At the end of the Sailor Stars manga, Usagi and Mamoru get married. However, I was unsure of exactly when this took place, and if it deviates from what we are told in the R chapters of the manga.

I suspect that it could be after Usagi is crowned Neo-Queen Serenity and the establishment of Crystal Tokyo, for a few reasons:

1. The huge bed that we see the couple in is similar to the one shown in Neo-Queen Serenity's room in previous chapters.

2. There is an image of the Crystal Palace above Usagi in one panel.

3. Usagi wears her Queen crown during the wedding.

However, is she really 22, as stated in the R season? The R chapters state that Serenity was crowned when she was 22, gave birth to the Crown Princess, and never aged past this point.

During the wedding, Usagi says that she feels that soon, their daughter will be born.

However, and maybe it's because she's wearing her hair differently, I can't tell if she is really age 22 and whether Crystal Tokyo has actually been established.

Sailor Cosmos does say that eventually, all the Star Seeds will be revived in the 30th Century...

I have read the original Japanese version, so know that I am not going off any translations.

My issue is with how old Serenity/Usagi looks in the last chapter, and that's why I can't tell whether it's deviating from what we are told in R or not. From the art, it's hard to tell whether it's Neo-Queen Serenity or not. The Neo-Queen has a certain style, a certain look to her...know what I mean?

Please give your thoughts on this.

1. Do you think the image of Crystal Tokyo above Usagi's head in one panel is just her thinking about it, or do you think it means to show that the future has at last been reached?

2. Is Usagi 16 or older at the time of her wedding?

3. Has she been crowned Queen at the time of her wedding?

4. Do you consider the events of the Parallel story to be part of the official timeline? That is, do you believe that she got married at 16 and continued a normal life in the 20th century, and may or may not have become Queen later in life at age 22?

I want to say one thing here: No one is RIGHT or WRONG here. This thread is to simply state what you believe, not to get into an argument about whose viewpoint is "correct." If there are any heated arguments, I shall ask that this thread be closed. Thank you.

From what I gathered; you can get married at the age of 16 in Japan IF you have parental consent. Usagi got engaged when she was 16, it would make sense she would get married at 22. Not saying she did at 16, but she would need her parents consent, and I doubt her dad would allow her to marry at that age. 22 seems about right, and if you watch the Live Action Special, it was mentioned Usagi was in her 20's when she married Mamoru, and yes it dropped hints that she was pregnant if you payed attention closely.

I used to always wonder if she was 16 when I first read it. The young age threw me off, but there was never a real indication of a definite time skip in the manga.

It's possible that she was 22 years old. However, would Crystal Tokyo already be established before she was married? Does that mean that Crystal Tokyo technically had a matriarch ruler?

I took the light that came from Usagi to mean that she was pregnant, having possibly conceived Chibiusa very shortly before the wedding. That somehow, she felt the energy of Chibiusa's star seed within her.

The manga doesn't make it clear, I realized, how long after the scene in which Usagi asks Mamoru to repeat his proposal that they actually got married. That's also something to think about.

You make a very good point. If Chibiusa was conceived before the wedding, Usagi could very well have been 21 at the time of her wedding, and then been crowned after the birth of the princess. Though she could have been crowned before, or the day of the wedding, seeing as how she is wearing Neo-Queen Serenity's trademark headpiece.
