Dreidyn's Hyacinth1000/1000 vs. Arissa's Kishin1000/1000 Quote: You will make an introductory post and roll a 100-sided dice during your introductory post. This post is basically you walking onto the stage once more with your Pokemon in a Pokeball or next to you. Then your opponent will do likewise, also rolling a 100-sided dice. Person with the highest roll goes first. HP/Attack bonuses count if your Pokemon has them. Pokemon that cannot evolve any further have 1000 HP. Pokemon that can evolve one more time have 900 HP. Pokemon that can evolve two more times have 800 HP. Now for every attack post, you roll one 6-sided dice which will let your opponent know how to react to your post. 1 = your attack misses, 2-5 = your attack hits for 100 damage, 6 = your attack hits for 200 damage. Even stuff that normally does not do damage - such as growl - will do a kind of unseen damage in that it will hurt your opponent's dignity or whatnot. Super effective/resistance/immunity/whatever do not count. Although please don't say you punch a Ghost Pokemon in the face. That's just not elegant - try to make all attacks seem reasonable and keep beauty/grace/cuteness/etc in mind. Also try to humiliate your opponent if possible - you are making your own Pokemon look good and your opponent's Pokemon look bad! At the end of every post, please include your Pokemon's HP. After 5 posts from both sides (10 posts in total not including the intro posts), time will be called and the battle will end regardless of if a Pokemon has fainted or not. You will be scored on both how much damage you have done, your general performance throughout the battle (so RP your best!), and your creativity throughout the battle. A response post from each side after the 10 damage posts in response to a KO or finished time is allowed to bring the battle to a culmination. Judges will post shortly after to let you know who won. If you do not make a post within 24 hours (subjected to change) of your opponent's last post, you are automatically disqualified and your opponent wins the battle. We will then alert you of your next battle.

Arissa had been slightly less nervous as she waited backstage for the results of the first battle round. She'd though Kishin had done very well, she was fairly confident in the performance. Only fairly, because she couldn't be sure what the judges would think. Beauty was in the eye of the beholder, after all. But again her worries were proven unfounded as the scores went up and she found that Kishin again had the best overall score. Her score was very close to the pokemon she would be up against in the final round, though. They would have to try even harder in this last chance to show the judges just what they could do.
Kishin was as calm as ever, still cuddling her plush Torchic, but Arissa had to take a moment to make tiny adjustments to her hair and clothing in order to settle herself for this last round. Then she smiled as she headed out onto the battlefield, Kishin by her side. The crowd was cheering and clapping as the competitors made their way to the trainer box. She was sure the audience had become excited by the previous rounds, and were eager to see what the top coordinators and their pokemon could do. The enthusiasm from the crowd both eager to show them the kind of excitement they were looking forward to, and a bit nervous that she wouldn't meet their expectations. But she didn't let that show, just smiled and waved at the audience. Even Kishin waved one wing at them, the other still holding tight to her plush chick.
Upon reaching the trainer box, Kishin again took out her Torchic and held it out to Arissa with a stern chirp, so Arissa gently took it and cradled it like a real baby. Then Kishin stepped out towards the center to greet her opponent.

Dreidyn was surprised yet delighted to see that she and Hyacinth would be moving onto the final round. She had never gotten this far before and whatever the outcome of the battle, it was sure to be awesome! But she was also filled with dread as not only her opponent was a finalist before, she was also the winner of the last contest! The prospect of facing her and her Archeops was daunting and her hands were trembling in fear as she stepped out into the light. But the loud cheers from the audience and the sight of the sun drenched stage that Hyacinth and Kishin would be preforming on washed her anxiety away. They were going to do their best no matter what!
Hyacinth soared over the field, greeting the opposing Archeops with a slight nod. The Volcarona always seemed unflappable in these tense situations and Dreidyn wished that she could appear the same.

Kishin smiled at her opponent as she came out. <"Hello there! Well, aren't you lovely,"> she said to the Volcarona with wings like stained glass. <"Let's have some fun and show everyone the best show they've ever seen, shall we?">
When they got the signal to start, Arissa decided to take the initiative. "Kishin, tailwind and Double team. Whirlwind style," the coordinator said softly. It was an opening move they'd planned beforehand.
Kishin began to run with her wings outstretched and her head tucked low so it was almost parallel with the ground, inscribing a wide circle around the edge of the battlefield. After a few moments she rose into the air with slow wingbeats, leaving the ground like an airplane taking off. She continued to circle, rising through the air until she was about level with the top of Hyacinth's wings. Then a breeze began to pick up, the Tailwind pushing Kishin along so that she began to pick up speed while her wings continued the same slow wingbeats. Faster and faster she circled, until she began to blur and leave afterimages. The wind was so strong that it was almost a physical presence, a circular wall of air that followed Kishin's flight path.
Then she began to dip down and rise up in flight, so that her path inscribed a wave pattern. A couple of the afterimages behind her began to dip lower or rise higher, their variations becoming more pronounced until there were clearly three Kishins flying through the air, one below and one above the original. Then more afterimages began to differentiate their path until there were six Kishins circling the stage. Then more, though with all the pokemon weaving as they were, it soon became hard to keep an accurate count. All that was clear was that there was a great many Archeopes circling the stage, forming a wall of wind and pokemon that encircled the whole stage and kept rising. And was the circle beginning to tighten?

Hyacinth didn't bother to move away when the Archeops flew towards her but in hindsight it would've been better if she did. As Kishin generated a Tailwind to boost her speed enough to create a blustery wall, the Volcarona struggled to remain upright. And then it became even more difficult to stay strong in this windy environment when her opponent then duplicated herself. Brown and purple shapes darted all around her and she couldn't keep her eyes on all of them without sacrificing the frantic flapping that was stabilizing her. The whole sight was rather dizzying and she had to resort to closing her eyes so she would save herself a headache so early in the fight.
Dreidyn was in awe at the combo move that Kishin and Arissa managed to pull off, but it was no time to gawk at her enemy's display. Her Pokemon was in trouble and she needed to think of a way to counter the move, and fast.
"Scatter the ashes! Use Fire Spin!" She shouted out. Hyacinth, with her eyes still closed, swung her wings and casted scales lit on fire into the wind. Another swing produced more embers, and although she couldn't see it, some of the bits of fire struck the copies of Kishin that burst into flames upon contact. From the outside of the whirlwind, it looked like sparks of light were popping up and then fading back into the turbulence.
But that wasn't the end of her attack. Now with her eyes fully opened, she stretched a leg outward so that the scattered flames grew bigger and merged together to form a ribbon of fire. Like a puppet master, she guided the blaze around and around her, eliminating the rest of the Double Teams and generating hot air to counter the wind that the Archeops kicked up. The tornado that was once threatening to blow her to bits was now a fiery vortex that she could control. The end of the fire ribbon veered out of the twister that was wrapped around Hyacinth and launched itself at the last Archeops flying, bringing with it the rest of the Fire Spin attack.

Arissa's eyes grew wide as the Volcarona's flames wiped out all the Double Team copies, then turned the tornado of wind into one of fire. As it started to head for Kishin, Arissa called out, "Tailwind, counter with a waterspout!"
Kishin had been battered by the scattered embers just like her copies, but she was made of tougher stuff than they and was not out yet. She'd continued to circle the Volcarona to conceal her location until the last of the copies was obliterated. Then she pulled away to put some distance between them, watching the Fire Spin warily. When she heard her trailer's call, she flew for the center of the stage and its openings to the water. She could not head straight there of course, since the fire tornado was heading right for her. So she flew straight at the column of fire as if planning to crash into it, determination written clear on her face. At the last moment, she swerved to one side so that she missed it by bare inches, passing close enough that some of her feathers were visibly singed. But thanks to her daredevil move she was past it, and she wagered that, like a large, lumbering beast, it would not be able to turn quickly to follow her. That gave her time to prepare her counter attack. A burst of wind at her back carried her swiftly toward the center stage.
She swiftly started flying in tight circles above it, generating another spiraling rush of air. But like in her solo performance, this time the air soon picked up the water from the lake and drew it up through the length of the whirlwind. When the water had risen through most if its height, Kishin swerved out of her spiral to hover outside the waterspout, putting it between herself the the approaching Fire Spin. She continued to fuel the air with strong flaps of her wings, keeping a watchful eye on the opposing tornado. When she judged it was getting too close, she changed the angle of her wings so that instead of fueling the waterspout, she was pushing it forward.
Slowly it began to edge away from the openings in the stage, picking up speed as Kishin followed along behind it, pushing it on and aiming it at the whirling fire. Then the two tornadoes crashed with violent whosh as heated, steaming air flew out in all directions. Like a wall of lava hitting the sea, gouts of steam soon filled the air, creating a zone of low-lying clouds. Yet Kishin made sure to make the rotation of the waterspout spin in the opposite direction of the Fire Spin, so that the force of the opposing air mostly canceled each other out, letting the much-weakened fire dissipate and the rest of the water fall harmlessly to the ground. Kishin had let the rush of hot air carry her away from the impact, and now glided through the thickest of the clouds, using them to conceal her location.

Hyacinth recognize what Kishin was brewing long before she conjured the water spout, as she pulled off a similar trick in her appeal. She was ready to avoid the twister since any attack involving water would be especially unpleasant for fire types, but to her surprise the Archeops did not direct it at her. Instead, it was pushed towards her Fire Spin attack, which was still going strong until the water spout collided into it. The impact between the two opposing forces took Hyacinth for a spin, as well as created hot and wet steam that stuck to her wings and made it harder for her to fly. She also had created steam to hide herself in her appeal, but she dove into the water shortly after that and didn't have to deal with water droplets bogging her down. And she couldn't repeat the same tactic when she had no clue where her target was...
Dreidyn could tell that Hyacinth didn't have the foggiest idea of what to do in the fog. She couldn't even see the Archeops herself, although she was certain that she was still in there. She knew that her Pokemon had a way to find her however. All they had to do was use one of her moves in a slightly different manner...
"Find her with Psychic!" She called out. Immediately after her command, the Volcarona's eyes began to glow a bright violet, changing the mist around her into the same color. The purple mist formed tendrils that branched out in all directions, the ends shifting from hands to arrows to canine heads to whatever shape that would indicate their reformed purpose. Instead of concealing Kishin from Hyacinth, the steam that Hyacinth controlled would seek out and reveal her.
Eventually one of the tendril found the Archeops by flying into her. It didn't do much other than dissipate, but now Hyacinth knew where she was located. She dashed towards where the tendril had felt Kishin, accumulating violet mist around her body that swirled in a stormy fashion. As soon as the brown and purple figure came into view, she unleashed an invisible force upon her with a flap of her wing. A great wind, augmented by a psychic push, rammed into Kishin, attempting to throw her out of the steam clouds that hid her.

Kishin had pulled farther away when the fog turned purple and began growing tendrils. As they reached out to find her, she tried to judge their path and weave through them so she could avoid detection. For those of the spectators who could see her in the far edges of the clouds, her flight was quite acrobatic. She didn't just move aside to dodge them; she did somersaults, barrel rolls, loop-the-loops, stalls, and even flew backward one or twice. But this last trick eventually cost her, since she couldn't look behind her as she flew. She hardly noticed the tendril she backwinged into, since it was just one bit of mist in a field full of it.
She did notice when the Volcarona wreathed in purple fog flew at her. She tried to dive into the thick of the mist, but an unexpectedly strong push of wind and force shoved her out. She turned the forced movement into a midair backflip before flaring her wings to bring herself to a halt. Still, she was clearly visible outside of the mist now.
That didn't mean she had to stay there, though. There was still plenty of mist in the air, and Arissa decided they could still work with it. "Kishin, light it up with Double Team and Dragon Pulse," she instructed.
Kishin dove for the thickest cloud she could see, beginning to gather energy as she moved. As soon as she entered, she released a quick Dragon Pulse which lit up the cloud in a burst gold light. She shot right through the cloud without stopping, but when she emerged there were two Kishins flying side by side. Each headed into a new cloud, illuminated it briefly before emerging with a twin. Each Archeops flew in a different direction, lighting up clouds all over the field as they produced yet another duplicate.
Kishin soon stopped making more copies, but they all never stopped moving. The many pokemon bounced from cloud to cloud like crazed pinballs, lighting them up as they passed through. She varied the strength of the pulses so that some flashed brighter, some dimmer, and sometimes two Archeopses flew into a cloud at once to make it extra bright. Some of them flew by Hyacinth in rapid succession, releasing quick pulses as they passed, lighting up the purple mist around her in a series of brilliant bursts.

"Hyacinth! Light Screen!" There was no way that she would be able to dodge all of those Dragon Pulses so Dreidyn could only command her Pokemon to guard against them. The Volcarona, still inside the cloud, threw up barriers with a flick of a leg to negate the attacks. She surrounded herself with these shields of light and they flickered with energy each time a pulse struck them. But her reflexes were not quick enough to catch one Dragon Pulse that shocked her and threw her off balance. She had to will herself to keep the Light Screens up and floating around her, or else she wasn't going to suffer from just one nasty blast.
The situation seemed fairly hopeless, however. Kishin's many copies of herself kept on diving in and out of the cloud and bombarding the Volcarona to bits. Every time an Archeops swooped in and flapped away some of the fog with its wing, Dreidyn could catch a glimpse of what was going on deep inside, where Hyacinth was. And she noticed that instead of reflecting the Dragon pulses, the Light Screens absorbed them and changed from the usual deep pink to a golden hue. It wasn't just Kishin's attacks that were lighting up the clouds, but also the cackling energy that Hyacinth's shields were giving off. Whether this was accidental or intentional, she could definitely use this to their advantage.
"Now, use Gust!" Dreidyn shouted. Still covering herself with the Light Screen, Hyacinth stirred her wings into a frenzy and danced in a circle to create a powerful whirlwind at the center of the stage. She sucked in the Dragon Pulses, the duplicated Kishins, the remains of the cloud, even her energy-imbued screens. Especially the energy-imbued screens. When they were battered and thrown about by the winds, they absorbed the kinetic energy and became increasingly unstable as evident by their violent shaking.
When Hyacinth ended the twister with winds that ran counter to it, everything got shot out of the Gust like a missile towards the ceiling. The super charged Light screen couldn't handle the pressure anymore and exploded over the arena in a spectacular gold and purple fashion. Sparkles fell from the makeshift fireworks and covered the prismatic wings of the Volcarona, who was able to shine once more now that the cloud was gone. She was careful to avoid the shimmering, knife-like pieces of her Light Screen however, as those also rained down to inflict some harm on wherever the Archeops may be.

When Kishin noticed that everything was being sucked towards the Volcarona, she halted her attack and turned to fly away from the other pokemon. She had to make quite an effort to do so, since the wind was very strong indeed, and pulled in many of her copies. Some of them managed to escape the wind with her, and all were clearly visible as the last of the steam clouds were sucked out of the air. Kishin was just deciding she was safe from the wind when it exploded in all directions, sending her and her copies cartwheeling dizzily through the air. Almost immediately afterward the Light Screen exploded, and before she was fully steady again she was busy trying to dodge the shards. Off-balance as she was, she could not evade them all, and was slashed by a couple of the sharp fragments. A few of her copies were also struck, each bursting in a shower of gold and purple sparks, adding to the appearance of fireworks in the sky. Still, when the skies began to grow calmer there were still a few more Kishins hovering in the air with her.
Arissa watched Hyacinth's performance, both admiring the strength of the wind she conjured and worried what it might do to her pokemon. This was certainly a battle full of large-scale, almost atmospheric attacks. She kind of didn't want Kishin to get close to the Volcarona, so she'd have time to dodge whatever came next. Well, one attack was certain to keep her at a distance. "Kishin, Round," she called. She hadn't the foggiest idea how Kishin could use that creatively at the moment, but she trusted her pokemon to come up with something.
At Arissa's command, the Kishins flew up to hover in a wide circle with the Volcarona in the center far below. With them all stationary, it could be seen that there were four total left. One of them sang out a single loud, clear note, and continued to hold it. The next Kishin sang out a second note, one that was a bit higher in pitch but harmonized with the first, and also held it. The third and final Kishins each added their notes and held them in turn, each higher than the previous one. They held the chord for a moment, paused for a beat, then all sang out their notes in unison.
They began to sway from side to side in the air as one started singing a deep, repeating series of three notes that served to keep the beat. A second began singing a melody, while the Kishins added a spin to their swaying flight. A third chimed in with a harmony, and they added a flick of the wings each time they completed a spin. The last Kishin capped the song with a descant, a series of high, chiming notes that embroidered on the song, finishing with a flourish of the tail to match the wing flicks.
She wasn't done yet, though. One by one they peeled off to dive down, towards the ground, their song changing to a declining scale of notes as they descended. Just before hitting the ground, the lead Kishin pulled up with a flourishing trill of song, each Kishin copying the movement and trill in turn. They began a musical rendition of Follow the Leader, with the lead performing some stunt of flight accompanied by a trick of song, with each follower repeating both. They spiraled up in a lose corkscrew while voicing a bright burble. They halted so sharply in mid-flight that they flipped head-over-heels, while whistling sharply. They flew upside down for a few wingbeats, voicing a drunken-sounding warble. They made a point to be facing in the direction of the Volcarona as often as possible, in order to bombard her with their continued, varying song.

Dreidyn wasn't sure how sound was supposed to hurt her Volcarona but it was plain to see that Hyacinth was bothered by the musical bombardment. She fluttered around in little motions, trying to avoid the Round, but the Archeops's song met her every move. Even though Kishin wasn't actively replicating herself with Double Team, there were still enough copies of her to amplify the power of this attack. It was obvious that they had to get rid of the flying backup singers, although that was a task difficult to accomplish when her Pokemon was tormented by the haunting music.
"Use Light Screen!" She really had no idea how to counter sound itself but they had to try something. Dreidyn hoped that she shouted loud enough to be heard over the echoing melodies, and to her delight Hyacinth responded by casting a shimmering wall. It was used to block a cry from one of the Archeops and she was able to react quickly enough to create another screen that dampened the Round from another. But no matter how many barriers she created, the song continued to ring in the air around her and she wavered in her flight, as if the warbling was draining her of life.
Then, as she moved her many shields around herself, an idea struck. Waving her legs in a smooth yet hasty manner, she reformed one of the screens into a pair of earmuffs that she slid over her ears. Instantly, the barrage of Rounds was reduced to a hum and she could actually hear herself thinking again. Dreidyn tried to contain her excitement for her Pokemon's cleverness, but ended up bursting into smile as the improvised move sparked another idea.
"Hyacinth! Go with the music!" She wasn't certain if she could hear her command but surely she would be able to understand her wild hand gestures. Although Kishin's song was just noise in the background, the Volcarona could still pick up the varying vibrations with her sensitive wings. Letting the rhythm take control of her motions, she bobbed up and down to the beat of the song as she touched the remaining Light Screens that floated around her. They transformed into music notes that danced to the music alongside their creator, and soon the Volcarona was surrounded with little glowing, swinging balls of solid light. Not only did they hover around her in a ring, but they occasionally danced away from Hyacinth whenever a Round blasted them away. For their size and seemingly delicate features, they were surprisingly sturdy and did nothing more but ride the soundwaves whenever attacked. Soon the music notes were scattered throughout the stage, swimming in the air like tadpoles that shook their tails to the rhythm of the song.
Hyacinth couldn't entertain the audience with the notes forever though. And no matter how fun this was, she still had yet to do any damage to Kishin. Reaching out a leg to command several music notes in front of her, they formed a line that sped towards the nearest Archeops and spun around her wings, tail, head, anything to impede her flight. As they did their best to confuse the foe, their purple light intensified due to the increased energy that Hyacinth was pouring into them. The other notes followed suite and swarmed around the remaining Archeops copies. What were once seemingly benevolent manifestations of the music in the air were now dazzling orbs that danced around the Kishin clones in a spectacular display of light.

Kishin initially ignored the floating music notes, since they did little to effect her, and just kept flying and singing. But when they started swarming around her and fouling her wings, she had to pay attention to them. She also had to stop singing to focus on her flying, or else she might be knocked from the sky, or half-blinded by the increasingly bright lights. They kept with her no matter how she flew, so she tried harder to get rid of them. The four Kishins peeled off in different directions and tried to shake the things off any way they could; batting them away with swats of wings or tail, turning or diving sharply, or spinning in every direction. The glowing motes followed along through ever move, sometimes trailing behind slightly, but always catching up quickly.
Arissa watched it all, considering. If Kishin couldn't fly free of the glowing notes, she'd have to get rid of them some other way. Destroying them seemed best, though she noticed that they had absorbed the energy from the song. But previous attacks had shown they couldn't absorb energy forever, and perhaps they could use that. "Kishin, Dragon Pulse. Overload them," she said.
Kishin understood what she meant, though she continued flying evasively for a moment as she considered the best way to carry out the instruction. Each Kishin briefly gathered energy, then one after another they released a quick pulse that further lit up the notes surrounding them. Kishin tried to use that to gauge how much energy they could absorb from each pulse as two Kishins turned and flew straight at each other. The two seemed on course to fly into each other, but at the last moment they released a quick pulse as they sharply turned away from each other. The sudden turn left the notes drifting in her wake for just a moment, allowing the perfectly timed burst of light to hit just the notes, with no Archeops in the way. The notes blazed brighter as they caught up with their pokemon again. The other two Archeopses did the same, flying at each other and spinning away abruptly so they could fire at just the notes.
They continued to fly around the stage, weaving their flight paths together with sharp turns and spins as they pumped the notes full of light. Sometimes they fired at each other's notes, sometimes they released a pulse around themselves when alone so that their own notes grew brighter. The notes grew so bright that they began to leave streaky afterimages in the sight of anyone who watched them. Seeing this, the Kishins, with eyes narrowed to slits against the light, began an even more intricate flight that inscribed a lacy pattern of curls and arcs in the air.
When Kishin figured the notes were holding as much energy as she could safely pump into them, judging by the fact that they were starting to vibrate, the Archeopses began to spiral down towards the ground. They ended up surrounding Hyacinth, each marking the point of a wide square around her. Once they were just a foot or so above the ground, then turned and raced toward the Volcarona, gathering energy as they went. They flew straight at her, growing faster and brighter as they approached. Then like in their earlier flight they sharply turned upward just before impact, releasing all their energy as they did so in one massive burst of light. But unlike the previous flight, this time the notes all exploded into little balls of purple sparkles from the overload of energy. The copies also couldn't handle the massive pulse and burst as well, tossing a fountain of golden lights high in the air. The real Kishin rode the fountain, allowing herself to tumble upward in a tight ball as it propelled her straight up. As she ran out of momentum she uncurled with a flourish to hover in place, looking down at the Volcarona beneath her.

Hyacinth tried her best to dodge the incoming music notes but there were just too many of them and there wasn't enough time to dodge them all. She veered around one burst of light, only for another to blow up right behind her and throw her right into another and another. She was being taken on an uncontrollable and evidently painful ride as a high-pitched scream could be heard over the din of the explosions. After the glittering ordeal was done and over with, the edges of her wings and fur were noticeably singed from the ordeal. And Kishin was still soaring above the Volcarona, untouchable as ever. At least they had gotten rid of the Double Teams, although it wasn't because of their own doing.
Dreidyn bit her lip as she watched the Archeop use their attack against them, and in a devastating way. This was the last round, so Hyacinth wasn't in danger of being knocked out, but the current situation wasn't in their favor either. They had to get in one last good attack if they wanted any hope of triumphing over Kishin and Arissa. The question was, what could they do to not just win the match, but also win over the audience?
Well, they should take it one step at a time for now. "Hyacinth, build up a nice Fire Spin for our last move!" Dreidyn commanded.
The large moth wearily nodded and started fluttering her wings rapidly. But instead of rising up into the air, she was instead slowly descending until she was only a foot or so off the ground. It looked like maybe she was tired out from the critical hit that Kishin had landed on her. As she flapped away, only a few small embers formed beneath her and swirled about lazily in the breeze. The audience looked on curiously, as surely this weak performance was not what Dreidyn and Hyacinth had in mind.
And it was a good thing that the onlookers were watching so intently, as a most remarkable transformation started to take place. The charred bits of her wings peeled off from the vigorous activities, lighting themselves on fire once they were fully shed. They drifted alongside the flames that already gathered in the wind, and as more scales joined them, they pieced together a great circular blaze underneath Hyacinth. Her wings now shone like red-hot coals due to the burnt scales that she molted away and the flames she had kindled only added to her fiery complexion.
Not long after she rejuvenated her wings, she gave them a large flap and the compressed Fire Spin shot her into the air with incredible speed. Like a rocket shooting in the sky, fire still trailed behind her in a spiraling manner as she soared towards Kishin. Then past her. Hyacinth angled her wings so that the Fire Spin forced her downwards. She still missed the Archeops, but another repositioning of her wings sent her right around. Each time she flew past Kishin, it was a near miss, which was lucky for the prehistoric Pokemon. The blazing trail that the Volcarona left would've scorched her if it so much touched her.
As she whirled about in tight aerial patterns around Kishin, it became clear that the lack of direct contact was intentional. The Fire Spin that followed Hyacinth's flight created gorgeous patterns in the sky but dangerous obstacles for the Archeops. Being a flying Pokemon herself, she knew the path that she would take if she had to navigate through the fiery maze. So when she broke off the flaming vortex behind her, Hyacinth quickly whipped up a Light Screen and flew towards the exit she anticipated Kishin would arrive at in three... two... one... As soon as she saw her opponent emerging, she charged at her with her shield in between them for extra power.
The Light Screen was not part of Dreidyn's idea, but the trainer figured that it was to make up for the embarrassing failure with the exploding music notes.
