That title. What was I thinking. XDD

Ignatius: *steps inside the shop, and immediately gets hit in the face with a couch pillow. tail puffed up, tosses it, on fire, at Jimi, where it gets stuck on his horn* >P *growling softly, continues on, deciding to go outside instead*

Jimi: *gingerly removes the pillow and slaps the fire out, then grimacing, puts the pillow back on the couch, burn-marks face down* >_>;

David: -flails and goes over to iggy- whats gotten you all riled up, you don't usually set things on fire.

Iggy: David~ *sighs and sits down on an outdoor chair* Oh he's always pestering me. I suppose I over-reacted, but it took me off-guard. I wasn't expecting to see him.

David: -chuckles and pats iggy- don't let it get to it -plops beside him-

Iggy watches David with a half-smile then shakes out his mis-matched wings. "Oh, generally I try not to. It's an old feud between the two of us. He takes out his pain on me sometimes, so I understand it. And... I suppose it only means that he trusts me enough to take it."

"yeah,I know but you generally don't randomly set things on fire, Izzy we may be friends and the leaders of the cats and may not spend enough time together, but I know you enough to know that you don't set things on fire unless something is bothering you" he said before jumping and teetering on an arm rest. "so what's bothering my alpha?" he asked

"Ah, so Jimi taking things out on me isn't a good enough reason?" He smiles a little sadly and shakes his head, then glances up with mild surprise when David jumps on the chair's arm. "Well, I suppose you are the person I should talk to about this. It is difficult being leaders of our pack, but more so under close scrutiny. I sometimes feel like I am constantly being judged, and I always feel like I am not doing enough for our pack. It is difficult to to do much more... cats are cats, after all. We are not normally pack animals. So I have tried simply being there, and letting my presence be known. Anyone wanting help or advice or whatever, from their alpha, is welcome." Sighing, he shrugs. "But lately, no, for a very long time now, I feel that there really is no need for that. I am thinking perhaps it is time I step down and let someone else take my place. It would be nice to live a more peaceful, simple life."

David flails at the idea of stepping down "Why would you step down? you don't enjoy being the leader" he frowned a little that made him a little sad, he loved having Iggy as his alpha and no one could replace him "Don't do that! I like having you as my alpha, Hey neither of my cats in my side talk to me about their problems, its natural...we just have more leisure time to do our own thing" he put in. "if they needed our help on bigger problems I'm sure they would have come to us..maybe their problems are just minor" he told him. "it may seem we don't do much but they do need some cats to keep them in order" he said.

"This is why I'm talking about it with you." Iggy was not surprised by David's reaction, but he had not figured out a way to say it any better than he had. And he did not really know how to reply to David. He had thought of what David was saying now, but he could not shake feeling the way he did. "Maybe I'm just tired of it all. Even with all the free time, I don't really feel as if I should take it for myself. And when I think about it, what should I do, I can't think of anything. What do you do in your free time?"

David sighs and frowns some more "but if you want to give up what you have then its up to you. Just keep in mind you never know what you have until you lose it" he said jumping off and wandering over to a small puddle. He knew being a leader was tough but he wasn't complained he loved his job even if didn't invovle him doing much. He sprawled out on his tummy and played with the puddle with a finger as he stared at his reflection, no one still could replace Iggy. He Valued Iggy as a friend and as a alpha but if he wanted to give everything up that was his own choice.

Speaking his mind had been a mistake after all. Ignatius' ears flattened back against his head. Despite the words David spoke, physically leaving his side seemed symbolic and final. More than anything, it felt as if David had turned his back on him. It was a perfectly feline thing to do. Well... perhaps it was time to leave after all. Maybe taking some time off was what he needed. There was a number he could be reached at, at least, he had always made sure of it. So he would carry a phone on him. But maybe he wouldn't answer it right away. He set his jaw and rose to his feet. Time to go.

David sighs lightly before sitting up before blowing out a breath to keep himself from being emotional. He swished his tail to and fro idly, before jumping to his feet. He glanced at Iggy "You know, there are other things in life that aren't invovling rank or race. If you wanted to..you could always live a happy life" he put in.

Iggy glanced back over at him and shrugged. "I... know that." Like David, his words and his own actions, and even his tone of voice did not agree with one another. He had tried that already. He was terrible at it. Neither of his mates had been happy with him, nor his sons, though Keahi had always tried to make the best of things. But he had never been happy until he met Blythe.

David wandered over to Iggy "well.. have you tried living happily with just one?" he asked not sure where that questions came from "I had the same experience with mine..but I'm not letting it get me" he said "we could always just give up rank and race and figure out how to live a happy life" he put in

"My typical behavior usually leads to jealousy if I'm with someone. Or there are those like Jimi who outright despise me. So no, I haven't." There were others like him... Keelin, whom had turned his tendencies toward child rearing, and Carlos... come to think of it, he wasn't sure how he redirected it. Adrian was not the most doting of boyfriends. Maybe his mechanical persuits? "Ah. Perhaps I need a hobby..." He watched David curiously. "David, just what is it you are trying to say?"

David shook his head "I'm not trying to say anything..I'm just saying there should be someone better out there for you" he put in. He flitted his wings idly "Everyone needs a hobby or two keep themselves busy" he put in. Then again he wasn't sure what he was trying to say, he shrugged it off.

Ignatius smiled and shook his head. He was not about to start the futile argument about finding someone else with David. "I suppose I will go look for a hobby then."

David shrugs "well, i'm sure you will find a great hobby to keep you occupied. I should probably do that as well" he put in thinking about it. He swished his tail to and fro idly.

Iggy nodded. "Thank you David, though I have no idea where to start. Do you have any ideas for yourself?" He sat back down on the chair. He had been about to leave but maybe not just yet...

David thought about "surprisingly no..I'm on a mission for self-discovery, your welcome to join me" he put in with a light smile. Before lightly purring in content.

"A mission for self-discovery?" he repeated curiously. After thinking about it for a moment, he looked up at David curiously. "All right... maybe I'll join you."

David blinks "not in that way..just finding out what I'm interested in and what hobbies I can pick up" he put in. "think of it as another long needed vacation" he said nodding his head lightly.

Iggy's indigo eyes widened. "That is what I thought you meant... What did you think I meant?"

David flushed "nothing.." he said quickly before recovering from his blush fiasco. He shook his head at himself and how he worded it. Dear, god that probably sounded wrong. "I..I...I'm going to go find something to eat" he said before disappearing into the kitchen to find something to eat.

Iggy stared after him without a word. It was just too much of a shock that David had said such a thing. But once he recovered, of course he was grinning ear to ear. Poor David, he must be miserable after making such a slip. But one had to wonder just why he had. He gave him several minutes in the kitchen before following after. He peeked inside and called out quietly, "David, are you all right?"

David blew out a breath and rested on the counter before turning and opening the fridge door to make something to eat. He was definitely hungry and he would do anything take back what he said. He muttered to himself quietly as he made a sandwich and squeaked when Iggy's head came into view "Yes-s-s...i'm fine" he said trying to finish up his sandwich.

His behavior even now was highly suspicious. It would seem that there was certainly something to what David had... assumed. So the question was, was it because of what he was thinking, or was it because he now believed that Iggy thought the worst of him? Not wanting to assume anything, Iggy stepped inside and leaned on the counter. "David. If it's nothing, then why are you upset? What is on your mind? And... 'nothing' is not an acceptable answer," he smiled.

David shook his head "I can't..." he said before putting his sandwich's ingredients back inside the fridge. He did want to share but he was worried Iggy may be taken a back by it. But he did want to blurt it out. His emotions were getting the better of him,but the two were so different and were the opposite of each other, Iggy was Fire and he was Water and he wasn't even sure how they would get it to work if it got there.

He followed quietly after David, stopping next to the fridge with the door between them, and thought perhaps that he was being a little forward about this. After all, David was struggling. However, if Iggy didn't follow, wouldn't David only continue to run away? "David, earlier, I shared with you something that has been bothering me for quite some time. And you tried to help me even though you didn't want to hear it. Doesn't it have to go both ways for this to work?" Of course, he was referring to friendship, to partnership as alpha and beta... and if David meant for something more, wasn't that doubly true?

David blinked as Iggy appeared on the other side of the fridge door, he glanced down at door standing between them. "yes, you did..but I don't know how you will react if I told you" he said "but if you want to know what's on my mind...fine." he said blowing out a breath "the only reason..why i suggested you trying to start up a relationship with just one...is because...Your not only my partner with the whole leaders of the pack thing..but as alpha and beta I figured we could give being actually together a shot so we can handle pack problems together instead of getting them and sharing them but coming up with solutions together" he said "and so we can find hobbies to keep us both occupied..but we are so different from each other..you know with the whole fire and water thing" he finished.

"I see." So... perhaps that time Iggy had said that he had always feared anything closer than some kind of business relationship between the two of them had really stricken David. But, Ignatius had always felt as if his other half was David. When they had been out of contact, he had been similarly devastated as when he had lost his mates. Every alpha or beta he had ever spoken with that was missing their beta felt similarly. So really, by keeping David at arm's length, all along he had been failing David the most. "Then.... what I said before still stands. I will join you."

David smiled lightly and closed the door between them "though admittedly..when we lost contact it upset me so much and worried me that something bad happened to you" he told him. "Then in truth it is a journey of self-discovery" he said thinking about it before swishing his tail to and fro idly as he picked up his sandwich and took a bite out of it "though I truly was hungry" he said chewing.

"Oh... you did? Me too, I felt as if half of me had gone missing," Iggy replied softly. Then David's confession about the sandwich left him chuckling. "Yes, a journey of self-discovery. Wherever it may lead us." Since he was not hungry, he simply leaned against the counter. Now that the hard part was over, it was difficult to think of what to do next.

David glanced at Iggy "heck yes! and same here" he said before smiling "never worry me like that again, got it!" He said before finishing off his sandwich and nodding his head at what Iggy said " so true" he put in.

Iggy flushed a little. Considering he had almost done just that earlier, it was good that they had had this talk, if for no other reason. "All right. If I am ever about to disappear again, I will tell you first."

" you better, i hate worrying" he put in before peering out of the kitchen and into the main area, it had gone completely quiet "now what shall we do? Since we have the place to ourselves" he asked tapping his chin

"Hm..." Iggy followed him and peeked around the doorway. It did appear that they had the shop to themselves. He grinned lightly and poked David's belly. "Something to drink with your sandwich? We can go sit out there and talk about what we want to do first."

David blinks as Iggy poked his belly "mmm..perhaps" he said before taking Iggy's hand a small stream of steam rising once they touched, he blinked and let go "sorry Iggy" he said before walking out of the kitchen plopping down on a couch.

Iggy's eyes bugged out for a moment at the reaction. He had not expected his elemental power to be that so close to the surface. He was usually in better control of it, but this time it had almost felt drawn out by David's touch. Judging by the beta's response, he had not expected that reaction either. He bounded up onto the couch after the water cat had disappeared through the door; David was constantly fleeing. "Don't apologize. It... didn't hurt. I am surprised, but it only felt strange, not painful. You?"

David blinked and glanced at the alpha "well, if you're sure" he said and tilted his head to the side "is it usually that close to the surface?" He asked before lightly touching Iggy's hand again and another stream of steam emerged. He shook his head "that wasn't painful for me either..." He said.

Iggy shook his head. "Not at all. I mean, there are times when I lose control of my emotions, then the fire can also burn out of control. But this is new." He watched in awe when David touched his hand again and the steam reappeared. Impulsively, Ignatius clasped their hands together. The steam hissed angrily before poofing into a wet-looking wave. Something that looked like mirages on a hot day filled the air between them. He cackled. "Oh, this is too strange. I wonder if other alphas and their betas have these kind of things happen."

David blinked as a mirage of warm air appeared between the two of them. He blinked as it shimmered "i'm curious about what this means" he said he wondered what would happen if he was to actually kiss the alpha. But he was a little iffy about the outcome. "But your emotions seem to be under control, this has to mean something else" he said as he remained holding hands with the alpha.

Good question, what did it mean? Perhaps it meant they were either compatible or volotile. They had always gotten along, though they had always operated peacefully together. They did, after all, seem to cancel each other out. But it was bringing their powers to the surface, reacting to one another. He bit his lip, "I am all for this self-discovery thing, but what if this becomes dangerous for the shop or others nearby? Perhaps we should go elsewhere?" Regardless of supposed danger however, since it did not appear to hurt either one of them, Iggy was also not letting go.

" hey i'm all for the self- discovery as well, but this is intriguing me" he said. Before thinking on it, usually the reaction Iggy got whenever he touched him was something negative and Iggy would have fled, but this was definitely different in a good way, did it mean they were actually suppose to be couple or just a partnership. He lightly nibbled on his bottom lip " i think that is a good idea, and we can see what else happens when we touch, although im not willing to let go" he put in.

Iggy grinned at David and nodded. This was something they needed to test anyway. How long had they known each other and this had never happened? Had they really never touched before? This, not just the steam, was very different. He had always restrained himself with others, afraid to burn them, even if by outward appearances he seemed reckless and amorous. Now he wondered if he could let go and David's ability would protect him and everything would be just fine. He squeezed David's hand and steam again hissed almost angrily. "Then don't let go. I want to see where this leads us."

David nods his head,so really telling Iggy about how he felt benefitted them both "okay, lets go somewhere where we can test this some more" he said " i'm curious to know where this leads us as well" he put in. Well, at least he didn't have to flee because he was afraid he would hurt Iggy, but the reaction now to their elements touching said otherwise.

That time, the steam had tickled, and Iggy chuckled. It was starting to make him feel goofy, and that could only mean that if he wasn't careful he'd make a complete fool of himself. So he took the opportunity and suggestion to go someplace else, to get to his feet and pull David up gently with him. "Do you have a place in mind, David?"

User Image"I... do not, actually, not specifically." He frowned. But there was a place a distance off. He knew someone whose life was spent in seclusion. "In the hills, there are miles of wilderness. Perhaps we can find a place there." He watched David, wondering if he was getting strange ideas about it. "Alternately, my home in the Nullspace is fireproof. I doubt water would harm it either."

David thinks about it " i think that is a good place to find out what else we can do with our elements cancelling out each other" he said before holding Iggy's hand watching the steam emerge. He grinned and amused and fascinated at the same time. "well, lets see...in both places we could do lots of tests but if we were outside we would get cold. But if we were inside...we wouldn't have to worry about sitting on the cold ground. So I say we go to your place?" he asked thinking about it.

Iggy chuckled and nodded. "All right, my place then." Iggy never needed to try to keep warm... but he could certainly respect David's worry. "Would you like to walk or fly?" he asked, tugging them lightly towards the door.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 11, 2013 8:51 pm

David thought for a moment before answering "I think flying will take us there faster, but you need to lead the way, i don't know the way there" he said. The more he thought about it the more he realized he had never been to Iggy's place in all the years that they have known each other. Hmm..it seems there was going to be a lot of firsts between them.

"I thought so too," he replied about flying there. "You really have not been to the Nullspace before? I really should have brought you sooner. I apologize." He pointed down the street in the direction in relation to the shop, and explained where it was, before they took flight. On the way there, he said, "It's a nice place. From the road it looks like a little cottage but in reality it is massive. Everyone has a living space in the size and shape of their choosing."

David nodded his head and then shook his head "no, I haven't, you have never taken me to your place in the years we've known each other" he put politely as he flew beside Iggy. He watched Iggy explain the location of it in relation to the shop. "that is interesting, so its like a mirage of some sort, you know because when you are on the road it looks really small but when you get closer it gets really big" he put in.

"No. I wanted to keep my private life separate from pack life," he replied quietly. He wasn't so sure David would hear it. He wasn't going to try to think too hard about what was happening between them, even literally between their fingers and palms. "Actually, Mel tried to explain it when he made it. It really is not visible even when you stand next to it. It folds in upon itself, potentially infinitely. I don't really understand it, myself."

(I don't either, but it works! xD )

David thinks about it "I suppose that makes sense..." he said before venturing to ask him a question "Iggy, are you still contemplating stepping down from your position as alpha?" he asked curiously as he hovered in place. He was curious to know and he wasn't sure where their relationship would end. Though it hurt him a little to know that Iggy may still very well step down from his position as being alpha.

Surprised, Ignatius paused and circled back around to face David, hovering mid-air with him. "Honestly? I am keeping my options open. I am ready to, if I must."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 11, 2013 9:42 pm

David frowns "I guess..me telling my feelings didn't change much of your mind did it?" he asked. He swished his tail to and fro idly as he hovered in mid-air. Before he let go of Iggy's hand so the steam didn't make either of them loopy. He blinked as his emotions were getting the better of him yet again "Ah...I see..." he trailed off. Before he glanced down at where Iggy's place "come...on" he said.

Iggy blinked at David's reaction, and merely watched him put physical distance between them. Perhaps he was feeling too unstable --emotional-- still. Unconsciously, he flexed his paw as the tingling they had felt between them began to disappear. He sighed and approached, to pass him. But as he did he paused and said quietly to him, "Actually you made my decision become merely another option." He glanced away and descended to the grassy lawn below.

David shook his head a little he was still getting use to the amount of steam they had created when they touched. But the downside to being a water elemental was that if he was unhappy, sad or angry it would show. He repositioned himself into a diving position and descended towards the grassy plains, but there was also a upside to being water elemental he would be aerodynamic if he shifted his position. He landed quietly before looking around at the surroundings before walking over to Iggy "now what?" he asked

Iggy pointed to the front of the 'cottage' and looked at David with a half-smile. "Front door." He headed towards it and waited for David before entering and holding the door open for him. "Would you like a tour, or would you like to get down to... 'pack business,' first?" he asked with a chuckle.
