In essence this is a completely new guild. But a few of you who have been in my previous guilds know that there have been previous Heroic Era guilds. However this is a new start, so being a member of that is not needed. Regardless there are some small parts of lore that you need to know before immersing yourself into the world.
Magic: The mysterious unexplained force. Making something come form nothing. Technically anything that cannot be explained is magic. Is springs forth from Chaos created by a planet and feeds off the mana of its user. Magic usually comes into existence when a Heavenly Body wishes for it to exist.
Heavenly Body: Any planet or star. In Heroic Era, planets and stars are sentient lifeforms, and are the strongest and most mysterious beings in the universe. Heavenly Bodies have on duty, the protect the life that lives on them. Yet very rarely can a Heavenly Body actually ever do something. They can only commit to two options: creating ties to lifeforms so they may speak, or creating Magic. Examples of Heavenly Bodies would include Sol, Hello, Aetes, and Aris from previous Heroic Era guilds.
Heroes: Those chosen by the planet to wield immense power to protect the Heavenly Body. The name itself is a misnomer, as Heroes can be both morally just or completely evil. Heroes are the only beings in Aetes who can use magic. Heroes only subconsciously know about the Heavenly Bodies, and are driven internally to work for the better of the world, in any way possible.
Paradoxes: Beings who should not exist, but do. This is usually a result of an error in the flow of time. Becoming a paradox usually results in developing powers, often for the purpose of sole destruction or manipulation. Paradoxes are unable to have children as they are rendered infertile. However, there have been exceptions to this rule, usually the child of a paradox takes a turn for the worse.
Super Science: Technology that can match Magic in power. Usually, it requires a being of near superhuman intelligence to create Super Science, how its use it usually understandable to anyone. Usually Super Science takes the form of an object, often a special weapon, but sometimes it can be a mutation or chemically induced power. No matter what, Super Science is this: Technology that can match Magic in power.
Order: there are two great powers in the universe, Order and Chaos. All life and magic, even technology stems from the two. Neither is particularly good or evil, a Hero is always aligned with one of the two. Order is the power of stability, it is when things stay exactly the same, it stops change. Heroes that follow Order are usually good at team work, believe in a strong government, organization, and have strong morals. Perfect Order is nothingness, the absolute absence of anything material, since life is naturally going to change.
Chaos: The power of change, and nature. Chaos seeks to keep a pace of constant change, however too much change causes instability. That is why Order and Chaos counter balance each other. Heroes of Chaos usually live away from Society, do not believe in organization of anything, and believe in the individual. That does not mean they are without friends, or are anarchists however. Perfect Chaos is Entropy.
Faux-Paradoxes: Similar to Paradoxes in nature, but less dangerous. A Faux-Paradox is a being that should not exist where it is as a result of a force of nature that isn't time. Faux-Paradoxes create Chaos, and contact with Order can wipe them from existence if they aren't careful. Faux-Paradoxes do not receive special powers and usually aren't destructive in any way.
Law of Parallel Worlds: The law that all worlds that humanity exists in, specifically Sol and Aetes, mirror each other in odd ways. On Aetes, there exist individuals that are direct counterparts to the people of Sol. Usually, these counter parts have VERY LITTLE in common with each other, save for a few small similarities.
About Aetes
- Aetes is a planet about a quarter as big as Earth.
- Aetes is not a traditional planet, as it is made up of several floating continents. Most of the Earth under these floating continents is just dead land that is uninhabitable.
- Water does not exist here, all animals survive solely on what they eat, and plants get everything from sunlight. Drinks do not exist to the people of Aetes.
- Humans on Aetes look exactly like any other human, but the chemical make up of their body is extremely different from a human. They still however act and look exactly alike.
- Aetes has extremely advanced technology, including Super Science. However their society is that of a Medieval level.
- Sexism was extremely common in Aetes until the rise of the Anubis Corporation nearly 100 years ago, since then society has changed and women have the same social standings as men.
- Airship is the most common way of transportation in Aetes. New Airship designs and technology is the most common form of Super Science research.
- There are all manner of races in Aetes, but the dominant one is humanity. All non-humans are extremely rare and dying out quickly. All Non-humans of magical status such as vampires or dragons are automatically Heroes.
Counterpart Cultures
While not completely alike, most of the nations are similar in culture and people to a specific country from our world.
Avalonian Sky Kingdom- Medieval England
Imperial State- Prussia/Teutonic Knights
Hainsworth- Renaissance Italy
Paragon Valley- Victorian England
Heroic Era: Phantom Interval (Open/Accepting)
Aetes has been peaceful for decades, but now the planet itself needs Heroes to defeat a new enemy: time itself.
