Okay so I have a question about a dream I had and I'm just wondering what other people think of it. A few months ago I was re-examining my sense of spirituality and religion, understanding that the current path I was on (Catholic) was not fulfilling. After some time, reflection and research I felt a pull towards Paganism. That day I did a Tarot reading which I found very insightful, but the big thing was the dream I had that night.

There a bunch of aspects to it but the biggest part was this set of twin girls. Very young maybe seven or so. One had dark hair the other had lighter hair, they each had this adorable little bob haircut. Anyway it was as if I had known these girls for a long time, we were very close and they trusted me. I would pick them up and carry them around, hold their hands as we travelled and I really cared about their safety and well being. When I woke up and was thinking about it I tried to remember their names. I'm pretty sure they were Melanie and Hayden. So curious I looked up what the names meant. Hayden is a German name that means heathen and Melanie is a Greek name meaning blackness or dark.

It was a very vivid dream and even now a few months later I can still remember aspects and moments of the dream. I was just wondering if anyone here has opinions or views about the dream.

The thing about dream symbolism is that every person's is different. What objects and colours mean to me will not mean the same to someone else. It's very hard to interpret dreams for other people, unless you understand their personal symbology very well.

I wish I could tell you something else. For me, if I'd had the dream it would mean nothing - I'd assume my brain was degaussing my subconscious of all the dross I pick up in daily life. Sometimes a dream is just a dream, you know? You can't go reading heavily into everything. But clearly it carried some sort of significance for you, so you're going to have to try to explore that for yourself.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you.

You're welcome. smile

If you're going to break a dream down, you can think about a few things:

- how did the dream make you feel?
- was it realistic in nature, like everyday life, or was it more symbolic, or stylized?
- what colours or objects stand out to you?
- is the location of the dream significant to you? was it familiar, or foreign?
- did you find anything specific in the dream? were you looking for something when you did, or did you just come across it?

Fantastic, thank you. I had never really thought of these questions before, but I did feel drawn to record the dream so I did. It felt important, but that may also be me placing importance on the dream.

My general response if I have a dream I think is particularly meaningful or speaks to me is to (as you did) write it down. Later on, you can come back to it and reflect on it and see if any of it makes more sense to you. If it's a dream with meaningful elements about the future, chances are it won't start to make sense until those things start to come into effect.

I don't think so - at least, not for me. I meant more symbolically, anyway wink
