Oberon: *Stands off to one side, his multi layered wings flicking at his sides. Watching those of his neighboring herd*
Koray: ~Giggles and trots though feeling awkward in his growing body, bumping into Oberon~ Whooops!
Oberon: *Takes a bit of a step to the side as something or someone bumps into him. Head turning a little he looks down at the yearling* Finding your legs, kid? Awkward thing, growing that is, have to get used to everything all over again. *Looks away, his long sea colored tail flicking behind him.* Soon you will be old enough to be a soldier. *Mutters to really no one at all, his thoughts elsewhere.*
Koray: Yush mister! And hiding when playing is awkward to! ~Trying half assedly to remember his manners as he looks at the Elder, not intimidated or phased by his size but curious at his last mutter~ A solider? Whassat?
Oberon: *Glances down at the teen, his multi-layered wings flicking before laying flat against his body* A soldier is someone that protects what he cares about. Someone who even fights for the rights of another who has been accused of a wrong. Or are you thinking of being just one of those everyday stallions who do as they please? *Could see that hiding could be rather difficult in the way of a growing body, but it would push a mind to think of new ways to do things.*
Koray: ~Blinks~ I dunno what I wanna do... ~Gets distracted with the flickering wings.~ That sounds cool, like playing hero? What about the people I don't care about?
Oberon: *Turns to the teen so that it didn't seem like he was speaking to someone else.* Something like it, but there are no true heroes. Those are only stories that Nan's tell babes at bed time. To plant dreams to their heads. *Shakes his own head.* To those you don't care about, you could be their shield, if they ask for it or you see that they are in trouble. A soldier never shies from a cry for help. Nor does he take barter to ignore such a cry.
Koray: Whats a barter ? ~Tilts head at the Arion elder~
Oberon: *Gives the teen a small grin* Bartering is the means of giving someone something to over look a crime in some means, or the trade of items in good faith and business. The means of barter I speak of is the darker kind. *Pauses to ponder* Say you are wandering and hear someone screaming for help. Would you go and help who ever screamed? I'm sure you would, but the question is, if there were more than one person hurting this crier of help and the other tried giving you something. Would you take it and leave, leaving the helpless to their whims? *Yes this was a mouthful, and quite puzzle-y, but that was one thing that Oberon liked, puzzles.*
Koray: ~Looks like his brain is going explode for a moment before recovering~ Why are they hurting the crier? Were they bad?
Oberon: Not everyone is as kind as those of your herd, family and friends. There are some out there with minds of rot and seek to make the lives of others as dark as their own. There are creatures that luck in the shadows that would love to turn someone like, perhaps your sister into their little toy that could be used whenever they like. *He glanced away* So the question still stands, if one of these Shadow creatures offered you something to over look their crime. Would you take this item and be on your way? Or would you try and help the one who cries?
Koray: So the one that cries wasn't bad? Though I don't think my sister would mind being used as a toy ~Giggles~ Might be hard if she was the stick in fetch though! ~Foal like innocence~

Oberon: *Shakes his head at the teen* You have yet to grow out of those babes dreams. The one who screams for help is hardly ever the one who has done wrong. But the ones that are trying to hurt them might well be shadow walkers. *This was getting tremendously annoying at the moment* By means of 'toy' was something you have yet to learn, but I shall spare your mind. There are many lessons to learn and you are hardly out of your first hooves. *Glances away, turning a bit as if to walk away from the teen.* This world is a lot larger then just your herd, I have seen much of it, but the highest peaks of the mountains and the deep oceans where the nova live. Lace wings, can't take the cold or the wet.. *Lets his wings stretch out a little, the delicate fibers waving in what breeze there might have been.* What of the world have your parents told you about?
Koray: Then I'd save the crier from the bad stars! ~Stays on the spot watching the Elder~ Dad says it's pretty boring... that all the exciting and things worth living for are in the herd. But he did say there were other herds ~Shrugs not all the interested in the world outside Moonlight~
Oberon: *Looks back, shaking his head at the teen* Ye of so little mind. *He phrased looking away* Your father is wrong about one thing, the world is not boring. There's more out there that you can learn from about being a good stallion. Staying in a herd is all fine and dandy, but you would never know what to do out there, on your own. Well, perhaps you would. *Side glances as he starts walking around the teen to get a good look at him* If you were to be a soldier, you would need toughening, and lots of it. *Completely neglects to even introduce himself to this teen of the Moonlight Herd. He just might... Eventually.*
Koray: ~Shrugs not looking bothered again~ I like it here, I could be a soldier and protect the ones I love here! How do I get tougheninged? ~Quite liking the idea of being able to protect his friends and family, even if half the other stuff the Elder said seemed to be lost of him.~
Oberon: I liked it many places, but I found the need to leave and do something else. I'm a wanderer, or at least I was. I have seen strife, plague, war and other things I would wish not on a child. I have even seen teens like yourself become fool-hearty, blaze off for glory and fall to the strains of loneliness. Driven mad in some cases, in the end losing themselves to darkness and in the end, food for the birds. *While it wasn't exactly the image he wanted to give the teen, but he needed something to toil at* To toughen up, you should travel some, get away from this one herd. See how others live, learn from other soldiers. Keeping to one herd id fine, but you won't know what else there is to learn by staying within these grounds. *Points to the ground with a pink hoof.* You can only learn so much in one place.

Koray: I don't wanna be lonely! Can't I get toughened up here, with my friends and family, If I left them I couldn't protect them! ~Was becoming set on the idea of protecting the ones he loved and cared about but really put off by the idea of travelling, not understanding the reasons for him to do so.~ I could learn from our soldiers and guardians! They'd know all about what I'd need to join them?
Oberon: *Narrowed his eyes at the teen. This one was becoming stubborn, and he was about to become even the more stubborn.* What if someone were to come at you with some move you never though of? Something you would never think was possible? Learning from the locals is all well and good. *Waves a wing in a sort of dismissing fashion* I'm a stranger to your herd, your lands, I know tactics you wouldn't think to learn about. How many of your Guardians have been outside these bounds? Not many of them I am sure. *Turns away once again,* You would do well to at least think about it before stomping a hoof like a spoiled child. I wouldn't be a War King if I didn't know the moves of my future foes or in other cases, future allies.
Koray: I dunno... a few? A war king? Wow really? Is that a special fancy title, maybe you could teach me! ~Smiles at the Elder hopefully, he seemed to know a lot, Koray wouldn't mind learning a few things... if his attention span allowed.~
Oberon: *Eyes the teen,* I don't know, you don't wish to go out into the world and learn some things on your own. I'm not of your herd, even if my mate is related to you. *Causes his size to shrink a bit so that he could look at the teen sort of eye to eye* Its just something I call myself, but I was at war many years ago. One that took my last betrothed, this was way before my fall. I waged war across the dream space, many fell. If I were to teach you something, how do I know that it will stick to you like pine sap?
Koray: ~Eyes go wide in amazement as the elder speak of the war, his past and dream space~ It would! Promise! Whats Dream space like? Mum says some stars fell and others like me are born, so I dunno what it's like to be a star up there. ~Smiles looking up and pointing a hoof to the sky, not bothered that he was born instead but interested to hear from a fallen star~
Oberon: Many stars fall from the Dream Space, I'm sure much of your family have fallen from what they knew as to be home. My home was shared with my sister. While she was more for the way everyone looked, mares. *Shakes his head, he still bore the adornments from his sister.* The spaces I warred were small compared to the larger clusters, but my homeland was like a paradise. It was much like your own herd lands here on in this space. But up there, other creatures loomed, winking in and out of the trees. Played with the foals at night. Was always fun trying to catch them, but they were fast like fireflies. *He gazed towards the skies.* I often miss the Dream space, the wars I waged. *He sighed* But I have put the most of that aside, this land is different. Tame."

Koray: ~Listens and thinks, deciding with this male it was better to give some thought to what he had to say before blurting out whatever came to mind.~ Did you war to save criers? Was it to help others? What were the creatures like, did the foals have fun playing with them?
Overon: Most times it was, other times it was my own selfish ambitions that lead me to war against others to take what wasn't mine. Ofttimes I won. other times I lost and had to retreat and consider my losses. *He looked down at the teen with calculating eyes.* To me, I only saw them as glowing spots of light. The foals say that they were small things. With wings like a dragonfly, but their bodies were strange. None never said the same thing, so it was hard to say. As for playing with them, I suppose they were fun, I never got the chance. The lights were smart, they always fled at the sight of an elder, only to come around again when we were out of sight. *He gave an uncaring shrug*

Koray: ~Looks at the Elder with an 'o' expression~ That was naughty! Did'cha make up for it though?
Oberon: Mmmm, not all the time. I was reckless in my youth, I had no parents, my sister was very little help. She liked her pretty things and dressing up. Girl stuff, often dragged me into it. *Glances at the fancy adornments he carried even now.* Sometimes I thought she was trying to turn me into a mare like herself. Haven't seen her after the fall, strange as it is. *He frowned a little glancing at the sky.* My wars always caused more trouble then solved it, always a back and forth thing, like tug-o-war, neither side winning for long. Since my Fall to this space, I have been rethinking all the havoc I caused up there. Pondering what could have been better for both sides. Losses might have been less. *Gets lost within his own thoughts for a moment, pondering how his life will be different on this plain.*

Koray: Your not going to make war here are you? ~Though the teen wasn't completely sure what this war was he had gathered it wasn't pleasant and apparently not very productive. His tone again was inquisitive and naive with no hint at threat.~ I'm sorry you didn't have your parents, that's no fun for anyone ~The boy frowned, he loved his parents... his relatives and friends and just about anyone he met the idea of not having any of them, especially parents was a truly sorrowful thing.~

Oberon: *Glances at the youth.* No, unless war is made against mine and those I consider allies. *Was the short answer before moving off in another direction from Koray* Now be a lad and head off. I have things to do. Play while your playing is good, for one day, your herd might call upon you to save them. *Not exactly waiting for an answer, his wings flicked at his sides and he took to the air and away.*

Koray: ~Blinking at the male briefly he smiled and nodded with an enthusiastic yet simple response of~ Ok! ~Starts to run off before turning back briefly to shout~ Bye, Mister! ~then carries on running to find something else to do.~
