The start of spring called for one last minute thing. Before the ice completely thawed out, on a fairly cold day, Serenity was going to go ice skating outside for one last time until the next winter. The clocks had gone forward one hour, completely messing up with her internal clock. So, she was off to a bit of a late start this morning. Ice skates thrown over her shoulder, dressed in some very stylish skating gear with a fuzzy jacket thrown over top, she rushed to catch the bus that would take her to her favorite spot.
Her pale eyes were twinkling with happiness as she found that, not only had she not missed the bus, but there were actually seats open, she sat down and huffed a little, blowing her bangs out of her face. She fished her gloves out of her pockets and pulled them over her red, cold fingers before settling down.
Today wasn't going as planned, so she hoped it was still cold enough that it would actually be ice instead of water. Really, the mall would have been better, but there was something about skating outdoors on a lake that hadn't been completely smoothed over that was exciting to her. Probably why taking wild skiing trails in the mountains was way more fun for her than the marked trails at ski resorts. Not that there was anything wrong with taking the safe route, but she liked that element of danger. It wasn't like she'd been hurt while doing such things. Not seriously anyway. A scrape here, a bruise there, things like that.
For all her outdoorsy activity, Serenity could honestly say she'd never broken a bone in her body. Maybe cracked her tail bone learning how to ski and skate, but never a full break.
Either way, she stepped off the bus when it got to her stop and walked the small path down to a little lake. It was just the right size for maybe twenty skaters to comfortably skate there, and luckily for her, it was empty, and still very much ice.
With a laugh, she took a spot on the bench to take off her boots and fuss with her skates.

********* had been looming closer to where Ellie's house was located these days. It mostly had to do with a new addition to the team who was currently holed up there. However, she was still a guardian and still had other duties to tend to. She had somehow managed to notice the presence of an unawakened senshi.
Which had led to the cat chasing this girl to the frozen lake.
Eventually, the girl in question had taken a seat upon a bench, and that meant it was time for action! Of course, when one was a small furball, her version of "action" was not necessarily that amazing.
Wandering up close, the animal announced her presence by mewling out loudly.

In the middle of tying a skate onto her foot, the meow startled the pale girl and she jumped, looking up to... a cat? Out here by the lake? While it wasn't rare, it was still a bit unusual. Tilting her head to the side, she put a hand to her chest as she let out a laugh. "You startled me, kitty cat!" With a sigh, she leaned forward, putting a hand out, beckoning her. "Are you a friendly kitty? Do you want to be pet?" What else would a girl do to a cat who walked right up to them and meowed? A little smile on her face as she clicked her tongue and then rubbed her fingers together through her gloves. She really wanted to pet the cat.

Kitty was easily lured by the call of petting fingers. Yes, she had a job to do, but it didn't mean she couldn't enjoy the simpler things for a bit before spoiling the moment by speaking up on destiny and duty and the what-not. Sometimes merely speaking up did make people uncomfortable with treating her as a cat, despite the fact she was a cat.
She just happened to be an intelligent cat who could talk.
Either way, as fingers sought out permission to pet her, she leaned in and accepted the offered graciously, easily leaning into the wonderful sensation she'd easily lead to behind her ears. That was always a pleaser for her.

Seeing how this cat was up for petting, Serenity just laughed and scratched behind the cat's ear like she apparently wanted. Her pale eyes watched the cat closely. It just boggled her mind that a cat would be out here, in the cold no less!
"You must have a home... You look well taken care of. Are you lost? Is that why you're here?" Poor kitty. She must have been lost and maybe even a little hungry. Unfortunately, Serenity didn't have anything for the cat to eat right now, so that would honestly have to wait a bit. Maybe if the cat trusted her enough, she could pick her up and ask around the neighborhood.
"So cute!"

Now that ********* was close to the girl, who was leaning in and petting her, the feline said "...Actually, I'm here for you..."
Fortunately, ********* didn't say it in creepy manner, otherwise that could have totally had a different context altogether.

Since she was watching the cat, the voice came as a bit of surprise. The girl yelped and backed up a bit. Her wide, pale eyes were staring at that cat like it was possessed.
"You... Did... Did you just talk? Cats can't talk... That's silly." Serenity laughed nervously to herself and worked on her skates again. She was losing it. She was tired. That's right. "Here for me. I must be over working myself."

The manx couldn't say this was the first time someone reacted in such a surprised manner. It was actually quite the common response. Disbelief in a supposedly lesser intelligent creature talking to them.
At times she wished Mauvians and Earth-felines didn't look so similar.
"...Yes, here for you... and yes, cats can talk, but not all of them have anything important to say. Either way, I have some things for you..."
She trotted away slightly before rather suddenly doing a small, unimpressive backflip. The spot she had just jumped over soon enough had two objects clatter to the ground. An odd pen and a cellular phone.
"...go ahead... take them!" she offered in a cheery manner.

Unimpressive to her maybe, but to Serenity, it made her smile with how cute it was.
But she was still kind of just staring at the cat, like she was going crazy. When the manx trotted back with a pen and a cell phone, Serenity's brows went up and she looked dubious. Frowning hard, the girl moved to grab said objects in either of her hand and looked them over.
"What are these for?" She looked down at the cat she'd been petting just moments ago like she was some kind of alien.

"Those are yours!"
Which was not an actual answer to the real question that had been asked.
"Take the pen... go on, take it, take it, take it!"

That was the most not helpful thing the cat had said so far.
The cat had said...
That was a funny phrase. Still, she took the things offered in her hand and wrinkled her nose. "Where did these even come from?"

The feline didn't even skip a beat in her response.
"A pocket in subspace. However, that's not what's important right now!"
Her green eyes glanced about the immediate area, double checking that nobody was going to pop in and interrupt the current conversation. There were no chaotic energy signals bouncing about, no signs of youma, Negaverse agents, or the Dark Mirror Senshi.
Just ********* and...
"...take the pen, and call out 'Machholz Power Make-up!' Lots of energy!"

A pock-
Okay, she could deal with that. If she could wrap her head around this cat was talking to her, then yes, the cat pulled a pen and cellphone from a space pocket or something. Right. She needed to check her temperature when she got home.
Looking to the pen in her hand, she frowned before shrugging. Might as well humor the talking cat. With it in her head this was all a dream, she went ahead to call out what she was told. "Machholz Power Make-up!" Something compelled her to close her eyes as she felt something washing over her, something happening to her. Honestly, Serenity couldn't begin to explain what it was.
It was a light feeling, but also something powerful behind it. It took her breath away. When she opened her eyes, after the sensation had cooled off, she looked down at herself and blinked. Well then. "That was so cool!" She laughed, looking herself this way and that, trying to see every angle. "These clothes are so cute! Look at my shoes!" Then she blinked. "So what does this mean, other than I look fiercely fashionable?"

As the pale girl transformed and dawned a rather dark fuku, the cat just sat her haunches right down to watch. She would never get tired of watching the first transformation for any senshi she had the luck of encountering.
As the girl seemed to start inspecting herself once the magical dance was done with, ********* couldn't help but chuckle.
There was only one answer to the question.
"It means you are Sailor Machholz, Senshi of Poison."

Her eyes flashed a moment before she bit down on her lip. Poison? "Does that make you my guardian angel in cat form then?" She teased before squatting down to examine ********* more. "A senshi..." Now more questions were swirling in her head. She pushed her hair out of her face and took a deep breath.
She'd learn everything over time, she had a feeling. So, the only question Serenity had was "What do I do now?"
