Shards, how long had it been since Leevi had time to just be in his office? It felt like weeks but, in reality, had been merely days. Marti and Dan were absolute taskmasters, to the point where Leevi felt he was developing a distinct tic every time Dan so much as looked at him or Lasoth. It was nice to return to the familiar surroundings. Given Dan's feelings about the mutant colors, the opal hatchling wasn't doing much better. Sometimes, it was nice to have a place to retreat to.
Lasoth trilled with delight at the little room. It wasn't much, but it was new space! More than that, she felt the way her rider's mind immediately calmed as soon as he walked into the door. This was a safe place. The smells of old leather and fine tea permeated the place, with hints of ink and meals eaten while working. It was very clearly a workspace. No mere living space could accumulate so much junk. She immediately clambered onto one of the soft chairs. Despite being too bulky for it, she curled up in it anyway, careful not to let her sharp talons catch on the fabric.
I like this place, Leevi, she said with a croon. It feels... warmish. Like sitting in front of a fire with company. So... this was where Hers worked? Before she came along? She sat up on the chair again, large eyes taking in the room in its entirety. She wanted to know everything about Hers.
“Good. That's good. Are you ok there?” Let's see... he'd fed Lasoth earlier (despite V'tyai's orders to learn how to butcher a wherry properly, Leevi still shied away from the idea of killing something; it simply made his stomach roll and betray the rest of his body). Oiled her hide to keep that shiny skin from cracking.
Yes, I'm happy. with a yawn, the hatchling curled up in the chair for a nap.

Malta knocked at the door to Leevi's office. Over the past few days, she'd actually gotten to know him and his dragon- Poe's lavishment of love on Lasoth helped- and she decided that it was time to finally talk to him. She had wanted to talk to a mindhealer for a while now, actually. She couldn't remember exactly when, but certainly after Kaeylandra... both she and Poecileth gently stopped the thought of the crying woman on the sands and spirited it away somewhere else in her mind. Yes. She had been so upset, so unsure, so uncertain that she had wanted to talk to him. But... he was so busy! And she was scared that he'd think her trivial.
But Poecileth wanted to go and visit him and Lasoth, so, armed with an excuse, she had ventured forth. "H-hello?" she asked timidly, peeking around the door, Oh he was in and... he wasn't busy!
asked Poecileth politely, peeking through the door as well, the colors in her eyes softened, She approved of the lovely sheen of her sister's oiled hide. Her own had been oiled and her belly full of awkwardly butchered scraps.
Malta didn't like killing things. Carving them was another matter. She could do that part. But when they were alive... Still she had applied herself to it. She'd get better, for Poe. And it seemed like a good idea to know how to carve a wherry. She'd like to learn to cook someday.
"May I come in?"

Poecileth! Lasoth's voice was practically a rainbow of delight as she greeted her favorite sister. It was probably wrong, wasn't it, to have favorites? But Poe was just so sharding precious and Hers needed all the love and support she could get. Leevi, it's Poe and... and... she hesitated, unable to remember Malta's name at first. Malta! Her Malta! she finished on a triumphant note, pleased that she had recalled her sister's rider.
The opal started to get out of the chair when her Green sister told her to stay put. Well, she was fine with tha--- no she wasn't. She wanted to be with Poe! Come up here then, Poe, she invited her sister into the chair, budging up so there would be room. It would be a very crowded chair, but she didn't mind.
“Oh! Hello,” Leevi said, in a similarly cheerful tone. He liked to think of himself as always having his door open, so drop-ins didn't bother him. “Please, come in.” Gosh, he was going to need some more chairs, wasn't he? There were three in the room: the two large comfy chairs and then the one behind his desk. Well, that was fine. He could take the uncomfortable one and, from what he could hear of Lasoth's conversation with Poecileth, the dragons would take over the other comfortable chair.
“How can I help?” he asked.

Poe joined Lasoth on the chair, squirming a bit so that Las could use her as a pillow instead of having to take her weight. It was awkward, but, despite it being difficult to fit two growing dragons on the chair, Poe was happy. She gave her sister a nuzzle. She looked well, she felt well (and well fed), her hide glittered, and she smelled well. She curled her tail around Lasoth. Things were well. "I... uh..." it was easy to be distracted and hard to be nervous when the dragons were being so adorable. Malta contemplated actively trying to be nervous, simply because it felt so odd to not be so. Poe gently admonished, she winked at her bonded. "Oh, yes... right." Malta sat down in the comfortable chair. She tried to stay serious and sit still, but it was hard to stay serious when dragons were being very cute nearby, and when she was still a bit nervous. She fidgeted. "I'm Malta..." Noooo I introduced myself already and he thinks I'm a dimglow aaaaaah "W-well... I had some questions. That maybe you can answer?" she hesitated. Poe didn't even need to say it to her anymore by this point. Malta had only to glance at the two dragons to know she was doing fine. she could feel Poe's reassurance in her head. She was doing fine. "About... um... important things." She guessed they were important. Maybe he wouldn't think so, he was an adult. commented Poe, very certain. She would try to remember his name this time. For Lasoth.
