Appearance Description: Aed is rather tall and while he may be of the slimmer sort, he body is trim with muscular tone that his clothing hides quite well. His eyes are similar to cobalt, seeming to glow if one looks at them directly. His skin overall is slightly tannish with no blemishes whatsoever. The only scar that he is lies on his right cheek from training at a young age from his grandfather. Either he can be seen in a short sleeve shirt and black pants, reminiscent of a ninja's of sorts, usually when he's training or simply doing garden work or smithing. But when on work or in his office, Aed wears his usual grey or black undershirt underneath his traditional black and red trench coat that he likes much. But overall, Aed has the appearance of a man who can easily blend in with the shadows, being thin and generally observant, he can easily fade into a crowd.

Character Strengths: Aed is superbly intelligent, holding the capabilities of higher intellect in which during combat, he can configure ways to move his troops and dodge incoming attacks. Besides intelligence, Aed has a generally cool personality, and generally does not lose his temper to another's antagonistic actions. He keeps calm and talks smoothly, unless under the stress of battle or in a Captain's Meeting, where arguing is consistent. He is intent upon his work and does it without hesitation...for the most part. But while others think of him lacking any basic morality when it comes to his work, Aed has deep feelings towards friends and is honestly a cheery fellow when one gets to know him. He is also quite skilled in persuasion, not one to push aside word and reason over combat if possible.

Personality: Aed is generally calm and relaxed, taking most, if not all situations in stride. He likes to stay at home when not at working, simply performing what he likes to do, or reading and performing paperwork with his cat sitting on the right arm of his chair. Generally, Aed is very tolerant towards other individuals, taking them calmly and if they are close, being more comfortable and joking with others. Usually though, in pretext to this, he generally tries to see what kind of individuals people are. Aed, while being in the prime of his youth, sometimes carries the persona of an old man. He can either be very happy or as grumpy as a disgruntled old man, usually a hit and miss. He might be calm but his attitude generally shifts on the day. During his work though, his own values, which involve no killing of children or those who might be innocent, get in the way if the situations do come up. And there are the times, where Aed simply desires to flip out on certain individuals but he keeps it inside, not desiring to make an a** out of himself like most people, which really does not allow for relationships to commit, no matter how much he desires to be in one. Yet any other time, when he can be found relaxing with a drink, painting, or gardening, he is generally friendly to those he knows and is close to. Children always come to listen to fantastic tales and ghost stories, which Aed enjoys sharing. And like an old man, he is very stubborn, not willing to back down to others challenges but also not willing to do things he has no desire for. Yet even still, Aed is very humble and loyal, with a firm sense of justice that can't be shaken with his great will.

Background: Aed was born to Faen Nipal and Raena Vicaria. Raena died upon childbirth and Faen died while on Mission, as he was the Division One Lieutenant, his Grandparents keeping their grandson, whom they named Aed Faen Vicaria, his grandparents being his mother's parents until he was around four, , his Grandfather being an old ex-Division Two Captain by the name of Baelus Vicaria while his grandmother, Aena Vicaria was a Member of Division One, a Third Seat.. Baeulus, like what his grandson but to a lesser extent, was a Shadow user but not a shadow lightning user like Aed. Around the age of ten, Aed began his training with his Grandfather. The training was intense, including both his grandparents working their grandson hard, whom they found to be quite the prodigy. With that, they worked him even harder, drilling him and teaching him in everything that they knew. Baeulus even reached out to the ex-Captain of Division Eleven, Yojimbo Muramasa, who is considered a Master of the Blade. Aed simply absorbed the information like a sponge, growing constantly while becoming accepted into the Shinigami Academy around the age of twenty. He became top of his class, working harder than anyone else within the Academy, shocking his teachers at his power and skill. His name became well known be the Head Captain at the time, himself showing no sign of halting in growth. As soon as he graduated, Ea became a part of Division One, building up to Lieutenant of Division One. But upon his graduation, Aed and Yojimbo met, constructing Aed's Zanpakutos that night, a long and grueling process which ended with Yojimbo passing away, a bit of his spirit becoming part of Aed's three Zanpakutos. But his grandfather desired to continue testing his student, Aed eventually proving himself to be far beyond his grandfather and any other in the Sereiteri. He was approached by Division Zero, the Royal Guard who sought them to join their ranks, to which he did almost haphazardly. At the age of five hundred, he became a leading member in the Division, becoming a Captain at eight hundred. He was the dominating force in the Division. But the wear and tear as well as the continuing pressure of the job really began to bother him, and as soon as Soifon stepped down from her position do to her injuries gained over her tenure, Aed stepped down as Captain of Division Zero, entering once more into the public eye at the age of 1155. Most people don't know him, excluding some Captains like the Head Captain of course but still Aed remains out of the public eye usually...living his life quietly.

Spiritual Pressure: Aed's Spiritual Pressure is immense, having trained with the Head Captain as he was in Division One, only the Head Captain and his Grandfather know about the heights of Aed's spiritual ability to which he has only gone to on three occasions. Two of those occasions were in training, with the ex-Head Captain and of course, his Grandfather. The other occasion was in a fight with a large horde of Hollow, having to take down all of them quickly to protect the rest of his squad. Even when he begins to draw upon his spiritual pressure, it spirals in a pyre of black before fading from existence, though people can certainly feel it when he is in their presence. The ex-Head Captain desired to place a limiter on Aed but after working with Aed for so long, he knew that the man's self control was greater than he could even begin to ponder, thus he has no limiter and it generally throws opponents off who fight him.
Swordsmanship/Accuracy/Other: Aed's Swordsmanship is nigh master. He has trained it over a numerous number of years, his accuracy with his swordsmanship and his other weaponry, consistently training. However, he doesn't stop with weapons. He continually trains in hand to hand combat with his Squad, always engages in exercises to allow his members to consistently be in shape and at their very best. A stickler for perfection, he makes the drills even difficult for himself to be pushed and not limit himself with just his Zanpakuto.
Special Training: Aed has trained with the ex-Head Captain, his grandfather: who was a Second Division Captain, and Yojimbo, a Weapons Master. His prowess is astounding but generally he keeps these things to himself, most individuals in the Sereiteri not knowing his abilities.

Zanpakuto Spirit: Yojimbo Muramasa: The greatest swordsman to ever exist and the ex-Master of Aed, literally. He helped forge Aed's blades before literally becoming part of his Zanpakuto spirit. Yojimbo's Spirit World is a large dark area lit by a full moon. In the middle of the area lies a traditional Japanese Dojo. Inside is a well lit room with the Kanji for Shadow spread across the floor. Along the walls lie numerous weapons; Zanpakutos, Chakrams, spears, Halberds, you name it. The sky is always littered with myriad of stars and shows the large river that runs amongst the side of the environment. The area itself lies within a valley, surrounded by mountains and forests. Aed’s relationship between himself and Yojimbo is that of Master and Apprentice, Yojimbo having told Aed that he was an equal but Aed digresses, still referring to the spirit as Master and taking advice from him when given or asked upon.
Zanpakuto Sealed Description: The blades hold their normal appearance, three short swords, wakizashis if you will. Each lies within their specific sheathes. Masamune and Hokage lie in black sheathes. Yojimbo lies in a red sheathe entwined in black lace and multiple seals, allowing none to touch it or its brothers unless they are specifically allowed by Aed or Yojimbo, the Spirit. Aed has the ability to use shadow lightning, allowing him to manipulate shadows and the energy of its realm, shadow lightning, an element that overpowers lightning easily. He can use this to teleport and even defend, lightning attacks doing no damage to him at all.
Shikai: Shado Kenshi No Mezame (Awakening of the Shadow Swordsman)
Incantation: Me O Aketes (Open Your Eyes)
Appearance: All of the blades extend greatly in length, all becoming long swords in their own right. Originally, in the sealed form, they were all about two feet in length, now being extended to three in a half feet long, an inch in width of the blade. Yojimbo is slightly longer, all of the blades still holding the traditional longsword appearance, the hilts capable of being held by two hands. Yojimbo though, is slightly longer than the other two. Masamune and Hokage both have red ribbons, both about half a foot in length as well as Yojimbo, which has a single black ribbon on it. Electricity can be seen sparkling off of the blades, especially when they are drawn and used in the midst of combat.
Release Appearance: Aed's appearance does not change overall during Shikai. He simply looks the same as he did upon transformation.
Abilities: Aed’s Zanpakuto itself is a shadow lightning based weapon, an element that is of the utmost rarity. This allows Aed to be able to travel through the shadows to different realms, use the shadows as a weapon, as well as the energy that comes from the Shadow World, the shadow lightning, stronger than traditional lightning and allows Aed an immunity to lightning based attacks.
Techniques: 1. Amaterasu (Shining Over Heaven)- A single bade generates and is filled with black electricity and Reiatsu, the blade itself glistening with energy. As the blade is swung, the energy is released in a well sized wave/torrent, the strike cutting through the opponent before erupting in a rather impressive strike. The attack itself is black initially, and is extraordinarily fast, quickly coming upon opponents before they can be fully prepared to defend. The strike makes no sound however, not even the explosion discerning any kind of sound, which also gives it another characteristic. As soon as it nears the opponent, it erupts in a blinding light, because of the attacks change into a pure white form before striking and detonating.
2. Hikisaku Shado (Shadow Rend)- Aed manipulates his own or an object's shadow contorting it as a black shield that reflects the move towards the opponent like a mirror or the shadow forms in front of an ally and the shadow thrusts forward to envelop the foe.
3. Yojimbo No Mezame (Yojimbo’s Awakening)- The shadows surround Aed's feet before lashing out in a tendril form in which to strike and impale the foe or keep them at bay, Aed also being able to use this ability to a further extend, making the tendril come from a different source of shadow, allowing for a surprise strike.
Bankai
Name: Nemurerumori No Mezame (Wrath of the Shadow Swordsman)
Incantation: Ikari o nyuryoku shite kudasai (Release Your Wrath)
Appearance: The blades remain the same length but take on different appearances, their traditional characteristics changing altogether. Masamune takes on a more traditional Katana appearance, becoming a double edged sword. Hokage harnesses a serrated blade, the blade sides serrated edge holding pointed sides, which can easily tear through clothing. The real blade however lies between each separate points, the blade in between wickedly sharp that could easily cleave through the bones of another individual with minimum effort. Yojimbo is slightly larger than its two sibling blades. The other two blades are the darkest black, onyx, if you will while Yojimbo is of the purest white, its own weapon form becoming a Katana, looking similar in a way to Masamune but also having small points alongside the blade that none can see unless upon closer inspection. Yet what sets it apart from its brethren is the consistent electrical flow that seems to be coming from the blade, shadows twitching when the weapon itself is swung. The weapon itself brings the air to smell like ozone.
Release Appearance: Aed looks the same once more, his eyes however turning silver and his body becoming slightly larger. Electricity can be seen sparkling across his form and his hair waves consistently.
Abilities: Aed’s electrical invulnerability still remains but the shadows are all obedient to the whims of the Captain. Whatever he whims, the shadows move in that said fashion, allowing him to teleport from place to place rather quickly. It is well known that Aed could easily be considered the most versatile of opponents, himself allowing for speedy movements even without the shadows and able to improvise on the go. Yojimbo itself acts like a wand to the shadows. As soon as the Bankai is activated, a state known as the Shadow Storm’s Eye is activated, an almost passive ability that creates a massive thunderstorm, almost in a twister like fashion, spiraling high into the sky. Wind and lightning can be seen erupting from the walls of the twister, basically making sure no fool goes passing through to interfere in the fight...or be torn apart. But the most identifiable quality of this Bankai is the fact that as soon as it is activated, all the shadows in the area vanish, from Aed and from any individual in the immediate area, even outside of the twister wall. The shadows instead seem to fall from the sky like snowflakes, black ones at that in the form of leaves it seems. If one sees this, they should know what is going on...but however, because Aed has never activated his Bankai within the general public, it is rather unknown as to what his Bankai does.
Techniques: 1. Shi No Kage (Shadow of Death)- Aed’s shadow grows behind him, turning into a large puppet of sorts that portrays something equivalent of a demonic version of Aed. The shadow strikes at the foe as Aed does, but as Aed uses the shadows to move, the puppet goes wild and strikes at the foe ferociously, using Aed’s spare blade if he gives it to the shadow. If the shadow is beaten however, Aed cannot use this technique until three days have passed.
2. Amaterasu: Mugen Sutomu (Shining Over Heaven: Infinite Storm)- Aed’s blades glow for a second before the edges turn black as energy grows on it, expanding out around the edge like the blade has extended, just barely. Yet in actually, the energy on the blade is a focused form, evolving into a mass of needles amongst the edges of the blade, with a massive focused amount of energy condensed into one needle...and there are over thousands of needles on the blade. Individually, the needles are nigh impossible to see. When shot at a foe, the needles can be seen if shot when shot in mass, being either large or small. In small concentrations, the needles simply looking like a little black cloud rushing towards the foe, almost easily disregarded. They can be shot individually though, the only hint of an oncoming strike being the faint whistle of wind. In large amounts, the needles are a black cloud, which block out light. If the needles hit flesh however, they simply impale the foe and release an electric shock into the foe as well as a shadow toxin, which creates sluggish movement and slowed thinking, almost as if intoxicated. But if the needles strike any inanimate object, or even a blade, they explode greatly, just individually. If shot in mass, the needles explode like a carpet bomb, blanketing an area in white spread destruction. Yet like Amaterasu in Shikai the needles turn a bright white before striking, either hitting flesh or exploding.
3. Kage-Shin Difensu (Shadow God Defense)-The shadows surround Aed, with no blind spots possible in a massive dome. Aed lies within, his sword in the ground and resting. Any strike or technique used is reverted back upon the caster/user. Kido energy is enveloped in the shadows, mid to low range spells entering the shield and allowing for Aed to draw upon its energy to heal faster. Large scale kido are taken into the dome before being shot back at the caster. This move can only be used twice during each duration in Bankai form however.
4. Yojimbo no ikari (Yojimbo’s Wrath)- Shadows form around Aed, rising around his frame like a third skin. Tentacles grow out of Aed’s back, allowing him to use these as weapons as well as his blades, the tentacles seeming to strike almost subconsciously, lashing out at foes in furious combinations while Aed commences his own attacks. The tentacles can grow on Aed’s back (Slender Man esque XD) or he can use the falling Shadow leaves to strike out in a similar fashion, though this requires effort on Aed’s part and he simply sticks with the tendrils growing on his back.
