It was Dustin’s third night on the streets, apartment hopping from stranger’s bed to stranger’s bed, and the process was growing tiring and gross. It was already late and he hadn’t made it to a bar yet, dragging around a small bag filled with clothes and necessities – everything paid for by stolen money from the strangers. He tossed the bag onto a park bench and laid down, using it as a pillow as he drifted to sleep…

…or tried to.

The rumbling growl of a snarl jolted him off the bench.

“Come out of hiding, you p***y,” Dustin called out to whoever – or whatever – the noisemaker was. It probably wasn’t the best idea to upset it.

A strange, disgusting, four-legged feral creature leapt out from between two trees, pouncing on to the park bench that he was just resting on. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before, a mix of wolf and bear and lion with the strangest texture that let out a frightening roar inches away from the teen’s face.

“Holy ********,” he breathed as he fumbled a step back. This s**t was about to kill him.

No – no he could defend himself. He just had to do something he wasn’t quite used to yet, something he really didn’t want to do…

…he quickly powered up to Sailor Typhon, the Corrupted Senshi of Hurricanes in defense, ready to fight. Instead, however, the creature became suddenly neutral towards him as he became recognized as an ally, quickly scouring away to ignore him completely.

“Yeah, you better run, b***h!” Typhon shouted. But a strange sensation tingled up his spine – he wasn’t alone. Someone else was approaching.

It was not uncommon to find a certain negaverse captain perched upon a rooftop. He could be found seated on the edge of the roof with one leg dangling over the edge, the other propped up with an arm slung over. His body was hunched forward with his free palm pressed against the cold stone beneath him. His posture showed that he was weary, worn, but his eyes said otherwise as they were bright with intensity and energy.

He appeared to be relaxed but he was alert, silently taking in his surroundings. Occasionally he would close his eyes and breath deeply, focusing his energy on surveying his surroundings feeling for the energy pulses of other powered individuals nearby.

It was a quiet night.

The only thing he could detect were the soft pulses of the youma that still slithered through the city. He paid them no heed, at first, because they did not concern him. Until the pulse of a youma triggered a spike in chaotic energy. His eyes fluttered open and sudden he was on his feet, weapon summoned. The energy signal was unmistakable, it was one the young captain was very familiar with.

A corrupted senshi.

Amber eyes took a quick survey of his surrounds before he dropped to the ground and took off running towards where he felt the spike. It didn't take him long to come upon the boy and briefly confusion crossed his face. He dispelled it quickly as he called out to Typhon. "You aren't supposed to be out here, alone." Weren't corrupts assigned to a "keeper". He couldn't remember if it only applied to the forcibly corrupt.

Whatever was approaching seemed to come closer and closer until the blue-haired Senshi's attention was drawn to the source of energy - a boy with a silly outfit and some kind of flamingo thing. He wasn't sure if it was a Negaverse agent or if he got lost from a very serious Alice in Wonderland costume party, but he assumed the former.

"Why is that? I think I can handle myself around any cruisers in the park," Typhon quipped. "What's it to you anyways? I don't know me, and I sure as hell don't know you."

"Policy," he replied sharply, eyes narrowing. "Patrols aren't to be taken alone," he stated coming to a stop a few yards from the senshi. "Though it appears you weren't patrolling," he shook his head. Information wasn't being passed fluidly, like it needed to be. More and more he felt as though things were becoming lax, that they were pushing the new recruits out on their own with little grasp of what was going on.

Spec-ops wasn't like that, perhaps the other branches were slacking.

Tsk. Tsk.

"Senshi like you are supposed to have a handler." It wasn't a judgement, just a statement. "Did they not assign one to you?" He asked, brow arching. He was a handler himself and a part of him was concerned for this senshi. He was alone, information wasn't getting to him.

The sharpness in Typhon's responses made Labyrinthite only sigh. "The Negaverse is a collaborative, we are a team. A family of sorts," he explained, beginning to step up on to his soapbox. "We look after each other, regardless of whether or not we know each other personally. If you are at a loss for who you are it is the job for the intelligence branch to assist you." He looked Typhon up and down, evaluating him. "I am Captain Labyrinthite. As they have not assisted you as necessary, I reach out my hand to offer my services."

He offered his hand to Typhon.

Sailor Typhon crossed his arms, refusing his hand, giving Labyrinthite's hand a strange and unwelcome look.

"Sailor Typhon," he introduced with a grumpy frown. He wasn't happy with anything that the Captain had to say. He never heard a word about him having to have someone babysit him. He didn't sign up for the Negaverse anyways, but he definitely would not have signed up for that. It was just another reason he wanted out, now. "What kind of assistance are you going to offer me? I don't want a ******** babysitter, but I could use a couch to crash on for the night. And don't ******** push your Negaverse crap on me when I do, I need a place to sleep, not a damn lecture."

With that, he stretched out to offer his own hand.

"Do we have a deal?" he asked.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2013 3:02 pm

He had to inhaled deeply to keep the annoyance from showing on his expression. He pulled his hand back coolly, letting it rest loosely at his side when it was rejected. He couldn't really blame the senshi for his hostility, it was clear he was brought into something unwillingly, but he was simply offering his help. He just had to keep reminding himself that the boy was in a new, and possibly frightening situation, so he would need time to adapt.

Labyrinthite needed to remain patient and understanding. Or try to anyway.

"Handlers are not babysitters, or that is not the intention," he stated, brow furrowing slightly. "They're merely there to help you readjust to life." He probably wasn't really helping himself so he stopped there. "I can offer you something better than a bed," he told him thinking of his large home. "I have a spare room you can use for the time being."

He eyed the extended hand suspiciously. The pink-haired boy was skeptical of this newcomer but as he had said before, the negaverse was a family and family had each others backs. Even if one was a d**k. They helped him when he went through a rough patch, it was time to pay it forward.

So he took the offered hand. "Yes," he answered, minutes later. Then he blinked and they were gone. Teleported into Labyrinthite's home.

"What the fffffff----" Sailor Typhon freaked the ******** out, his body flailing as he was teleported away, shoving Labyrinthite away from him in panic as soon as they arrived. "-----ffffffffffuuuuck?!"

"Where the s**t am I?" The area looked safe and domestic enough. It wasn't a torture dungeon from his worst nightmares. He wasn't being strapped to a chair and forced to watch Glee. He took a few breaths to calm down quickly, then gave him a look - half embarrassment, half apologetic. At least, it was the closest he was going to get to an apology.

"So this is your place?" he questioned. Not bad. It wasn't his mansion of his former life, but it wasn't bad. Hell, it was better than sleeping on a park bench. He looked around and gave a nod. "I think I can crash here for a bit."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 16, 2013 8:07 am

He hadn't thought about the idea that Typhon may have never been teleported anywhere. Nor had he thought about how the senshi might react. He had also never teleported anywhere with anyone attached, it took more of him than he had expected so when they materialized his knees gave out beneath him.

The shove from Typhon didn't help and Labyrinthite found himself sprawled out on the floor, exhaustion seeping over him like a crashing wave. "Sorry," he apologized slowly picking himself up off the ground. "I should have warned you," he stated beginning to stand only to fall back down. He sighed, resigning to sit there for a minute.

Note to self: don't teleport with two people

"It is," he answered, complete with a nod. "The room I have in mind for you is up the stairs, down the hall and the last room on the left." His old room. The one he moved out of when his father died. "If you give me a minute, I can give you a brief tour." He needed a few minutes. "There's another...tenant here that is also a corrupted senshi who is staying with us. Then there is...my mother. She does not know of my other life and I would prefer it stay that way."

"Your mom?" he cocked a brow. It wasn't too strange for someone to be living with his mother - Dustin was living with his mother not too long ago, but he didn't expect to be offered a place when someone still lived with their mother. "So are you like, in the closet to her or something? You know, to reapply the term."

"Or the term might have its normal use," he suggested with an uncaring shrug. "Either way, secret's safe bro. It's not like I want to tell anyone I'm some...whatever the hell I am. Corrupted Sushi thing."

He really needed some pointers.

"So who is the other roommate?"

"It's complicated," he said, responding to Typhon's cocked brow. "Long story short, my father passed recently and my mother insists I stay home to keep her company." It was the simplest explanation the captain had to give, it wasn't quite true but it wasn't false either. Even after death Samuel had made that house Chase's prison.

He cracked a grin at Dustin's application of the common phrase. "Something like that."

"Her name is Sailor Eos, or Naomi when simply a civilian," he replied. He glanced up towards the stairs. "She is in a similar state as you, though she was in a far worse state when she came into my hands," he shrugged recalling the day he found her in the rift. "It won't be easy, adjusting to this new life but...you seem...capable.

Typhon smirked for a flash. He wasn't sure if he was capable of much of anything, but he wasn't going to turn down any kinds of compliments. Especially from an attractive boy roughly his age offering him shelter with no expectations - which was far better than the past nights of older gentlemen offering him shelter with all sorts of expectations. So many expectations - it was a well he was glad he wouldn't have to dip into again, it would seem. Things finally looked to be looking up a bit.

It was just a question of how long before he'd just break himself down again.

"I can handle a challenge," he replied with another light shrug. Even if the challenge was unwanted.

He supposed he could offer condolences about the boy's father, but that might be an invitation to talk about feelings and emotions and all that other buzz-killing depressing stuff that made Typhon want to blow his own brains out. "Though I still don't know what this 'new life' really means."

The glamor fell and the fierce-some captain was replaced by a somewhat haggard looking boy; dressed in dark jeans, a black button up with rolled up sleeves and a gray vest. He picked himself off the ground, finally and made his way slowly towards the stair. He had already begun to make his way up it when he paused, each foot on it's own step and hand on the railing to steady himself, looking back to Typhon.

"I'm sure you can."

He gestured with his head, "Follow me." It took three strides to put him at the top. "I don't know what it means for you, outside of the side you've joined. I know what the negaverse part of your life mean," he said, ignoring the idea that the senshi wouldn't understand any of his abnormal terms. "But you'll have a whole new identity, I know that too. It's up to you to decide how to handle that." He shrugged. "Can be as easy, or as hard as you want," he stated making his way down the hall.

"I didn't get the life alternating glamor. Can't help you cope with that, but if you've got questions about the Negaverse, I can help with that." If he didn't mind the opinions of a loyalist.

Upon watching the other boy power down, Typhon mimicked the move and powered into Dustin Harlow, a teenager in torn jeans, a vintage old band shirt, a stud-decorated leather jacket and a black bandana at the hairline of his blue-hair overstlyed into a quiff.

"Only like a million ******** questions, starting with what the hell is the Negaverse and why should I care?" he scoffed. He didn't mean to sound like a d**k, not that he'd apologize, but he really had no tactful way of putting it. Of course, there were ways, just none that he thought of.

When he was first recruited, Tag had tried to give him the basics but his own mind was more stuck on the whole he-lost-his-identity part of the update, so wasn't really paying attention. He knew that Alexandre seemed to care a lot about it, but was a bit of a condescending a** about it most of the time.

"I'm sure you don't want to go through it all now," he started, projecting a bit. He didn't want a huge lecture just before bed. That's more of a hungover-in-the-morning kind of thing to have. "We'll be living together, so there's time for you to play teacher."
PostPosted: Sun May 12, 2013 7:37 pm

In truth, Chase cared little if they went over every little detail he knew now, in the morning, or over a varied time span. Old habits died hard and the boy still slept for shorter periods than what was healthy. "I'm sure you wouldn't want to sit through it all right now," he countered offering the other boy a half grin.

He shrugged running a hand through his pink and black spiked hair letting his fingers rest entangled in the two-toned locks while he stared at Dustin. "One, the Negaverse is an...organization dedicated to protecting the earth while practicing some...unconventional means," he explained. It was the briefest explanation he could offer. "Two, because your power comes from the Negaverse and Metallia, who will not hesitate to rip it from you and kill you if she saw fit. But that is for another time, another day."

Geez, way to end on a killer note. (Yes, the pun was intended.)

He came to the last room on the left and pushed the door open. "This will be where you'll be staying." Suddenly he sounded exhausted. "If you need anything, I will be three rooms down on the right."

"Sounds ******** peachy," he grumbled. Great, some organization shanghai'd him into joining, stole his identity and could kill him if he stepped out of line. This was just sounding like so much fun, he was so glad that this happened to him. Even his inner thoughts were in sarcasm regarding his situation. Fantastic.

Well, at least he had a place to stay, and a nice enough guy looking out for him - and not as much of a douchebag as Tag and not as dull as Alexandre.

"Looks good enough," he said regarding the room with a grin of thanks as he stripped off his jacket. "Have a good night man."
