It was near sunset on Serenia and a small campfire glowed from the banks of Lake Tyfuel.
Grrel had just had a successful hunt and was returning with her prize to Kadryn's camp. Kadryn had brought out her cooking gear and was going to show Grrel how to cook. She might not have hands now.. but when she finally became a Drakeinian, Grrel intended on cooking every meal she could! Dropping the carcass off, she grinned at Kadryn.
"Well, here it is! And before sunset too!" Her tail lashed eagerly as she watched Kadryn skin and dump the organs into a pile.

"May I have that?" She nodded to the pile of offal.

Kadryn grinned, "Be my guest! I normally leave it for the scavengers! I don't like the taste of organs. I've met some people who think they are delicacies.. weird people." Kadryn shook her head as she poured some of the fat from the animal into the pan. She began to point out what she was doing and why she was doing it to Grrel as Grrel snacked on the juicy bits of oragn meat.

Saiqon was on an errand for a friend in the to get some healing water from Lake Tyfuel, it was for an old fisherman in Astral City who had given Sai a fishing rod in exchange for a favor. In his old age, he was unable to fish, but he had some arthritis problems and prices for Tyfuel water were grossly inflated in Astral City, especially for a retired fisherman. When Sai mentioned that she wanted to catch Violet Snapper in the lake, they made a deal that if she would return with a waterskin of the stuff he'd give a large sum of her money as a downpayment back in exchange. Seeing the benefit of this deal, and loving favor swaps, Sai naturally agreed

Fortunately Violet Snapper was plentiful in Lake Tyfuel and so it only took an afternoon before Saiquon had amassed a decent collection of four on a chain which she wrapped around a stick and slung it over her back. Filling up the waterskin as she had promised, she began to walk along the bank to find a decent spot to make dinner before heading back towards Ashen, and then home. It took her only a few moments before she stumbled upon a camp that had already been set up, and figuring there was safety in numbers, and finding a decent sized flat stone on which to skin fish upon, also sat down nearby.

"I don't like the taste of organs." she overheard "I've met some people who think they are delicacies...weird people."

Not being able to help herself, Saiqon responded over her shoulder as she began to skin away the scales of the snapper, and then peel the meat from the bones.

"Oh I don't know, skewered with a bit of Naxus spice and voidpepper and they're pretty good." she said "Can't cook them for too long though or else they taste like poison."

Then she suddenly noticed that the voice was coming from an Orderite sitting at the campfire addressing a Drakein who seemed to be concerned with the nature of the food being prepared. She mostly ignored the Orderite, nodding to her only out of politeness and staring instead at the Kiandri accompanying her.

"Huh, a Kein concerned with cooking." she muttered and smiled, turning back to her task. "Ah well, stinlaas. Some like it hot I guess."

Grrel ignored the small dovaa as she sat down near their camp. Why bother when it was obvious fromher size that she wasn't a threat? Food was much more important!
Kadryn noticed but decided to not pesture the girl. Perhaps she just wanted to be near others for saftey...though why she dind't join them was odd, perhaps Grrel scared her?

But when the girl pipped up with acomment, both of them turned thier heads to look at her.

"What's a stinlass, and why should I not be concerned with cooking?"
"It's the Naxus spice that makes them taste odd if you cook them too for long." Both spoke at the same time. They then looked back at each other for a second with amused expressions; Kadryn then smiled and gave the conversation over to Grrel. Since the girl seemed more interested with the Drakien than her, which made sense... How many Drakien would a young Dovaa like her have seen so far? Probably not very many, so of course the girl wanted to talk to Grrel more.

Grrel snaked her long neck back around as she settled down by the cooking fire.
"How about you come over here and join us so I can watch Kadryn prepare our meal and talk to you at the same time with out being rude?"

Saiqon gave the Drakien a smirk, pleased to be addressed by someone of similar lineage.

"Well I just had this nice flat rock rock all picked out but..." she bent down to pick it up effortlessly and walked over towards the camp and placed it down with a thud.

"That's no reason for me to say no to your offer is it? Though I don't really need a fire at all."

Knife in hand, Saiqon continued to debone the fish and then cut the fish meat into small rectangles. Suddenly remembering that she hadn't introduced herself yet, she looked up at her two new companions and said

"My name is Saiqon Va’dun, and Stinlaas means many things; but right now it means that just because I think it's strange that a Kein would want to learn how to cook, doesn't mean that it should stop you. Stinlaas, live as you'd like."

She motioned with her hands and smiled in a carefree way as she said this, then returned to cutting up the fish, then sniffed the air, suddenly curious.

"What are you cooking by the way?"

Grrel went back to watching Kadryn cook.
"Try not to call me a Kein.. it implies that I am still a Keinling or Kindred.. of which I am neither anymore." She lazily turned an eye to glare at the Dovaa, "You may call my by my name or not at all."

Kadryn snorted, "Kinda hard to call you by name when you haven't introduced your self!"

She smiled at Saiqon and nodded a greeting, "I'm Kadryn as this scaled beast-y mentioned and she's Grrel.. with some clan name that I've forgotten by now.... Currently I'm making something I like to call fajita's. I chop up any type of meat, preferable not fish, and saute it with some veggies and a sauce made up of various spicy veggies. You can put it on any type of bread, just scoop out the inside or sandwich it between too slices and you're good to go. It's easy and fast to make plus it has enough heat for both me and Grrel, plus it can be eaten by her without too much of a mess."

"The spicier the better! I like to add cheese to mine some days." Grrel chimed in as her tail lashed eagerly."It'd taste even better on fresh bread, but since we can't bake it out here I have to live with cold bread."

Kadryn rolled her eyes, "Oh how dreadful... bread baked fresh this morning and you claim to be suffering!"
