Zamanateth landed with the watch group, having made an extra circle just to look at the delightful scene below. Ai smiled slightly, if a bit long-suffering-ly.
Ai wasn't so happy about the Ichor on the sands. Just what had happened here. Just what would happen here. She looked at M'onk, eyes narrowing. She knew him. She'd need to keep her eyes on him. But for now, she was retired.
Zamanateth grinned a sharp, sharp grin,
Ai undid her straps and prepared to dismount,
Zamanateth perked up, peering over the stands at the new hatchlings, It was not with disgust that Zamanateth noticed the hatchling's unusual colors... but delight.
Ai paused and looked for herself. What was this? Odd colors? ...
She was not happy. It was off, somehow. Wrong.
Zamanateth's eyes whirled a gleeful hue, along with their everpresent red-orange. Ai resumed disembarking, uneasy.

'Well.... At least mother is happy...' Seth commented as he looked over at his golden mother. She seemed very pleased with the blood shed, which he wasn't all that surprised about. 'Mine, it is hot here.' he sated as he looked around at all the blood and ichor. This looked like one of Zamanateth's flights it was so stained. It made her happy, but not him. He did not like death when it was not necessary.
A'vin patted her bronzes neck, still sitting on the huge bronze. He was taking his straps off as he could see his mother was. 'It seems that we will have our work cut out for us here...' he said back to his dragon. 'And don't worry, it will be snowing here next week.' he added with a smile.
'Snow? Really! I do love the snow, how strange that the weather would change so dramatically...' and there he went not understanding that what A'vin said was just a joke.
A'vin laughed. Even after turns and turns of being together it never got old. 'It is a joke, there will be no snow. Not here, not ever.' A'vin explained before dismounting and heading towards his mother to help her off her gold.
If dragons could frown, Seth would be frowning. 'That was not funny.' he said simply to his rider before looking at all the new colors of dragons. 'Mother, what are those.' he asked Zamanateth curiously. She was mean, and most of the annoyed by him (well that was what Seth thought anyways) but she was his mother, and there for other then A'vin the only other one that he could always bother. Plus, he was her strongest and biggest bronze! She was proud of him and loved him the best of all her children, even if she would never admit it.
A'vin smiled before reaching his mother and Zamanateth. He bowed to the queen and held out his hand to help his mother dismount. "I was just telling Seth that it seems we have our work cut out for us here." he called up to her.

Ai took her son's hand with a smile, but her eyes were hard, she looked at the gaggle of weyrlings, then at M'onk. "Yes. We certainly do." her expression softened, "A'vin, you needn't help your old mother. You should be arranging your quarters and setting up your interviews." And investigating... that. she thought, looking back at the weyrlings. Pink. That was just... She shuddered internally. "Although I would like to accompany you on some of your interviews." yes. and see just what the hell was happening here. "And your, ah, other tasks" the investigation. She was no old biddy, retired or not, to be coddled. She would help the watch. Zamanateth gave her a silent cheer. Thats right. Don't let your stupid runt of a son push you around. She would have loved him even if he had impressd Green, and been proud of him to boot. She cared more about color than Zamanateth did (which wasn't hard), but in the end its what you did that counted, and she was proud of her son, bronzerider or no.
commented Ai with a smile. She got a snort in reply. "If possible, I'll do some interviews as well, as there are a lot of young folks and guards to speak to. Wardens as well." her smile grew slightly impish. Wouldn't want you young bucks to have all the fun except with Zam it came out more like a '******** yes'.
Zamanateth turned to Seth and grinned toothily. she said with a smirking tone. No polite and sleek linguist was Zamanateth, though she was sleek in body. she quinted at the opal hatchling, She turned back to the bronze, Ai did not agree as her feet touched the ground. Not at all.

A'vin smiled. Some things about his mother never changed, however that was exactly how he liked it. "Old is never a word I would use to describe you mother." she was ageless, and that was how he saw her. Never old. "And yes yes, I will be doing all that shortly. I thought it best to get your take on things and make sure you are settled in right before Seth and I do our own settling in. Plus I wanted to get a closer look at the weyrlings." he said with a nod of his head as he looked over at the weyrlings again and then back to his mother. He took her arm and tucked it in his.
A'vin was taller then her, then again he was taller then most, and as he walked he gave everyone a look that they would have to go through him to get to her, especially M'onk. He knew that the man's dragon was the sire to his own, a fact that he considered amusing if nothing more. He wasn't sure that Seth would remember, or care for that matter. He had his mother to bother and he needed little more.
When she said she would like to accompany him A'vin nodded. "Of course mother, two minds are better then one." he didn't mind his mother doing things with him, the way he saw it if it would help the whole investigation move along it was a good thing. "Have you ever seen anything like them? Or have you ever heard of a Blue mating with a Gold?" might as well ask. She was older then him and therefor would possibly know more about these things right off the bat.
As Zamanateth spoke to him he looked over the hatchings, yes what was that color? Personally the pink was what was the oddest of them all to him. No dragon should be pink. Part of him was jealous, his mother seemed to like them a lot, but then the "sensible" part of him realized that he was from her own clutch, so she would love no other more then he. 'None of my brother and sisters have ever been so... Oddly colored.' he commented although he was more thinking to himself then anything else. 'What do you think cased this chaos mother? Maybe it is this place. Maybe something in the water, or the heardbeast?' he mused. He needed to find out. He didn't want his mother to have a clutch here if it meant odd hatchlings. Though he wasn't sure she would mind. He just didn't want any competition for her favorite.

Ai's eyes crinkled at the corners as he took her arm in his. Yes she had raised this one right. Personally, too. She had been busy, but parents should know their children. Human parents anyway. "Then we will go." She stroked her queen's shining skin for a moment "Of course, I'll likely leave Zamanateth behind... She might scare the little ones." though she was delighted at the thought. "No, A'vin, no I haven't." she said, "Zamanateth has never been caught by a Blue" "and I have never heard of such a thing happening. Ever." said Zamanateth, snorting, she squinted, poking at Ai's mind to remember. Oh yes. she poked out memories of Kaeylandra, she said it with delight. Oh yes! She'd heard about Kaeylandra. She remembered that she had heard she had spine. Good. and long live the queen. Peaceful was boring. Booooring. her grin was fierce, Ai sighed. "Well, then. Shall we wait, or ask where we will be staying." Settling in would be nice. So would a walk.

A'vin smiled. Yes, Zamanateth could scare most grown men, he could only imagine the terror she would put into the smaller dragons and their riders. He vaguely remembered Seth being scared of her for a small period of time. He bet that Zamanateth wished it would have lasted longer.
A'vin shook his head. "I had figured as much for Zamanateth, I couldn't see herself being caught by any blue." he said with a shake of his head. No, for although Zamanateth was something else she was a grand queen and she knew she would never allow herself to be caught by any dragon unless they were the best out of all the chasers. And no blue would ever be good enough for Zamanateth.
Good idea? No, no. That was a bad idea. She could not fly here! He did not want any strange siblings. If dragons could frown then he would be doing so. 'Please allow mine and myself to look into things first. I wonder if maybe laying these chaos dragons could have been part of what killed this Brakiheth. It is possible, let me and mine find out so you don't put yourself in danger.' Hum yes! Maybe that would deter his mother from wanting to fly at this cursed place.
"I say we ask. We don't want to be standing around here forever. Then again, we could also just start walking around. Explore this strange Weyr?" he suggested.

"I would say we ask first, then explore. That way we'll know where we're supposed to be going, and that way we will know where not to go immediately" a tooth shown in a small grin. Ai had her mischevious sides. A few of them. she commented to Zamanateth, getting a gleeful laugh in response.
Danger? Wait. She hesitated. She didn't have a middle name. Actually, the bronze probably didn't. If Zam could pre-emptively roll her eyes, she would. she said, eyes gleeful once more, Muttered Ai <...So you've got time, Sethkiddo.> It wasn't like she wanted to die, anyway.
"... or just explore. Its not as if we will be irreversably lost in this weyr" she said, as an afterthought.

"I''ll go ask." and with that A'vin went to one of the other riders whom he thought would know where they were staying. After talking for a few moments he returned to his mother. "Okay I know where we have to go, my weyr is close to yours actually. Care to lead the way for our exploration for now?" he said with a smile. He had made sure that his weyr was close to his mothers, though he knew he didn't have to say that. She would know. Mothers had that gift.
'.... Do I have a middle name?' Seth asked excitedly. He stole a look from his mother to his rider and back to her. Maybe he had a middle name that he didn't remember. But wait! A middle name meant that he had a last name! Why was he missing two parts of his name all these years! How did his never tell him about this whole middle and last name business... It didn't matter though, if he had more names then his mother would surely know what they were.
He was happy she was not proddy, that gave him to time to try and scare away all the unfit ones who thought they could fly his mother. It also gave him time to investigate! 'Um... I don't know. I guess ask the little ones why they aren't normal?' he hadn't thought much about it really...

If he had had a middle name, it would be pain-in-the-a**. Hahaha! Panith Thee a**. Perfect dragon-ish name. Right there. Zamanateth snickered. Ohhh Faranth, she could tell him he HAD a middle name and he would believe her. That was Seth. Simpering idiot. Rider was no better. Ai had to spoil fun. Well, she supposed it would get annoying after a while for him to pester her about his name. SHe said, slightly put out, but not much,
"Hmm. Yes. We only know so much about this place. What we should do is take a tour around the prison. Starting with where the inmates are kept... there are different wards with different classes of prisoners, correct?" she pondered, "Perhaps... oh what was it... General population first?" Prisoners made up most of this twisted weyr, and to observe them was to know a great deal more than then they had. she said to Zam,
Zam gave her rider a nudge, she took flight again, heading to the quarters to make it up just right. she said a few minutes later, advised Ai, cautiously. "A'vin? Seth? Lets go." she walked briskly at a pace hard to believe for someone her age.

Seth was sad. He had been excited about having a middle name... Plus while he was trying to get this whole joke thing, A'vin was still trying to teach him after all these turns, it seemed he still didn't understand. 'Oh... Okay. They sound silly anyways.' he commented, though the slight sadness in his voice was evident.
A'vin nodded. "General population sounds good to me." and if he had his way that was as far as his mother would ever go. Although he knew she could handle the other parts, he didn't really want her to. It was unnecessary.
He was sad to hear that his mother would not be coming. But she said he was imposing! See he knew she really did love and approve of him. There was his proof. 'Okay mother, if you need anything let me know. We will be at your side as soon as we can!' he watched her take off, partiacally wishing that he too had been dismissed to go with her. But no! He had a better task! He would watch his and hers to make sure they were safe. See there it was again, she trusted him.
A'vin nodded and they began to walk, the large bronze following after them. "Zamanateth seems to be taking this place very well." he said with a smile. "Though I do hope she waits a while till she is proddy. I hope this place wasn't what killed the last goldrider, but I rather be sure before it effects her also.". As much as he knew Zamanateth made fun of him he could never see his mother without her. If she lost Zamanateth... Well he wasn't sure what either she or he would do.

<... What, you actually want one?> Zamanateth knew she really should have expected that. Yeah sure. She'd let him know. After she'd called the whers. She ******** loved whers. <.... do a good job of the whole imposing thing and maybe I'll give you one.> she said, trying not to snicker, She couldn't help snickering a bit. there was no disapproval in the tone. Zam sent a fanged smile to her rider.
"Being without a dragon is what killed the last goldrider." corrected Ai, quietly, somberly.
"And yes. She does seem to be happy here. I did worry she would not like a place so far away from our home weyr..." and I would have to deal with her 'whiny'...
"As for her dragon, even if it was this place or the minds and souls that go with it that killed her, I doubt that that will effect My Zamanateth in the same way. Things like that... often don't." there was a note of chagrin in there. "I'll be making sure she's healthy, but we will have to see." She scanned the grounds around her. Her new home. "I wonder.." She said, changing the subject, "How many of these 'criminals' simply had no choice..." it was an old issue, one that had long bothered her. Bad situations bred bad behavior. Would this... locking them away like this... help? She had a prime seat to it now.
