What foods do you feed your cats? I feed a combination of wet and dry and mix brands. I currently cycle around the brands Chicken Soup, Weruva and Royal Canin. For treats I use Greenies.

Yeah Meepers and Maki are extremely finicky eaters, these were the brands that pasted their test. They do not like whole fish ( The cans with sardines and other canned fish.) unlike Loki and Stitch. They do like flaked tuna and tilapia though. If they do no like a food they will not touch it period and will starve for week/ dig through the trash or go after your food.

BTW: Anyone tried tasting a cat kibble for themselves? cat_sweatdrop The brands they like tasted like a jerky flavored cookie. The brands they don't like tasted like meat + plastic. cat_gonk Yeah I did try them. cat_xp

I feed VIP Pet Foods Fussy Cat biscuits, which are grain free and apparently Australian made, which is a bonus. There's three flavours and I mix them all together. The cats get that twice a day at the same time as a small amount of wet food. I feed them Fancy Feast or Dine wet food; I've been trying the same brand wet food as biscuits, but Minstrel doesn't like them. We've also tried Whiskas, but it upsets everyone's tummies.

I feed a combination of kibble and wet, both get water added to them.

For kibble, it's generally Acana; we're still on a bag of Go! right now, though (I bought the bigger eight pound bag by accident).
For wet, I rotate between Wellness, BFF and Actr1um, sometimes adding in Go!, Weruva (I don't like it because being like soup it's harder to divide into two portions; I prefer stuff that's a little more solid) or other brands that look interesting. She generally gets two days of wet added to her kibble a week; four on the weeks we go with Wellness.

Treats are dried meat ones, usually types that I've bought for the dogs. Right now we have a couple flavours of Orijen freeze-dried, duck tenders, dried shrimp (these ones were in the cat section), and some fish ones (I think one's tuna and one's herring, we might have a salmon one as well). She also has some Evo treats that we'll use with the clicker.
I'm highly particular about foods/treats and refuse to feed things like Greenies or Temptations to her.

I tried giving them a grain free food before but those are the kind of cat foods they will starve from since they won't touch it. I guess my cats are the evolved to eating grain type. As for jerky things they don't like it either. I end up feeding those to my turtles. They do love jerky made for humans though. The all natural beef, venison and turkey without salt and spices.

We still have a packet of Temptations that the girl who used to feed Tansy gave us when we picked her up.. .that's the only treats we've used. I haven't actually looked at the ingredients or anything though... any reason in particular you avoid them?
Assuming we have the same ones in this country as what you get there... I might need to find a new variety of treats though!

I won't feed them for the same reason I won't feed Whiskas/Friskies food.
Same company, same quality level.

Plus, from what I recall (I bought a pack ages back to give to my uncle's cat when I'd watch her while they were gone), they're not the easiest to break up into smaller bits for training purposes, which is the only reason I really use treats typically (it's why I like the dried meat ones [or completely soft 'treats' like hotdogs], because I can vary the size of each piece I give out based on who the recepient is and what they've done to earn it).

Cat food. I feed them mainly Orijen kibble, sometimes mixed with Taste of the Wild, and various free sample baggies I pick up, and Whiskas or Friskies wet food.

For treats both cats LOVE Temptations. And we currently have 4 flavors available in the cat cupboard. And we have calming treats, Laxatone, cat n**, honey, etc we give as treats. We give them sparingly and trick sessions usually last 3 treats (Loki's case is generally 5/day)

Does it really say biscuits on the package? XD Im just asking because thatd be awesome.

And I love locally made stuff! The kibble I get is from Canada, but its directly NE of me here. All other food I generally get (kibble wise) is US made.

Does Minstrel perfer chunky foods or patte foods?

I ... don't know. But, having checked out both the bag of dog biscuits and the cat food website... possibly not. The dog biscuits have gone out of their way to avoid calling it anything, the cat biscuits call it 'kibble'. Once. On their website. I can't check the actual bags because I chuck them in the bin after I open them, I keep the biscuits in a container.
It is what everyone I know calls them though. Australians, huh? xd

I always buy Australian made/grown stuff if I can. I know there are some things that can't be produced in this country... or shouldn't (Side rant - seriously, why would anyone grow a water sucking plant like rice in a country that is in drought more often than it's not? Gah.), but, for the most part, I'd rather support the people here than the people pumping out massive quantities of stuff cheaper overseas.

I think he prefers patte, but it's a close call. Generally, he gulps down whatever he is given but, if there's anything left, it's usually on the casserole ones. Uh... chunky ones. smile

When you feed Whiskas wet food, it doesn't upset their tummies at all? My lot were fine, until Whiskas was the only wet food they got for a few days, then they all got awful diarrohea, so now we're going to avoid it altogether. I'm wondering if the contents are different here, or if my lot just have dodgy tummies.

Freyja used to be that way with the Whiskas fish pouch but now I have to invest in something else entirely to get her to eat quicker. O.o And its all produced in thailand or china so Im assuming your getting the same product.

Apparently our Whiskas is made in New Zealand, which was slightly unexpected, but probably not incredibly surprising. So it may be the same... or it may not!

And we're about due to get more biscuits; probably today because we need some other stuff. I'll check when I've got the new packets!

We feed Starshine Fancy Feast turkey flavor for most of his meals and give him dry kibble when we aren't home if he wants to nibble.

But he prefers to steal my tuna sandwiches when I'm not looking.

Zygmunt is allergic to chicken which makes it difficult since almost every popular cat foods has some mixed in, and what makes even trixier is that he gets bored easily so from time to time he refuses to eat and then I have to stalk my vet to find me some new cat food which he can eat without endangering his health (one of the reason he stayed with me: I don't trust anyone else could take good enough care of him, another reason was his absolute cutness and perfect understanding we've reached instantly)...

Pearl eats anything I give her. cat_confused

Dry food: Purina Cat Food Complete.
Due to her being outdoors and such, I find this to be better for her than getting the indoor formula.

Wet Food: Meow Mix
They're the only wet food without too many weird things in it that I can afford. Pearl likes the pates and the ones in gravy. I hate mixing weird flavors like beef and shrimp in one container. She gets the pates, and turkey or chicken in gravy.

On very special occassions, she gets Fancy Feast for holidays and her birthday. cat_biggrin

Cat treats: Pounce
I perfer moist treats over dry because the dry treats tend to be like dry cat food in a container (in my view). Pearl gets a treat for good behavior, play-time, and garnished on holiday meals.

The chicken flavor ones come in little heart shapes, because she knows I love her with all my heart. <3

Other things: Mice.
She hunts, she brings them home. Only rule: Mice stay outside.
