This is Canoake's place. She hasn't invited you in. And even if she does, Haemath isn't too sure he wants you wandering around looking at his rider.

Journeyman Weaver/Junior Weyrling Canoake

Age: 20 Turns

Gender: Female

Prisoner: No
Crime: N/A

Candidate: Yes

Craft/Rank: Journeyman Weaver

Appearance: A gold in human form is how Canoake describes herself. She is 5'6", 135lbs with curves that would distract anyone. And she knows how to use them. Her bust would be a 40D with a realistic waist and bottom. Canoake boasts of dark brown, almost black hair that slightly lightens during the times there decent sunlight. Her eyes are a dark green and her skin tone at best would be a lighter cream color. She had an oval face with a wide mouth, raspberry lips; a long nose that turns up at the end, her eyes are rather large but well-spaced. She had higher arched eyebrows and thick lashes. She is slightly toned from having to haul rolls of cloth but not extraordinarily large; she doesn't want to appear anything less than feminine. Her favorite colors are red, russet brown and gold. She enjoys wearing hoop earrings and wildly patterned headbands that give her the look of a trader though she had never ventured past Warden Weyr and the local Hold. Her feet are small and her smile generous. On the occasion, she will wear bracelets given to her by various friends and lovers.

On a side note, Canoake is slightly bow-legged and she doesn't like her feet. Because of this, she will wear calf boots or knee boots to draw more attention to her legs and body than her feet. When she gets angry or upset, she has the bad habit of biting her nails.

Personality: If it's male, even if it's female, Canoake exists to charm them. She loves being loved and is selfish for attention. Whether she has to exaggerate on what tasks and responsibilities she has been given for the day or finding new ways to lower the neckline of her shirts, Canoake wants to be noticed. She prefers to be the center of attention but if it doesn't suit her current goal or task, then she is willing to supportive. After all, who knows when that person can return the favor? And because of this, she sometimes allows herself to be underestimated and unappreciated until it is time for her to come in and save the day.

Not to say this is a bad thing, especially for one living in a small, out of the way place who wants more out of her life than to be the espoused of a craft worker or married off to a cot holder. No, no. Canoake has plans and plans to make sure her plans succeed. Because of this, she is an excellent organizer and plotter. She has a way with people that can either come off as manipulative or charming, depending on what has to be done and who she is trying to charm. Canoake doesn't have the time or the patience for those who stand in the way of her goals and will trample over them to get what she wants in a timely fashion. Her temper burns hot and furious but burns quickly. After having her fit, Canoake will simply move on and dismiss the person from her thoughts.

Very rarely does she let anyone past the shell that she has erected around her true self, the person she can be most honest with when she is alone and out of the spotlight. Inside, she is scared and insecure about her future. Since she can remember, Canoake has worried about being worn out and broken like her mother and other lower totem workers. Though she knows she is was not born any better than any of the other child, she plans on being the one every person talks about and tries her hardest to make a lasting impression on those who can help her get ahead in life. Canoake has no true friends for which she regrets but friends are only tethers that hold one back from progressing forward in life. Who knows? Maybe one day, her connections will lead her out of the work rooms and into the glow light where she knows she truly belongs.

History: Canoake was born to Deneeva and Brymellan, 20 turns ago (the same year that the Science Team went missing) in the local Hold. Her mother was a worker who maintained the storage for clothes, threads, and other weaving equipment that came into the Hold and her father was a former guard who went back to his craft of weaving after he was permanently injured by a jacked up Crack addict. Canoake was born not screaming but staring at all those before her. The midwife had to smack her bottom to get her to cry and even then, it was more of a complaint. As she grew, everyone remarked about how delicate and pretty the young girl was and so this was how she acted. Even at a young age, she was attracted to boys and would act adorable to get what she wanted, when she wanted it. Once she was old enough for chore assignment, Canoake would make sure to get paired with someone she could charm so she would get out of doing any real hard work.

At an early age, she identified herself with mighty and aloof gold dragons that were talked about in stories told around the crèche story time, which is how she now sees herself. Once she hit ten turns, her mother and father requested, demanded, whatever, that she take up some sort of craft. Colors and pretty clothing always appealed to her so she began her stint in the weaver halls, working hard to be noticed so that she could stay or maybe go onto a larger Hold. Once puberty hit around 14 turns, her pixie frame filled out to a rather attractive young woman and thus began phase two of her plan to become well known. Canoake had no problems using her body and what she learned to advance in the Weaver Hall. She was actually enjoyed her activities and her studies but one day she gained favor with the wrong Master, who happened to be espoused. And though she didn’t lose her status in the Hall, she was asked to return back to her home hold. About 3 years ago, her parents decided to apply to move to Wardens Weyr and work with the Weavers to maintain stores of fabric, uniforms, and other necessities. While Canoake first was excited about the move, she soon realized that at 17 Turns, she was stuck in an even less worthwhile place than her Home Hold. She is secretly saving up marks to gain enough to get out of the area and someplace larger and more exciting. Her goal is to eventually become a Master Weaver and sell her intricate embroidery & designs at Gathers. But now that a small gathering of eggs has been laid, including a gold, Canoake is reevaluating her plans to see if being a dragon rider might prove to be more useful.

In her recent time at Warden's, Canoake has had no problems speaking her mind. She has made nothing but antagonistic relationships, which do not bother her. When she went to touching, her mind started to waver slightly about whether or not the eggs should even hatch. Though, she didn't let anyone else know this.

And then, the gold died. And her rider was pretty much behind her. When M'onk, forcefully dragged them out to the Sands, it was Canoake who was the first to stand up to the Warden. It was only with some angrily muttered words by V'tyai and the actions of some others that she actually back down. Then Hatching occured. Canoake was actually in a good position to watch both the Hatching and M'onk. So when a gray hatched out, Canoake was pleased at anything that would tweak the man's nose. Until he had it shot down.

That's when her mind began to plot. In the midst of all that plotting and helping some silly boy who got his robes ripped by a pink dragon, off all colors, that dragon decided that she was HIS! And his name was Haemath.

And together, together... Watch out, M'onk.

Other stuff: Nothing at the moment.

Friends and Enemies of Canoake

Friends/Allies:

Revrend: A sweet looking wher handler who came in to get some clothing repaired. I also promised to make something cute for her and her wifey. I think they will both be pleased.

Neutral:

Leevi: Personally, I think he is nosy and has a bit of a stick up his butt. Be he doesn't seem to be a bad person.

Berek: The Healer Man. Seems very good at his job.

V'tyai: I can't tell if he is a good man or not. But he is one who looks out for his own hide, something I can understand. And perhaps, if I get the chance, we can talk business. Serious business.

Enemies:

Name: Haemath
Color: Pink

Appearance: He looks like someone vomited fairy dust and cotton candy after a long night of binge drinking bad beer. Right out of the shell, Haemath is nothing more than a slip of worn pink with darker tips to his wings and lighter around the muzzle. Anything else is lacking.

His size as a hatchling seems to indicate the boy will grow to be around the size of a bronze but seeing as how he is the first of his kind it's all up in the air. Still, he's a large young thing, all barrel chest and stocky build, his claws large and shovel shaped, his tail long and his head a finely shaped skull of dragon beauty. Haemath is well aware of how very lovely he is color aside and has no problem attracting attention due to being larger than any of his siblings. Sorry, siblings.

Personality:
Oh I love to be
I love to be the underdog

So you think Haemath likes you?

AHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Not so much.

Haemath is an outgoing an nice dragon, this is true, but it doesn't mean he cares. He has his own causes that he is fiercely devoted to but outside of that, he is not your psychologist – go to a Mindhealer for that. Complaining about things when not a rider or an actual friend gets a person nothing but a disinterested 'mmhmm' in that lovely deep baritone of his. Granted, it'll be nasal when he is young but it'll develop into the lovely. That said, he is not a mean dragon. Should a friend come running to him with an actual problem, he will avenge them.So what if he's not a gold? Doesn't mean he can't kick a**!

See, one of those causes he is so intense about is the fact that there is too much injustice in the world. Things need to be fixed around Pern. Who better than a brand new color full of awesomeness such as himself? Haemath sees himself as an avenger, although not as cool as Batman. The underdog needs to win sometimes and who says he isn't going to be that awesome person? Haemath needs to be needed, he needs to be spouting about injustice of the world but unlike some other people, he actually works for it. Haemath is not a dragon of words and no actions but rather too many actions. He will get an idea in his head and roll with it, Ramoth help you if you try to stop him from achieving his goals. Canoake needs to keep him in check from these things otherwise he'll start seeing wrongs that need to be righted all over the place and cause almighty havoc.

It's not that he's a mean dragon or a sociopath or anything. Haemath simply seems things in black and white with little wiggle room for gray. If there is a matter in which he's not sure about... he's not atheth, he doesn't go crying to his rider for an easy fix. No! He's there to help his rider, not the other blasted way around. Instead he goes and makes the decision without too much consideration, figuring it's better than absolutely no decision at all. Sometimes he's right.

When he bonds to someone, be it human or another dragon, he stays that way. There probably won't be too many unless his rider decides to force him on people and he grows used to them simply by being around them all the time. Sturnuth is the exception; she gives no wherrieshits and he can admire that. Besides, she's new and un-shiny just like him. Other than that, there are no 'out of the shell' bonds for Haemath; just that sister. He will still rip throats if he has to, dragon or wher, and he has no issue murdering other dragons if it keeps one of his loved ones saved. It's best to get on this guys good side and to stay clear of that 'wrong' part. His justice is not something easily shaken off.

Why me? In Haemath's opinion, Canoake doesn't need no stinkin' gold. She's a princess in and of herself and should be treated like the cream of the crop. After all, he chose her. And why shouldn't he? She is strong and opinionated just like he is, she has her eye on the prize. There are few that can handle a force of nature such as Haemath and fewer still that know how to appreciate his absolute glory. Canoake also has the compassion that Haemath ultimately lacks. Both have a fierce loyalty to themselves. Canoake has herself an equal in Haemath, a dragon as passionate as herself and the drive to get what she wants done in life. They aren't gonna stay in Warden's forever, babe, 'cause she deserves better.
