have her space if she wanted it, "I don't think we've met... I'm Valhalla of Jupiter."

The physical enhancement that came with powering up was something that Dallol was still trying to get used to so she picked her rooftops carefully, not at all fancying the idea of falling from such a height and learning firsthand for herself if a Knight could survive something like that. Even if she did by a stroke of good luck, she couldn't really imagine the recovery being a pleasant process in itself altogether plus it would keep her away from her true passion soccer for a long while.

The owner of the aura was getting closer to her, his/her intent echoed by the Page's own as she sprinted then made the final leap that would take her into its owner's immediate vicinity before having to stop herself in order to stare incredulously at the Jupiter Knight's attire. Was it always going to be like this whenever she ran into one of those that belonged to the same faction as herself? Dallol found herself wondering, a couple of seconds having transpired by the time she was able to conscientiously stop herself from staring at Valhalla to offer a self introduction in return.

"No we haven't. Name's Dallol, Page of Uranus." His demeanour was much alike Camelot's back when she had a run-in with the Earth Knight. Warm, pleasant, amiable and sincere. It made the inner conflict she bore within herself even harder to resolve than ever as evident by the smile she wore on her face not quite reaching her eyes. "So this's... what you do every day? Patrol and keep the entire city safe as its inhabitants slumber?"

Valhalla tried to ignore the staring, not really sure what it was about his outfit that drew her attention as much as it did. If anything, it made him feel self-conscious and wished he didn’t look so... strange. As if no one else looked strange.

Even still, once she began her introduction, he reached up to remove the winged helmet from above his brow. He took a moment to try and fix his hair with a quick brush-through with his fingers, and tucked the helmet under his arm, much like he would his baseball mit.

But her question had him hesitating, taken slightly aback and staring at her in return.

“I... what? No. No way,” he said with a laugh, relaxing after a moment and wondering if she was being serious or just teasing him. “I’ve got a life too, you know. School, practice, ball games... sleep! I mean... I would like to do this every day, and I try to at least put in an hour or so every night...”

He paused again, frowning as he recalled just why he put forth the effort to run around as a strangely dressed vigilante. “I can only keep the entire city safe if I have help from others, like you.” There were too many people he cared about for him to not try and do what he could, no matter how little it was.

Dallol didn't mean to stare really. Staring was usually looked upon as rude but, in her defense, it wasn't as if she was used to the garb that all of them donned whenever they chose to take on this alternate form momentarily. In fact, she wasn't even sure if she would ever get used to all their different outfits ever if there were as many of them covering the entire of Destiny City itself as she could imagine, even if she had not the benefit of knowing the actual number of White Moon Senshis, Knights, Negaverse agents and Dark Mirror Senshis out there.

"... we all had a life until this... happened to us." She began offering her own opinion with a shrug, ceruleans gazing upon Valhalla as she figured him to be around her age, probably older but at the very least younger than Camelot for sure if she had to guess based on his appearance and what he had brought up thus far. "Is it enough? Just an hour on a day to day basis like you've set for yourself?"

Came her first question, blunt and to the point and probably coming off as a little standoffish on her part. It was comforting to know that he could perhaps understand part of her thought processes and what she was going through so long as she tried to make them known. Hopefully without being too judgmental or self righteous since she had just about enough of that from her rather unpleasant encounter with a certain Tiger Senshi awhile back.

"How much is enough really? And just who are we supposed to keep the city safe from..?" She frowned as she folded her arms across her chest though not before rubbing them to warm herself up a little. It probably seemed like an out of the blue question on her part although it offered a glimpse of her current state of mind with regards to the war itself, hence her decision to follow up shortly with a vague explanation as if to rationalize the basis for her question. "It's just that everyone seems to make sense... somewhat." Vague and awkward as expected for someone who wasn't used to speaking her mind.

She was conflicted... he could see it in her eyes, although about what he couldn't be certain. Other than the initial questions of 'how did this happen', he hadn't questioned who he was or what he fought for... The answer would have been the same regardless of whether or not he'd awakened. He fought for the innocent, he fought for second chances, third, maybe even fourth — redemption for those who sought it, and understanding for those who didn't. He considered himself friends, or at least close acquaintances with people from both the Negaverse and the DMC, and yet he'd never questioned his own morals.

"We all still have a life," he countered gently, "Two lives now, if you want to get technical. But I think I know how you feel... My fiance went through a similar post-awakening crisis..." It wasn't exactly the same since he was certain Ganymede never questioned himself, just why it was necessary and why his life had been 'ruined' as he saw it.

"As for how much is enough..." he started, hesitating to think about it, looking her over as she crossed her arms. It was a bit chilly out, and here he was with the extra padding that came from being a knight of Jupiter, and she was in barely anything. "Jeez, you really didn't have any luck with your outfit, did you? And I thought the helmet was bad," he breathed out a sigh, lifting his hands to unhook the short cape from around his shoulders, the helmet in question still tucked under his arm.

"Here," he offered, holding it out to her. It was a thicker material, so it would be warm, and soft enough not to snag at her delicate clothing. Whether or not she accepted it, it wouldn't matter to him. Just as long as she was comfortable. For all he knew, she might have just had a sudden chill.

"It's not really something I've set... Right now things seem relatively peaceful. Last summer there had been several civilians who somehow got trapped in space, and I spent practically all my time outside classes bringing supplies and helping out where I could. Many others did the same. I know it feels like you're trapped, being a knight and all, knowing you have power and the ability to actually do something... but deciding how much time you have to dedicate is really up to you," he told her, his voice steady and sure, doing his best to speak from his heart despite not always being the best with vocalizing his feelings.

"If you don't have a lot of time, then you don't have a lot of time. I'm not going to allow being a knight to ruin my GPA, or keep me away from the animal shelter I volunteer at... but I do want to make a difference, one step at a time. As for who we're keeping the city safe from...." he hesitated again, although it was mostly for her benefit, not wanting to talk her ear off. He would never question what he thought was right. "I try to keep it safe from criminals when the police can't get there in time... but more importantly... from the youma and mirror wraiths that prey on people's energy and starseeds...

"But..." he continued, offering her another small smile, "If you have trouble deciphering what other people tell you... just remember that the only one whose opinion matters is your own."

"You have a fiance? But you look kind of young..." Dallol blinked a few times, surprise evident on her face as she went over what Valhalla had just related again in her mind to ensure that she hadn't gotten her facts or words mixed up. Given the current trend, he was probably a couple of years early compared to the majority of the Destiny City population though she supposed that there was a chance that she had been way off with her estimation of his actual age. Then again, it probably wasn't her place to judge on this issue anyway. "Is she a Knight like us?"

She took the cape when it was offered, affording him a soft smile of gratitude as she wasted no time in draping the material over her arms and front, heaving a barely audible sigh at how it managed to keep out a good part of the cold that still lingered in the air. "Thank you. Honestly speaking, I think I'm still trying to decide if the weather elements, or the wolf whistling I tend to get from others like us or ordinary civilians are worse at this point." The smile on her face grew wider as she spoke, the Page gradually warming up to the older Knight as could be seen from both the look in her eyes and the way she carried herself now.

"That makes sense really. Doing what you can with this life, yet not forgetting what you had set out to achieve in your original one." She nodded her head slowly, taking first one step then another towards him before tilting her head to the side with a wistful look on her face next. "I've been asking around but I want to hear your take on this so tell me, what are youma, mirror wraiths and star seeds?"

Nothing judgmental or self righteous from Valhalla up till this point. So far so good. "What if you woke up one day and realized that you were on the wrong side all along..?"

Guine
It's alright. Lol... and lookie~ More questions and more chances for him to talk Dallol's ears off. xD
PostPosted: Sat Apr 20, 2013 7:46 am

The smile on his face grew at her initial questions, unable to stop himself from laughing softly. "I am young," he admitted, having received that comment more times than he could count ever since deciding to follow through with the whole marriage thing. "But no, he's not a knight. He's actually a senshi," he revealed, hoping that his tone of voice would let her know he wasn't out to trick her about his fiance's gender since... gender was such a relative way to describe things, anyway. Ganymede was more inwardly female, so Dallol wasn't incorrect — it just wasn't as big of a deal some people make it out to be.

His smile faltered a little when she mentioned being wolf whistled at, shaking his head in exasperation at the inappropriate behavior of others. "I'm sorry to hear that... It wasn't your choice what you end up wearing," he sighed, crossing his arms over his chest as they continued to speak to one another. "If you point any of them out to me, I'll be sure to reiterate that to them. Our own kind should know better than that, at the very least."

Valhalla wasn't entirely sure what she meant about asking around, unless she was just talking to whomever she could meet. Maybe she just wanted to be thorough in her research, collecting information from a number of sources? It seemed logical enough, although he worried that she might be placing herself in danger in her quest for knowledge.

Not that he was one to talk, having spoken to Generals and above when he was still new into all this.

"Youma and mirror wraiths are products of Chaos. I'm not entirely sure how the wraiths come to being, but I've been told youma were once humans, corrupted beyond the point of being saved... Starseeds are, well... our souls. They determine who we are. Everyone has a starseed, but not everyone is a knight or senshi... And until Chaos took over, there was no Negaverse or Dark Mirror Court... Our starseed... I'd imagine is more important than our very lives. As long as they're still intact, we have the ability to be reborn, or passed down. But if they're destroyed or corrupted..."

He shook his head again, stopping there for now, for it was her second question that had him looking her over with concern, wondering if she really was troubled about this whole business of being a knight... being in this war. He could definitely understand that, but he'd never questioned himself about what he believed in... It often lead to arguments with others who didn't think his way, but he was willing to fight to protect his ideals.

"Is there really a right and a wrong in all this?" he asked in return. "I don't mean any disrespect, but who are we to decide what is right and wrong, or good and bad..." He feared that she would think he wasn't taking her seriously. She must have asked the question for a reason, and he didn't want to sound as if he was making light of it, but this was what he believed. "There are too many factors built in to determine right from wrong... the worst person in the world is still capable of doing good... just as the most righteous are capable of doing bad...

"But there is a direct divide between Chaos and everything else," he said, his warm smile replaced with a determined look to try and explain in a way for her to understand how he felt. "Don't get me wrong... I don't think all of those affected by Chaos are evil. They're still human. They still have normal lives like the rest of us. They go to school, they have jobs, they have dreams... But the difference is that they no longer have ultimate control of their lives. They live for Chaos, they fight for Chaos, and in return, Chaos decides if they live or die. Yes, they have order within their groups — the DMC and the Negaverse. It's a militant society involving rank and power. There is 'order' within Chaos that many have found appealing, unlike the 'chaos' that seems to control those of Order.

"Whenever we get together, we argue and disagree and make accusations of each other — the senshi and knights. There is no real 'order' at all. Many don't respect each other because they don't understand or don't want to try to understand. But when it comes down to it... when there's something we can do to make this world a better place, we work together," he continued, knowing she might be too new at this to have witnessed it first hand, but there was nothing wrong with a little warning, right?

"Arguments and disagreements are put on hold so we can work as one... And that's the difference between the 'order' of Chaos and the knights and senshi... While Chaos answers to the thoughts and demands of those ranked above them, every single person of Order is allowed to have their own opinion. From the most experienced to the newest, everyone is allowed a voice. We're still physically able to question things, to form our own opinions. Do you think someone in the Negaverse would be allowed to even think about talking to another officer about what the 'right' or 'wrong' side was? They'd be reported and maybe even killed. That's how an 'ordered' militant society works...

"So... when I wake up every morning, knowing that I still have free will... that's all I care about."

"Needless to say, he's a White Moon Senshi. Right?" There was a look in Dallol's eyes when she put forth her guess as to the faction that Valhalla's fiance belonged to, everything that she was told about the White Moon Senshis by far instantly coming to her mind as she went along with the pronoun he had used without thinking too much about it. Until it finally hit her a full five seconds later, a mixture of curiosity and amusement on her face as she gave him her take on the matter.

"He huh? So you're..." She paused in mid-sentence for a bit, hesitant to even use the word 'gay' since she didn't know his take on that and didn't want to risk coming off as being offensive or anything. "I think that's pretty neat really. Love is love even if your partner turns out to be of the same gender. Did you meet him as a senshi first or..?" She couldn't resist asking really. It was one thing to read about these people and their love stories on the net. Yet now she had a real life example of such a pair who were about to mark the next chapter of their lives together with marriage on the cards to boot. She had no intention of probing further should he choose to evade her question in favour of keeping the details of his civilian life private. After all, he was the one who had brought all this up first so she would take as much as she could get from it.

"It's okie really. I would like to think that we're all responsible adults here so if they choose to keep that up, I'll just have to smack some sense into their heads with my ladle then." The young Page quipped in a lighthearted tone, the grin on her face in actuality masking the surprise she got from his offer to gently remind others to refrain from showing their 'appreciation' towards her outfit. It was really nice of him to offer to do so but no, she hadn't brought it up with the intention of seeking his help in resolving that particular problem which she would like to think she had under control somewhat.

"That's what I was told. About the youma I mean, but are they really beyond redemption? Or is it just a hearsay to discourage anyone from trying to find a way to save them from their fate?" The expression on her face took on one of seriousness with the change of topic in their conversation. Again she was mindful to not mention who it was she had heard all these from, not wanting to detract from a topic that she was still trying to learn more about before earning herself an earful as to the company she had been keeping since her awakening.

"There isn't at the end of the day. It's just something that we chose to come up with and most people fall into varying shades of grey rather than the outright black or white that we will rather work with out of convenience." She shook her head as she spoke, her words probably making her sound far older than her actual age. She found herself agreeing with him really. There was no strictly good or bad person out there. Anyone who chose to believe otherwise were outright deluded in her own opinion.

"That's how the military works I guess. You have your orders and you are expected to follow with due diligence without questioning them." She could understand how the Negaverse hierarchy worked with the rank system and all, given that the military system was also prevalent in certain organizations in society. Sure it wasn't the best way to go about things at times, but one had to admit that that made them more efficient to a certain extent. And that brought her to another question now that the Jupiter Knight suggested the issue of how Chaos could cloud an individual's judgement.

"What I don't really get is how Chaos directly affects a person's free will like you've said. I mean... how do you know that it isn't the same for those in the Order? How do you know for sure that we are not living in the same facade as they are made to believe?" It wasn't her intention to challenge the ideas of someone who had been in this Powered business for far longer than she had been. She didn't see herself as having any other way of going about it if she truly wanted to hear what someone on the Order side of things had to say with regards to the matter.

Guine
And down another rabbit hole we go~ =3
PostPosted: Wed Apr 24, 2013 6:58 am

"White Moon Senshi..." he repeated to himself and shook his head lightly. Even though it had been over a year, he still wasn't used to using that term. "I think he'd prefer just 'senshi'... many others do as well. We've met the Moon Queen, or at least her ghost... and I can't speak for others, but he and I weren't too impressed." Identifying as 'White Moon' seemed to negate their efforts when so many hated the Moon Queen on both sides. "The Negaverse in particular hates the Moon Queen for whatever happened in the past, so I try not to make any connection with the senshi, as both might be offended." And he wanted nothing but peace between all of them.

Valhalla smiled at her hesitation, not offended at all by what she thought even if being called 'gay' wasn't entirely correct. "It's complicated," he said instead. It didn't bother him if she had questions about it, but since he wasn't a hundred percent sure himself, it would be difficult to explain, and so let her think what she wished. "Aside from knowing each other in our past lives, we met as civilians first... but then I met him as a senshi on a separate occasion. Even though I revealed I was Valhalla, he didn't let me know who he was until much later." Anyone who knew Valhalla would have probably expected him to power down by now, but he had made a promise to be more careful about flinging around his identity ever since he found out that Ares might know his identity.

He smiled at her declaration of self-defense should anyone bother her about her outfit, glad that she was taking it in stride. She was someone he thought would made a great ally, but until she decided for herself what she wanted to do with her life, he would refrain from pushing her farther into the war.

"People have tried looking for a way to redeem them in the past. Some people are still looking for a way. As as much as I hate the business of killing them... as long as they come after civilians, I'll continue doing so. I would love to find a way to save them from their fate, but I don't think we have the power yet... Aside from destroying the heart of Chaos, I mean..." Which was not something to be taken on lightly.

As she became more serious, the more worn down he looked. It wasn't because of her, but the questions stirred up memories of every person who had been killed in front of him, or how Chaos had taken hold of those he once knew.

"It changes them..." he said simply, for lack of a better way to describe it. "Chaos takes hold of a person's heart... sometimes slowly, sometimes immediately... and it warps them. They're no longer who they once were... Did you know that... once you're corrupted, you lose your memories? Sometimes your civilian life is gone..." Like Avalon... and what he'd heard of Lina... "Sometimes it's both..." Like the time he'd met Lyra... "But no matter what, you're not the same. Can't you feel it? You can't say you've been completely blind to the aura each faction gives off if you found me. If you close your eyes and really feel with your heart... you should be able to tell."

Chaos just felt... evil... and he wanted nothing to do with it. It scared him, even... that some would seek it, unknowing of the price they were paying.

"The Moon Queen... so how was she like?" Dallol pursed her lips together, brows furrowed as she tried to figure for herself why Valhalla and his Senshi fiance would arrive at that particular conclusion regarding the Moon Queen herself. Things weren't quite matching up in her mind no thanks to the increasingly glaring gaps in knowledge that she had when it came to important historical information such as this. Gaps that needed to be plugged one way or another so that she could have a better understanding as to what motivated each faction in this war.

"I don't understand. Aren't the Senshis and Knights, those of the Order, supposed to fight for her or something?" She gave a frown at that, not at all liking the fact that she was oblivious to all this simply because she was a late bloomer. Not that she could do anything about that other than listen to what the older Knight could share with her this evening. There would be a time for her to do something about this. Just not now.

"Sounds like the both of you have been through a lot despite your age. I'm glad that things worked out for you in the end." She was truly glad for them indeed and it showed through the smile on her face. The expression on her face gradually shifting to one of acceptance as she too echoed his view on the stand that he had chosen to go by as of now. "... I like your way of thinking. That's how we should be using this power we have been given, right?"

It was like a switch had been flipped in her when he spoke of the way Chaos could warp a person and their sense of individuality next. The young Uranus Page fell silent entirely, an unreadable expression now on her face as the colour drained from it entirely. "... I didn't know that. No one told me that at all. How did you know all that?" She found herself thinking of Buddingtonite almost instantaneously then. Did he know of this yet chose to withhold this piece of information from her so that she would go along with the idea of joining the Negaverse? No. He didn't seem at all like the type to do something like that. After all, he had no reason to hide anything from her. Right?

"Is it the same for those who chose to stand with Chaos from the start then?" She looked away from Valhalla, suddenly feeling quite ill and needing to sit down or something. Wrapping the borrowed cape tighter around herself, she found herself quivering like a leaf, her mind still shell shocked over what she had just learnt from the Jupiter Knight. "I know how the aura that corresponds to each faction feels like. It's just... I don't know..." It wasn't that she didn't know. More like she didn't want to know. Not now, not ever. "I... I should go..."

”The Moon Queen was just a figment. She wasn’t really there,” he said, his arms crossed over his chest. “I realize we’ve only come across her once, last summer... and in retrospect it was during a time we thought she could have acted sooner... If she had, more would have been saved... Maybe we haven’t given her enough time to prove herself. But why should we fight for someone we don’t even know?” he prompted, shaking his head at his own thoughts. He didn’t want to doubt people, but it seemed as though she had the power to save so many more than she had...

“I don’t know who told you we should be fighting for the Moon Queen, but it seems to me they don’t know much about being a senshi... or a knight,” he said, his voice still soft. He didn’t want her getting upset, especially since she was apparently confused about things. “Being a knight means you get to decide what you fight for. I do my best to protect civilians and work towards peace... Coexistence, even. But you can choose who to fight for, what to fight for, and what you believe in.”

Or at least that’s how he felt about everything. Valhalla didn’t want Dallol to think he just wanted to beat up on Negas and DMC, because that wasn’t the case at all. If they could find someway to live together peacefully, he’d be all for it.

And then she suddenly started getting upset, and he hesitated, hoping he hadn’t been the reason why. “My friend was corrupted,” he told her, not wanting to upset her, but not wanting to shield her from the truth. “Avalon... a knight of Earth... Once she spoke to me about how she’d been almost killed by the negaverse a number of times... how they’d almost taken her starseed from her... and now... now she’s one of them...” he said sadly, swallowing back the wave of emotion and regret that was suddenly deciding to surface.

“Just... be careful... I don’t want anything happening to you. Even if we just met.” He took a step towards her, hoping he wasn’t crowding her. “No matter how much Chaos takes over, I still believe in the goodness of others,” he offered, hoping she wasn’t going to get sick or anything. “There are some good people in the Negaverse and DMC, but...” he trailed off, not knowing what more there was to say on the subject. If they had orders to kill, they’d do it... he was sure... If they didn’t, they would be risking their own lives...

“You can keep that,” he said, nodding to the cape. “It won’t disappear until I power down... I can take you home, if you’d like? You’re not looking too well...” And again, he wondered if it was his fault.

"You mean like a ghost?" Dallol was half tempted to ask Valhalla just how was a ghost, or a figment for that matter, supposed to act or exert her influence on something that existed on a different plane, but chose to hold her tongue at the last moment before the question even had a chance to slip out of her mouth. It was almost equivalent to asking how the both of them were able to stand before each other as knights, taking on a different name and donning an attire that obviously didn't belong to this world. There was simply no explanation when it came to things of this nature was all.

"It's... just something that I was told." Again, she made sure that there was no mention of any names that could hint at who she had gotten that particular notion from. An unnecessary action on her part perhaps since it probably wouldn't take much for the far more experienced Knight to eventually figure out, by law of exclusion or something along that line, where she could be getting the misinformation from.

"Is that so? ... I was told that I wouldn't have a choice in that." And yet another inconsistency. Her head was starting to hurt a little from everything, a frown on her face as she reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose to try to get herself to focus on what she was being told about the knight of Earth whom they had already lost to Chaos. "Avalon... Camelot... does he know? She's an Earth knight so she's supposed to be with him right?"

Taking a step back, she managed a weak smile, her head shaking a few times as she removed the cape he had loaned her, only to hand it back to him. "No... no. I'm fine really. I just need to get something to warm myself up then sit down for a bit to think over all this." She had already imposed on him enough for the evening and in return, he had given her plenty to ponder over for a bit. "... thank you really. For telling me everything." In time, she would need more answers though not from the Jupiter Knight who now hovered over her with a worried look on his face.

Yup! Perhaps a wrap within the next 1-2 posts? Dallol will definitely have to cross paths with Valhalla again after she made her stand subsequently. ^^

”I don’t know,” Valhalla admitted with a shake of his head. “I don’t know if she was a ghost or what... she seemed to exist within our plane of existence, and yet... It was almost as some knights describe their ancestors, if they have one. Someone who’s there, but not...”

He knew it was confusing and he probably wasn’t making much sense, especially if she wasn’t sure what he meant, so he stopped for now, listening to what she had to say. And when she brought up Avalon and Camelot, he frowned lightly in confusion. “I... I don’t even know if she knew Camelot... Just because knights are from the same planet doesn’t necessarily mean they banded together... or even got along.” He didn’t even bother mentioning how he only knew only two other Jupiter knights... All he knew was that he was upset by the revelation, and definitely never wanted something like that to happen again.

“We’re all knights... I feel the same towards you as I would anyone from Jupiter...” He sounded like he was speaking mostly to himself, too lost in thoughts of Avalon’s fate. He looked up as Dallol handed back his cape, and he took it reluctantly. He really wouldn’t have minded if she’d used it. It wasn’t doing him any good.

“Yeah, any time... be safe...” he requested, looking at her mournfully. He was worried about her, but he couldn’t exactly control what she did. He wasn’t like the Negaverse. Instead, he watched her leave, and he remained on the roof for a few minutes longer before heading home.

"Ancestors..." It seemed that so long as the conversation was allowed to proceed and run its intended course between both Dallol and Valhalla, it was natural that more and more unfamiliar terms along with their associated questions were bound to surface. Eventually. The Uranus Page blinked slowly, the traces of confusion that was initially reflected on her face smoothing back as if it hadn't even been there, the term that had been brought up tucked in a corner of her mind for another conversation in another setting.

One thing at a time lest she lost track of everything she had gleaned from today's exchange of words with the Jupiter Knight.

"I see. You're a good person Valhalla. I really hope that our paths will cross again." Her smile was a little brighter, her parting words genuine and sincere as if attempting to reassure the older Knight that everything was fine and dandy on her end before she set off, a grave look etched on her face the moment Valhalla was behind her as she pondered over how best she should proceed from here on. She would need some answers soon. Other matters would have to come later. Much later.
