Malta was exhausted from the party, yet she was still awake, standing at the entrance to her quarters unhappily. She had to move her things now to the weyrling area.
She didn't want to go.

she nosed her's hand apologetically,

Malta laughed shyly. "No, its fine! Wonderful! Great! You are wonderful..." she bent down to hug Poecileth, smiling. "I love you. I can come back, so its fine. And I have you, and you are very important." Very very important.
Malta couldn't imagine how she had lived without Poecileth.
Poecileth was happy to hear the love in Her's voice.

Malta giggled nervously.
"Yeah..." she felt warm and fuzzy. So many people! And she had met them all!
She wanted to curl up into bed and slip happily away to dreams to wake up the next morning to Poecileth.
She couldn't wait.

But... Her room.

she surveyed the room herself and then sent out a gentle call to her siblings, she sent a smile along with the words along with the sense of 'its all right, you don't have to'

Malta simply looked at her adoringly. She was so happy!

Her new room was rather barren. Saain relaxed on the dragon couch, Serinuth sprawled over her legs and stomach as she combed through the packet of letters and loose sheet charcoal pictures. Saain counted them, fondly recalling the news. When Sunny started to crawl, when he got his first tooth, his first word, when he started to toddle. It hurt to know she had missed it, just living each milestone through letters and words.

She had something to actually tell her son, more new then the tedious day to day existence at Wardens. She now had Serinuth and was a step closer to getting out, to having guaranteed early patrol. To actually holding her son again. Saain shut her eyes, folding the letters and set them aside. Enough reminiscing.

Serinuth was comfortable sprawled on her rider, soaking up the warmth provided and calming down after being surrounded by so many of her siblings and their bond partners and just so many new things. She warbled softly, lifting her head as the calm voice of one of her siblings mind voices called her. She questioned softly. she gave a soft chirp, turning her head.

Serinuth questioned, nosing her rider. She like Poecileth, her green sibling was calm and gentle and they could help, couldn't they? Maybe?

Saain paused, thinking. 'Poecileth is the young healer's green? Malta?' She questioned, attempting to place the pair. 'Ask if she is comfortable having a prisoner help her move, if you could Serinuth?' She stroked her dragon's head.

It was not the sibling she had expected to respond, but not many would be awake, or have bonded that were. Not if Malta was any indication.
She hadn't even considered the prisoner thing.
she sent a gentle reassurance her way, After all, Serinuth was very sweet.

"Uh..."
Poecileth added, too hurredly for her own taste, She hand't met Saain, but Serin...

"Ummm..."
Malta wasn't scared of prisoners, not from general pop. Not when people were injured and Bereck and Berath and Dino and Disk were around.
"Ask... Ask where she's from. And... um..." She flushed. also the indirect thing felt so wrong and yet so right. She didn't want to sound... mean. She wasn't mean. "Nonowait nevermind!" there weren't any candidates from outside of General pop! She'd heard someone say this. And they didn't let people with nonviolent crimes in either...
"... Tell her its okay and say thank you."
Malta leaned against a wall.
Ohhh... she was so tired. She felt so warm and fuzzy and snuggly cozy... If she just closed her eyes she knew she would be sound asleep. But she had to move out!

Poecileth leaned her head against her gently.
she sat next to hers,

"Yes... ah... right. Both" she rubbed her eyes.

Serinuth settled down a bit mollified and calmer, chirping slightly as she was sent good vibes. Poecileth thought she had chose well and she knew she had but it was nice other's thought so as well. Serinuth waited, and waited and she answered correctly to Poecileth questions hadn't she? She hadn't said anything impolite or rude or or

She said, frantically and calmed and shifted, worried. Serinuth replied, eyes whirling.

She didn't sound dense did she? She had forgot to ask and ooh, she needed to get off hers if they were to go to Poecileth and hers. Serinuth stepped down from the couch. < Are you alright mine? Did I harm you?> She hadn't meant to but she had sharp claws.

"I'm fine lovely." Saain reached down, gently stroking over the green hatchling head. "Let's go find them." She left her room, stepping into the hallway and glanced about, well... everyone seemed to be asleep.

That was important. Poecileth realized, to her embarassment, that she didn't know where they were, actually.
She knew she should cut herself some slack, being newly hatched and all.

"Oh, um..." Malta blinked away sleepiness, "Near the clinic..."
Poecileth could piece together only a bit of the information she thought was relevant.
Aha. She had an idea!
she said, trotting into the hallway a moment and looking up and down. No definitive marks? hmmm...

"I should have... gone back a bit earlier..."
commented Poecileth with a smile.
She trotted back.

Perhaps Serinuth's would recognize it.
"It's... near the clinic which is a... uh..." Malta's eyes drooped.
Poecileth grabbed the image of the clinic in Malta's head and sent it, dream hazy and all, to Serinuth. Okay, maybe that would work.
She was a bit puzzled, but she would know soon enough.
she said with some concern, letting Hers slump into an uncomfortable catnap against the wall. She'd nudge her awake when Serinuth and hers got there.
She could feel the dreams begin in Hers. Ah, so beautiful. she nudged peaceful emotions into Malta's mind and stretched out on the floor, as far as her small frame could go... but she couldn't keep contact with hers and keep an eye out the door. She was just too short.
She nuzzled Malta before sitting by the door, watching the guard pass by the outer door to the hallway on their rounds, her contrasted muzzle moving this way and that as she waited for Serinuth.

Poe looked back and forth as Malta dozed. What a place to be, this... prison. She had her work cut out for her. A glance back at Malta, a happy whirl of the eyes. But she had her light here by her side. See, she was dreaming peacefully. Poecileth crooned, her own eyes drooping in tiredness. Together, they were...
Oh dear, she had almost fallen asleep herself. She shook herself awake a bit.
Oh?
Was that a bit of bright green in the glow?
It was her dear sister! She sent a warm greeting, standing a bit outside in the hallway, She said, bobbing her nose and, as they approached, greeted Serinuth with a loving nuzzle (a bit droopy and tired, but still confident)
she said, giving Serinuth one last nuzzle- her sister needed assurance, she was doing wonderfully and Poe was so happy to see her- before padding over to Malta and nudging her.

Malta woke up to a voice in her head. It was so strange.
"Hmmm?"
Poecileth licked her forehead lovingly once.

"Oh... okay..." Malta's eyes began to droop
Another nudge.

"I guess I should..." Malta muttered, falling asleep again into one of those dreams where she was waking up. She was just so tired.

Poe looked at her a moment, eyes whirling concerned.
<... Perhaps we shouldn't have gone to the party...> mused Poecileth, It would have been nice to speak to Serinuth's directly... but the warning on the sands was too fresh. She never wanted to be rude to her Serinuth, her dear sister.

Poe worried. Surely Serinuths would be a wonderful person to have at Malta's side, Serinuth was wonderful herself. So Poe wanted to make sure she left a good impression.
She knew she had an excuse for her confusion. She was but a day old, after all.

((Malta definitely doesn't have much. Books and notebooks, maybe some sheets, a drab spare clothes))

Serinuth cooed softly, nosing her sister back carefully. She followed her green sister to hers, her bond partner walking beside and then ahead of her. Serinuth twitched her tail, peering up at Malta.

Poor kid was nearly asleep on her feet. Saain walked slowly to the young girl and gently reached out to set her hand on Malta's shoulder. "Come on hun, just stay awake a little bit longer so we can get you moved into your new room. I'm sure you rather sleep in your bed then against the wall," she said softly, gently handling the girl and having comfortable, supporting hands on her shoulder. "I would offer to carry you but I wouldn't want to impose."

Considering how tired the young girl looked, she probably would end up carrying her or at the very least giving Malta a shoulder to lean on as they made their way back to the barracks. "Come on, Malta, stay awake a little longer."

admitted the dragon, ... She thought. She had messed up, but honestly. Who could blame her? She was just out of the egg. Poecileth was confident that she would make mistakes, and that later she would not. She looked up at Malta,

"Mm?" Malta opened her eyes at someone touching her and blinked up at them sleepily. Oh... that was... who was that... She didn't know... did she? He eyelids drooped.
they fluttered open again at the patient voice, ... yes that was where they were supposed to go. Poecileth was pleased she could remember. She tried to share 'awakeness' with Malta, but being tired herself, she discovered that wasn't a sharable emotion. Ah well, worth a try.

Moving. Right. Moving. She had to do that. She managed to stand up and, clearly exhausted, fumbled with her things for a bit. Books. Yes books. Pile them up. Carry them. one fell. She stared at it, feeling fuzzy and warm.

suggested Poecileth.
Yes. Next time there was a party, they would stay MUCH shorter. She would make sure of it.

she said to Saain before she forgot that that talking to another's bonded was impolite and rude enough to be a killable offence. Plus, what if it made Serinuth uncomfortable? Or Saain?
Her eyes widened, whirling with worry and embarrassment. She should not be screwing up so much! More sleep too. Yes. She would learn the things she needed to, she was sure about that. But for now...

Saain shook her head and knelt, picking up the dropped book. "It will be alright, you don't have to move everything today." She took the bundle of books from the girl and glanced around. Perhaps, yes, there. Saain walked to the bed and picked up a blanket, wrapping it around the girl's shoulders and picked up the pillow, pushing it in her arms. "There, that should be all you need at the moment...."

She paused, froze at the strange voice in her head before looking down at the softer color green and gave a business like snort. "It is alright. I think moving can wait till the morning though. Or I can gather the rest of it myself if needed."

Had? Ooh, she very much had. Serinuth squirmed, uncomfortable and shrinking. What if her Saain liked Poecileth better? She nosed against her bond partners skirt, tail flicking unsure. <... Poecileth... is forgiven.>

Serinuth was upset and it was Poecileth's fault. Poecileth knew that. Oh shards, how could she have been so stupid. So blind. So foolish. She had to be more careful, guard her words and thoughts better so that she could do her job by her siblings and theirs. And she had already screwed up with Serinuth. Horribly. Big time. Not a good track record to start with. Poecileth was sure she would improve eventually, but she was still mentally kicking herself.
A bit of shame, but what she said was true. She hadn't meant to cause Serinuth the distress she saw whirling in her sister's eyes. She wanted anything but to be the cause of that.

Poecileth's anxiety leaked through their bond, and prodded Malta closer to wakefulness. A good deal closer, actually.
Malta asked her dragon before she even thought to do so.

No, she should tell her, Yes, Malta shouldn't be bothered with Poecileth's problems, her ungainly and awkward attempts just out of her egg to be politic and diplomatic.

Oh. Malta looked at the pillow. Moving. Right. She looked at Poecileth worriedly. It wasn't nothing, she could tell. Well, now that she was sort of awake she could manage to carry the blankets and navigate without someone half carrying her.
"I... Thank you" now that she properly saw Saain without the haze of half asleep dreaming fogging her brain (anxiety was a powerful defogger. And fogger, for that matter) she could see that the other woman was very pretty. Malta wished she had curves and lovely hair and skin like Saain. But all she had was padding and thin hair that never did what she wanted it to. She'd never be beautiful. And she seemed so strong...

She thought so anyway, and tried to burn it into memory. Her clutchmates humans were as much persons as her clutchmates. She would at least try to know their names. she might fail, but she would at least try. <...and You Are Beautiful, Malta> said Poecileth emphatically, but her attention was elsewhere so it didn't have the force to it that it might have later on.

Serinuth muttered moodily and whined. Ooh that had been so very rude but Saain was hers! Hers and Serinuth was not Poecileth and why couldn't Poe be quite. She slipped behind Saain, whirling distress eyes just peering out occasionally at Poecileth.

'Serinuth, she is never going to be mine.' Saain replied softly, and nodded at Malta. "Come on hunny, I can move your stuff while you sleep." She shook her head and looked over Poecileth. "Poe, it will be fine." Hatchling and children, they worried about the simplest things. "We are all tired and it very much past everyone's bed time. Come along now."

'I would never give you up for Poe, Serinuth.' Saain said softly. 'Now be strong for me, can you do that my love?'

Serinuth replied, uncertain.

Poecileth knew when to back off. Her sister was upset. Her sister had misinterpreted. This was her fault. Poecileth apologized to the world for her mistakes.
She would get better. She was just out of the egg. Serinuth would forgive her mistakes, but she needed to give her sister time to do so. In the meantime, she could not let her dismay at causing this upset get through to her Malta.
she said, trying to sound professional, but the streaks of yellow in her eyes gave away the worry she couldn't quite shake.

Poecileth may have tried to hide her anxiety, but for a brief moment Malta felt it. She looked puzzledly at her dragon for a moment before Saain's reminder got through to her.
"But I don't want to be too much trouble.. I can carry some things."

Poecileth spoke to her rider and her rider alone, leaving only a subtle broadcast of peace, well-being, everything is all right- something that would hopefully soothe her sister.

"Oh.. okay...?" But she could carry stuff now. She was a bit awake now! She picked up her books (most of her earthly posessions) and followed Saain.
